Well, Funcom did make age of conan. I know there are some hardcore conan fans in that studio, and now that Ragnar Tørnquist has left the company there might be some hope. Ragnar Tørnquist is Norways own Randy Bobandy Bitchford.

Not that I know anything about the studio but that sounds pretty good. Having the established world to work from might keep them on track as well so they don't get too ridiculous.

No. M&B Warband has had a persistent world RPG mod for some time (named just that, PW), where servers track player status and progress and whatnot. Much like ARK and Rust and the like, it's not really an MMO. It's certainly not massive, playerbase at any given time is more akin to a normal FPS server. Hosting is simple and can be done by anyone at home as it completely lacks the scale of a normal MMO, but it's still MMO-like in features - namely persistence of the character between sessions, setting it apart from games that are simply "multiplayer online", which you could label literally anything multiplayer with.

The name fits, and distinguishes it from an actual MMO well enough.

Needs a LOT of work still, but even in the buggy state it's in now you can get a decent amount of enjoyment out of all the lore details and standard survival fare.

I honestly wouldn't recommend spending money on it if it doesn't look good to you already, as it's possible that it might be cracked before too long.

The devs really love Conan. All the items in the game and descriptions for things like character races are full of lore from the books, and the game itself takes place between two of the books Xuthal of the Dusk (The Slithering Shadow) and A Witch Shall be Born.

Watching streams of it is just depressing. There are some neat ideas in there and the setting is perfect for the genre. But christ it's in such a bad state technically. I don't know how they thought it was a good idea to release it with such laughable netcode. I bought it. It's pretty fun beyond just memes if you're into Conan or survival games. The building isn't as shitty as some other games and some of your choices during character creation actually matter. Mainly your religion, which determines certain items you unlock and what avatar you summon right now. There's also actual "dungeons" and shit in the form of ruins and caves instead of just randomly generated landscapes like in Ark. There's little lore tidbits hidden all around and shit like that. The server owner has a lot of control over how everything plays as well, so it'd be easy to customize it to the majority of our liking.

I'm a Conan fan and I'm a sucker for punishment. I've been looking for a new game and got this on the cheap. So far it's not fantastic, but I'm having a good deal of fun.

Also the cock slider thing doesn't actually happen. The game has a set of defaults and will save any changes made during character creation if you click off of it and then back on. I assume someone gave the Darfarian a big dick, clicked off of it, then clicked back on in the .gif you're referencing. The nudity's not even the default option. If you don't have it on then people have loincloths instead.

Aquilonians are basically romans, but aren't playable I don't think because they're an empire, not a race. They're lumped in as Hyboreans. They're playable, as well as Cimmerians.

Depends on the breed of Orc, they aren't all the same actually. Some orcs are fairly small and goblin-like but some are bred specifically to be bigger and tougher, not to mention that they do get fit as they fight and survive battles.
