It's like the dark realm doesn't actually want people there, since it's hard as fuck to get to and easy as sin to actually leave, yet aqua in all her stubborn glory won't let her self get yellow eyes and leave.
Also why are there two explanations for crested heartless? Why are there 4 types of keyblades including the chi-blade? Is Terra the dark guardian that Ansem uses? Why are there so many plot holes?

2FM is pretty good but it's not that fucking good.

Every KH has a win button or more to the point a win move.
KH1: Aeroga, even on hard it eats so much damage you can use this in combination with Cure to always head on tank anything in the game. combined with Goofy with only gift constantly replenishing MP and you probobly having only ether you're like a wall of spikes

KH2=: Reflect, someone probobly didn't think that someone would use this to this extent but it's so fucking strong.
This one is the sad moment where an oversight on the power of a move got in and it's a case of the nuke and the twig, if you have the nuke why use the twig.

BBS = Raging Storm
This is the least known one but this can be used in a tech to kill mysterious stranger in under 10 seconds.
Can be obtained pretty early game with the melding for it being just 2 Fira's (10% of the time)
The attack is meant to hit something by walking into it then launch it up and you continue your assault, but by tapping movement you're resetting it's attack property and by doing so let it constantly attack doing devastating damage, you're also in a hyper armor state so anything getting out is having armor themselves and out DPSing you they can't.
Next time you play BBS try it, I'm sick of people complaining this move is shit when it has an exploit this busted to it.

This game's is just having a very quick to activate limit break and lots of curaga, the real struggle is caring to get far enough in the game to break it.

RE:coded = Triple Thundaga
This is a relatively quick to charge spell that can be obtained in mass early game by hoarding thunders and buying them in bulk, it hits stupidly hard, has good tracking and most bosses aren't made around fighting you at a distance so they end up getting fucked over.

DDD = Balloonraga
90% of the game is weak to light magic and on top of already being the strongest non 2 slot spell in the game damage wise is also light.
It's like a arena wide nuke spell, the only weakness is you have to grind to get it via the chain of memories X pokemon minigame outside of one given for free and maybe a dream eater gives one.

Playing KH2FM in 60fps breaks the game, bosses, and makes some abilities like Quick Run completely broken, in the bad way of being broken. Knockback is far less and leads to bullshit deaths, an actual 60fps release would fix these mechanics tied to framerate and make the game incredibly more playable.

GBA: there are a few all 0's technically due to the rules of the game is literally unbeatable.
All 9's is ok since it beats most enemies in the game.
One of the character cards that stops you getting card broke (Jafar I think) + Ars Arcanum is also a sick combo that busts most bosses + 2 zeros for protection and a mega elixir for card recover, call this deck Ars Arcanum turbo or something.

PS2/3, maybe 4 too:
All 0's still viable but due to the game giving bosses a lot more HP now it's a lot less effective and Ars Arcanum stops working by the final boss where his new first phase is high in the sky.
So go Ars Arcanum turbo for the majority of the game you can then around the final boss make a deck with 6 9's and 2 0's to deal with phase one then go all out with ars arcanum semi turbo for phase 2.

Play KH2FM on Critical.

You're right about reflect being really strong, but it takes some time and skill to use it correctly, it's not just an i win button and that's it.
There's many fights in the game where if you fuck up even once you're pratically done for (i'm assuming you're talking about critical).

Are you talking about dropping? It isn't really forcing you to do anything much faster than normal. At worst if you drop during a boss fight it'll start from the beginning once you come back. But that's easily avoided if you have items to replenish the meter.

I haven't touched the game in a few years, but I don't believe I had much of an issue with bouncing and jumping off of walls either.

I actually don't hate the idea of more things like A Fragmented Passage in the future so long as it's included with another game like they did here with 2.8 and not handled like Ground Zeroes.

Think about it; you get an extensive taste of a mechanically much greater game without paying the price for a full length one and they can test the waters with how it's received and maybe even tune some things up on top of what hasn't even been seen yet.

2.8 got patched

With some significant changes, especially to how your damage in Critical works.
The TL;DR version of it is that now the game is getting closer to how difficulty worked in KH2FM, as opposed to BBS (fuck BBS, by the way).
Wich is great, since KH2FM is the tightest and most well balanced game in the entire series especially on Critical.
This is important because it's going to carry over to KH3.
2.8 is currently Square "testing ground" to see what works and what doesn't, it's not just a demo, but a sort of experimental beta of KH3.
They're actually listening to player feedback on it (not OUR feedback, probably just the japs feedback, but the japs also love the shit out of KH2FM so the end result will be the same).

The biggest main gripe i have about 0.2 is that it requires a PS4 Pro to run at 60 FPS, and those FPS really make a huge difference, especially in movement, reaction time, dodging, and so on.
I understand that we played KH 1 and 2 at 30 fps for years, but once you see how a KH game actually performs at 60, and how well you can move around and react to shit coming at you in a 60 fps envroinment, it's hard to go back.

I'm sad that i'm going to have to spend most likely 200+ bucks after trading in my current ps4 to run this, and KH3 at 60, as i'm not even remotely rich.

If you own a PS4 and you get 1.5 + 2.5 you'll get all the best games, all at 60 fps (comes out in 2 months).
If you absolutely need to catch up to speed to where the plot currently is RIGHT NOW, you'll also need to get 2.8.
But 2.8, for what it offers, as many people here pointed out, is overpriced.
Additionally, to run the "demo" that runs with the KH3 engine at 60fps, you'll need a ps4 pro, else it'll run at 30fps.
So it's basically a shakedown.

On the other hand you may want to wait for the inevitable 1.5+2.5+2.8 bundle

Unnecessary Contextual Navigation
I fell off a cliff several times because it wanted me to watch a dumb little 'hop onto the curb' animation as I was approaching my intended jump point, causing the game to completely ignore multiple repeated "JUMP YOU CUNT" inputs. The "downhill navigation is always performed by sliding" has sent me careening into environmental damage triggers on multiple occasions.

At one point the game lagged so hard that it skipped a full 10 frames. Nothing came of it, but not by much; I was fighting the Demon Tower at the time and barely escaped one of its "cross the entire stage in .2 seconds" attacks.

Fucking dressup? You're hammering me to death with the "infinite void of perpetual alienation and soul-crushing loneliness" angle and turn right around to tell me to equip my cosplay cat ears? Way to kill the mood, even for a Kingdom Hearts game. Fuck off.

That being said, yes, demon tide is pretty shit, the entire community hates it, feedback to square about it has been almost 100% negative so hopefully they get the message.
All the other enemies aren't that difficult to deal with, you just need to git gud (you like BBS you you're probably really shit at KH games in general you worthless sack of human waste).
The main problem with Aqua in the demo is that by not having additional abilities, we can't extend her combo potential and gap closers, thus her overall fluidity and mobility moving from target to target.
This is obviously not something that will carry over to KH3, it's a limitation of the "demo" itself.
Imagine playing all of a KH game with vanilla english KH1 initial Sora moveset, these games change a lot depending on how many combo moves and mobility abilities you manage to link over time.
This makes her less fluid than KH2FM Sora, but not clunky to the point where you should have problems with -every- ancounter.

If you're having problems using her in anything that isn't Demon Tide, you're shit at this game.
Since you like BBS, obviously you're shit at this game.

BBS had its problems (don't get me started), but disabling your entire casting system because you wanted to heal is horseshit. I'll take the skill deck for a thousand games in a row over this. And yeah, the enemies are operating at post-endgame level while you're stuck with Intro Stage abilities. Demon Tide would keep up with and occasionally outpace Final Form Sora, and you don't get glide in this either.

Also the fact that you're playing a caster character whose ability list has been pared down to 3 AoE templates with mostly ignorable secondary effects, and a healing ability that disables all her other abilities. We started at level 50 and with the highest levels of the AoE templates. We couldn't get fucking Magnet? Mines? Anything interesting at all? Or god forbid, utilitarian?

Normal PS4, or PS4 pro?
This game, just like FFXV, is entirely designed to be played on PS4 pro, if you're on regular PS4 Square literally doesn't give a shit about your experience and won't cater to you.

Better start dealing with this right now because if not -every- developer, square absolutely IS going to start using this mindset when it comes to every single title they're gonna release in the future.

I suppose we can agree on the idea that in the demo, enemies are "finished", but Aqua isn't.
We might be looking at a Roxas situation here, where at the start of KH2 Roxas has a moveset, but it's really shitty and has bad properties on many moves compared to even early game Sora.
It's possible that they just didn't flesh out Aqua that much as she was only going to be an "one shot" character for this demo so they gave her a decent moveset but she's nowhere near as polished as Sora is going to be in the full game.

It's basically a hobo camp. People wind up there if their world's shit gets wrecked, and that wrecked shit is what theoretically makes up the town itself. In KHX you're apparently going into some book prophecy version of the worlds and so the heartless aren't the HUGE DAMN PROBLEM that the other games made them, and so traverse town doesn't have any wreckage to work with. Vague memories of the end of KHI say that everything got restored, so in theory the town unformed itself. Since the first game, we've only seen recreations of it, either from memory, data, or in dream form. Of course if it does come back in KHIII or beyond it'll look like it did in KHI because muh nostalgia but whatever.
