I still have yet to play the 2nd one but really enjoyed the first.

...

Oh wow, a game nobody asked for.

It's finally about the girl rider and it goes back to the post-apocalyptic world of the first one ? Promising enough. 2 wasn't bad but definitely more generic than the first, wholesale Zelda ripoff notwithstanding.

nobody wants this after how thoroughly ds2 shat the bed

it's pretty great user. echoes of DMC-style cuhrayzee combat with a variety of secondary weapon choices to complement your standard sycthes and a good helping of rpg-style item upgrade and management.

The absolute madmen. You think they're actually going to go ahead and do the whole quintilogy?

Fury is a female? I thought all horseriders were male

I may like the series, but this will always infuriate me.

So, shouldn't you play as Famine or Pestilence? Who's Fury?

They are but they've replaced two horsemen with different characters because of the weapon they use. They probably couldn't figure out how to turn a scaleweight into a dangerous weapon.

Darksiders 2 showed her as a girl, yeah.

another dev pandering to libtards and sjws

sage

Hey leftypol

apply yourself

There was a point where the plan had pared back to just a trilogy with the last three games crammed into the third entry. This appears to ONLY be Fury, no Strife, Death or War to be seen, so it's very plausible that they are.

I'm pleased

go watch the opening cutscene on Darksiders 2, they've always had Fury and Strife, Fury has always been female and apparently wielded a whip, Strife is a cowboy gunslinger.

U wot

They replaced Conquest/Pestilence and Famine with Strife and Fury, reducing the Horsemen to "War, War, Death, and War" because they couldn't think of cool things to do with Conquest/Pestilence and Famine. That's literally it.

Another game, another female lead.

How? I thought they stopped after THQ died?

Is this meme still going on?

It is know that this character would've been a female for years. And seeing how leftypol is always behind shit I figured that user is from leftypol and with all the false flagging they do it's easy to spot them. Also leftypol thinks they are not part of the libshits, which too is ironic.

I know. It sucks.

no need to disguise yourself kike

Honestly, if you're going to even consider Pestilence you might as well just invent your own set of riders. Conquest or bust.

To be fair Strife is supposed to be based on Conquest, only instead of a bow he has guns.

Sounds pretty shitty. The whole point was to do individual games for each horseman and then have a big crazy finale with the whole family all back together again.
Why? Don't think they have the long-term focus to do it right or something?

Keep trying Goldstein

And Conquest is supposed to be Jesus Christ himself going full-on bloodthirsty warlord mode.

I said I think they're doing all five again instead of the reduced plan, that's why I'm pleased, that and that it's going to exist at all.

Come on, niggers, don't derail this into a political discussion.

I hope this means
and not

great job outting yourself chaim

now fuck off

Oh, my mistake, I misread what you wrote but it was a little ambiguous.

You want to starve your enemies to death? How? By imposing communism on them?

mite b cool

Same here. I played and completed the first one way back when it was first released for consoles. Got the second one at one point but haven't really touched it. Now those two remasters (Warmastered and Deathinitive) showed up in my GoG library for some reason so I might give it a go now that a sequel might happen.
Still waiting for that four player co-op game though - maybe next time.

Is that or just shitposting, just hide and report, dont take the bait.

I agree. Famine could work in something like a RPG game, but I can't really think of a way to make it work in this type of game

Suck my dick leftypol

Why should I care about this. Darksiders 1 was great but it's been tainted.

What the fuck do you mean? This is a different company now, so they (hopefully) won't pull a Darksiders 2 on us again, seeing as how that did kill the series for a while there. As for the Fury, she was always female, since the first game you could tell she was. Don't tell me you think that any female character in a game either needs to be a dick-sucking slut for the protag or it's SJW propaganda.

dropped

Darksiders 1 remains the best zelda game to come out in ages.

I meant to leave the implication to the fact that it wasn't containing all 4 horseman, and was instead focused on a single one, so presumably they're not tying it all up all at once here.

When the rumor started circulating several months back that Darksiders 3 was back on, it also included that the original writers and many original developers were on board, so hopefully they're going to go all out.

Looks breddy gud so far

2 had a SotC ripoff fight but was good otherwise

WHERE THE FUCK IS PESTILENCE AND FAMINE

What are some other good Zelda clones?

Notice how as soon as I said I didn't like the choice you instantly sperg out in a fit of autistic rage.
A horseman of the apocalypse shouldn't be a woman. That's just a fact. Sorry we can't all gobble cock like yourself lad.

lol fucking dropped

Okami

Stah Fawks Temperatures

beyond oasis and legend of oasis and crusaders of centy

I like the artstile.
Here's another game also based on another of Joe Mad's work

Fury's always been a woman. Also, I don't think the biblical horsemen are indentured servants of a trio of talking, lava belching rock faces that secretly run everything by gluing The Joker to people's arms so I guess it's not a standard apocalypse fiction.

They are few who gives a fuck about the customers

In addition to that, the devs wanted to make Darksiders 2 feel more like Devil May Cry's combat, but someone higher up put a stop to that, which is why the second game's combat is basically the first with more move cancelling and longer combo strings.

Also did something happen at 4chan

Is that fucking linkle

Fully clothed and game looks like shit. No thx.

What could possible go wrong?

On the oldschool zelda front there's Oceanhorn, which is apparently good but I've not tried it, and 3D Dot Game Heroes, which was PS3 exclusive but surprisingly good.

(checked)
You think that a development team can have a near-death experience? I'd want to say something like, "They're going to go balls-to-the-wall all out since the series almost nearly died," but honestly, I don't know what's going through their minds. I like the little I've seen so far, though.

So your justification for a shit choice is that they started off with the shitty choice.
Bravo, dipshit.
I wasn't aware you were this dyed-in-the-wool to defend Fury. This is the first time I've encountered such an autist.

Sphinx and the cursed mummy.

Do you think there will be a Switch version? The Wii U actually got the definitive edition of 2 iirc

attacks just rip off energy, just like raziel
make magic that make ennemies mad with hunger on top of the usual "he's weak" and "here's a dot"

just use your imagination

...

No, it won't happen Mark

wew lad

I'm not defending anything, I'm telling you this was the initial design and bitching about it isn't going to retroactively change that. Now stop projecting, autismo, you can have your tendies after you do your chores and not a moment before.

The WiiU version of Darksiders 2 is neat for its map and inventory access in real time on the tablet, but otherwise it's a pile of shit. It loads slow as fuck and runs horribly, I swear the only reason they got the tablet support for the map and inventory is so you didn't have to wait the upwards to 15 seconds it can take to get into the full screen menus every time you picked up an item.

I can't imagine a world where you suck cock this bad. It must be tough for you.

Thats nice
Wew, lets hope for the best.

wew lad

I'm more pissed that we have Strife and Fury instead of Famine and Pestilence but who the hell cares as long as the games are good

Have you been in a cave for the last decade or are you actively choosing to repeat the past

Who cares whether she's a woman? Are you gay? Do you suck dicks?

Darksiders 1 and 2 were good though

It's okay when Japan does it

There are people here who bought Mass Effect Andromeda and Mortal Kombat X.

Unleashing locusts and shit

Good. At least some people still support the games industry around here.

Brand loyalty is a disease

This is how I can be certain you're a faggot.

It's those people that made me realize gaming truly can't be saved. We're as bad as comics at this point.

(You)

that's a funny joke man.

...

Why is it bad fam please enlighten

It's not all that different from the first

i forced myself to play Dsiders2 since i got it in a bundle

Even if you ignore the bugs, what shitty game, does anyone really care?

I thought this was leaked for a while, didn't THQ Nordic say all IP's they bought would be getting revivied?
Joint Operations 2 when?

Shameful

This game will be meh and everyone will blame it on diversity. Just watch.

That would be nice, but unrealistic, I guess they are going to make sequels of the games that will sell.

Its realistic
Its literally happening right now

Did you play it?

It was boring. Boring characters, uninteresting boss fights, it was mad buggy, and the combat managed to feel less flowing than DS1.

Well it's known they are actively doing something with Spellforce, Gothic, Darksiders and Red Faction and perhaps Destroy All Humans along with Imperium Galactica. Considering Joint Operations did sell they probably will do something with that in all honesty. They may also do something with Nexus the Jupiter Incident and Impossible Creatures.

That is how Famine works so, yes?

I'm completely unsure what you're even on about at this point. If it sucks it sucks, we won't know until it comes out. The only one here screeching with autism is that mongoloid that looks you in the mirror.

I'm comfortable with this. It would be nice if it's not awful, since it's good to see a setting not get crushed once the money runs out at any point. Darksiders has always been strongly a "take it or leave it" thing for me, but it had more promise than dying because the publishers bought too many fucking tablets.

So, Darksiders 4 with Strife next? man, they were planning on getting D3 with Fury and Strife in-game switching and co-op multiplayer.

...

And yet I can't be sure if OP is just a shill or actually mentally retarded.

I bet Tzeentch is behind this.

If only

Conquest is The Antichrist, user. It's the earth-made god, who leads Israel into ruling over the goyim forever and ever, that the Jews thought Jesus is supposed to be.

"Currently listed for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, the game has a placeholder date of December 31st, 2018. The game is being developed by Gunfire Games, a studio made up of former developers of Vigil Games, the developer of the first two Darksiders games."

"Originally released in 2010 by THQ, Darksiders is a cross between God of War and The Legend of Zelda, focusing on the four horsemen of the apocalypse after the forces of Heaven and Hell destroy the Earth. Following THQ’s closure in 2013, rights transferred to Nordic Games (now THQ Nordic), who recently remaster both Darksiders games for next-gen consoles."

Here's hoping we finally get a 4 person team up. Even if they're controlled by bots, it'll be freaking awesome to ride with the four.

The bugs were annoying but I think the combat and bosses were mostly similar in quality

Dumping the old Darksiders comic that came with the first game.

...

Are there any porn of furry?

You stupid idiot.

...

...

You're that guy. And you're legit, amazing.

What world do you live in where 2007 is later than 2010?

...

...

And that's all.

You're THAT guy. And YOU'RE legit, amazing.

...

...

It's a goon, just here to stir up shit for their soggy knees gamers nonsense.

Got to get into the hentai market.

A man of great taste

I/m downloading Darksiders 1 right now, what am i in for?

Edgy Ocarina of Time with Mark Hamill Joker Voice.

Sweet. Like the first two.

I always thought that Fury should play a lot like some kind of movement based fighter. Using her whip to get around, fighting enemies on the walls, ceilings etc. As for Strife, he should be a mix of Vanquish/Max Payne and Gunslinger from DMC.

You mean Dark Millenium Online
And Space Marine was trash, so no loss there.

Some pretty good voice acting and a rather fun game

A Zelda-inspired game with some decent combo combat and a wonderfully inspiring setting.

How to spot someone who knows fuck all about the game or series in the first place

hope you downloaded remastered, the higher res textures are an absolute must. You're in for a bit of generic fun, best go through the game as quick as possible

So let's recount the story from the Four Horsemen
Okay, now Fury is also at the same time on Earth and several other worlds fighting the Seven Sins, now only Strife is MIA, and he better get good shooting gameplay, not a fucking DLC, and they better improve the quality, god the DLC in D2 were shit and the randomized loot and stats were badly implemented

Look at vid related and tell me if SJWs would make that, wait and see on the devs you fucking kneejerk retard, if they swallow SJW buzzwords and bullshit memes in the game, you can gloat all about it when you're right.

Still pissed at the retcon and retarded stealing of ideas from Diablo for the Nephilim, went from being Old Ones, before Angels and Demons to being hybrids of them both, fuck.

Reported for shitposting and baiting.

an infinite empty amount of valleys, just like the other 2, this is it, i'm not even going to pirate this shit

I'm downloading a warmastered edition or whatever.

I'm a bit concerned over Strife considering how regularly he loses his fucking gun.

That's the remastered.

yes that's the one

is 2017 the year of unexpected sequels to underrated games?

Well, I'm glad the series is still alive.

It's a great remaster, as rare as that is.

In all seriousness the game is damn near a masterpiece compared to the usual modern fare. The music, voice acting, characterization, direction and presentation is all top fucking notch. The gameplay is sadly its weakest point but that's still really decent, it's literally a Zelda game in the format of Ocarina of Time.

Says the guy who made the shitposting equivalent of "nuh-uh!" and expects to be taken seriously.

Well, they got screwed by the Charred Council and practically disarmed and without their great powers, only War gets his main weapon, Death was using several scythes in D2, and how the hell are they gonna implement his gunplay I wonder, because using guns in the first two were kinda terrible in late game.

Fuck off, goon.

...

Not surprised. Won't play it without being certain that it is cuckoldry free. Since the Ethernal Swede is involved, that means I won't play it.

Maybe we should be more concerned over how we keep tripping over his gun?

Once, sure, but twice?

Yes, yes they would. Are you not aware of Gearbox? Are you not aware of Id?
They've been doing it for longer than you realize. They invent their own demons and then set forth to fight them, it's been part of their playbook since the 90s. The only difference is now people are getting over it so they need to go more grandiose.

Lorne is still salty about that to this day, rightfully so. There hasn't been a game like it since, and Lorne's the only guy I'd believe had the vision for it.

He had two guns, War was surprised at it, but a hundred years has passed and he got it from a Builder, same in Death's case, either the giant dwarves know how to make really good replicas or Strife's an autist, a good autistic brother who looks out for his other siblings.

I told you man. Vanquish and Max Payne fused with Gunslinger from DMC.

The words "fully open-world" should be a dead giveaway by now as synonymous with "shit".

I want goons to leave.
>>>/cuckchan/

Fuck off, goon.

I would play the living shit on that, but how would it work with Death and War's gameplay once Darksiders 5 comes to existence with four-player coop they promised.

Wow. A third game in a series literally nobody cares about.

Hey, the first one was good. But the second one was not, and kinda shat all over the storyline of the first by retconning a lot of good shit. Then they decide to go with the worst horseman.
Pirate the first one and play it instead. Or play MGR with Mistral's equip for a good whipping experience.

I wonder why the goons like 337d9d are so triggered about this game.

Just so you know when you get the crossblade, which is fairly early on, you can used it to cancel air combos. that made the combat allot more enjoyable for me.

Button-press finishers was probably the only bad part of DS1's combat. I never used them and opted to continue using best weapon scythe but the big blowing "PRESS THIS TO KILL THE GUY" was a bit annoying.

I think Darksiders might be the most unfairly shit upon series ever. They were two perfectly good action adventure games (though the second one had issues) realsed in a generation where there was a real shortage of that kind of thing. What's the problem, exactly?

Yes user, there's porn of furries

They're trying to tear down any game that so much as features a female character, much less protagonist in an attempt to further paint gamers as misogynist, it's both an extension of gamergate and just what they do. You'll notice that they just can't help projecting where above he comments on how SJW's invent their own demons then go out to fight them. It's a means of simultaneously virtue signaling and feeling like they're accomplishing something heroic without ever actually being exposed to danger.

They get off on ruining everyone else's fun, trying to impose their own middle class misery on everyone else, and also being pedophiles and communists. They all need helicopter rides.

The worst part is that War's hand glows yellow when you can grab an enemy, that and the enemy being staggered is all you need, but they have the god of war PRESS KILL BUTTON because people are too dumb to figure it out themselves apparently.
Nero from DMC4 is still the only character to ever get this right.

Cool, though I am worried about the socjus media crawling all over them leading up to release which will probably make them feel a lot of pressure to make the character not too "icky". It'd be absolutely great if they pulled a Bayonetta instead though, I'm just going to avoid getting too excited for it until we know its fate for sure.

Didn't leave that much of an impact, wasn't groundbreaking, artwork and characters didn't get that much loved considering the creative director was a comic book industry veteran, the didn't have it's own identity other than God of War meets Legend of Zelda, a huge disconnect between the two games, THQ dying and the brand languishing, and pretty much it was quite average and didn't break new ground.

My fucking nigger
The glowing arm was all that you need to know "the insta-kill is available". Again, I never used it, but if they're going to do it at least make it blend into the combat and not take me right out of the flow of the combat.

You're right, but what I don't understand is how "prefectly solid game, that does nothing new, but is thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end" translates to "shit".

...

Alright time for the goon test
What do you think about this image?

DS1 wasn't shit, it was good. It suffered from a lack of marketing and releasing around several other more normalfag-friendly games. DS2 got much more marketing but was unfortunately a poorer product, cementing the game's fate to be forgotten.

I haven't watched Panty and Stocking, but it's in my backlog. Should I? I'm told it's a comedy series but the last Nip Comedy I liked was Nichijou.

Didn't get that much fanfare and you have to remember, there were loads of other games back then that were part of bigger franchises that did things better, had high production values or an established fanbase, and you have to remember, the game was generic in a lot of ways, it seriously didn't leave an impression and nobody gave a shit about the story, lore and universe to even read and buy the novel of the game, and there is still a severe lack of fanart.

Stocking was demon all along and season 2 never ever.

Fury is the one with the revolvers, right?

Fury is the one with the whip, Strife is Revolver Ocelot.

...

No, Strife has revolvers, Fury is whips.

Finally, THQ Nordic makes a game I actually want, apart from remastering all the good IPs they bought up.
If I recall, they hired a bunch of Vigil staff, and this game was already under development when THQ went bust, so this should feel as good as the first two games.

Oh, and I've been waiting for good whip combat for years. I hope this scratches that itch.

Oh
Guess he isn't a goon.
Huh.

The reason you'll never have that game is because most devs are kikes, and you wouldn't be able to make such a game without making kids think Jesus is fucking awesome.

Aww dang

It was a generic action adventure game in a time when there were very few of those that weren't called Zelda. That alone made it kind of unique.

I think the horsemen changed over time & by region.
Famine & Pestilence are the most common, but it was originally other things.
Fury & Conquest fused into War.

Sort of like how the original 7 sins aren't all the 7 we tote now- not to mention Dante's Inferno created a ton more with the layers of hell (Traitors, liars, those who intentional sow discord, etc)

I know they're retarded, but they're not *that* retarded.

Darksiders 1 and 2 are shitty God of War rip-offs made for children. You are all embarrassing.

I'm more into VNs than anime but regardless.

Gee Whiz, I wonder why we don't hear about those sins anymore.
I wonder what group of people would try to make people forget the sins of lying, treachery, and sowing discord. Who I say, Who?

At least they have more gameplay depth than God of War.

The worrying's valid since Fury's had little characterization thus far. The most we know is that she's one of the Horsemen, and she cares about the other three. It's easy to imagine places like Neogaf getting upset since Fury's a female character with high heels, breasts and a whip.

Small reminder that at the end of the first game, War broke the final seal that limited the Horsemens' full power, meaning he and Death spent their entire respective games being held back. The only reason why anyone spoke hot shit to the Horsemen was because they were aware of this.

Wasn't there some sort of vaguely sci-fi/religious game that retold parts of the bible?
You had light & dark energy which was used to break armor on specific enemies?

Finally, waited years for this. I hope they learned from their mistakes in 2

So if this game takes place before that event, we still see her "limited".
And if during, she might unleash her powers for the final boss/last cutscene.

The original Laura Croft was smart, sexy, loaded, fit, and intelligent. Sure she had as much flaws as a 90's action hero- but they never complained she was too good. Now male heroes in film & games aren't perfect. They moved on and improved. Female characters have flaws- but are poorly written thanks to the SJW crowd (torn between making her not too attractive, and not too much weakness).

TBF most of the sins were combined.
I.e. Sadness at someone else's success became envy. Pride in your appearance & boating became Pride overall.

But yeah, Dante's Inferno didn't explain in depth why traitors etc are bad, since at the time everyone fucking knew why.

There's a reason (((someone))) has been pushing for most media to be brain-dead and need instant gratification. How can you warn others when most or what people think is the majority people want to see something generic?

They take more from Zelda. You haven't played them.

I want to see this

Neutopia I & II for the TG16/PCE
GoldenAxe Warrior on the Master System
Crusader of Centy on the Genesis

FUCK
FUCK

You're a fucking retard

Theres already a thread on why you're stupid

If the screenshot is Fury, she's a leatherclad bitch in high heels. That's about as anti-SJW as you can get, and I'm kind of surprised they decided to do this in 2017. In any case, the things I would be worried about is them being able to pull this off at all, not the particulars.
The original guys (at least, the major ones) are not working on this, and reboots by other people, even if they are trying to live up to the originals (hell, ESPECIALLY) have a very bad track record.
Also, for those of you who think this is random bullshit: they planned to have her from the very beginning. The plan for the series was to go from each horsemen in turn, with the final game letting you play co-op with all of them at once. Maybe that was a dumb fucking idea, but they are not shitting on the series by doing this, it was their plan all along.

That ain't leather bud, that's armor.

Original 4 are War, Death, Famine and Conquest.
Over time, Conquest was merged with War due to errors in translations/story telling over the years, and the 4th one was then called Pestilence, even though Pestilence is pretty much covered by Famine, and he was only known as Pestilence in the early 1900s.

Conquest rode the White Horse. There's debate as to whether Jesus was on the White Horse, but he probably wasn't, and that was jut a coincidence that he rode a white horse later on. Other translations/researchers think the White Rider was the Antichrist, but that's bullshit.

War rode the Red Horse. Along with Death, this is the most definite answer for the Red Rider. Not many disagree with this.

Famine rode the Black Horse, though he's only known as Famine because he carried scales, which would be used during famines to weigh out bread.
He actually has nothing to do with spreading famine/disease through crops, but rather just fucking around with the economy and ensuring no one can buy grain/bread. He's only allowed to mess with bread, as everyone needs bread to survive.

The final Horseman was Death on the Pale Horse. He Doesn't carry any weapons, but has the entirety of Hades following him, which is pretty cool. The colour of his horse is either a sickly green or the colour a corpse goes after a few days.

The Horsemen aren't actually meant to ride together, and are written as a decline of the Roman Empire.
What happens is the first Seal is broken. Basically the Seven Seals are forbidden knowledge that only Jesus can open once he feels he and the human race are ready.
The first seal lets out the White Rider, Conquest. This is when Rome was conquering everything they could.
Then the second seal breaks, and War breaks out. This is referencing the internal struggle in the Roman Empire after they were huge.
Third seal, out pops Famine. Famine was rife in the Roman Empire as they were growing a shit ton of luxury foods, like grapes for wine, but not as much grain as they needed to feed everyone.
Fourth seal, comes Death. Death is both the Roman Empire falling and people dying due to the War and Famine across the empire.

Rest of the Seals aren't quite as interesting, nor do they align as well with the Roman Empire.
5th is True Christians being saved after the Antichrist fucks with them. The Roman equivalent is when Diocletian tried to kill Christians.
6th is a giant earthquake. For Rome, is was the Goths and Vandals invading during/after the collapse of Roman Society.
7th is God saying "Woo, you all passed my trials!"

There's a few different versions of what each Seal means. The mains ones are:
Early age of Rome.
Late age of Rome (What I described)
[Current Year], which is just updated to include modern ways of us all getting killed.
Some shitty one that's just about "muh spiritual feels", and not much actually happens.

tl;dr I meant to write a short description of each Horseman, but I like the Biblical stories and their metaphors so much that I wrote it a bit too long.

I mentioned it earlier, but I'm fairly sure Vigil staff were hired by THQ Nordic to remaster DS1 and 2, so I'm sure they were kept on to make the 3rd and to bring in all their development notes from before THQ shut down.

Thanks writing all of that up. It's really amazing how cool Christian lore is. It's such a shame it's barely brought to light.

Also I thought ex vigil staff were now called Gunfire games, who were hired by Nordic to botch make the Darksiders rereleases?

I like how Conquest used to be considered as inevitable and "natural" as Death and Famine. Really shows you how much things have changed.
Yeah, but my understanding is that the amount of people involved is pretty small compared to Vigil's overall staff. It certainly doesn't include the head honchos who dictated the overall direction of the series from the beginning.

So is Joe Mad even involved in this one? The art direction doesn't look anything like his style.

Have Strife and Fury be more support based while Death and War are the in-your-face brawlers

Fuck off, cuck.

No, and that's one of the major things I was noting. Mad is working on a different project based on his comic books (Battle Chasers I think the name was?). Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, the shoulders bigger than entire people art style he championed was pretty bad and the games were good in spite of it, not because of it.

As far as I know Joemad's working on another game. It's a turnbased type of thing. It's called Battlechasers I think.

...

It is a shame they don't discuss the Bible as anything more than "Muh Religion Muh God".
I'm agnostic, but I definitely enjoy the Bible the most out of the Big 3 Books. The Torah and Koran just aren't as exciting, and are more about telling you what to do, while the Bible is more like Aesop's Fables, and gives you a story that applies to the modern day just as well as back when it was written.

As for Gunfire Games, I went onto their website, and somehow no one noticed that they have a page dedicated to Darksiders 3.
gunfiregames.com/darksidersiii/

You have to defeat the 7 Deadly Sins, and Fury is actually a Mage who uses a magical whip.
Their About page mentions that they have a lot of the core members of Vigil, so I'm guessing it will be pretty close to the first two games.

He's not on it, but he did work for DS1 and 2, and presumably some work on DS3 before Vigil was shut down, so his stuff should be in there somewhere.
Game isn't out for at least 9 months, so there's a chance he will work on it in some capacity.

Well, it's a subjective matter for sure. Some people hate it (i.e, me). Some people love it. I guess fans of his comics probably liked it? Either way, I really liked the games regardless so it's not like I'm shitting on him, just a side note.

That has a lot of potential, then. If they've truly reunited most of the staff except for people like Joe Mad it could turn out alright, I just hope they get the funding and support they need this time, Darksiders 2 was so clearly a rushed game that could have been better than 1 if it had just had the proper muscle behind it.

Yeah El Shadai.
I fucking love it
And for that matter I love Christian and Jewish lore and want more games centered around it. But it'll never happen.

I made a really long post about it before, but THQ Nordic are actually insanely clever at what they've been doing.

They bought all of these IPs that people love but have been in limbo for ages.
They then remaster them for three reasons:
Get old/new fans back into the game so they're ready/willing for a new release.
Get more shekels to fund new games, as a remaster costs a lot less than a new game.
Train their new devs by getting them to learn from the people who made the original games, like DS3 and making new people work with the Vigil staff.

What this leaves you with is more people who want a sequel, more money to make said games, as well as other games from new IPs and trained Devs who know how the old games they're working on work internally, as well as what makes them fun.

Too often you just see a game get a surprise sequel years later with completely new devs out of nowhere, so there's no anticipation/interest for it and said devs don't have a clue as to why the original games were so well made/loved.

THQ Nordic are revitalising interest in AA games, and I buy most of their games just to show support, like the Destroy All Humans remakes.

Maybe Strife is like Johnny Appleseed, except with guns instead of stupid apple trees.

I really hope they go with the BDSM mage that she's clearly meant to be. And considering previous games were "Zelda but with DMC combat", it might not be too much of a stretch this will be "Zelda but with Bayonetta combat".

Also will THQNordic do a Wicked K spin-off after they're done with Darksiders?

The guardian bossfight was anything but.

Thanks for setting off my autism faggot.

Wicked K is pretty nice…
I wish I'll ever get to see what the full, original Darksiders 2 was like.

So it's nearly confirmed we will also be getting a Destroy all Human 3.

But user we already got DaH 3 AND 4 I joke they're shit. A proper follow up would be nice, especially since neo-80's stuff is still en vogue (though they would be jumping over the '70s). Aparently DaH 1 &2 got re-released onto the PS4

DAH sequel is pretty much confirmed.
They did the same song and dance for Darksiders; remaster the originals then keep mentioning them in interviews as key IPs.

I hope it happens. Hopefully with online co-op.

now hol up, I've seen this fucking cover somewhere. Not some promo art, like pic related, but a legit game cover.

Ayy

That stuff is more common than fucking bread. I bet it's been on shittons of covers already.

Plenty of things steal the super hero ground punch (It got made fun of in the Deadpool movie too). It's nothing new, it's like how all modern shooters have some solider walking towards the camera on their box art.

They said they're gonna make a sequel
I hope it's true

Are the first 2 worth buying on a sale from GOG on PC without a controller?

Yes

You're probably right, just my mind playing tricks on me, but could swear I've seen this exact color scheme, same character pose and whip-like weapon around it. Maybe it was just a blunderborn cover.

...

Since nobody posted…video is out.

She looks like an Eldar.

I had forgotten how ridiculous War's body was, just look at that shoulder/waist ratio

So Famine is an actual commie

Damn

It's an edgier Great Fairy. So you're not wrong

BEGONE SLAANESHI WHORE

So in this one, Fury is working for the Council, instead of the first two where you work against them.
Also, from the concept art, this is set after the events of the first two, as you go to Earth and nature has retaken the city, but that doesn't make sense as the end of DS2 had the four reunite.

No, true gommunism would remove all the wine and oil crops, replace them only with grain then hoard the grain and dispense it 1 grain per person per day.
Famine still gives people food, he just fucks over the economy with capitalism to make the poor and unfaithful starve.
He's actually a Jew.

...

We don't know enough.
I've played netiher the first or second, doing so now. But from what I understand War and Death are BFF4lyfe but the four sibilings aren't against eachother. So we'll just have to wait and see. I assume she's gonna try to fix things as well.

please use archive.ism/2010/01/06/darksiders-started-life-with-four-player-four-horsemen-co-op/
Originally was 4 player co-op.
I'm sure they'd have ideas floating around to do that as the finale.

I won't spoil it, but DS1 and 2 take place at the same time and the ending of the first is pretty much the ending of the second.

Upon thinking about it, this could take place during War's imprisonment for a century, which happens at the start of the first.
That makes sense, given that he's chained up.

DS2's ending is DS1's Ending as War Breaks the seventh seal causing them to all group up. And through the technicality of there must always be four horsemen explains why death is back after sacrificing himself. Considering War is still imprisoned this might be another game taking place before Darksiders 1 (Like DS2).

Also the previous two horsemen aren't working against the Council. War is working for them (however reluctantly) and Death is trying to get humanity back so he can clear Wars name to the Council. Though Fury does seem to happy about doing the Council's bidding.

It's just a teaser so things might be radically different.

Frankly, she should had been War. They could had made two male and two female. Since they changed so much, they could had gone full tokusatsu.

So she's gonna play like the dark prince? Neat.

I've played both without a controller. You're good until the shitty TPS sections. Prepare to REALLY dislike Darksiders 2's earth.

...

Darksiders 1 gave you fewer blue souls (the currency) for using executions so it discouraged you from using them. In Darksiders 2 executions were pretty rare unless you specifically got equipment that raised the chance.

first two games were utter shit and this will be no different

That sounds so fucking stupid I can't help but like it.

Alundra.
Basically the PSX's Link to the Past.

Kinda makes me wonder if Strife didn't have the "why reload, just grab more guns" edgelord style before Reaper did.

Fuck that shit

Why put her face on a game she's not even in?

she looks so weird.

It does according to IGN

youtube.com/watch?v=hX9ZcqXEowI

Yea cant say I dig the artstyle, she looks like an elf and that weird floaty hair isnt helping either.

Cool, a Xiaolin Showdown game starring Wuya

It's not in game trailer, right? What are they called, something like CG trailer? She might look better in game

Marketing.

It looks like her body was designed in 2010 and her head in 1997. Because it looks like they scrapped her original head and designed a new one in the last couple of days.
I… oh boy, this isn't going to turn out the same as DoW3, is it? I like the series for what it's worth, but something feels off. Maybe it's the choppy trailer, maybe it's how the game is "leaking" out of every orifice on the internet, maybe it's the fact that Gunfire Games developed Deathinitve Edition of Darksiders 2 and it's so riddled with bugs that I literally can't play it past a certain point (Archon).
I hope they're not rushing the development.

When was the last time that was the case? Genuinely asking because I can't think of a single instance where this was true.

She looks more like any of the ASSFAGGOTS/CRAPCUNTS elvish female characters.

Marketing cinematic.
That's just some fight at the start where you perform some amazing kill scene to get the player into the game, despite the rest of the game being harder/not as fun.
Just like the Ice Golem/fight with War at the start of DS2.

Not really leaking. The trailer and IGN news thing came out within a few hours. Amazon just jumped the gun.
Deathfinitive Edition was fixed in an update IIRC. It worked for me, at least.

I immediately thought of Morrigan of a Dragon Age CG trailer after seeing the video. I don't remember which game this trailer was about, but in none of the games Morrigan looks this bad

Doesn't for me. Can't play for a minute after talking to Achron, even after following devs' advice.

I think its her wierd makeup, they should have given her a helment or a mask

Finally!

fuck you mang i liked darksiders 2

Oh wow that's atrocious.
I was playing it a couple weeks ago on AMD and it had no issues.
If it helps, it wasn't terribly better than the original, apart from the 60FPS, and you should just play the base game + DLC.

What the fuck did they do, that looks like what happens when you dont update your videocard. I just played the normal version long ago, games that new dont need a remaster or anything like it

Sorry user, but if you look through makeup that face from CGI trailer made sense. New face is ayy as shit, the eyes are extremely tiny and too far apart.

The eyes are not solid color either which trows me off from the comic design and wars/deaths design. It would look a tad less weird with solid colored eyes.

Ds2 was rushed. The first two sections are big (perhaps even too much), and the last two are too small. Perhaps they intended to fill and expand the sections, but thq went bankrupt.
BTW, thq going down was a real blow. Section 8, dawn of war, darksiders… they had a lot of good titles. They must have fucked up with the marketing.

You know I'd be fine with a graphical downgrade if it meant I could actually play the game, but 10 hours, mang…

It's coming out in 2018, and this will be THQ Nordic's chance to prove to both consumers and themselves that this strategy of reviving THQ's games is good.
Participate in any discussions they have, even if that means going to Reddit, or just email their PR line.
Just do that for both THQN and Gunfire, and if they get enough people saying so, they'll change it before it's too late to do anything about it.

I didn't enjoy the gunplay, but damn, orbital drops were fucking fun.

Looks like the steam store page is up and Worldbuilders make a return.
nice cut off description there, guys

I don't think I'd be able to stand the cocksuckery of leddit for more than a second.

...

I am more concerned of a tag "RPG".

(very nice)
Amazon has a better description.
There's also a page on Gunfire Game's website with a bit more stuff.

Reddit is cancerous with the sucking up to Devs, but unfortunately that's where the Devs go.
I only ever went there for the Tom Hardy AMA, and even with shitposters from here that was cancer, so I'll just email them a lot from different accounts.

It feels like 80% of the games get that tag and it makes finding an actual RPG so much harder

yeah, don't worry about that yet

I now what you mean.

When I saw this thread I thought of actually playing darksiders because I have it in my steam library.
Turns out I have the warmastered edition as well, so which one is the better one?

The warmastered sounds better but I'm skeptical of "remastered" versions.

Both were remastered, and they worked for me, but many others had trouble with them.
Play the originals if you don't care about 60FPS and current-gen graphics.

I can't say anything about the DS1 remaster, but DS2 remaster is kinda balls, just look at my previous posts.

I think that was more to do with Old THQ going bankrupt.

Warmastered is just completely better as far as I'm aware, unless you really want that special scythe for free (instead of a couple of thousand souls). Deathinitive gave some people trouble but I managed to play through it okay. The DLC weapons and gear get spread throughout the game in new treasure spots and are restatted to not just be level 5/10 items, and there's also a couple of other new treasure spot points that give extra skill points.

Open world killed the second game though.

I never played 2.
Should I ?

Also Fury would have been a lot cooler as Pestilence, using disease and rot to kill enemies. Play something like a necromancer class in a ARPG. Maybe using fist based attacks that are themed around injecting sickness into foes.

...

Yes, it's great. The art style is superb and pretty varied. There's a lot of smaller quests and parts of the game that aren't completely vital to the main plot but serve to flesh out the universe more, which I think is great. Combat and the RPG systems aren't the most amazing thing ever but they're definitely enjoyable.

2 is a lot different from 1, you may like it or you may not.

2 has lots of traversal inbetween fights.
I mean a lot.

I don't see why there wouldn't be a Switch version, THQ Nordic released a few Wii U games long after every other third-party abandoned it and the remaster of Darksiders I is still coming out for it. If they bothered with the Wii U that late they must have plans for the Switch.

Honestly, I'm getting bad vibes from this. Maybe I'm just too cynical and need to not look at it in a negative light, but I can't help but think, "Oh, they're re-using assets from Darksiders 2 so they can cobble a game together on the cheap."

It's going through dungeons and puzzle solving, really. What you get in every "action-adventure" game that's similar to Zelda.

One thing I really don't get about the cinematic–why does she look better in the screenshots than in their pre-rendered cinematic? Whoever is in charge of marketing this shit either has no budget, or is a complete failure at their job.

I hope they do the 70s again for the next DAH, just retcon Big Willy and Furon and do a Destroy All Humans 3 the right way.

I remember how everyone said it was a zelda clone except more manly.
It was damn good, too. The second game was just tedious because it was basically a single player MMO.
Not to mention the lack of cutscenes made the storyline kind of boring to follow because they were just standing there, talking. There were VERY few proper cutscenes and the ones we got were ingame.
It wasn't THAT bad, but Dark Siders 1 was a lot more enjoyable in both combat and Story.

isn't the 1st darksiders a shitty casual beat em up?

Hate the player, not the game.
Play on Apocalyptic difficulty or you're not doing it right.

Ds2 is like Breath of the Wild in it's open world, and you use weapons you find. It's funny how they called that one happening. But it's kinda rough around the edge due to being released when THQ was sinking so be forewarned.

Also while I get replacing Famine with someone more active, Pestilence could still work. Just make him a 40K plague marine more or less.

That was apparently a running joke with the writing staff.

because we are progressive.

Bros before hoes

nope

The reason behind their collapse that I heard was massive investment into a tablet peripheral that bombed so hard that all their successful games couldn't make up for it.

Gee, where have I seen that done before?

Why do you think the faces of Death and War are covered up. They cant into faces

Looks like your card is dying.

less than a year old

It was a problem with the port. Many people complained with similar issues.

Weird. I didn't have issues and I got a shitty card.

underated post

Don't worry, they have already started.
archive.is/4A9UH
archive.is/UUtJ6

Come on, fear mongering only works if you hide the parts that would make me less fearful.

War's face isn't covered up and he looks fine. Maker's faces all looked fine. Angel's faces all look fine. The lord of dead and his minion's faces all look fine. Samael and Lilith look fine. It's just Fury who looks really fucking weird and doesn't seem to belong with everything else.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH.

I hope they avoid the bad shit Darksiders 2 did and change fury's hair colour to white or red instead of fucking purple.

Where do you think we are?

Reminds me of a misshapen generic elf from some game. Also

I'm also expecting a lot of "women" to complain that the female is wearing heels. It's what I expect from people who aren't surprised by the fact that a new Darksiders is coming out.

Holla Forums doesn't even care about SJWs. White sharia would correct their nonsense as easily as it would correct thottery.

Hating SJWs doesn't make you Holla Forums seeing any female protag as a sign of being a SJW game does.

Fury was a female from the beginning.

Oh is this the part where we make broad statements about another board to shit up the thread?

Why does Fury have actual eyes and pupils and shit instead of glowing shit like all the other characters? Her face structure in general seems really off and definitely different from the comic. I really don't have enough artistic knowledge to describe what exactly is wrong but like everyone else is saying it looks they ripped her out of a different game and put her in Darksiders and it's clear she doesn't belong.

Of course she was. "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." Also, the Furies. The developers must have thought it was deep.

Don't pretend that the majority of Holla Forums doesn't both complain about media being used to supposedly indoctrinate and complain about women being in non traditional roles.

Goddamn I wanna fuck lilith.

so you're telling me were on the 2nd seal right now? seriously though thank you this is very interesting stuff to read.

I dont like her face but I really want this game to be good.

She seems very calm and collected for someone named Fury. Maybe its an ironic name or she goes full RIP AND TEAR later on in the game.

...

Disease and lack of food don't necessarily have to go together though they often do. While not the case in the original text I've always thought that Pestilence and Famine being split into two made more sense than War and Conquest being split into two.

The eyes are probably there for cinematic. Death had them too. The comic and art face was more lustful, i liked it more too.

It's not a matter of trying to figure out how to make the gameplay, but rather that the devs just wanted to make the same game four times in a row and get away with it. Here's how they should've done each character for each game.

Moderate in strength, speed, and health; focused on total control of enemies. Most of his strength is based on three or four subjugated, expendable enemies assisting him in fighting, and therefore the gameplay would be the most tactical one in the series.

Uses slow, powerful blows in battles much more drawn out. Would be the tank character and a more typical action game.

An initially slow, weak character focused on debilitations and weakening the enemy while taking a portion of their energy for himself. Some of the energy he absorbs would be temporary to make him more adaptable for certain situations while the rest would permanently increase his ability.

An extremely fast, combo-oriented character with a very low tolerance for getting hit. Combos would do light damage, but the intention is on exposing the enemy for an extremely strong attack.

Now you have four characters each with appropriate gameplay that would make each game unique so you wouldn't have the same game four times but similar enough so you could still think of them as being part of the same series. It would have made for an excellent tetralogy.

Other then that, cool. Though open-world kinda scares me. Is Vigil Games or any of the original devs working on this game? That might mitigate my fears.

The dev company is made up primarily of former Vigil employees.

Fury is one of the remaining two horsemen in this series. The other being Strife. Don't asked me why they didn't go with any of the biblical texts but went with those names instead but its not a change from the earlier games.

I can't fucking wait for the doujins out of this one.

Famine and Pestilence wouldn't fit with the gameplay they use or at least not be anywhere near as exciting.

At least Fury and Strife may play differently because of their weapons. They probably won't though.

Conquest will be the final boss in the last game, taking on all four horsemen.

If you wanted to use the Seven Seals in the modern day, we're pre-Seal breaking right now.
The first is WW3 starting and countries clamoring together to figure out sides and treaties/allies.
Second is thermonuclear warfare.
Third is aftermath of said nukes.
Fouth is crumbling of large, organised government.
Fifth is small pocket societies rising up, some normal, some batshit insane.
Sixth is batshit insane guys trying to rule over the wasteland.
Seventh is repelling the crazies and society being better off for it.

If you want to get into the Bible, whether historical or futurist theory, I recommend watching those shitty early morning mass shows. They usually cover really basic stuff, which you can think about and research later on. That's how I got into it, as I rarely slept at normals hours, and would be up at 4AM when those aired.
Reading the whole book front to cover is a garbage idea. Allowing the higher ups to interpret was the better way of Bible teachings as it prevents idiots from going batshit insane and taking everything literally, proclaiming the current President of the US as the Antichrist.

Pick any story/series of events, and you can usually draw parallels to 3 main periods, pre/early-Rome, end of Rome and the current age. The New Testament is pretty much 100% end of Rome, but it still applies to other shit.

The Bible definitely has things for all of us to live by, but I don't advocate running about praising Deities. I prefer spirituality to religion, and only see organised religion as a way of controlling the public. Freeform religion is much better as it gives everyone a strict set of guidelines, but doesn't shoehorn them into things they don't appreciate.

Conquest is meant to be an expansionary thing. If you see the White Rider as Conquest, then it's expansion of Rome/European culture, for the most part. If you see him as Christ, it's expansion of Christianity. If you see him as the Antichrist, it's the spread of anti-Christianity.
War is more of an internal thing. Conquest makes the empire/religion more widespread, but then it gets too big, fractures and War takes over.

Pestilence was only adopted as people didn't like Conquest due to his shitty description and the difficulty in depicting Conquest. Depicting a plague arriving in the wake of a sick horse is much easier for painters.
Famine is the worst Rider. He plays such an unimportant role in the whole chain of events.

Famine was kind of worked into Death's abilities. One of the skill trees was entirely based around sapping health/armour from enemies or using crows to peck at them.

I'm waiting for all of the porn using her whip in bondage scenes.

Whipping==Pistol Whipping. You're a genius user!

I really had hoped for a game with Strife. I've been starved for a good TPS for so long now.

This guy did it before Reaper did. Was pretty funny seeing him leave a trail of pistols through the whole map.

Pestilence refers more to plagues of insects (i.e. "pests") than plagues of the flesh. It makes sense to relate the two since a huge swarm of locusts or something can really fuck up your food supply.

Oh boy can't wait to roll more balls and move more boxes around.

The graphics haven't changed since the first one. Not quite sure if it is good or bad. But yea, new Darksiders, why not I'll play it.

didn't knew this existed, thanks based user
