Does this series still have a chance?

Even though the outlook is pretty bleak due to the recent games, I still want a bigger game like the original on modern hardware. The Japan-only DS one was good, but from there they started fucking up what made the series fun in the first place.

Photo Finder was gimmicky (nobody wants stupid camera games), and it seems like they threw a big "fuck you" with the obviously rushed, half-assed exploration stages. People say they liked Park Patrol, but I thought it got pretty boring after awhile. As for Zip Lash, it was decent- definitely generic but not as bad as people say.

How is this series anyway? It always looked cute and looks like it had the same atmosphere of pikmin where you're small and there's a bunch of human items regarded as relics. Should I emulate one of them?

Chibi Robo Clean Sweep! is the best one. Also holy shit both DS games have some amazing graphics that are really held back by the low resolution of the NDS screen. So playing in emulators is a lot better.

Why is Chibi-Robo so cute?

The original is probably my favorite game of all time, I would suggest you start with that one and then the DS fan translation. It oozes the pikmin atmosphere (not the gameplay), and you interact and help out toys that come to life at night

Clean Sweep is a small notch below the gc one for me. I agree on the graphics though, I was blown away that the DS was capable of that. Did you cheese with savestates for the casino chips?

Yeah

Same here

The series has as much of a chance as Custom Robo.

I'm sorry

It might be better to stay dead.

I see the reality but I-I'm still hopeful. They did release a 3ds theme with characters from all the games (even unlocalized ones) after all

>Chibirobo crossover with custom robo

>I was in 3rd grade when the original game came out here in burgerland
>mfw reviving Giga-Robo at the end of the game
>mfw Jenny's wedding
>now 19 going on 20

I feel this pain

I'm a year older than you, my friend had the first game in 4th grade and I played it with him all the time.

Why do they make it so tedious to get the costumes in Zip Lash?

Probably to push Miiverse functionality but it was still annoying and pointless.

Last I heard they were really counting on the success of Zip Lash which is sad, because that game was forgettable with an annoying level progression wheel and it wasnt what I wanted from the series.

It's really frustrating, Chibi-Robo is probably the only game I'd blindly buy any games in the series in hopes that one day they make a true sequel. Nintendo already makes a bunch of gimmicky shit that doesn't sell well, why not make something that doesn't sell well but has heart?

Space Hunter Drake Redcrest!!

Ziplash looked pretty cool. I can see nintendo making another one of those to pad the switch lineup.

Dreamgame would be if they returned to the original concept, but twisted all the presentation and music to make it (sarcasticly) seem like a grand epic journey.
Or even just straight made fun of the last guardian with a beat-for-beat parody.

what do you mean? I'm all for returning to the original (actually felt like a grand journey despite taking place in a house)

Could anyone convert this to a more presentable form?

I can't into the technicals, but has anyone hacked the GC game for the assets? Just judging from the graphical style and sound effects it seems like the perfect series for a fangame if Nintendo dumps it

It's quite a complex and well-designed title with lots of detail, the simple graphics don't equate to simple and easy to design gameplat.

CHECKED
And that's true, it's been awhile since I played so I forgot the intricacies but I plan on replaying once I get some time

Mostly in sound design.
Like have a bookshelf that's climbable, and as you scale it a mountainscape wind starts building up.

That would be a nice touch, I was away this past month and it got me thinking about a fully-fledged chibirobo game like the original but instead it takes place on the beach/resort or something similar. There would be a chibi-surf board or RC boat, and you'd have to run down to the water's edge and wait for the waves to come and go to grab cool shells. Make it kind of like animal crossing where there's new stuff and interactions each day (a christmas event would be awesome). Fuck I'm getting so enthusiastic about something Nintendo will never do.

Forgot how good the music is too

The ending of Zip Lash is probably as close to the crossover as we'll ever get

Bump

nah, nintendo is retarded these days

The series just needs a proper sequel to the original

That's the title screen music, and this mp4's quality isn't at all bad. If you just want a simple music file, mp3 converters are very easy to find.
