Their excuse is the live numbers change too often and it isn't worth the servers time. Safe to say if you run a few missions and are allied with the faction you will have a decent effect.

Once we get control, unless players actively undermine the system it's highly unlikely the system will ever swap on it's own. NPC actions don't count as much as players for influence gains and by the time we hit 60% and take over every faction should be 30% or lower making them effectively worthless as they can't declare war for a control attempt until hitting 60% influence in the system.

Basically unless someone fucks with it, it's cruise control by virtue of people just turning in bounties to the system or selling anything for a profit etc.

Atm Fdev refuse to let cmdrs tie ourselfs to minor factions ingame so no it won't list who did what exactly.
Probably cause they think it isn't worth having the server list and record every single cmdr and every single mission they ran rather just save the increase in influence the action generated.
One day Fdev should get their head out of their ass on player groups and let us mark ourselves with them akin to how you join powerplay atm.
Another way to look at it is we're part of the independent pilots federation which could be a reason to not tie ourselves down to a particular faction as we are "free spirits" and our actions are anonymous outside the faction. But then how about that powerplay.

This "game" literally teaches you space warfare. It's basically a custom physics engine with gameplay built on top of it. Check the wordpress link, then give it a try yourself - latest wersion weights 131MB and is torrentable. Shit is fucking real, N-body gravitation simulation is a thing and engine actually can into simulating things like a piece of osmium put in front of a small nuke becomes a plasma cloud and can do second pic to ships whose CIWS will not let said nuke close enough for it's EM spectrum and neutron radiation to do anything immediately incapacitating. Literally, it simulates directionally expanding plasma cloud. And that's not some kind of a scripted calculation - it simulates plasma/gas/liquid/solid physics for each calculative quantum of space with sufficiently nonzero density. Gameplay depend on it so much, most intresting solutions have been found by community and not the developer - such as said plasma cloud penetrator. He never thought that this manner of simulation means you can make a "radiation shield" module(basically, a monolithic cylinder of any of avaliable matherials) which, after being vaporised by nuke of specific power from specific distance, would become a narrow(single-digit degrees) plasma beam, much like HEAT shells create plastic deformation metal jets. Campain is redpilled lulz made from such perspective that most radical SJW's would approve while moderate will start to question themselves.

TBH mining's the only thing I really enjoy in ED anymore and there's too much shit in the game that keeps me away like the fact that you have to take a bazillion jumps to get anywhere instead of one long jump, the magic NPCs, the absurd lack of good PvP (a grindwall in front of PvP is terrible, ED PvP was best early on when the best ship in the game was a cannon viper and you didn't have to grind engineer mats or rebuy), the lack of player guilds, etc.

ED feels like a really impressive and comfy tech demo, with abysmal game design on top, and this weird mindset of tedium being a good thing.

If they split the bounties like wings, no one will use it. It's not useful in PvP either because unless they do some significant, very significant, performance boosts, having a wing of 4 will be better than a crew of 4. The only thing that would make it worthwhile, is if they didn't split the bounty when you're in a crew. Then you just hop in whoever's ship is the best for RES farming.

It seriously sounds like waste of dev time to me, I wonder how FD gets their priority. Oh well, I have a lifetime pass so if the game eventually gets out of the boring snorefest zone I'll play it more seriously.

Powerplay was dead the moment they scrapped the idea that you could only help/hurt a power in open. Nothing like watching your work go down the drain thanks to people in a game mode you can't interact with.

The plan is to ideally have it so a 4 people inside of a ship will be enough to deal with a wing of 4 ships. So expect overtuned crazy shit. If the idea of grabbing people and tossing them into your ship for adventure isn't the coolest shit ever to you I must question your concept of entertainment.

You don't just have to take into account the difference in firepower and health, but the ability to use it in multiple places at once. Even if a crewed ships firepower and health matched the combined health and firepower of a wing, the wing would still have the advantage, as they can maneuver.
If it comes with draw backs like having to split a bounty and the inability to form a wing of 4 then yeah, it sounds terrible.

It still have a decent population doing it until Engineers, at least in Hudson and ALD.

Fdev have stated that the multicrew will be completely focused on combat and co-op missions are not being considered for this update at all.
For the love of god I hope at the very least a co-pilot can jump into an srv or take out a fighter otherwise it will only be an update for those in pvp.

The issue with cyberpunk is that it all looks the same. Sure, there are some cool elements to it, but in the end it all just comes down to ugly-looking high-tech shantytowns and a few high-end areas in a futuristic but unorganized, single color theme (read: unappealing to look at) area. Meanwhile, compare to the typical "fantasy world" which has a lot more potential because it's not locked into "high tech guns, spaceships, big complex urban areas"…and nothing else. In fact you can replace all of that with a fantasy version that isn't as high-tech but makes up for that by being magical, mysterious, interesting, and perhaps allowing the universe to have items that are even more capable. tl;dr Typical fantasy-style worlds are objectively far better places to live in/explore than cyberpunk-style worlds.

We already know how they plan to fuck it up: no AI bridge crewmates, multiplayer only.

I'm glad that Fdev is not wasting time or spending time to get the new feature working in both solo as well as multiplayer. Hopefully this means it'll actually get the time necessary. If Fdev were to drop either solo or multiplayer entirely from the game they wouldn't have to waste so much time making new features both single and multiplayer compatible.
Although as it stands a lot of the games main gameplay modes actually dis-encourage winging up for them.

Also the Distant Stars expedition ended in explosions and death.
The star cluster they went too was a one way neutron star jump so the cmdrs all had to suicide to get back to the bubble.

You can use a Neutron star to jump farther than you normally can. They jumped to a star that didn't have any stars within normal jump range.

If you fly through the jet of a neutron star your fsd gets a 300% jump boost, this combined with a engineered ship jump range of roughly 50ly and then further boosted by 100% by the crafting system's fsd injector recipe you can jump 400lys. The cluster of stars which the expedition tool place in was roughly this distance away so it only became accessible with the boost the neutron star provides. However there is no neutron star in the cluster so it is a one way trip and you have to die in order to respawn back in the bubble

Neutron stars increase maximum jump distance. They went farther out than anyone has before, but because of the way they had to jump, they had no way to reach the required jump distance to leave, meaning that they either had to kill themselves and respawn or be trapped forever at the edge of the galaxy.

I jumped into a stream instance on the ruins this morning and the instance had ~20 cmdrs in it, a lot less when some gankers showed up and killed half of them.
Didn't even lag at all either despite me connecting from Australia and most of the other cmdrs probably running out of the UK and US.
I drew one of them away and drove into the ground like a dumbass before my fsd crapped out just before I could high wake. Note to self never fly low in a combat scenario on a planet, fly up so you can high wake when you need to instantly and also harder to hit the ground.
Also usually the game would refuse to instance me with over seas players while randomly in open but it seems after winging up I got pulled into the same instance even after I left the wing.

the faction that issued the bounty is what gets the influence, when you go to cash in it'll state who you're giving them too, pretty certain it's the controlling faction for now.
When our faction hits 60% influence and the controlling faction and ours arn't in a state it will trigger a war or election (probably a war) between our factions, the winner takes control.

He's SDC. Nice people. A lot of them ex pirates who got tired of frontiers bullshit. They pretty much are the top of the foodchain for pvp groups. They are the reason people shouldn't go with d rated thrusters and the smallest size shields on trade ships.
