Family and vidya

You ever let your parents or sister play a game, and they can't make sense of what's on the screen? Like they can't tell who they're controlling, or like they can't walk and aim at the same time, know what I mean?

You can't post here if you're under 18.

My sister would try to play 2D Mario but has zero notion of momentum. Instead of getting a running start to jump a chasm she would move mario right to the edge of it and press jump and right at the same time and either fall by not pressing jump in time or simply not clear the chasm by lacking momentum.

I gave her my old 3DS with CFW to play Animal Crossing when I got a new 3DS.

I know you are baiting but a surprising number of us still live without parents despite being adults.

With Parents.

Keeping the typo though.

You jest, but this shit is awful.

Get out normalfag.

My wife plays Mario Bros without using the run button at all. She plays Super Mario World using only the spin jump, only using the regular jump while on Yoshi.

My dad played some Lego games and MGS 1 with me, now he just plays Candy Crush and Angry Birds. He's also a massive pussy who wears sandals, shorts, graphic tees, talks to me like a women, is anti-Trump, and is afraid of guns. I have no right to complain because while he was a non-father but I'm grateful for having a father because my development would be worse without one, my mom is yacking soccermom liberal so who knows where I'd be in that timeline, if I'm smart enough t see that than nothing is their fault but they're mediocre babyboomers who will retire and rely on me to help them in this fucking economy.

Man, how long has it been since that picture was made? I wonder if porn of C1 is still saved somewhere.

:^) Aunts and uncles count user

What magical fairy tale economy do you live in?

It's baitOr underage faggot calling other people underage faggotsOr richfag

My little sister used to play vidya occasionally, but since she got a tablet she now plays on that. She doesn't have enough time to play anything I buy her, but every time I see her she's playing Candy Crush until she runs out of lives, then she switches to another Candy Crush.
I can still get her to play Mario Kart, but anything involving single player gets pushed aside for Candy Crush.

Fifteen years ago my barely-even-played-Tetris sister tried out the first Kingdom Hearts and had trouble hitting enemies with the keysword. She'd run straight towards an enemy and hit the attack button, but by that time the enemy had moved. That's what made me realize how completely alien even the fifteen-year-old PS2 controller is to non-gamers, and that's why touchscreen games will appeal to that market forever.

Did you teach her the lock-on button?

I once played Jedi Power Battles with my dad. When he lost all of his lives, the rage that fueled me carried me the furthest I've ever been in that game. I think the only other game he's played is Guitar Hero.

i remember my mom got mad at me for playing sonic heroes as a teen because the loops gave her headaches
my dad always tried to enjoy them with me because i had no friends but he really didnt know what he was doing and only wanted to play shooters because he likes guns so much

I never got into Kingdom Hearts and probably forgot the lock-on even existed Maybe it's all my fault she never got into gaming.

>Dad: OH GOD THESE GRAPHICS ARE HORRIBLE, AND YOU'RE JUST WALKING AROUND DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER! he's referring to the backtracking

I wouldn't worry about it.

shit, this always gets me. 2D games are always called "ugly" by my little brother.

stop grooming your little sister you fucking freak

I dont give a shit about playing vidya with my family, i just want to get the fuck away from here but getting a job is borderline impossible and my mother wont stop annoying me as if i could just go to the store and buy a job.

Get out normalfag

I used to play games with my dad, we would only play racing games because he couldn't figure out how to use the joysticks on any other games
I tried to play Portal's 2 coop with him, we didn't even pass the first level even if he's an intelligent guy. I guess that after 40 you can't learn shit anymore

My mom on the other hand is a dumb bitch and couldn't understand why you see the back of the car in a racing game

My little sister only plays Minecraft and Trumpy Wall. She usually puts down singleplayer games after about 20 minutes.

My dad plays vidya a lot, but he's one of those types that likes big, sprawling games with a bunch of nooks and crannies to explore and find shit. I guess it must be why he's been playing Dying Light so much recently. Hell, he even said that the night sections of the game nearly scared the piss out of him and that never happened to any of the good horror games he's played.

and youngfag detected.

You're going to be living with your parents too, buddy.

My family was diverse with games. I played a bit of everything while my siblings played games like Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, and so on. My mom only ever played Ms. Pacman and my step dad played nothing but Age of Empires 2, Age of Mythology, and Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds. There were some special cases though
>Bro would throw fits, cry, and hit himself because I kept attacking while his character was on the ground
Fucking grow up already. That was 12 years ago and he still won't play a single damn game with me during family get-togethers.

Where's the porn of C1 mom.

You know there is.

My dad's never been really interested in playing vidya beyond the Atari. His interest in it as a whole since then has been in praising Apple for overtaking a huge chunk of the market (he smugly swears that soon every game company worth their salt will be developing for iphones to some degree) and how much money he can make being a reselling scalper. He's even commented before as to how much money could be made if I hocked my own games I've bought (not something I have interest in doing). Mom has no real interest in video games, but occasionally has commented that the music in whatever I'd be playing is nice. Don't know of any other family members into vidya.

Mom really, REALLY didn't like me playing through various Legend of Zelda games that a friend had loaned me back when I was in junior high though.

What year is it?

Well where is it?

My mother was never really into vidya but she saved up as best she could to get me second hand stuff. She got a second hand GBC and a stack of decent games for my 7th birthday, that was the fuckin best. she'll still watch me play stuff when she comes over to visit.

My siblings/cousins only play on tablets or phones, and it's either minecraft or candy crush.

I never knew my dad, he ditched when I was born and has avoided attempts to regain contact, has a new family now

My uncle is a fairly cool guy who has always been and will always be an xbro

Other than my uncle nobody but me in the family knows how to work a mouse and keyboard or a controller properly.

when do you fug the mom?

...

I have molded my sisters from FUCKING CASUALS to actually pretty decent at vidya, I am proud of them.

What a waste.

My father and I made a Soccer World Cup tournament where we'd switch sides to try and play the whole thing with a different team each time. We never completed it, IIRC we stopped at the quarter finals because his work was cutting short hours off of his leisure time, but it was really great.

Nowadays he just plays the i-gizmo waiting games like all old people though.

Dad liked to play Total Annihilation once upon a time, only singleplayer and mainly by setting up a line of guardians and stuff to crush any AI coming his way, and smashing them with Hawk swarms.

Mum is just strange. Expressing interest in Ass Creed 2 for pretty scenery although she doesn't like violent games. She enjoyed Her (meh) Story. She's bad at Rhythm Heaven Megamix (I was arguing it was an easy game a minute ago, ironic). All that said 99% of the time she's distracted by mobile shit.

As an adult I actually didn't notice you could run in Donkey Kong Country and got as far as the stop-go level before figuring out you could. Disgusting right?

Last time I tried showing vidya to my father he slapped me then took muh 486 to the shop for "repairs" and said the techs at the shop broke it and wouldnt give it back.

It was duke3d the scene where he takes a shit in the final boss' head that made him flip out

Videogames have always been taboo for him regardless

My mother is in the 1A category, to the point where I can't have a decent conversation with her anymore because of it.

I think my mum might play more videogames than I do.

surprisingly enough my grandmother was the only vidya gamer in the family besides myself.
she was really good at sm64 and hid conker's bad fur day from me.

Yet all these people fell for it.
SHIGGY

is Holla Forums's version of reddit's

Conceal it, no one wants to hear about your cringey life. Just play videogames and talk about them, I don't care if your mom said this or that about any game

I find it sad that only the top right 3 panels in that image portray something that seems like functioning happy family bonding.
My parents joined in playing the Wii sports games back when the Wii was the current gen console. It was annoying how much they wanted to play bowling.
My dad liked racing games and would play mariokart with my two other brothers and I. We had good times. He's also a big fan of Game of Thrones since he read the books and played the card game- so naturally he'd get the game on the Ps3.
Other than that, it's only typical stuff like mum playing those mobile games and shit.

(checked)
What are you, a nig?

My mom had average to good taste in vidya games, but mostly played survival horror shit and RPGs and was pretty good at them, although her favorite game was probably Mafia for whatever reason. She beat Diablo 2 a shitton of times too.
My dad didn't like video games all that much, but he did enjoy playing the old cawadoodys and medalofhonors and sometimes played multiplayer games with me on the PS1, though he was pretty shit at vidya in general. He generally could make sense of what's going on in the game and play it properly, though.

...

...

My dad used to be pretty hardcore in stuff like Bagman. He's still pretty good at retro games but he always gets lost and has trouble playing modern games.

Kind of funny how much modern games hand hold and yet he still gets lost in them pretty often, I guess retro arcade games and the like are just hardwired into him.

My dad used to play Command and Conquer 2

Not anymore, but I'm thinking about giving him a copy for the pc

The Wii my dad got for a birthday was the only time i've seen my parents take interest in vidya.
Dad naturally lost interest after the 'oh man, it moves when I move!' charm wore off, and he only played wii sports.
Mom on the other hand got gold on all the cups and all the speeds in mario kart, and as soon as she was done she dropped it entirely.
I tried to get her into MK8, but she lost interest because she couldn't avoid using the drifts on that one.

S-should I put him out of his misery?

Dad's a solid B1 and a DC fan, he never cared much about what I was playing but he watches my brother religiously when he's playing Bam Hams

Not bad, but I feel like I've missed out on local multiplayer because they're still shit at video games and I never had many friends growing up.

How old is your dad? I'm legitimately curious.

good thing i have a well paying job, now i can catch up on the stuff i missed out on

Mom and stepdad were the ones who'd tell me "user you'll rot your brain playing all those games!" then spend hours watching TV. My biological dad would be considered B1, but liked to watch what I was playing and would chip in for games I wanted to buy.

My father is B1, except even below that (B0?) because he just doesn't "understand" games. He occasionally plays shitty mobile games (did Angry Birds for a while) on his tablet, but that's it. He's old enough that video games didn't even really exist when he came to America, so they were never part of his life.

My mother is a solid C2. Back in the day she was good with arcade games, and can still probably do well at Space Invaders. But her development stopped at Super Mario Bros., and even just the addition of the mechanics from Super Mario World (like flying with the cape) is too much for her. This is likely because she stopped playing games to raise me. Nowadays she mainlines matching games and variations thereof, and sometimes watches me play things.

My cousins sometimes play games, but they're normalfags. They buy consoles and popular games, seemingly just to line their shelves and to have them, and don't play much because they spend most of their time watching movie/sports, hanging out with friends, and drinking beer and smoking weed.

The only person I've ever known who would qualify for C3 status was my uncle. He was a computer geek back in the 50's and 60's, and last I checked still kept up with it. Back in the middle 90's he taught me how to play a very old version of Microsoft Flight Simulator (with a real joystick) and what I think was Wolfenstein 3D. Unfortunately, he lives across the world and more recently had a falling out with all his brothers over their mother's inheritance. I haven't seen him in a decade or more, and probably will not get the chance to before he dies. I bet he plays Dwarf Fortress.

My dad plays flight simulators sometimes. He's mostly stopped ever since he got his pilot's license. Apart from that, I have a pretty weeby cousin that usually plays Tales games with her boyfriend.

Haha.

Thanks to fox news my parents where 1A. I didn't get to play games until I got a laptop I installed some shitty f2p games on.

it's kind of interesting to see someone try to play a 3d video game if they're an adult and have never tried before. It's especially pronounced in women due to how their brains process data about three dimensional spaces differently than men.
had one ex who played Ocarina of Time from when she was a little kid, was much better than me at 3d platforming. Had another who never touched video games until the PS3 era, watching her navigate through a doorway in a game was like that video where the Kotaku journalist tries to play Doom4.

My pop used to play Ultima Online, Mech warrior ,and The Sims. Later on I remember him playing a lot of Destroy all humans, that one godzilla fighting game, and the warriors game.
When I was growing up he always used to chill in the background browsing the internet and would pipe up every once in a while to comment on how my game was going. Once said that he was proud that I took the good ending/path in Bioshock.

My older brother was a sega kid and I remember setting up forts and playing altered beast and SANIC, it was pretty fun. He also liked playing GTA with his friends. He absolutely cannot wrap his head around fps though. Sorta wonder if I should pick up sonic mania and play it with him.

I just realized need more varied comfy pepes

My mom used to play Megaman Legends with me when I was a kid, but she stopped pretty quick and the only thing she touches anymore are shovelware microtransaction Farmville shits.

My brother's a massive fucking casual who only plays CoD and Halo's SWAT mode. My dad used to play quite a few military games, loved shit like SOCOM and Splinter Cell, but he's so crippled up nowadays due to his numerous health problems that he can't really work up the motivation to do much of anything aside from sit in front of the TV and chill out for the remainder of his short life.

None of them ever really had any massive issues when playing them though. Never had any problems figuring out who they were controlling, or getting to grips with the most basic controls.

are you even ray-ciss?

Oh, I almost forgot to mention, my Grandpa Skip actually plays videogames fairly frequently. He seems to have issues with a lot of fast paced stuff, so he trends towards slower things like RPGs and more casual stuff that's easy to play. He's been steadily working his way through Final Fantasy 13-2 and Skyrim for like the past year and a half. Not only does he proceed through games at a glacial pace, he buys guidebooks and 100%'s them each time. He's pretty casual too, but I think it's excusable in his case, being sixty something and only having an hour or two a day to play.

now stop right there vidya is not about what mothers want vidya is about what their sons want
12 seconds later…
I'VE CLOCKED THOUSANDS OF HOURS IN CLASSIC DOTA AND CS, LEVELED UP 3 CHARS IN DkS1, AND PLAYED THROUGH 3 ENTIRE GENERATIONS OF VIDEOGAMES, DON'T TRY TO TELL ME WHAT'S COOL AND WHAT'S NOT

Why are you telling lies user?

What the fuck even is this?

give me the ARA

femdom only, no fox, final destination

Your mum is a casual.

...

Here's your 5th repley.
Now get to it faggot.

I once was S- in Splatoon, then I allowed my sister to play on my WiiU when she started showing interest in vidya
I am stuck between C- and B for eternity now

god damn, it's my first time and i'm too much of a normalfag for this…
okay here we go

THE END

I don't think a mature virgin woman would be very beautiful. Women lose their beauty easily, specially if they are rabid feminist or not rich enough to cover it up with surgery, foreskin lotion and make up.

...

Almost 50

My mom plays PC98 games with me.

>>>/leftyweebpol/

I feel you, user. I used to play MSDOS and PS2 games with him but now he just plays match-3 and puzzle games on his phone.

Do you play lewd games?

Huh. I figured he'd be close to my age. Not that I'm old enough to have kids who post on Mongolian manhwa boards or anything.

Mom was full on A-1, complete with, "Your video games are slowing down the computer and giving it viruses," while she constantly visited sketchy recipe sites and opened spam on her Yahoo!.

Dad was C-1, mostly because he never got to see us, since my mom would threaten to accuse him of rape, if he tried.

There was something on her yahoo, alright.

My dad used to play the everloving FUCK out of Mortal Kombat 2 & Mortal Kombat 3 in arcades, and bought the SNES versions. Then he would beat the everloving FUCK out of my brother and I when we were children. It felt good to git gud at video games and wipe the floor with him when I got a little older

oh and now he's almost 50 and just plays CS:GO against bots? he's a weird dude

Sometimes I forget that there are people older than 30 here. There are people in there 60's that post here.
How does it feel to be 50?

Asking them that is only going to get you denial and self-delusion, user. They're just going to rationalize why it's okay being a shitty old man.

Not as good as it felt to have the weight of mortality sliding off of my shoulders, along with the accursed flesh that bound my festering soul. I have embraced the darkness, and now I am eternal. I am ineffable. I am Captain Planet.

a lot like being 49

You're cool, elder user. I want to be a healthy old man one day. My dream is to live to be a hundred year old virgin.

My wife can't into using the right stick and is also as bad at navigating in games as she iss in real life. she either backseat plays, gets me to do hard parts, or plays coop. if we play coop though, she'll demand i get good if i lose, even if I am 10 times better than her.

the only games she's ever beaten are 3d Marios, God of War, or Sonic (which she is somehow good at). She can somehow hold her own in Splatoon thanks to gyro controls and is suprisingly great at it. She can button mash in fighting games with more luck than most as well.

I only know one woman who is able to really play games as a not LELGAMURGRILL, she doesn't play them much anymore though.

Yeah

Holy kek

I'm 32 what's so special about it, other than not liking memes and other stupid shit i guess there is nothing different from when i was 20

Which ones, and what do her fetishes seem to be?

where's the ara, faggot?

user's kind of a shitter

I'm hanging onto the hope that they're different IP's.

I sincerely don't know how did the IP change

again? who's giving me these internet powers?

My dad is a 2C, we played Lego star wars 1 & 2 and Battlefront 1 and 2 together. He preferred the 1st iteration of both. I got the demo for NuBattlefront and showed him some, but we agree it's shit

My mom is a 2B, when my little cousins come over we play NSMB on my wii and she has a decent grasp of the controls.

...

He just got burned out on video games
Like the rest of us

he just watches tv and smokes weed for his "back problems"

my cousin is pretty into vidya we talk on discord sometimes

my younger cousin still plays console but hes still kinda young softmore in hs so hopefully hell realise once he starts getting a part time and spends that money on a pc hopefully.

most of my other cousins play just once every blue moon

I do have other hobbies than vidya but I spend most of my free time playing video games than i do with the others

He's gotten better than me by now. I love my dad.
