I don’t think it is the case myself, but I read a post online where someone suggested this proved it was all due to the drugs, and that the appearance of the sentionauts was inspired by the toy figures. This guy also claimed that Barry’s physical and mental changes was also due to the drugs, and that he didn’t actually go anywhere, it was the drugs fucking with his head.

I think he did go somewhere, and I don’t think the changes can be explained by the drugs themselves at all. I think he came back from that place changed. There is also the theme(?) of sensory depravation, Helena is kept in this sterile facility, locked up in windowless rooms, and not allowed outside contact at all – sorta like sensory depravation, possibly in an attempt to heighten her telekinetic powers.

BTW, did you know they released this on VHS as well? It was a limited release, and it sold out very quickly.

They only differ from 3:35 onwards.
Music is better synced to the action (specially from a petrolhead point of view, as the revs match better with the music now), and the ending varies a little (but it's a huge improvement in my opinion). Sometimes one resists cutting footage to the detriment of the piece of work and I feel like this was the case. I removed only a few seconds but like the final result a lot more. I'd say this is the ultimate cut.
