Alpha Centauri.

Jagged Alliance 2 will never be topped.
I hate the half-assed "new" plot and maps so much but the gun game ridiculous. How can I go back to the less than perfect ammo detail?

i'll always have fond memories of it even though it's pretty easy and has plenty of flaws.

inb4 someone gets autistic about the semantics of real-time strategy/tactics

Hold my bear.

I think I had like 400 hours or something in KAM. autism game.

Come to think of it that would be a better line for a post with Bulrathi or Shofixti. Oh, well.

vanilla game is easy, but was one of my favorites as a kid. There are a ton of good romhacks that increase the difficulty or add some variety.

This shit right there. While most of my peers disliked for not being proper RPG like Fallout 1 and 2 I grew to like it even more because of how brutal, detailed and visually impressive it was. You could even change stances, drive vehicles and play it in real time, how cool is that?
Garbage like nucom still didn't catch up to the glory of Fallout Tactics.

I didn't find it easy. I had to replay some stages several times to make sure that none of my guys die.
Also prerequisites for unlocking new moves were absolutely unpenetrable.
Compared to something like FFT or Front Missions 3 Vanguard Bandits was pretty hard.
But then I tasted the horror that is PC trpgs

JA 2 1.13 but OG X-Com and Temple of Elemental Evil are up there.
lmoa

what's KAM?

It's right there in the OP.

神採りアルケミーマイスター

Also looks like K.A.M. had a sequel that dropped earlier this month.

JUICE

Translation never.

Amayui? I wouldn't hold my breath for a Seiha tier patch.

I get that you're bored, and I get that you probably get bent recently by mark and his goonsquad but shitting up innocent threads won't improve the status quo. Quite opposite actually.

Fucking great game, especially if you have a PSP to play it on the go.

vndb.org/v20418
Ye and a correction, the demo dropped the game comes out next month.

You posted the pic, what did you think would happen, fig?

Yeah, 5/26. Like I needed more shit in my backlog

Knock yourself out, buddy.

That's a good succ.

Fucking hell.

Well, I know what I'm redownloading next.

Firaxis© XCOM 2™ which is on sale right now and you should buy it, it's so comfy and fun that IGN even gave it a 9 out of 11. 😂

Why would I? It is the best.

I'm genuinely considering learning japanese at this point, but pic related

...

Wesnoth

Unironically Long War, modded and customized to my liking of course

Kamidori is horrid shit as a game, fucking pleb
But you can fuck everything, thats it

go, fuck, yourself, dumb, faggot

Long War is passable, but saying that it's your favourite really speaks of your low standards.

...

...

the move unlocking was one of its flaws, mostly because they're not listed in the manual or the game.
in terms of srpgs i found tactics ogre and fire emblem games to be a lot more difficult.

Top Kek lad.

I used to love them when I was younger but now find them really boring

last I played was Valkyria Chronicles and couldn't bring myself to finish it

I used to hate them when I was a kid but now I love them.
Maybe your intelligence downgraded rather than grow as you too grew.

...

lmao its not an entertaining genre to me anymore. some people have different tastes. if you're still playing games seriously as an adult then you might be retarded and autistic not "smarter"

figures you'd be a pol idiot as well

The irony on this nigger here.

I bet you also think chess is dumb and boring.

name calling is not an argument

but you being this triggered is enough hilarity for me

fucking lmao kys mm

Stop being so hypocritical, my man. I'll let you know I'm a Leninist with Chinese characteristics.
Also, does this picture trigger you?

lmao take your pills or don't I don't really give a shit about you

here's (you)r last light of attention for the day

You will never get those ten dollars back.

:^)

Wherever you are from, you need to go back.

Get out.

You too.

Is there anything that's like these but not mission based? Like Wizardry meets sRPG?

Fuck yes.

As deep as a wading pool but you never drown in shit like other games.

Daily reminder that Sega will never do another Shining game like this again.

master of magic.
/thread

I came here just to be autistic about that.

Probably how I got into TBS back in the day, still find it really comfy to harvest job xp and max people out

Fantastic game overall, solidified my love of the genre

It's not vidya but it's the best TBS game I've ever played, you owe it to yourselves to try it should you be into /tg/

...

I've wanted to get into JA2, but I never could.
I enjoy the combat and the exploration, but when I get to the point where you get a rebel base, I always stop playing because I don't know what to do with it.
Am I supposed to sit there training for a month? Is the world on a strict timer where I have to be at certain places before a certain day or I miss some critical target?

Sting makes amazing tactical games. The games are very rewarding of good play and have tightly tuned difficulties.

You need at least three dedicated squads: the A team that does real work ie keep knocking out enemy patrols/sectors and two to support them. One to train milifags and the other to ferry junk.

There are both soft and hard time limits.

Will we ever get another game even half as good as Alpha Centauri? Or are we doomed to play AC until the end of time?

I liked Luminous Arc, good time wasters, too.
3 translation never ever

Everytime.

Kamidori's combat is too simplistic and easy. FFT has it beat by a humongous margin in terms of depth and complexity. Kamidori is still fun enough and the porn is amazing.

FOT was amazing until the robots. The biggest beef with the game was how useless stealth was. All the stealth perks and every point spent in stealth during night time against human opponents directly from behind without any armor and you still get spotted before you can backstab.

In any case, my favorite are Final Fantasy Tactics and Sengoku Rance. SR's gameplay is so damn good and once you get to 5 star difficulty you start understanding that the game actually has quite a bit of depth to it.

Nope. In fact, we'll never get science fiction as good as Alpha Centauri.

...

But user, what other game is as autistic, long and cruel as Long War?

Battle Brothers. Play veteran ironman. Don't even think about expert unless you want to restart a gorillion times.

It's not Final Fantasy Tactics.

Q.E.D.

I'm just kidding, fam. Though FFT is GOAT, your game looks kinda nice too.

Would anyone recommend Tactics Ogre and if so, which one?

Or would you just recommend FFT since it's more or less the spiritual successor?

Long War is just that, long, tedious, repetitive, mundane, boring.

Too shallow and too easy to break given lucky character rolls or a good map like related.

Why is that sandwich so moist? Fluids are dripping from her chin.

That unbelievably shit UI tho.

Since there's apparently no Fire Emblem present, what aspects of the franchise (both pre and post Awakening) do you think hold it back? In my experience, the games usually wear out their welcome and become boring towards the end since you're still doing the same thing from the last 15-20 missions or so.

No harem ending.

Personal favorites.

Gollop is working on a new not-x-com

Debatable seeing that you get to fuck half the game regardless of the route.

Winner

Shock Tactics just dropped at a reasonable price. Anyone tried it yet to know if it's good? XCOM gameplay with some procedural overworld to uncover, could be interdasting.

Also repeating my Tactics Ogre question: Worth playing? If so, which one?

Thank you for proving him right.

I think/hope he posted BE ironically.

There seems to be even more stuff coming, one is Vengeance 1.13 reloaded. Haven't played it yet since I gotta try newer version. Urban Chaos in vanilla was pretty fun shit, although enemies in every map kinda got tiresome, didn't finish it.

Had few years back fun with 1.13 with Smeagol's item mod, along with Wildfire maps. Don't remember the version I played. Week back decided to try the mod with Bigmaps with 1.13 version 8351
didn't knew there were "few" things added, both in good and in bad. Don't have opinion on every one of them though

Why
fucking fabulous since I can build killzones where I fucking want them while defending sectors
Thankfully, I managed to scavenge fucking BAR with AP ammo
holy fucking shit this shit sucks cock, i had one on default and couldn't change it through INI editor and I fucking retard thought it's not on I fucking wondered why I couldn't get militia trained at all and do I fucking need to get to Alma or something
still bit lacking but it's better than hoping for RNG for good stuff
decided to try this, and it is pretty nifty feature. I still need to try some other ways than just stabbing the fuck outta them and searching for snipers

There's still few things I haven't yet experienced, so can't say much else. The AI still seems dumb, both in defending and attacking, I have good place set up and then they run into my view to get killed, although they do try approach with cover in their front, and few times some fuckers managed to flank me using other angles, even when I thought they would use that route, they outdid themselves went even longer route to get me.

Tactics Ogre is fucking fantastic, I'd advice you to just emulate the PSP one, Let us cling Together.
The GBA is a bit more dated, and the N64 one is a mix of a RTS overworld with TBS combat with a party system akind to Soul Nomad

Second picture is bullshit. They are the random axe/sword/bow users that have identical appearance in almost every srpg. Even compared with eachother there is enough difference. The axe user has a goddamn full fur hat while the sword user has nothing.
In the last picture the buffs seem pretty self explanatory O Fort means you get a boost when standing on Fort terrain and the number 3 next to silk corset is how many more maps that item will be active before disappearing.

The rest is valid, I didn't understand star system either and when I looked it up it was still a very confusing way of doing things.

It's leagues above Xcom at the tactical level. Also money isn't a problem late game.

(checked)
Thanks for the advice, user.

Does anyone know if the Shadow Run games are any good? If so, are there any I should skip or play first? They look kind of neat but I have shitty internet and I'm already downloading an iso for Tactics Ogre otherwise I would just pirate it.

Skip DMS and go straight for Dragonfall DC. HK DC is OK but not as good. Stahl did nothing wrong

It hurts. Shining Force is probably the reason I love video games as much as I do today.

I got 110 hours in Kamidori. Then my fucking hard drive fails and I loose all my shit.

Hello Reddit.

Even falling as low as posting garbage tier Reddit cuckold memes? I feel nauseous

What is this SJW "game"?

Shadowrun: Dragonfall, by the looks of it.

Trying out Tear Ring Saga but it's not very convincing so far. The maps feel too large and as far as I can tell what weapon you use doesn't even matter in the damage formula.

It's being funded through Fig, Tim Schafer's Fraudstarter knockoff.

Are there any good alpha centauri playthroughs I can check out?

Damn shame user, you had to do NG++ minimum to 100% it, and unlock the foursome scene with their alternative costumes.

And all the NG+ levels and with like hard mode turned on were actually pretty damn good.

Why did the Super Famicom have so many great turn based strategy games and why were none of them brought over to the west?

...

It's Dragonfall, the best of the new Shadow Run games, not that that means a whole

So you're a loser.

Front Mission 1 got a localized DS port, though.

I mean at the time. Why didn't we get any of them for the SNES?

Hundreds.

It's like you don't want to see the world burn.

m-maybe FFTA isn't worth playing

Nothing can compare to . It is suffering in purest form.

Best FF game is also a TBRPG

...

Takes a ton of patience to play? Yes. But extremely satisfying to play once you get to the nitty-gritty tank battles? Oh, definitely.

...

The amount you can bump their stats up to with the right items is ridiculous.

i want to do the hanky panky with lash

Is there a way to play wesnoth in a window without making my eyes bleed?

Modern 4X games have massive amounts of input for moderate amounts of output. MoM requires a small amount of input for a massive variety of outputs.

My nigga.
My favourite game of all time. Still play it to this day.

u got dumbr kid lollo

That's not HBS's fault; they didn't write the lore on Horror's, they're part of the Earthdawn/Shadowrun canon.

Master of Orion is a prime example on how to correctly use RNG in games, and a tightly designed game in general. Even if that means you're sometimes screwed on Impossible because the map generator really hates your guts most of the time it's about adapting to new situations, which are perfectly winnable if you handle them right.

Great game too. No other 4x quite understands how magic has to feel like MoM does.

How does MoM compare to, say, Age of Wonders?
What does it do that the later games it inspired doesn't

Also, I love dominions 4 so I decided to try Conquest of Elysium
Feels pretty fun to terrorise wildlife with a small band of skelly bros
I would say the game has nowhere near the depth of dominions but a lot more exploration content and rng events, leading to some pretty interesting casual singleplayer play

Advance Wars Dual Strike was breddy gud. Barely played any.

The one and only.

These games always felt cluttered to me, your pictures are spot on. I've tried yggdra union and knights in the nightmare and the UI really gets in the way.

wut game

...

That's the one pic I always see about the game, but can you actually join the ((((((fascists)))))) ?

Is Grand Edition worth suffering the fan translation cuckoldry?

I don't get it. Is this comic saying we have diverse opinions and saying that's bad?

K E K

Returns is kind of interesting at points but overall incredibly mediocre, Dragonfall is fantastic, Honk Ong is less good than Dragonfall but still a lot better than Returns, especially once the extra campaign for it came out

The music is slightly shittier, they replaced a good chunk of the text dialog with anime cutscenes and removed the 3D battle animations completely. And added a final boss instead of you just conquering everything like a typical 4x.

Holy shit. Just fuck my shit up.

That is a comprehensive summary of EVERY FUCKING THREAD about SRR or its sequels. And closely resembles a number of other threads where shitposting retards have even the slightest opportunity to derail it into identity politics.

I came in this thread to post this but you already did.

I'm sure the "bad guys" are expies of modern alt-lite people, not even actual fascists or alt-right.
Still, can I join them?

I am cautiously optimistic.

No on the account of both you being a independent contractor and them wanting to bomb better part of the city, your station included. But you get to spare their chapter leader if you want some extra ¥ from their funder your local Rothschild representative.

Truly best turn-based game

I think you meant to say blessed

But yes I feel your pain

Source?

archive.is/rMJbc

I couldn't give less of a fuck if the final product is good.

I don't care who gets an aneurysm because muh indieshit, I want to shill this short little game here.

Also it might be on par with guacameme for best-looking game on an OLED screen.

It's a neat B-tier game like I used to play on the DS, pleasant and fun to drop into.

Played only dragonfall, was pretty disappointed.
Tactics are shallow as hell, with ridiculously simplistic units that allow for no variation. Difficulty is non-existent.
The world is okay, story is surprisingly free of SJW shit but railroads you into some truly awful choices.

Recommend skipping it, it goes nowhere and makes nothing out of the fun setting and genuinely likable characters.

HK is more about doing actual runs and how they go wrong while DF is about reaching this very clear objective. Additionally they nerfed the shit out of shaman summoning and electric stunlocks, made enemy groups larger and made you deal with armored enemies as opposed to just ((strip armor)). The money is also tighter. Unfortunately they also added auto-reload arm, cheap-ass grenade launcher or the rape engines like lasgun and cyberwhip so don't expect much higher difficulty once you catch your stride

someone posted this game in another thread
same dev as a-train 9

art dink?
