I think it was around Hoenn that the anime died with Normalfags. The 5th movie was the last one to be released in theaters and was likewise the least successful of the theatrical releases. For everyone else the anime stuck around until TPC took over and changed the VAs and now only turbo-autists give a fuck about the anime

I'm only a few hours in but so far New Order appears to just be a refinement of all the earlier games systems. Which is nice but in a monhun kind of way makes earlier games clunky enough to feel redundant. Dawn/Dusk were good but a little too straight jrpg and cybersluts does that better.

The reason the monsters spoke in human language is because they aren't supposed to be dumb animals for humans to tame, they are supposed to be your friends.

Digimon World 1 2 and 3, with Rumble Arena and Card Battle were some of my most favored PS1 games. I tried DS Digimon games back in the day but they were garbage to me. With RE: Digitze translated I saw hope of more good Digimon games. Then came out the Cyber Sleuth oh boy! and now New Order. It's awesome, totally awesome.

I wouldn't mind the DS games if they weren't almost all the same or at least had stories worth playing through.

I'll admit I've never played or watched anything digimon related except for the first three seasons of the anime, but are these charts actually cannon? Because it doesn't really feel like they are.

Digimon dont have a set default like Pokemon. The results of digivolution are based on their stats, weight, mood and connection to their tamer.

One nice thing about the new Digimon World is everytime you praise, scold, feed or care for your Digimon it adds a bit more info on "if you want to digivolve into Gatomon you need to reach these stat points".

I will also say that Numemon is a penalty digimon who is "as weak as a rookie" because you failed to raise your digimon right. The flipside is that if you step your game up and train them well, they turn into a super strong digimon Every generation has one:

New world order is bretty gud minus the few odd times it froze.

The pokemon fanbase is larger and we notice their autism more, but digimon certainly has its share of autism bait. As a fan of both, I would definitely say that Digimon has more autistic content. The lore is a mess of a multiverse with anime seasons being stealth-sequels to japanese only video games for consoles westerners have never heard of. The true bad guy of the entire series, who directly drives the plot of three different anime seasons (one of which isn't even in the same universe) isn't even mentioned in the anime at all, and only appears in said video games. The video games that were released here aren't even the same universe either, but oh wait, they are, but they're only linked by a spinoff card game. The stories regularly take for granted that you not only watch every alternate continuity and play every spinoff game, but keep your eyes peeled for minute details that end up slowly building up plots in the background for years before they finally become important (like the Royal Knights).

Pokemon is for casual autists, autists who aren't autistic enough to put in the time and effort it takes to understand Digimon's autism.

Mugendramon was only created as part of a drawn out time loop plot so Millenniummon could create himself. Millenniummon is best digimon.

They at least used the Dark World as a prison to send Demon to. It would be cool if that got picked up again, even in later seasons. I mean if it's all a multiverse anyway, then anyone else, even from another universe, can just open up that world again and continue that plot.

People act like that plot was dropped harder than it was. Basically, it was a world that made the negative emotions of a person thrive and become physical, just like the digital world makes digital information physical, and that other universe they go to at the end makes dreams physical. Once the characters get over their negative emotions, they don't need to worry about the Dark World anymore, and just send bad guys there.

Not really, most stories are self-contained. Besides I think the Milleniummon saga died with the Wonderswan games, after that there really hasn't been any serious effort to make new several-games-long sagas (besides DW1 and Next Order).

The people in charge of this franchise are retarded for not bringing over any of the games that actually have to do with the anime, which is obviously the most successful part of the franchise worldwide. I know that as a kid, I was very disappointed that Digimon World had nothing to do with the anime, and then disappointed again when Digimon World 2 also had nothing to do with the anime, and then I didn't get 3 because they weren't gonna trick me twice. If they had brought over the WonderSwan games and put them on Game Boy or something I'd have been all over that shit, but the only one they bothered to do that for was a shitty platform fighter, and they didn't even port the upgraded version of the game, they used the vanilla version instead.

1 2 and 3. really there is no beating the original trio.

the creators have changed, and their minds seem to have simplified. now they make mostly moeshit characters and simplified gameplay that pales in comparison, but with improved modern graphics.

digitize was a simplified clunky DMW1, DMW1 had all this hidden stuff around the world, it had curling, it had hidden areas, digitize had nothing but coliseum battles.
cyberslut was a straightforward, linear, average JRPG with barely any decent sidequests. remember DMW3 trying to find the Kicking Boots and fishing rod? the hidden ultimate weapons? the hidden black agumons who fought you with the strongest cards? the hidden NPCs who would give you the different rookies? and he multitude of hidden bosses all over the map who weren't markered like they are in cyberslut?

it truly feels like, aside from becoming japan-only, in these last 10 or 12 years the digimon franchise games have massively casualized to appeal to mentally ill otakus who are bad at videogames.

i don't have much hopes for Next Order, i don't expect it to be a bad game mind you, i just expect it to be as unpolished and lacking as decode

Okay, I'm gonna admit I'm an idiot here and can't figure out how to play Digimon World 1. I boot it up, get my digimon, and am told to explore. So I walk around a bit, deal with the shit battle system, and by my third battle or so my Digimon gets killed, and it doesn't even feel like my fault since I can't really command him. I thought I'd have to go train at the gym but then I get told that the game punishes you severely for overtraining. So wtf? Am I just supposed to try to stealth my way past everybody? I'll never gain any experience that way. Is it some sort of matter of training a tiny bit at the gym each day and just waiting until my guy evolves before actually going to play the game? That can't be it. That would be horrible.

world 1, world 2, and world 2003 are the best games, it only gets casualized and linear down the line. new games are still something to spend time on, but they just don't compare.

as for animemes, i guess the original 3 too. some people seem to be really fond of Savers (the 5th series) but i hated it. also pretty much everyone hates the 2nd series, i loved it just because veemon is best mon.

Tamers> Adventure 01 > Frontier > Adventure 02 > Savers > Fusion.
Fusion kinda starts out well then declines between seasons.
