Creature Flicks

What are some good monster flicks? Vampires, zombies, werewolves, whatever floats your boat.

The ritual had a cool creature for a recent movie. You'll probably have to go old school for good creature designs for the most part though.

A pretty decent watch. It somehow made bigfoot scary.

Dog Soldiers
Leviathan
The Blob (either version)
Near Dark

Godzilla 2014

Fuck me, forgot image.

What film

That's from Stranger Things season 2

seriously?

I've always been partial to sandworms, love all sorts of creature features though.

serus

wrong sam

Well fuck me, guess I have to watch it after all. Thanks friend. I think.

What's going to happen to his hand when the barrels start rotating?

Any porn featuring that sexy beast?

I'd watch a Grim Dawn movie.

Mein Nigger!

...

hopefully with el… :^)

Finished it yesterday, not bad. Really liked the scenes where they'd mash the store with nature. Didn't like when they introduced the cult to much.

Leviathan: thought I'd seen it but haven't, looks good. Tracking it down now.
The Blob: watched both and like both. 1980's version my preferred.
Near Dark: downloading now

and just finished Dog Soldiers. Didn't think I was going to like it at first but the second half was really good, especially when they were breaking down the walls in the house to escape.

Amazing composition but killing off Bryan Cranston early into the film and keeping Godzilla on the sidelines really hurt it.

saw it on Sci-fi years ago and remember liking it, maybe I'll watch it again.

seen em all.

gotta love how Leviathan was just everything that worked in other horror movies thrown together. Liked the suits and the setting though.

30 days of Night, watched it last week. Was surprised with how good it was. Don't bother with the sequel however.

genuinely surprised at how good the creature design for the ritual monster was. Movie was interesting, albeit generic, but the monster was great. In the early parts of the movie when it was just *BROWN THING IN FRAME YOU DIDNT SEE MOVES* I was scared it was just going to be some stupid tree monster, but I'm glad I was wrong.

Gamera is ultimate monster kino

the fuck is that super mario bros tier nes shit

It's japshit, just ignore and move along

My favorite monster flick is still The Thing (1982), but the Ritual was actually pretty good for a netfix original.

This isn’t to bad to bad so far, definitely budget but the main character is interesting and the directing can get weirdly okay at times.

Anything from Hollywood.

...

I got this recommended here, it was kino.

what are some of the older creature flicks worth watching? Just trying to see if I missed any.

Pic related is pretty neat.

...

Nightmare on elm street is good.
Critters
Tremors
Gremlins
Scrooged
Ghost busters

The new The Thing has a really good Thing design but it's poorly used.

I was just sad they didn’t go with the puppets and animatronics they had made for the movie

King Kong definitely

DAGON….

feels like this was pretty ahead of its time but fairly flawed.

I really can't tell if it's a good movie or not. I feel like killing off most of the cast 1/3rd into the movie really hurt the experience, and the parts with the kids could have been done a lot better.. but I still ended up liking it quite a bit.

Yeah that was ahead of it's time alright
