So apparently I have PCSX2 set up incorrectly. I followed the picture in the OP, but there are these extremely noticeable black vertical lines on the screen when I played AC4.

Google recommended changing the internal resolution to certain values (which I tried and did nothing) and recommended messing with the skipdraw hack (I tried a few values and none seemed to work).

Honestly, I'm starting to think he might not be Pixy. At the end of Zero, Pixy was a mercenary on the ground rather than the air, making me think he retired from flying after his final sortie. I was playing Ace Combat 4, and realized something. The air base next to Stonehenge has the exact same layout as this pic from Ace Combat 7. Also, all shots from the trailer are facing toward the desert and not the side of stonehenge. I think both bases in 4 and 7 are the exact same, so maybe we will get to take off and land at Stonehenge.

I really do wonder who will be in control of Stonehenge and Lighthouse at the beginning of 7. Surely Erusea wouldn't be allowed to retain control of their asteroid-destroying superweapon.

The Earth's axial tilt changes, if that's what you mean. The pole is just a spot on the globe. Debris from a destroyed space elevator would fall in a line on the equator because of the Earth's rotation; the axial tilt is much less prominent, so it wouldn't have enough time to affect things.

Since seeing the first teaser, I've been thinking that Osea might be the aggressors or attackers when it comes to the conflict, since it seemed like it was the Osean plane was attacking the Erusean plane and drone carrier, rather than the other way around. And from what I recall, the big drone carriers are used to protect key structures, which the Lighthouse would certainly fall under. Putting two and two together made me think the Osean plane was outright attacking the Lighthouse in the teaser. If the player character is the one that gets to deliver some catastrophe for one reason or another in an Ace Combat game, that'd be rad as fuck.

If you're talking about Ace Style, it affects the cutscenes and in game dialogue of other pilots. It also changes the enemy Aces you fight against where Mercenary gives the hardest bosses.

Starting with Ace Combat 4, you weren't kidding Holla Forums. this game is amazing.

Killing yellow targets = moves meter down towards mercenary.

You also get credits for killing yellow targets so it's easier to buy planes. Plus you unlock planes and their skins by having different ace styles.

Depends on whether or not the PC release includes the actual files for the PSVR missions.

According to the wiki, Soldier unlocks some of the best planes in the game. Not entirely sure if that is accurate though. I did a Soldier run recently and it was pretty easy, they make it sound hard.

That's true for the "designed for VR" special missions, but I'm sure within a day someone could hack VR for all of the normal missions without issue. If you can do it in fucking Dark Souls, you can do it in an Unreal 4 game.

Day 1 considering VR is just freelook controlled via headset. All you'd have to do is map what would be the right analog stick to the head movement of your headset and project the game onto the screen.

If you have a good PC or a PS2 then I'd recommend emulating/playing the PS2 Ace Combats first, they're the definitive games in the series. If you have an Xbox 360 then get Ace Combat 6, it's not as good as the PS2 trilogy but it's still really good. If you only have a 3DS then sure, AHL is a good place to start. It's a (vastly superior) remake of Ace Combat 2.

Having only played Ace Combat 4 and gotten to stonehenge I thought the game was fun as fuck but because it wasn't mine I couldnt keep playing it.

Is there some specific game i should start on if i want to get back into this series? I have access to a ps2 and 3 atm if that helps.

Ace Combat 4 is always my recommended starting point, so I would say finish it and then play 5 and Zero. If you don't want to replay 4 at all then just start playing 5.

AC4 is where you should start, then play 5, 0, and 6 (if you have an Xbox 360).

Also play Assault Horizon Legacy Plus if you have a 3DS, from freeShop of course, don't give Bamco a cent unless they change, hell you should even be careful about buying AC7 if they don't shape up, the two PSP games, haven't actually played them yet to be honest, and I remember one of them apparently sucks so be wary, and if you can resist paying, give Ace Combat Infinity a try. It's free, after all. Also grab a Wii and Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces.

Just played Zero and 4 for the first time. I had always assumed Ace Combat just wasn't for me. I had only played 3 and the Sky Crawlers game and neither of them were very fun. Zero was really fun but 4 seemed like a few steps down. How is 5 compared to 4? If it's not on par with Zero I should probably wait a while so I'm not burnt out of Ace Combat games.

5 Has a cheesy story, brain dead AI, and is less replayable then 0. But most people still love it.

AC5 plenty of people's favourite. The first time you play it, you will jizz through your roof. The next couple of times not so much

I'm starting to think you're retarded. Where's the proof on the last one? Haven't had any screen tearing in any game that I've played on the PS4, and certainly none in VR.

5 is closer to 0, both in engine and story. I'm surprised you feel 4 is a few steps down. My biggest complaint was the missions where you have to reach a certain score threshold, but that's it.

The score threshold thing made it feel very repetitive, like every mission had the same goal even if had you shooting at different things. But my biggest complaint is that the ranges were shorter. Targets only show up when you're really close, missile range is even shorter than in Zero, and gun range is so short I rarely ever got to kill anything with it.

I really don't get the love for this plane. Sure, it has a big gun, so what? This isn't /k/. This damn plane is like the CoD of aircraft and, as an engineer myself, I'm kinda sick of hearing about it.

I always hear the same shit from people. "It's got a big gun" or "it's armored". But its gun isn't particularly accurate nor especially effective against armored targets even compared to a M61 Vulcan (a Vulcan with explosive rounds can do exactly the same if not greater damage). It's armor isn't at all impressive either. Sure, it's effective against machine gun fire, but it's worthless against SAMs and just protects the pilot. While the unarmored wings do have redundant hydraulic control systems, they could have just used a redundant fly-by-wire system and easily cut down on complexity and weight while making it far more resilient to AA guns. The A-10 is pathetically vulnerable to pretty much any anti-air system, and unlike the F-15, F-16, or F-35, it can't survive getting a wing shot off.

Overall it's alright at CAS in undisputed airspace, but the second it encounters resistance it falls apart. Hopefully the winner of the T-X program can offer a replacement that isn't ugly as sin.

While i love the A-10C, i agree with this. It's only good against areas with no SAMs. At least in DCS

AC2, X, Xi, AH Legacy, Joint Assault, Advance, Northern Wings, and AH Trigger Finger. Maybe Air Combat 22 and Sky Crawlers for good measure.

I feel like AC1, 2, and 22 can be lumped into the first one.

2 actually had a bit more of a story going on, and three different endings.

I haven't played Legacy but yeah I think X is better than 2 due to just overall being more refined.

According to a friend that actually spent time in the sandbox, one of the greatest advantages of the A-10 wasn't the GAU-8's damage potential, but the sound it makes. If you ever doubted the effect of demoralization mechanics in games, all you'd ever need to see is an entire swarm of sandkips suddenly remember they left the coffee pot on and have to go home right away.
