Is anyone else seriously impressed with just how well this game has done?

What started as a little project by someone who'd been crushed by their idol has turned into a huge, multi-million follower title with an insanely dedicated fanbase, meanwhile the developer's (former) idol's project, Skullgirls, is left to rot by both the fighting game community and the internet at large.

Yandere Simulator should serve as a real inspiration to any smaller devs out there, especially those struggling against a torrent of negativity and mean-spirited criticism.

I'm impressed with how the dev is still rolling with it after all that time.
I'm unimpressed with several choices in the direction that it took.

In all seriousness, I think he will release a ""final"" version of the game at some point, it's just going to be a fucking mess. Being funded by Patreon definitely doesn't incentivize delivering a finished product, though.

Oh, I'm sure he'll take whatever assets he's cobbled together, slap a 1.0 on top of it and call it a finished product. And then he'll start the cycle anew with a new campaign asking for shekels to release the "definitive" edition of the game, the game he always wanted to make but didn't have the means.

Then again, cuckdev is a complete idiot so he'll find a way to fuck it up.

He wants to release a "stable" "beta" of the game and then create a kickstarter campaign to finish the game, because 5000 patreon dollars per month isn't enough apparently.

Where guard routes are a fucking rectangle, with very little witnesses because the engine and code is so unoptimized it cannot handle more than 20 pieces of shit onscreen, yeah the game did get performance boosts but it's no where fucking close to solid 60fps during INTENSE scenes like what the fuck is this crap, the game also has the whole anime theme going on and its trying to be a game where "its all cute and pretty but actually its a murder simualtor xddd", real fucking epicepicpeicpecipeicepcipe. Tied with the meme/10 dating simulator almost ripped out of shitty fucking weeb games, that's a fucking top meme, literally epic, fucking ecks dee all the way. What about the stupid garbage gay shit where you watch multiple cutscenes back to back for MUHSTORY.
