We should make two threads and artificially bump them without sticky icon. One would be TF2 grievance thread and second would be Overwatch.
At one moment we would check which IPs clicked on which threads. Depending on which threads someone clicked we could easily determine if he is TF2 player who wants alive game or overcuck.

It´s working actually pretty well. A lot of people complained that at the start of season 3 the ranks weren´t completely resetted, but i definitely had overall way fairer and more balanced matches than in the beginning of season 2.

Exactly what Mercy didn't need. A particularly skilled player can already survive res well enough. The real problem with Mercy has always been her lack of utility. Even if you play her particularly well she just doesn't bring as much to the table as a good Lucio or Ana. Basically it lowers the skill floor but does nothing to help her at the skill ceiling

I'm trying Sombra a lot recently. I'm honestly trying to make her work. Quickplay because I haven't figured her out yet.
Or maybe there isn't a way to figure her out. What the fuck are you suposed to do with her anyway?
The best I can do is keeping myself alive along with two medkits hacked. That usually works in our favour in the long term, but doesn't work if my team gets and early wipe and they no longer rely on the medpacks.
This turns an initial Sombra pick into a gamble: if your team is shit, you just picked someone that loses half the reason for being played.

The other half of it is a sort of "sneak" attack which seems like it would pay off because:
But what I found out was that:
a) The cooldown for de-cloacking takes so fucking long, by the time you get to the back of a low-HP enemy and are able to fire, someone will see you and nuke your ass off the earth.
Usually I end up escaping via teleport, they chase me and at least I'm aprtially usefull as a distraction.
b) Her weapon *seems* downright shit. It's like a poorer version of Tracer's. Bigger clip? Yeah, but deals less damage. I've actually killed more Reinhardts than Genjis because as soon as you start spraying the fuckers will run away before you kill them (or Ice Wall if Mei) unless they have very, VERY low HP which brings me to:
c) The "opportunistic" trait rarely, EVER fucking matters. Everyone is really suicidal in this game. If someone is at low health it's because they just won an engagement and are heading back for a medpack. The ammount of times you are actually close enough to take advantage of this are rather small and too map-dependent. In El Dorado, at the first choke point for instance. It's great. If they haven't passed that initial arch, they'll go for the med kit on the right, if they have, they'll enter the house. So you can keep a tab on things and easily get a couple "opportunistic" kills.
But take Route 66 for instance. That WHOLE MAP is fucking shit except for the last point. Except it's a tiny enclosed space and you lose all the advantage the invisibility could have.

Most people already in a fight and at low HP will try to land a few lucky blows before dying so their team mates get the kill too. Meaning, no chance of you getting kills unless you join the cluster with the shitty guns you have.

It seems Sombra is pigeon holed into a very particular niche of gameplay but her stats make her HORRID at this. At least a damage boost against low HP enemies would improve this massively. Otherwise, she's only useful in very, very rare circumstances. The best she can at all other times is being a nuisance/distraction. And Genji/Tracer already do that far better but actually posing a risk.

The best way to sum her up would be to look at her Ult too. It's the epitome of every problem about Sombra: it's a very short duration massive "silence" effect for every enemy in radius. You can only capitalize on this if:
Take a wild guess at how often does this play out.
Now try to guess how frequently these ones happen:

I have no fucking idea how to play this character. I tried all of them so far. Every single one of them had 2 or 3 different ways to play and while some I decided I could not play that way/didn't like to play that way, most of them I got to a state where I thought "allright, this is how it works and it does work rather well too for me".
Symetra was considered useless but I stil had a pretty good time with it. Heck, I still think Hanzo doesn't really have a reason to be picked 9/10 times but I still manage to do some damage with him.

My comp voice experience is usually pretty good (US-PC). I'd say about 40% of games have at least some people communicating well. Another 40% near-total silence and then the last 20% are people bitching about someone's hero choice. Rank makes a big difference here though, I'm in diamond and sometimes masters.

She might be categorized under "offense" but I've found more success treating her like support and letting teammates do most of the killing. She's offensive because you can slip behind enemy lines to help your team push, but if you stick around trying to get kills you're just gonna fuckin die.

Main problem seems to be the definition of "sticking around".
If you stick around for 2 seconds, you do jackshit except making them look back (which might net a teammate an easy kill, Reinhardts are funny for this).
If you stick longer, you seriously risk dying and the medkits will once again become un-hacked.

Harassement is the main idea, yeah. But unless your team is actually doing something and using their distraction, you're not really helping. I found Sombra to be quite good when I have one or two friends nearby with mic. I mianly get assists but we do win games thanks to her.
But on randoms? Just fucking no, man.

To give you a picture: Phara and Zarya. One of the best Combos you can make. Zarya ults, traping 4-5 guys, shields Phara as she goes up and ults them all with no risk of dying. It's a pretty good combo to pull with friends.
But if you play Phara or Zarya alone, you can still be very effective.

Sombra on the other hand goes from being "pretty good at her job" when you're with friends to "afk but moves around a bit" with randoms.
I like that the game heavily relies on teamwork and no single player can actually carry his whole team, not even the best Genji player can kill a whole team consistently if 2 or 3 of his enemies wise up to his shenanigans.
But this is downright madness.

Also, Red Orchestra tought you the ins and outs of every feature in a very short time.
In a single day you could rotate all classes and learn how they work. From then on, it was just a matter of thinking logically on how they work and where you should use them.
CS had bullshit like the "jump with ms249 and fire two shots while aiming at their feet = insta headshot" and the nades where never used in a logical way except for the flashbang.
And I personally hate the "draw knife out = you run faster" meme. You're carrying the same weight. Would make more sense if you run fast if you had less heavy weapons/less ammo.
Someone with a knife only would be super sonic compared to a guy in kevlar, m249, 3 nades and tons of ammo.

The first one has Zarya and Torb but… who else?
The third one has Widow, Reaper and Sombra but not a 4th element.
The second one has pretty much everyone.

And some heroes have no alligiance anyway.

Carrying something bulky in your hands would slow you down more than simply carrying it on your back. Ever try holding your arms straight at your sides and running full speed? To run at your maximum speed you use your whole body, arms included, so not being able to move them as freely either due to weight or bulk will slow you down a bit. Not a lot mind you, but then again the speed differences in CS aren't exactly huge either.

That really depends on what internet connection you have. If you have a shitty one, then you probably are better off with a 20 tick server. If your internet and computer is good enough than 60 tick is clearly better for you. That´s why good games like Overwatch let you choose what tickrate you want.

I'm gonna be the "contrarian" and say that worrying about tick rate is pointless.
Unless you're playing this for money/professionally, it's just a game. A bullshit death every now and then is akin to bugs in an RPG, eg: not that big of a deal.

But if you wanna split hairs, got it right. If your connection is shit and you join a 60 tick server, you'll see a lot of rubberbanding and weird stuff. That's mainly because your connection can't keep up with the server.
If you have a good connection, 20 tick servers sometimes cause the "get shot behind cover" thing albeit that doesn't happen that frequently in my admitedly anedoctal evidence.
You should always go for the highest tick rate that your connection allows for.
Games that let servers pick what tickrate they run at are perfect precisely because they can catter to a specific crowd.

In effect, all tickrate really does negatively is add a small amount of extra latency to every packet depending on when it arrives between ticks. That can be between 0 and 50ms on a 20 tick server, with the average being about 25. A 60 tick server averages 8ms

Outside of ultra competitive settings, 25ms extra ping isn't really anything to bitch about, and the difference between that and a 60tick server's 8ms is even more trivial. If you have something like 70ms to begin with that's an effective difference of either 78 or 95, which is still good either way.
