Wish this track was longer, but I suppose that just being the title screen theme, I shouldn't be surprised. Plus, the game has "Into the Wilderness" as an actual opening theme anyhow.

I remember this blew me away as a kid. I had no idea the NES sound chip could even do that.

you should look up more of Tim and Geoff Follin's work. most of it is amazing.

Cool, have to look that up. I didn't know he did any games besides the original Solstice (which only had like three tunes in it.)

It was mostly the instrumentation that was impressive … most NES games didn't have that kind of sound.

Same thing with Skate or Die, which actually used samples - at the time it was very impressive.
