This isn't even that crazy tbh

good memes

Some background:

DCSS is considered one of the hardest roguelikes currently being maintained, partly from the devs removing helpful features. To make matters worse, Demise (a very good DCSS player) is playing a felid, which is considered the hardest and worst race to play as.

If you want to watch from the beginning, then here's the playlist.

maybe in 0.15 it was, but all later editions are babby tier

...

...

Well, I didn't play it since 0.17, so give me some slack.

...

...

I love hearing people say how shit something truly is than it appears at first glance

oops

Obligatory.

o-okay

Be the chemo that this board needs, post some footage that you think is noteworthy. If not, you're just as cancer.

alright

You should see me with an Estoc in Dark Souls 3.

Appreciate the user who shared this one day, gotta love that first boss

...

The last one is some insane OMAE WA MO SHINDEIRU shit

inb4 memegame strikes once again

Undertale is babby's first bullet-dodger
THIS is what a real man's bullet hell looks like

This game is also pretty hectic.

Sounds like someone gave Droopy coffee.

pretty much any bullet hell makes undertale pale in comparison.

this was the first recorded clear of death label iirc, it happened 7 years after the game was released

wow, I've never managed to get past Justice and those mines always fuck me. Maybe it's because I main Peanut and have to stay close to everything.

Good thread, OP.

Nice, that was 7 minutes well spent.

Sweet.

Always watchable.

WOW seriously, that last one was impressive. That was pure Zen.

this is my favorite competitive CS video. Bit of a classic if you were involved in the scene at the time.

youtube.com/watch?v=nAy0G9VsqpM

this is a cool tf2 video of some japanese pub play from years ago. Yes, contrary to what koktaco told you, there are many japanese PC gamers. They're usually really, really good too.

also I was going to say sk-believe was my favorite CS video but I forgot about two that are equally great

...

This guy sounds unhappy.

I love that one

That Parappa embed is a glitch, whats so impressive about it?

This whole playthrough

It hits all the Rappin' Cool prompts and tries to be entertaining at it. I don't really like TAS, but those that do something different from how the game's intended to be beaten make me smile.

Not the same user, but here's another great one with TAS

...

Not his most skillful video but one of his more entertaining ones to watch.

...

That's fucking great.

This is way too fucking dope

How good is TDM compared to the base game ?

...

Base game?
What?
The Dark Mod is stand alone, man, you don't need a base game to play it.

...

Seeing this video game me some perspective on why Mario64 ended up such a great success.

The legend.

Also this.

I would like to think that this video is the inspiration for Batman vs Superman's depiction of Batman as a horrifying murderer

You never know why you enjoy good stuff or why that good stuff works until you see absolute shit that misses the mark.
Watch MST3K movies that are really crap and you'll gain a sudden appreciation for movies that make really engaging conversations and have good action and choreography in them.
Play shitty platforms and suddenly you understand why Mario 64 is so amazing for it's physics and control.

Recommend me a wad, my favorite is HellGround.

Ancient Aliens, Sunlust, Scythe 2, all the good shit is popular for a reason in Doom.

...

You poor babby

you need to go back

Don't soil a good thread, please.

I meant the original games. Still doesn't answer my question.

more devil may cry 4
last mission cleared in 1:40

You mean Thief Gold/2?

Well, the sound in Thief classic is straight up better, which is tragic but to be expected.
That said, the AI in TDM is far better (though at times is dependent on map, the AI will be fucking horrifyingly alert on some, noticing both missing loot, doors left open and all else), and the handling of shadows is far, far better, since the AI can cast shadows for you to use and the Doom 3 engine lends so well to it.

As well, you have a lot of nice features from Thief 3 in a Thief classic design mindset, so shit like getting rid of bloodstains with water arrows pops up (as well as removing the dropped weapons), or getting rid of smaller candles by hand… But without being stuck in Thief 3.

What are the best missions ?
I've tried some and the quality isn't consistent.

The best missions is to usually just sort by author and find some really prolific guys you like and check out all their shit.
Other than that, ask on the forums for people's favorites and recommendations, they love to be acknowledged.

Personal recommendations are the Thomas Porter series, the Penny Dreadful series, and anything by Melan, Bikerdude, Springheel or Sotha.
Dragofer in particular makes really high quality missions in terms of atmosphere with lots of difficulty.

Also, yeah, you're going to get inconsistent quality when the entire thing is made up of fan missions, basically anybody can make a mission, that's half the appeal, you yourself can make better.

Alright I'll check those out, thanks.

No problem, can we go back to posting high-level gameplay now?

King of shit taste confirmed

For shame Holla Forums, for shame…

I hate Ichirin.

CHINESE

Beautiful

Anything goes
I actually went ahead and watched a bunch more Parappa videos, the scoring system isn't complicated per se, but it leads to some interesting gimmicks.

Another one, a couple of guys trying to complete AWDS in as little days as possible.

that was fucking incredible.

post more fightan

Is there such a thing as high level play in grand strategy games, like EU4?

Usually that's just speedrunning, though sometimes people do challenge runs.
This is from someone who admittedly does not know much on the topic.
Vid related, the guy plays the game without being able to win any battles.

There's an achievement in EU4 where you take the world's most worthless empire and dominate the known world. I guess you might be into that, but otherwise I can only think of self imposed challenges to those games and picking up weaksauce countries.

Platformers?

Damageless, or no upgrade runs tend to do that.
You can see a lot of that in hideofbeast's channel.

In most cases speed really is the best concept since the games lend themselves so well to pure momentum and movement control.
Usually for challenge people just play a particularly challenging level or game.

x6 killed him.

THPS3 in 6 minutes

I hope this guy actually does a full playthrough at some point.

Conc-jumping, my niggers.

This is the kind of shit we could amuse ourselves with prior to the source engine.

This playthrough was so good the next level by the map maker was balanced harder and had to be fucking nerfed, so I hear.

Mikecob is a god.

there's nothing more pathetic than some loser nerds worshipping some other loser nerds who play videogames

...

I see what you are trying to do, and am asking politely to not do it.
Seriously, at least be a little more clever and sage if you're going to bait like that.

...

I mean, I think he just really wanted to emphasize the comedy of it.
He has similar damage build videos of the Dragon and the last Roache mission.

...

...

I love how ridiculous brawlers with restrictive challenge runs end up looking.

That was so insanely creative. I've always wanted to come at a game with a sort of abstract approach like this. It reminds me almost of someone who comes up with their own skateboard tricks or something. Brilliant.

Intense. Gotta love Goldeneye autism.

...

Not as much high level as it is sheer persistence.

Part of me is horrified that this game has a speedrun scene.

...

12 HOURS

Someone needs to redo this in HD with sound, but suffice it to say this is still the most minimal run of a game I've ever seen.

...

this is fucking amazing

The entire playthrough is like this.

sounds like pure videogame kino also note that I used to fucking love this game back in the day and I really loved the short but sweet Tessue campaign.

...

kino?

why u no post fun custom maps like surf_ and stuff that is made by the players for the players to make challenges that the devs would never do

...

That's basically what custom missions on Doom and whatnot are though.

At least post something impressive, I could do that map easily.

...

where tf fuck is the ds speed runs and parry king comps

I literally just see a video of someone doing shit I've done before

And he still is the worst class for MVM. The fact 4 Spy players who actually give a fuck all focused on the goal and got a fuckton of upgrades proves absolutely nothing

I mean, it's not like you can't post 'em.

I don't even play MvM and I know it proves the shit is either
A. too easy
or
B. way too easy to abuse the canteens

Legit not trying to shill my own stuff. Used to play with this guy and he was really good for a console fag. Shit video quality but someone may appreciate some BF3. I've got happy memories, you might see HotSaucerman in the kill feed, that was me.

A classic, very well explained as well.

I liked the easy and mid-tier maps that allowed all classes. Good times trying to escort an engineer from jump to jump with others throwing concs, demoniggers giving the occasional boost, snipers perched on dispensers on the teleport/kill floors for that final kick, teleporting the rest of the team as we made progress.
And getting a sentry at the end on some maps where the two teams' otherwise separated sides met.
