Additionally this remaster actually fixes the major fuckups the PS3 remaster had, especially the drive form load times.

Since most of you probably won't notice I'd like to point out they made the graphics of these games worse than the PS3 or emulated versions by changing the post-processing.

It's got the same treatment FF12's remaster got, where it's almost perfect but then they had to fuck it up.

These are his initial observations.

Keep in mind a couple of things when reading this, especially regarding the matter of stability:

-When a speedrunner says "this game isn't stable" it means "i've played this game for the entire day non stop stressing my console and the game", by probability chance obviously they're gonna have way more crashes than the average player, just like speedrunners despised the fuck out of the PS3 version of these games because they were unstable as fuck to them, but i personally 100% KH1FM and KH2FM on PS3 and had exactly 2 crashes total, once per game.
In short, just because it crashes a lot for them it doesn't mean it'll crash a lot for you, they play the everloving fuck out of these games all day every day with minimal breaks.

-Square will patch these games just like they patched 0.2 multiple times.

-There are significant stability differences between the japanese and english versions of these games (it was this way for the PS3 release).
With the western release usually being more stable (but having it's bugs shuffled around, so it's sort of a trade off).

Also as a last note, when a KH speedrunner talks about bosses, he's usually talking about shit the average player will never even remotely encounter during most of their playtroughs, so it might seem confusing, and they'll encounter unique situations when working on them you simply won't.
Like for example the average KH player doesn't even know what revenge value is, and what revenge value manipulation means, when exploring those things shit tends to become buggy even on the original PS2 release, it's inevitable.

From what this is stating it seems that some of the physics is still tied to framerate. Making certain actions a bit too fast. Though way I see it that could mean that more ways to get cuhrazee could be found. Lightning quick load times sounds nice.

I think some were intentional to buff or nerf enemies but from what I see the physics left untouched with the 60FPS glitches are random and widespread.
I'm fine with Sephiroth being intentionally left fast, as long as the devs sat down and said "yes, this is intentional to make him harder" and didn't just not even test it.

I've beaten KH 1 & 2 twice, but never on hard.

If I had a PS4 (which I won't for a while, fuck paid online and half the "pro" consoles being worse), is it worth getting?

There are parts of 1 and 2 I hate to slog through, but I like to 100% most of the games (might jump straight to Proud mode this time).

Nomura tries to do crazy shit with hints, but its pretty basic.

For example, in the chess game played in one of the KH3 trailers, each piece represents a character, and when those pieces take each other- represents a battle they had.
That same trailer had a calendar and a date in the background- probably the games originally intended release date.

I'd say get a used ps4, D3 is for 2.8 and days is a movie for the collection. I personally got a used pro that miraculously works perfectly. Most of the good games don't need paid online so it's only your choice to get it. If you do get one I suggest yakuza 0 and Kiwami depending on when you get it and gravity rush 2 Along with Kingdom Hearts.

I'd recommend the official mangas for KH if you haven't seen them. They take liberties in places, but it's a good old romp (and especially clever how the Disney characters emote and are in the art-style of their respective films, while any KH characters are strictly anime. I.e. if a Disney character is shocked, it's eyes grow wide. A KH character gets those thick black rings around pupil-less eyes). Especially how Kairi breaks-out of captivity in KH2 (adding some minor interesting lore on how Nobodies think & act).

THOUGH it seems that to play KH 3 at 60fps you WILL need a pro, 0.2 is capped at 30 for the standard.

I'll wait for KH3 final mix.
By then the PS4 will have it's kinks ironed out (or still be shit meaning it's free game for piracy).

The card system which I actually enjoyed was a lot better suited for GBA than it was for Re:Com. Then again, I wasn't a fag that just filled my deck with a bunch of 0 cards, it felt a lot more fun to set aside about 5 minutes to build it just right. Playing as the different Organization members in 358/2 Days could have been a lot better if it incorporated elements from the CoM battle system like BBS did, considering that's how they fight the first time you encounter half of them. Then you would have been able to use a variety of character unique attacks instead of a bunch of shitty magic.

Kinda interested in getting tickets to that Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World Tour thing going on, since they're coming to LA which is pretty close to where I am. Xion may be inferior to Namine in every single way, but she sure has a damn good theme that I'd like to see performed live, vid related. Nothing tops Vector to the Heavens on the DS soundcard though

Sucks man, I'm usually unlucky with where they have events I want to go to since I use to live in the worst part of Texas. I'm still pissed about missing that Pokemon Symphonic Evolutions tour, since it's the same as this, where they have game footage playing to the performance.

I got to see the Legend of Zelda symphony performance and honestly I hated it. The thing with live performances is you can't freely manipulate how loud certain instruments are compared to others in such a limited space. The difference between the recorded and life versions was so jarring it was uncomfortable. When the Pokemon thing came to town I completely passed on it too.
