There are a lot of good ones, but I think the general consensus would either be Super Star Ultra or the one on the Wii. You can't really go wrong with Kirby though.

Personally, I think my favorite would have to be Amazing Mirror. If you've got 1-3 other people to play with, you should definitely give the multiplayer a chance. Some of my fondest memories are hunting down all the chests in AM with my siblings, the four of us using various different gamepads plugged into my shitty potato laptop and us staring at our respective tiny VBA windows, all open on my already tiny screen. I want to go back to those days

MML might not be for everyone but I'd say it's definitely worth a try. This, however, is a must-play.

Shame for whatever reason this never got cleared to come west, and the patching effort seems to have gone to fan-translation hell. Developed by Atlus (depending on where I look I also see Gust mentioned) with character designs by Yuji Himukai (Etrian Odyssey) and music by Michiko Naruke (Wild Arms).

No English patch at this point though, if that matters to OP. Mato's apparently got a pack of hacking tools for anyone that is serious about translating it, but I don't think he's had any takers.

Might be wrong as to if it's hacking tools. The specification is "translation tools" but on the script end it's hard to think of what those might be (other than maybe terminology). From the screenshots though it seems like something needs to be done in regards to text going above or below the standard lower-case size, since there's stuff like "p" reading as "P" instead.

The second game really is grindy as hell but the first one is alright. If my goddamn ex managed to sperg out and get all achievements, so can any slightly autistic user.

as far as cute games go, cotton is my favorite series. Boomerang is the best game, but fantastic night dreams (especially the turbo CD and x68000/PS1 version), Magical Night Dreams, Panorama, and even Rainbow (although it is the most flawed) are worth playing. I believe it was the video game series that pretty much started the magical girl shoot 'em up genre. There is also Magical Chase that is very fun. Oh and a cute platformer for the SFC called Magical Pop'n.

Regardless of how one feels about Mega Man, it's very odd to see a well known company so intent on killing off one of the series they've been best known for.

It's part of Capcom being so awful to people. Certain administrators got in on shady deals and tried to ruin projects or rivals who use to work under project leads got administrator jobs and worked people to death to try to scare them to quit or just fucked up resources so the project failed. This information is in a lot of video game information sources online and in print.

Good grief. I wonder if any of that plagued the dev team for Ghost Trick, considering how well that one turned out, for a halfway recent Capcom game anyhow.

There's the Violinist of Hamelin for the SNES. The gameplay consist of bullying the girl that hangs around with you by throwing her at enemies or making her dress up in ridiculous costumes so she can get different powers (like an ostrich that takes no damage from spikes).
