There were certain aspects of the show I genuinely loved. The Red Lotus were great villains, a good amount of the action scenes were well thought out, and it did have a good sense of humor most of the time. It’s just that Bryke can’t really write a long term story. They’re great at world building but they need someone else to help write around that, which is what happened with ATLA. At the end of the day Korra can’t even compare to its original series, but it can stand on its own even with its many flaws. SuYin sucks though. A genuinely awful character.

Korra was a constant struggle of being very good or very shit. For all it's quality animation and choreography. It's generic ham fist writing trying to touch on important subject matter is drowned out by the incompetency of it's staff members. Literally the only hype during the finale were the yurifags and their ship cancer. That is literally all I remember about this show on Holla Forums. I remember being excited and than thoroughly disappointed.

Problem with LoK is that every book is written as the last, so they have to tweak characterisation between them, devil and deus ex machina and whats-hers-name being nothing more than mcgufin dispenser until they shipped her with Korra. And they didn't even had any chemistry besides her standing near wheelchair bound Korra. That's one step away from "btw he married a man" ending Shiro got. They should have at least dedicated some screentime to them interacting or something. Maybe they could have used limited animation and replace recap episode.

I thought the Red Lotus (and season 3 in general) was very very kino. I've watched and re-watched it a total of 3 times. I also liked Amon, though admittedly I was disappointed that he turned out to be a bender. I would've loved if the later seasons further explored how disenfranchised non-benders felt.
