Why would anyone developing for a dropped console not go multiplatform? Vita PC ports have proven to meet some success, and nowadays vita is niche at best, so simultaneous release is just the sensible thing to do.

I agree, Vita/PC games isn't so much taking away from vita as reaching the understanding that releasing to both allows for safer niche projects. There's a good chance Yomawari 2 was greenlit after the pc port for instance.

Vita versions still sell a lot more a lot faster. Its not as big a discrepency as say ps4 v pc sales (4:1) but the divide is more like 60:40 with some outliers way in the vitas advantage generally. No one wants to turn down 60% of potential sales at a higher price no less. Sort of why some devs consider 20% to be worth it. It's 20% of 1m, that's a nice bonus.
