That's because some groups just steal subs from crunchyroll, which simulcasts the anime. Most groups that do their own fansubs wait for BDs or their translations come out days after it shows.

There are these things called subtitle files. They store the text and the timestamps at which it must appear on a video separately from the video file itself. If a better source is found, is just an issue of applying the existing subtitle file to the new video.
It's the most pathetic excuse considering it comes from a subtitler group, you know the people that most closely works with these kinds of things. Nobody is going to bat an eye if you say something like "Real life stuff held me up" (code for "I'm a lazy fuck").

I like the show, but it's the type of thing where if the game isn't interesting, the episode as a whole isn't interesting. I like Arino and the rest of the "characters", but they just can't save a boring game. I wish they would play less 80's sidescrollers with a handful of stages, and more exploration-heavy games. Games where there's a lot of stuff to discover, instead of replaying the same difficult, linear segments over and over again.

I enjoy watching Arino play obscure, old ching chong games that reach back to the 80's, and very do so love the scenes when he goes to local game centers/snack shops, and poking fun at kids. I recall Prince of Persia, Adventure Island, any Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Punch Out, Battletoads and Actraiser being good. Or watch Tokimeki Memorial if you want to see a middle aged man play a dating sim.

There are so many you can't really go wrong, but the very first ones tend to be still kinda looking for their style and humor. My advice would be : watch oneparters, then once you've gotten acquainted well enough with the show and the team, watch a two parter. SMB3 is frankly one of the most intense and powerful experiences I've had with the show, legitimately cried and shit at the end, no joke. To be fair, the mario series is a bit of a running gag with arino.

Most of GCCX's appeal for me is both that Arino is a total autist and that he's generally genuinely having fun with the vibeo gaens he's playing. Guy loves his job and loves the craft despite being horrible at it, and he's willing to try and play through to completion any new thing tossed his way. I remember he loves RPGs in general.

Of course he loves his job, the guy is getting paid big bucks for doing literally nothing other than goofing around while playing videogames.

You don't have to be an expert in TV production to see GGCX is produced on the cheap. While I'm sure Arino enjoys what he's doing, considering he's been at it for over a decade, I guarantee he isn't rich. He probably has an upper middle-class living when combined with his other gigs.

Take it from someone who has been on a set: he's not really up for 24 hours at a time. A shoot can last from 10 to 18 hours, depending on the budget and crew, and most of that is spent setting up equipment and camera readjustment, at which point Arino has to stop playing games. And seeing as how Arinos the main talent, being up for over a day will wear you out, vidya or not. He has to look marginally presentable and that requires even a little sleep.

Yeah, i bet he doesn't get any money at all from all those Nintendo endorsements, licensed videogames and such, none at all. Arino is but a poor humble working guy.

GCCX is at most 2 cameras and a light. Pointed at a dude sat behind a desk. I think it's just one camera actually. The lighting is shit, which is why he's getting glare in his eyes all the time.

It takes about 10 minutes to set up a camera on a tripod and white balance that shit.
