The Switch uses an "updated" version of the 3DS kernel along with bits and bobs of FreeBSD (most especially the network stack from what I remember), all designed to look kinda like Android. However the Switch doesn't use the PowerPC architecture that its three predecessors have been using for more than a decade, in fact isn't built upon the foundations laid by the previous three systems whatsoever, so emulation isn't an immediate forthcoming like it was for the Wii.
