Mobius final fantasy

This came out of nowhere and was apparently on mobiles originally. How shit is it?

Final fantasy fucking sucks. Who cares about this bullshit.

Is that what mobile games look like these days? Holy fuck, I'm kind of impressed.

RISC ARM chips that are in phones overpower most CPUs and GPUs in desktops but they lack the RAM on their boards. The x86 is dead at this point and you can look forward to the new handhelds from Sony and Nintendo to basically be phones without a 900MHZ antennae as well as putting an octo core ARM CPU in your next build if you skip ryzen and intel's competition.

Which is depressing since Nintendo switch will lack what smartphones have: multi functionality.

Well it's typical of nintendo to design their machine to not be technically competitive. They design it cheap.

To answer your question for the noble version: it's shitty if you try to compete with the meta players. There are ranking with rewards that can't be bought or dropped. Won't affect the game but still a conpletionist reward. Same thing with the in game stores as it has a gatcha system that usually takes thousands of dollars to get the top items AND very expensive items (the job card for Tidus for example is about $60. The same price as a full game).
Now if you don't care about min/max or compete with the whales and dolphins then the game is pretty in visual and story to go with it for free. There's multiplayer coop too but might be restrictive if you want to play the hard modes. Gameplay is very simple with some shitty equation in the middle for orb generations with the usual elemental advantages.

Fuck's sake, a shitty mobile game doesn't deserve to have a cool-looking Amano logo like this.

Well it's free. I'd say give it a try.

That's what I'm afraid of. I can just smell the paywall from here.

I'm still confused as to what this game is really about, but it's always seemed interesting.

Nigger WHAT?

While that makes sense, kvetching isn't really going to help determine whether the game is actually fun or not.

Woah, holy shit. I know it's a port of a mobile game, but how is something like this not even a full GB?

Take a look at the files when you get it, I'm interested in this too. Maybe all the models are upscaled to crazy when you view them and the music is some crap sample rate? I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Never mind, they're full of shit. This 3GB day one patch probably contains most of the content.

Probably like it's mobile version and you have to download the rest of the files within the game. It's about 1.6Gb with the latest version.

The paywall starts when you want to compete with the whales. Not sure where they get the money to spend $5000 a month. Otherwise the story and multiplayer is manageable without spending anything. You get in game cash which you'll have to manage properly and watch the Japanese calendar for any future items (Global is still behind theirs and for the best so we can predict what OP items will be out soon).

Also, it looks like the models are all just really low-poly with low-res textures. It's all just fancy lighting.

Oh geez.

So it looks like the whole thing is controlled with only the mouse. "Full controller support" equates to using the analog stick to move the mouse cursor around, and L3 and R3 interact with everything. They seriously didn't even bother adapting the controls for PC, that's pathetic.

Doesn't surprise me that was left in there. I mean, looking at the Vita port for Adventures of Mana (a remake of SD1), the on-screen icons and meters take up a LOT of screen space compared to what a console/handheld game would normally have, probably because it was a mobile game first and were too cheap and/or lazy to change things.

>Modern Squeenix remade SD1 AGAIN
Fucking kill me, please. Come to my home and blow my brains out.

To be fair, I think Sword of Mana for the GBA is considered more "reimagining" than direct remake like this can supposed to be (at least to my knowledge; I seem to remember some user saying that AoM doesn't have stuff like the girls route from Sword of Mana).

The sad thing is that initially they didn't think westerners would want Adventure of Mana on an actual system compared to demand to have it on phones, so it was mobile only out here until sometime last year after enough people groveled to them. Aside from a few cursory efforts (FFX/X-2 HD, Deadman's Cross, and more recently Dragon Quest Builders and World of Final Fantasy) Square-Enix seems to fucking hate bringing stuff for the Vita overseas.

This is a shitty generalization, and only applies to the 98% of desktops that are prebuilt office workstations with Celerons. The same principle applies to the smartphone market, though. Most people don't have an octa-core ARM.

Oh, you're just pretending to be retarded. Carry on.

So does the multiplayer have any sort of level sync function or is it impossible to actually play with friends like all the other mobile shit like this?

Square has been porting everything they can to PC, hell they even ported 9 which is strange because they destroyed the original source code.
Only a matter of time before they port XV and consoletards loose their shit.

No need for level sync as you can play with higher leveled players as level 1. The question is if they will quit your party halfway if you keep dying. But to answer your question: yes you can play with your friends no matter the levels.

Problem is how long it takes to port the games. By the time it's ported no one will give a shit see dragons dogma

I imagine they found it again. And I guess I'd be a quarter interested to see a vagrant story port.

Yes you can account share between PC, iOS and Android. I just loaded my Android account on the PC. Which only really matters because my Android account has 21 gift boxes.

Can you use the same account? Tried that on android and iOS but it'd like their other games and deactivates one which you're transferring from.

The game immediately closed on my PC after putting my account in, so I closed it on my phone and then relaunched it on the PC. So I'm not sure if the game is SUPPOSED to do that, or if it closed to prevent me from playing on two devices simultaneously.

So my answer is "I am unsure, and can't give you a definitive answer." But I haven't played the game on my phone in so long, and don't really want to anyway, so if it's no longer available on my phone it's not an issue for me.

Well I mean, isn't it pointless to play with friends if you (or they) oneshot everything?

I heard the global version is way behind in content and removed some f2p ways to get premium stuff.

It's not easy to oneshot but usually it's safe if the lower levelers play has healers to avoid dragging down the party. Eitherways it's easy to level in this game so don't worry about that too much.

It's behind and yes they eliminated some of the gatcha randomness by allowing you to roll the same jobs you've already acquired. For cards you'll be rewarded with items for duplicates. But then they introduced the fixed premium job pull if you pay $60. The $1000 dollar cards still exist though so don't put your hope high.

*to not roll the same jobs

they probably just lied about it because Sakaguchi loved it so much and they seemed to be hellbent on purging any trace of him from the company.

Why do they hate furries?

Ok I decided to give this shit a shot. What should I be spending my summon tickets on?

I don't think that's real.

It is when you translate it

...

whats a legendary job and why is it paywalled?

also shit this looks too good to be a p2w freemium, goddammit. why couldn't it be truly free with balanced microtransactions like let it die.

Legendary jobs are no longer paywalled. An example of a Legendary job (which is only available in August, apparently) is Tidus the Blitzball Striker from Final Fantasy X.

why would anyone want to have his job set as HAA HAAAA HAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

We have 10 years left of processors in their current form. That’s it. There’s no more Moore’s Law, there’s no more clock speed increases, there’s no more “just add more cores”. When we hit 7 nanometer transistors, it’s over. It’s the fundamental limit of materials science for this type of machine.

That’s why everyone is panicking and trying to either make quantum processing viable for more than just specialized computations or looking into more exotic forms of logic node structures.

To do it for the lulz, I suppose. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

also, speaking of the game. i got to the part where you rescue mog and its already boring as hell.

the gameplay is your typical "build a card deck to attack!" mobile bullshit with all these random numbers thrown around to make it seem like you're making progress.

what a shame, story looked interesting and so did that garland, but the gameplay is formulaic mobile garbage. even if it was 100% free its still a huge chore to play through, so i'll be passing on this one, hope whoever can put up with it has fun.

So just to let people know, there's a vast difference between specialized job cards and the three basic job cards with class cards. For example, an Onion Knight Dark Knight will be far weaker than a Dark Knight who gains the job via the Dark Knight job card. And unlike the Japanese version of the game, you can not gain duplicates of the same class card for skill seeds, so every time you do a card pull for a job, you will get a new job.

The worst part is that the game still suffers from the design of its mobile roots. Every move you make on the map (aside from teleporting) consumes stamina. You get a limited number of stamina equal to your character level, and you gain 1 point of stamina for every 5 real-time minutes (logged in or not). You also get 1 magicite for every 10 minutes (also logged in or not), but to get your magicite you have to click the little blue orb in the top corner.

EVERYTHING in the game takes magicite to buy, or can be traded for specialized cards related to it. Gil is practically worthless, I have fucking 11 million gil and nothing to do with it.

Also your distillation can only hold 100 magicite at a time, so if you don't click on the orb, then you stop gaining magicite.

yeah i realized gil was worthless when i started and got 10 million as a "starter gift"

why bother putting a number in the game if you're going to make it useless? just remove it altogether.

So what's the gameplay actually like?

turn based, you attack with cards you equip.

do you even read nigger?

Just combat. Battles and battle preparation and nothing else.

I'll stick to granblue then. At least with granblue I can actually play a game on my pc at the same time.

Three easy steps to not completely hating FF Mobius:
Step 1) Go into options and TURN THE FUCKING MUSIC OFF. Consider the volume and voices too.
Step 2) Get into battle, hit the AUTO button.
Step 3) Now hit the Fast Forward button for combat.

There, now the game sucks 1000% less.

I think that i doubly bad since when you start it is holding 1000, basically deceiving you to thinking the cap is higher.

Is it? I can't remember that long ago. I started playing back in the Summer last year, and promptly gave up on the game in only a week with less than 4 hours played tops. I've played more in the last 24 hours than I have in 6 months.

Fucking cockatrice is so disproportionately strong compared to all the other Chapter 1 bosses. I killed him without any items the first time, now he basically dunks my face in the toilet every time. What the fuck.

Is this the new shitty Mobage garbage where all the weeaboos will congregate now?

Ebin, but after playing mobage for a couple months I'm starting to agree. Get out while you can.

Fuck, need to get the Jessie card for my Devout. She's got a nice ability. And possibly nice tits too.

Echo is best girl.

what the hell is a Mobage

Weeb abbreviation of "mobile game". If it's a mobage, there's a 99% chance of irredeemable garbage.

Wooooooow, it's almost like they decided to make Cloud into an altruistic good guy for some stupid reason. Lest we all forget that Cloud only went to the Mako Reactors to play bodyguard for hire, not do something about them.

If the FF7 remake is anything like this, then only a retard would actually be keen for that. Let's take everything about this character, turn it on its ass!

Is there any analytics/tracking bullshit embedded into the game? I'm too lazy to read the EULA fully through.

Nothing but shallow garbage timesinks with no redeamable features.
Nothing but addiction to a shiny skinnerbox.

That needs a Punished Holla Forums edit and banner treatment

The game tracks how long you've been playing (so it can tell you to take breaks every 2 hours), but otherwise no.

Gaming altogether is a fucking skinnerbox, and anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves.

You mean 100%.

Stop projecting your shit taste to everubody else you pleb

...

No, I mean 99%. There are two phone games from Japan that I found to be somewhat tolerable.

they were probably garbage too

That's Gachas for you.

I should note that the Warrior from Job Draw is flat out better then the one that Onion Knight "evolves" to.

I had the same experience, i was hoping for Dancer and got Dark Knight.

Oh and a general piece of advice, don't spend Magicite on ANYTHING but the gift box when starting out since it basically costs the same as a pull and gives you enough tickets for a pull and other shit, and with 100 Magicite a day it is basically just enough that you can afford a new one when you are allowed to buy another one.

If you are playing religiously like some goddamn cuck that its.

I already explained the evolution vs the specialist cards up above.

Yeah, I read about that.
I don't suppose there's an Onion version of Red Mage?

Apprentice Mage evolves into Red Mage, I THINK. But there's a Red Mage job specialization card.

I'm fine being weaker than a real Red Mage if it means I don't have to wait possibly years for the gacha to be nice to me

Oh I was wrong. Apprentice Mage goes to White and then Black, but not Red. You can go Red Mage by getting the Red Mage card. Bear in mind that Red/White/Black only really differs based on their auto ability and their elemental affinities.

"F2P"? That should be a red flag like nothing else.

Okay, well, that's not entirely accurate… I mean Red Mage has its own upgrade hierarchy and the such… Anyway…

White Mage = Fire/Water/Earth
Black Mage = Water/Wind/Earth
Red Mage = Fire/Wind/Earth

White Mage on its own turns into a Combat Surgeon. Black Mage on its own turns into a Archmage. Red Mage on its own turns into a Sorcerer. Then there's Light/Dark classes, like the Devout which turns into the Revenant…

Basically there's a lot of progression and classes and room to grow, it'll take you a long time to max everything out (should you choose to do so).

mobius.gamepedia.com/Red_Mage_(Job)
Here's a full description of the Red Mage class for ya.

Could be worse.

...

Imagine if someone did something crazy like grind out all the materia needed to reach panel 4 of one of the base classes in chapter 1.

I bet a korean has already done that with the phone version.

Jesus how bad is your taste? Or are you playing as a thief/mage? Their music is shit compared to the warrior classes.

APOLOGIZE

it's just a mobile game so fucking shit

APOLOGIZE

APOLOGIZE

stop bumping this shit game with shitning

A friend of mine got a nice laugh with the game

Seriously, if you manage to be active on a mobage for EIGHT FUCKING HOURS, health is the least of your problems.

Got some source/info to read up on that?

I've had the game tell me to take a break at the 40 hour mark, but it still doesn't quit you out.

Here’s more on the concept. The problem (right now, at least) with the solutions he’s proposing is that we have absolutely no way to reliably manufacture any of them at all, much less on any sort of industrial scale. That’s part of why you keep seeing Intel push back the release dates of its processor families; they’re literally just buying time while they scramble to try to figure this shit out before they hit 7nm and can’t go any further.

Not that they really give a shit about the customer anymore. AMD isn’t even trying and the kikes are the only real company on the market, so they can charge whatever they want and never update.

...

I would have preferred Dark Knight but hey we got something at least
Is there a way to see the actual difficulty of a mission and or level expectency? I went from absolutely dominating the Mako reactor 1 boss (red difficulty) to struggling against the path to the Mako 2 reactor (green difficulty)

I wonder if this doing well on Steam would mean they would bring over Kingdom Hearts X, their other "big" Mobage game, now that i think about it.

The FFVII event is based on player level, so it is utterly pathetic for new players.

Just be sure to equip that Masamune(+) since it is fucking absurd, even at initial state it is better then most 2-star weapons just ebcause that Life Orb pull means you can spam buffs and the recycling on top of that is plain overkill.

Honestly the Difficulty rating is kinda wonky, As Dark Knight with Masamune i do 4-star difficulty missions and finish with full health regularly (Got a Biggs Card, which gives Haste and HP drain, and usually rent something that gives another buff or a Heal), Ice-Fire-Wind seems to be a favorable Elemental configuration early on, so DRK is definitely a advantage for the Event maps, i didn't lose a single battle in the whole event and i done it as far as i can (Popped some elixirs.), im currently just cleaning up Chapter 2 and did the event right after the Tournament missions in that Chapter.

Other then that, possibly "Buy" a boosted Salamander with Ability Tickets if Samurai uses Fire, it only costs like 9 tickets boosted and hits pretty hard on shit that is suffering Break, the "flaw" of that card and other+ ones is that they are locked in their Star Rank and can't be Augmented, ergo the cheapness.

And if you have ONLY been pulling job cards so far you probably should do at least one pull from the Greater to get some initial 3-Star abilities to work from.

And i shouldn't need to say i haven't spent a cent right? just been playing while shitposting, so i KNOW there is a rock wall coming up, arguably imn already hitting it since cleaning up these map points costs like fucking 16-20 stamina per one, as trivial as they are.
