You got fired or made redundant?

>>116870487how's that über ales edition holding up for a paperback ?

where were you when DC dieI was at home reading when phone ring"DC is kill""no"

>>116870511No complaints from me.

I'm pulling the trigger on Thorgal, i must restrain myself from buying the complete series in one go, i have so much nostalgia for this series and i strongly recommend it.Also shit>>116870002 that sucks, i'm sure things will work out, have you looked elsewhere ?

>>116870630fuck me boomering it up

I did at least get this today.Took stock of what I lost in my recently imploded relationship, a lot of Vertigo rarities unfortunately.

>>116870630>i'm sure things will work out, have you looked elsewhere ?I'm looking, but covid has me stressed at working a wagie retail job and I might hit up unemployment for a bit just to give myself a break and to destress and then start looking again.

messy but w/e

>>116870903Depending on where you are, i'm sure there are many opportunities that aren't retail. Don't over-stress yourself user, look for some jobs and if one isn't up to your liking then switch it up.Everything will be ok

>>116871011i'm curious about that Nausicaa box-set, i saw it on another poster's shelf, is it a 1 for 1 of the movie ? And is the at good ?

>>116871033Oh sure, but I'm still working on school and not many places other than retail and fast food will be cool with a school schedule

>>116871221oh yeah that's for sure, but not all cooking job are fast food, you could look into that, maybe even waitering

>>116871078No, the movie as made before it was done, iirc. The manga is far, far superior. It’s well worth your time.

What’s everyone reading? Savage Sword v3Silver Age LSH v3

So found out why it's taking so long for IST to ship my copy of Uncanny X-Men vol 1 Omni. The dumb fucks misplaced it in their warehouse for 3 weeks and they didn't bother trying to replace it until I emailed them twice pissed as fuck. Its finally been shipped now just waiting for it to get here. Worst experience from IST to far.

Attached: IMG_20200811_193831.jpg (2886x3948, 1.73M)

>>116871359Thanks i will definitely check it out then !

>>116871011>princess doodledick

>>116871078nausicaa is my no1 favorite miyazaki so I'm biased but I cannot recommend this edition more. as far as content, the manga definitely extends the eco-war theme and goes deeper into the political and historical nuances of the world. As far as the book goes the color inserts are beautiful and the books are well designed with careful attention paid to size and layout. it's the most affordable hardcover collection I've ever purchased too.

>>116870530This is what happens when Monopolies go unchecked, AT&T doesn't give a fuck about 80 years of publishing. They only care about maximizing profits in the short term like the stupid capitalist fucks they are.

>>116871389Saw ya in jsa, foolAbout to read Army@Love

>>116871396Well, at least they didn’t just take your money. Also, be prepared for UPS to sit on it for DAYS.

>>116871445This is pretty much the only other thread I visit, fellow Owl.

>>116871396thanks for reminding me i still have to start buying berserk hardcovers. FUCK.

>>116871450I demanded they shipped out through Fed Ex and eat the upgraded shipping cost in exchange for their negligence over the lost copy situation. Should be here by Thursday. I seriously don't trust UPS anymore, it took them forever to deliver my copy of Uncanny X-Force and it arrived in a completely empty box with gaping holes held together by 3 pounds of packing tape. The fucking mongoloids abused the box so bad that all the packing peanuts IST shipped it with fell out of the box. Was completely astonished that there was no damage to the book itself despite the box looking like it exploded.

>>116871410The battle scenes and forest porn are also fantastic.

>>116871410i felt the movie was missing something, thanks user

>>116871504Yeah, UPS sucks.

>>116871535Yup, if USPS dies we're all completely fucked. Would rather kill myself than live in this late stage capitalist nightmare anymore.

I ordered Seeds and Stems today. Solomon Kane and Nexus v6 are on the way. I’m way behind on Nexus.

>>116871389Creature Commandos. Savage Sword of Conan vol. 1. Uzumaki. Gianni's Monstermen.I'm in a mad dash to make up the last few months of not reading due to pandemic depression to make my goal of 125 books by the end of the year. I'm at about 34.

>>116871992The Beauty has nice art, but the premise of it was the best part. It kind of blew it's load early, and the main plot was resolved by issue 10-12.I think I read until around #20, and it became all flashback arcs.

>>116872067>the main plot was resolved by issue 10-12.If that's the case Im covered, those two have till 11. And besides that as I said low selling series so they probably wont continue it.

Anyone have recommendations for Captain America in WWII stories? Trades or uncollected issues are fine. I'm planning on picking up Theater of War already.

>>116872740That omni's getting reissued soon, isn't it?

>>116871445don't read the wondy from today. either it's a cliche fake out, or wondy just murdered the shit out of a bunch of soldiers

>>116872510Fuck you.>>116872552No, the beginning isn't that good. It's among the weakest off all Urasawa beginnings.

>>116872926Yeah, I think so. >>116872880The Madbomb story wasn’t quiet my first, but it was pretty early.

>>116872937That's surprising, I foresaw this arc as being really tame and by-numbers for kids to buy coming out of the movie

What makes up most of your shelf? Full stories or volumes in a series or omnis? For me atleast I prefer singular stories or mini series.

Bolland Strips is a cool book. It collects his series in A1 and some other short strips that are drawn in typical Bolland style, but also has like 50 pages of a one-page cartoony gag strip that I would not have guessed was drawn by him.I also just got in a collection of Mothers News which has newspaper strips from Michael Deforge, Chuck Forsman, Mickey Z, and Brian Chippendale. Reading through those now.>>116871011Great stuff. I love that New Issue bin for your small press stuff. I'm jealous of the Eightball collection.>>116872479I kind of agree. I know there probably are no good solos of these two but here it goes. Are there any great one-shots of Cyborg or Static? I don't mind race crap as long as it doesn't go overboard. I'd especially love to read a thriller Cyborg book because the internet offers a lot of interesting plot lines

>>116883870Static' OG series was great

>>116884001It was okayish, certainly not great.

>>116883870For Cyborg, there's not a whole lot since most of his development comes from the main New Teen Titans book. But one good issue that fleshes out his back story is Tales of the New Teen Titans (first series) #1. Another short story focusing on him is Tales of the Teen Titans (note the lack of "New") #56-58.JLA/Titans is a story arc in which (after a whole bunch of bullshit in the latter half of NTT), Cyborg essentially becomes Unicron and the JLA and Titans have to team up to stop him. A lot of Cyborg fans love this story, but I'm a little meh on it. It's only three issues. The Flash by Geoff Johns vol. 2 contains an arc about the Thinker that involves Cyborg eventually losing the new powers he got from the above story and getting his old body back because Johns's autism. It's a really great arc in itself, though.None of this stuff is anything close to cyber thriller, though. Standard superhero stuff.David Walker wrote a Cyborg solo series a few years back that started out promising, but apparently editorial wanted all his stories to be robot themed and Walker walked off the book, replaced with John Semper Jr, the lead writer on the Spider-Man animated series from the 90's. It's decent. This series plays with the cyber themes a little more.

A bunch of stores suddenly restocked an old OOP Avatar Library Edition this week (The Search, from back in 2014). A lot of the listings haven't caught up yet, used copies are still listed at £70+ when it's back in stock new for £25.Now Amazon is listing North and South (from 2017) as being expected in stock before the end of the month. Still no sign of the others, they're all still going for crazy money second hand.Stealth reprints? I didn't see an announcement anywhere, but if it is, then thank you Netflix.

>>116889207>>116889361Took a couple pictures of pages that weren't already shown. They really don't do it justice. Part of that is having a shitty camera, but even a good one can't capture how vibrant the color is. I love the fake aging color on the retro edition and the small differences in things like screentones.

>>116893578The paper for the black and white version is perfect. True newsprint, with the cover a bit thicker but still thin enough to feel like a book from the 80s. Not completely sure how I feel about the paper on the retro version. Part of me wishes it were a little lighter to feel more like an old book in the same way the black and white does. It's about the same stock as the current DC books, maybe a bit thicker. The cover is really thick, if not cardstock it's just one step less.

>>116894748And on the DC side at 50% off (but of course who knows if all of them will get cancelled)>Plunge, Daphne Byrne, JL by Snyder deluxe 2>Promethea deluxe 3>Legends of the Dark Knight Jose Luis Garcia Lopez HC>Y: The Last Man Compendium 1>Deadman Omnibus*>Injustice Omni 2>Nightwing Prince of Gotham omni (new 52 nightwing)>Batman The Rise and Fall of the Batmen omni (aka Tynion's Detective Comics)*probably contains Neal Adams fuckery

>>116894840Does the old Deadman omni has Adams fuckery, or was it out early enough to avoid that?

>>116894748UXM 4: at last.

>>116894873I think it might have some fuckery done to it.The series of six (or was that four) trades they put out later definitely had some of his "remastering."I think the first story was redrawn entirely.

>>116893263oof, well at least you got one good book

>>116893263I really need to get those venom omnibuses before they get harder to find.

youtube.com/watch?v=E6qcoZGfiAMbros.. (skip about 10 minutes in)

>>116894748>>116894840At least Promethea and Y the Last Man are good on that list. So much garbage though

>>116891198Gonna read From Hell on the plane so it should keep me busy for 3 hours.

>>116893180Not really, most of the tpbs if you can find them go for at least 30 bucks a piece.

>>116895320They are releasing the venom omnibuses as Epic trades.
