No, it's not. MOBA's are categorized by specific qualities the game does not feature, namely.
Different phases of combat where the first one is spent powering up your character by farming currency and XP and mostly decides the outcome of the second phase, where teamfights and objectives further reinforce your character's strengths and thus lead to a final snowballing effect that wins you the game.

While the game features it's own currency and items you can buy with, their relevance to the game is fairly minimal compared to your personal skill, not to mention you don't have levels nor do you unlock skills and the grind does not come from farming minions.

The game also doesn't feature minions running through lanes specifically for you to farm or help you push defensible structures that defend your base in the first phase of combat, nor do you have a base you have to defend from your oponent.

By your definition of MOBA, Battle for Middle Eart and Guild Wars would be MOBA's as well.

What the game does, much like Overwatch, is keep watch over it's own memory to make sure it's not tampered with. If it is, you're flagged as a possible cheater using an aimbot or something similar.
This is alluded in the TOS and is the same thing Overwatch and quite possibly a lot of other games uses to help deter cheating.

Patch OB40 is live, huge changes to the game. You start with 1000 credits instead of 400, Androxus' Ult has falloff damage, and new stage Stone Keep is hecka fun bro.

Ruckus isn't too much of a problem if you catch him from behind. He is a little hard to beat one on one, but with Wrecker and a coordinated effort he goes down easy like a smooth stout.

Also you can do the Shell Spin with Makoa and still move with your shield up. You can damage, heal, and escape at the same time. I am not sure what you mean by "can't do anything." Quite the opposite, you can do literally everything.

Buck was never OP, and certainly not compared to the other flanks. If you are a steady hand his ult is one of the best, and he is the only character other than Grover that can heal himself so fast in such little time. Buck players are usually great players period because he rewards perfect play, perfectly. This is why in the comp scene he might seem OP.

I mean that he can't fire and do serious damage or provide better utility while using his shield. The Shell Spin seems nice but it leaves your teammates unprotected and defeats the purpose of holding the point.

Meanwhile, Fernando can stand on the point, provide better, longer lasting cover, still fire and also has his own escape mechanism.
Ruckus can just sit his ass on the point, shield himself, shield everyone else and do a fuckload of damage that actually gets people away from him instest of going closer to him like Makoa does.
I mean, he's still a great character on his own but for the purpose of holding a point and getting the enemy team to fuck off, he's the worst at that.

Yeah, that's what I felt. His Leap is not that easy to aim and use and I feel that he can be killed easily if you don't mind your positioning, but otherwise he can be a great character. I especially like that card that heals you for damaging heroes you slowed with your net, it's the perfect combo to go after high damage targets like Cassie, Viktor or Skyie that usually shit on your mouth but with that net, they can't escape nor kill you.

It's a bit funny that a lot of people talk shit about AAA and how having a large playerbase just means more cancer and devs jewing out, but the moment it's to bash a game they don't like, a lower playerbase is suddendly something bad.
By that kind of mark, there are several good games that should be considered terrible because they are old classics not many people play anymore.

Makoa works when you have a good team behind you (literally). They have to be able to keep the enemy at length while you defend them and allow them to do so. Its a symbiotic relationship. If your team lets anyone inside the shield they fucked up bad. I suggest you try partying up with people and you'll see a marked difference in your Makoa mileage.

A playerbase should never dictate if a game is "good" or "bad." All of my games on Paladin have been quick to connect and packed with people who have bothing but skill. I can understand how normalfags dropped it because it is hard, but that should only make Holla Forums like it more. Of course instead they would rather shill their Activision game with dykes and niggers and healthpacks and other casual horseshit because "muh porn!!!" not like we dont have our own.

Buck is literally about about jumping next to the enemy, and keeping m1 down to win. The health pool and regeneration makes sure that he either beats every single fucking hero in 1vs1 or just jumps away if the situation turns on him.

I'd rather a small neat community over the big ones personally, it ends up being more laid back even with the wanna be pros. Long as you're finding games when you want em the population is fine. Although realistically once the game becomes "released" and the consoles are up and running it'll be a fairly popular game. The weird thing about modern consoles having so few things to play the f2p games like Smite are some of the most played MP games on the platform.

Also Makoa is easily the best tank in the game right now just for the hooking, you can delete everything not a tank yourself. Most of the time you're shielding you're just waiting for hook to get off cooldown before the rape train begins again. He is the one frontline I know I can carry a bad team with where with Ruckus and Fernando if you don't have a team you're pretty much just a hood ornament waiting to be defiled by hooligans.

Its a mixed bag with Barik. On the one hand he has a health boost and a lot more survivability. On the other hand its almost like his turret got nerfed again because now that everyone starts with 1000 credits, they can buy Bulldoze 2 straight out of the gate.

Opinons on Evie? She pretty much shits on all the oposition and is fun as fuck to play, I assume she's going to be nerfed but I'm unsure on how they'll do it.

None of those games are as entertaining right now, playing TF2 now is like going to a funeral, quake live is now b2p, ut alpha barely has players depending when you play, xonotic is only active during prime times and toxxik is probably the worst arena FPS released since that horrid Nexus remake that came out a while back.

That said Reflex got a patch recently, that game is fun.

Why was drogoz nerfed? The rockets were slow as shit, you'd have to be retarded to not be able to dodge them, making it a game of positioning and surprising your enemies. The flying was good only for surprises, it had nearly zero worth as an escape method. Is the character now all about just hanging back and hoping that you might slightly contribute towards assists?

Because if you actually played this game you'd see its the furthest thing from shallow. With cards and items there are billions of combinations you have to constantly adapt to. But since you're a stupid fucking parrot you wouldn't know that.

They nerfed him because he was too prevalent in comp. It was a shitty decision. He still does great as air support. You can get crazy kills coming down from your booster by just shooting at the ground. They will buff him again now that nobody plays him, I guarantee it.

I'm not particularly defending the game or anything, it does have its issues but curb stomping newbs doesn't really mean much. Anyone with FPS experience (which you seem to have) should have an 80% win rate until they reach the higher elos. The vast majority of the player base is very fresh to the genre.

Shit isn't exactly baduk in terms of in depth strategy but it is there. Personally I just love the siege/payload gametype and this game offers the best gameplay for that right now. Reminds me of old TF2 without the painful stalemates.

The game doesn't have healthpacks but it has regeneration, which is arguably even more cancerous.
I say arguably because it's not, it serves a purpose to keep the action going without forcing you to retreat too far. Sometimes I prefer medkits and how they can be used for strategy by leading your oponent's movements, controlling an area (and especially with Sombra) but other times, I prefer the regeneration since it's like a medkit you can activate anywhere provided you can take cover.

And since Paladins is the game that actually features horses, I'd say it's the one with horseshit. :P

Must be. The game has been alive for a very long time and features a massive roster of Gods to play as.
I remenber playing it during it's beta with only roughly 15 Gods.
If it lasted this long and had so many championships and tournaments, it has got to be doing okay.

It's a neat game and one of the few improvements a MOBA ever had the guts and brain to try, though it still has some of it's shortcomings.

The competitive spirit, I guess. Must had been the same for Quake in its day. You really can't have a multiplayer game where people play against each other without some faggot being too concerned about his k/d ratio or his ranking over having fun with it.
I even had "friends" that acted like this in cooperative games, always making a competition out of it, like playing L4D and the faggot suddendly starts sprinting and making it a race, always making a point about how he was the first to get to the safehouse or how he killed more zombies than everyone else.

I quite like these games where you have to cooperate because that same faggot got recked in Versus mode since he never worked with his team. Same thing for most tryhards in Paladins\Overwatch\Smite, etc…

In Smite itself, I once had a guy claiming I was boosted, that there was no way he was playing against someone as bad as me (bad start and bad lane mate against natural counters, but that doesn't matter :^)
But get this, I was in casual mode, not even ranked. He actually though someone paid money to be boosted in the casual mode where there isn't even rank.

Its because its a highly competitive game that people are passionate about. They get angry even when playing casual because they are always in that comp mindset, even if it is warmup time. I think the shittiest part about it is when you have someone who is Master rank queueing with four bronzes and getting mad because they don't know how to play yet. Buck is a little in need of a buff. Like, I feel like I 'have' to get deft hands to counter his slow reload and low ammo.

In Makoa's defense if you master aiming your hook to the right of people and pulling them to your side or behind you then you can really CC pretty well. Nothing more satisfying than hooking an annoying damage dealer with low hp and blasting them.

Tip: import card loadouts from board leaders

Just started playing, but Fernando, Barrik, Skye, and Ying are who I'm playing atm. I'm noticing most teams win by default if they get a healer or something to block damage so that may be pushing me towards support/front-line roles (that and everyone seems to insta lock damage heroes).

I don't have anything to add because I dropped Paladins after the first time I tried Overwatch last fall, so here are some kind of randomly colored desktops I made from a transparent picture of Kinessa I found a long time ago.
It would be interesting to try Paladins again after playing Overwatch for so long because from what I remember all the characters are basically the same between the games except with their abilities shuffled around.

i like evie, or i want to. i dont like her as much since they removed the ice block blink. getting the slow and damage bonus from the ice block is pretty much impossible without the blink, youre going to have to get in to melee range anyways since her projectiles move like glaciers so it used to work out just fine.
id love to play her aggressively, but she seems more suited to being a hit and run harasser these days. indeed, the only evies who seem to give my team trouble arent playing balls to the wall aggressive but harassing anyone who takes a rear position.
hyper aggression can work on her, but generally someone else on the team has to realize that shooting at damaged opponents will more easily remove them from the fight, which i dont think anyone from brazil understands.

ive also had trouble lately cancelling flight early by firing a shot off. something i had to do a lot against drogoz, edgeman and other evies. is it just me?

theyre the kind of games that usually make it feel horrible to lose in. there are sometimes cool razors edge games that keep you on your seat till the very end but in general its a long drawn out process where its clear early on who is going to win and who is going to lose. the interesting rpg mechanics that give people an interesting idea of gaining power at various rates over the course of a match to use as leverage for this or that strategy also turn them into this arduous snowballing fest.
perhaps one player did well while the rest of his team wastes the advantage he gained which he wont gain again for the rest of the match, or perhaps someone fell behind because a teammate was inattentive or not on the same page. things like that inevitably lead to that kind of atmosphere.
additionally you get people who take the metagame very seriously, and tend to bring that kind of crap up when things get rough, discounting their absolute ineptitude at the more basic gameplay elements.

so what do you prefer on evie? i max out teleport range and of course flicker (heal on blink), but it can be difficult to get any precision out of it. didnt used to have to max it so i had a few extra points to put into healing ice block, which seems to be the only time that ability is useful.
im thinking maybe i shouldnt max it out on maps that dont have enormous open areas or when they dont have a kinessa.
