Why don't consoles like the Switch, the PSP, Vita and the 3DS use USBs instead of SD cards?
They're much less expensive, there's many more in circulation and they're just easier.
Just make a small port that fits most usb sticks and give it some kind of cover to hide the USB.

Because using proprietary locked down (and extremely overpriced) SD cards is a deliberate anti-consumer practice.
