As funny as the concept is, the anime gets really boring really fast. I'm kinda glad that it's going to be over soon since you can really sense that studio is running out of ideas.

Shit ended years ago. They keep bringing it back because it makes a fortune. Like no joke der Film fucking made bank for a non-ghibli anime film. 22.9M USD box office with an additional estimated 70M USD merchandise and BD sales. All that on a four million budget. But yes, the story of the Ooari Girls School is done. The side story mangas are done. Shit is just done. It reeeeeeally doesn't need a six part theatrical release, but dem yen tho.
If they really wanted to milk shekels without worrying about dragging the rest of the story down by diluting it, they could just release a never ending series of OVAs in the vein of Akiyama Yukari no Sensha Kouza and just have Fluff Prime cutely demonstrate military technology and review the new hotness that will be hitting the battle fields near you SOON™.
