It has the ancient history part, some battles, some legends, some adventuring, some god-tier sorcery and even some sort of detectivesque chapter.

I'd give them a month or so to fix their shit. They've promised there WILL be server wipes until the game gets optimised. Until then, single player works fine. If you want to play it safe I'd wait to try it until online mode is playable, then play the pirated version and then buy it if by then you think it's worth it. It's gonna be on EA for quite a while, so there's no need to hurry.

I bought it based on the music and the atmosphere too. For this part they've truly nailed it. I like that they've included pretty little things like Thulsa Doom's snek arrow.
As for iron you will need a furnance, tools and a tannery to get leather to repair said tools. But totally worth it because 2x speed harvesting and because you'll wreck pretty much every creature out there up until mid-game areas, crocs included.

Crimes are randomly generated per character, and some of them are hilarious.

There is a 4-day old denuvo-free version floating around.

When you leave the server your character doesn't. That's why it's so important to go to a safe place to sleep. Or to choose a server which has this option turned off.

That's just for the first bed. Next tier bed is fine.

I never got past the first tier of crafting because shit was slow.

Characters become unconscious or "sleep".
That's why it's so important to do it at a shelter.
Then again, many servers have this turned off because it just sucks to die or get looted in your sleep.
But this is confirmed not a final feature. They're currently thinking of better ways to implement this.

Telling people to pay them or they would raid. I heard their attitude and began building a fortress. All of a sudden their tune changes and they start saying, " How did you get in our base?" Then they started saying admin abuse.

Evidently they had built a large impenetrable castle and were being dicks. They said its a PVP server we arn't greiifing. Mind you I am still feverishly trying to build a castle to at least make their raid on me costly. The admin logged in and went full god mode and just flew around noclipping and destroying their base. They were saying it was admin abuse and I was telling them it was crom.

tl;dr the reign of terror of a band of raider was stopped by the one true god on any server, the admin. Now High Castle sits ruined and dark and only the story lives.

I was giddy to hear the admin smack them down as I mined my stone. I had been living in fear of them for the last 4 hours.

I found friend on my steam friend playing it and am building near him on a server. Just got thrall and captured a styrgian task master. can't do anything with that after an hour of pick axing trees so now thrilling a fighter thrall. nice three story home. steam friend gave me some t2 building mats but I fuclk those up when the server choked and had to break them down. but since I have been farming bark he is happy. farm bark by using the pick axe instead of the ax. just made a bunch of leather.

Dunno about Exiles but I can tell you the Ark devs are kike scum faggots. Ark is barely playable unless you have a 1080 and these faggots keep pumping out content instead of fixing it. What's more, they then release a PAID EXPANSION in Early Access when the game is barely playable.

This is a Conan game, so there's only one thing, and one thing only I care about:

How's the swordfightan'? If I can't satisfyingly crush my enemies and drive them before me, then in the trash it goes.

Combat is fairly basic in this build with normal attacks and heavy attacks for every melee weapon, there's a dodging system and the game has shields. Weapons include 1 handed hammers, 2 handed hammers, swords, spears, daggers, bows and crossbows as far as i'm concerned.

It's shit right now. Devs want to completely redo it in the future. They've got combos, executions, special moves, etc planned.

The system from the MMO was surprisingly intricate if I recall correctly so maybe the devs can come up with something good for Exiles.

The combat system? Yeah, I remember it was pretty neat.

For the uninitiated, you'd use directional basic attacks, and all your ability attacks had associated directions. Enemies would have 3 bars of "guard" that they'd put in different directions, and they'd respond to taking damage. So you could do a bunch of basic left attacks, making them put their guard left, then pull out a powerful ability attack that went top or right, dealing shitloads more damage because they're not guarding that side.

And all of this was in a system that was actually tab-target, turning the boring WoW routine into something with much more depth.

I actually quite liked that MMO, it's a shame you needed to subscribe to have any real fun with it.

The fact that Conan has established lore means it's harder for the devs to justify adding the shitton of content that ARK devs have (like the fuckton of dinos). IMO ARK's problem here is that the devs have the excuse of adding more and more shit to give the illusion that they're improving the game when they really should be making it more playable.

Funcom is also a "real" studio for what it's worth.

By the way, the base is a clusterfuck at this point, and we should redesign the entire thing around a central compound. I'd love to do a villa along the lines of pic related, not quite that scale but you get the idea. Open interior, housed exterior. I'll be able to make bricks soon, so we'll be immune to people with iron weapons.

Also don't be alarmed when you see people around the base. We've got an archer, a dancing black man in the house, and I've got a tanner that's almost done.

We don't need any additional facilities, so what I'm thinking is that we expand on the current base as soon as I can do brickwork properly. We'll build outwards with brick foundations, and once it's suitably large, we turn it into a fortified villa. If we make it big enough, or leave one end open, we can keep expanding as necessary to accommodate new facilities.

So for now, the focus will be on gathering materials. We'll need fuckloads of stone.

Once we've got a few people on, we'll also want to go raiding. We should find some other camps and get additional thralls. A second wheel of pain, located at the main camp, would be beneficial.

They clearly plan to. They already have a slider in there for physique even though it doesn't work yet. And they're keeping an eye on what the players say, so customization is very likely to expand. Just like with combat they started with the most basic version to minimize complaints - minor face adjustment, height adjustment, tiddy/benis sliders, and hair and skin options.

Alright, I'm downloading the 23580/9921 build right now and gonna test this shit.

Hopefully this shit ends up blowing the fuck out of ARK, ARK's devs are ultra-kike cunts and refuse to optimize the game so that those with anything less than a 1070/1080 can actually play the fucking thing properly, but they're happy to put out paid expansions during early-access. Hell I still remember when ARK was supposed to be 'finished' back around July 2016 (this was when I first heard about it at the start of 2016). The fact that they've been talking shit about this really gives me some hope, though I wouldn't know the first thing about the Conan franchise so in its current state I can't really get into it as is.

Password tends to fail. Server restarts screw everything up nicely and require it to be manually set, otherwise it shows a password prompt but will accept anything. I've had password functionality switch on and off seemingly at random.

By using region lock, I can block the most cancerous playerbases - Slavs, BRs, and chinks, who are something like 90% of the people who pirated the game. Most of the people who are left with the ability to access it are english speakers, and aren't obnoxious fucks. It allows a population slightly greater than the half dozen or so from here that play, so we can still have little raids and some light PVP, without the experience degrading into a gigantic shitfest of minmaxed clans rushing tech tiers (which the 20-player cap also helps with).

If I ever buy the game, I'll probably set up a proper server. Not sure if I'd keep the pirate box around or not, but if I don't, I'll gladly distribute the world file so people can rehost or dick around in singleplayer.

The way this works is that if I remember right the nonlethal damage of truncheons doesn't scale with the lethal damage from strength. As a result, you have to give them a breather or you end up smashing their brains in even if you never use an ounce of lethal force proper.

Alternatively, truncheons don't deal nonlethal damage in the first place, but rather apply the knockout status effect past a certain percentile HP threshold on hit. Said threshold is low and finnicky and you end up clubbing their head in instead if you're not dealing just the right amount of damage to knock them out without knocking them out permanently.

I finally got around to implementing an autorestart script, so there should be significantly less downtime. Settings should remain the same, no password.

Well whenever I try to join it just kicks me back to the menu, even after restarting the game.

Does it give an authentication error? Seems to have something to do with the server thinking you're still connected, it's happened to me a few times and the only fix is restarting the server or waiting a while.

I might bounce the server, good chance to test the autorestart script anyway before I fuck off for the night.
