It could be set in the forest where you hunt fish and defend your territory, it could be in the suburbs where you emerge every now and then to fuck with people and their trash cans. There's honestly not much you can do with most animals as the playable character unless it's sort of cartoony somehow. There are movies made about animals that have them as characters but I'm not sure that translates as well to a video game. Animated movies tend to be where a lot of known animal characters are outside the rare cat or dog. Like we have Stuart Little, Charolette's Web, etc. but those are made for young audiences. There's other stuff like Frog and Toad, but those are just made as books for kids. What exactly would you make for a bear as far as games go that doesn't take liberties somewhere, even if just talking to other animals but not humans?

Ever played Jaws Unleashed? Its pretty much exactly what you want but with a shark.
Its a spin-off game based on the Jaws movies thats fucking great to play. Unfortunately its one of those games that got critically panned by the critics while the actual players loved it. The metacritic page says it all.

If you put fishing and hunting in it could be pretty interesting. Generally the problem I see with Bear Simulator is that the environments look ugly and the wildlife is sparse. It also seems like the dev is a massive faggot. A good bear simulator would probably need good visuals to improve immersion.

Well to even attempt making the game interesting in that sense you'd need a competent developer who actually knew a thing or two about wildlife, how bears hunt, how bears defend themselves and protect territory, etc. Also since there'd be minimal interaction outside of survival I could see the game getting boring fairly fast for people. I just don't see it being done, even No Man's Sky could pull any shit off in its open ended exploration and it had the backing of Sony. If you're a bear you likely couldn't interact with anything that wasn't either food or another bear, and bears don't go after animals like a general carnivore does.

They got a video game planned at least. It's not going to star any of them, though.

First, we have Terra Branford from Final Fantasy VI - a game well known by it's Eastern+Western, Medieval+Futuristic artstyle that laid the basis for everything the series would be in the future.
An example of not only character design, but identity building.

Now, the other four are from Mobages.
Age of Ishtaria, Legend of the Cryptids, Rage of Bahamut and Granblue Fantasy.
These games have 0 good things going on for them, but still gathered many people towards them. Why? Due to the artstyle and the artsyle alone.
People play these games because of the art, just as an example of how powerful visual stimulation is (throughout history, a constant, as beautiful art inspires and captivates).

Something based off of Mikagura School Suite would be cool. You could make it an MMO with very in-depth character creation and customization, and lots of options for powers and such. You could even name your own signature move. The main characters of the series would show up in the "story" quests. The main aspect would be organizing into clubs with other players and engaging in the PvP tournaments.

The developers for Ark are complete ass hats and I have no interest in trying Ark anymore. Also it seems like a grind heavy game where it's now really easy to lose all your hard work if a server gets invaded by a tribe and wrecks all your stuff.
