Can we get a thread about Loot games? Where items you find actually matter and are randomised?
Whatever genre is fine as long as it's loot focused. Permadeath or not, just give me my goddamn loot fix!

How retarded are you?
...
Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst
"Loot" isnt a genre
...
Grim Dawn and PoE are the modern arpgs games. Anything else is shit.
Agreed, the Diablo wannabes are pretty shit in general but there's a lot of new indie games that are loot focused.
...
How is it? Is the Anniversary Edition worth a go or is it Might & Magic 3 tier shit?
...
I'll say Underrail. It has so much loot that sometimes it's too much. It's also crafting porn, so finding that 120+ quality high frequency emitter to make a baller energy shield feelsgoodman.
You don't know shit about shit, commit suicide.
M&M 3 is the shit. But I was talking about the remaster that's missing content and arguably looks worse than the original sprites in some aspects. I was wondering if Titan Quest Anniversary Edition suffered a similar fate or if it's an actual upgrade.
Aside from a few weird bugs, I'd say it's a flat upgrade
Does this game get harder? I've died 2 or 3 times and it's always been because of trying to spam an ability that's still on cooldown or me hitting the wrong button on accident. It seems like there's newgame+ difficulties, but I find it boring to do the same thing again, just with bigger numbers.
...
It's the same way you can't go to high school because you failed middle school English.
Go on elite. I believe most undead or hero with reflection and 80% res to Cold/Frost wreck your shit.
I don't want to shit on the game but once you've beaten it you can zip through it fairly quickly when you know where to go and get around a bit quicker by skipping flavor text and knowing how to manage your loot.
If I were to button down I could probably get to the end game in under a week. The game shovels EXP on to you like crazy so leveling really isn't a problem unless you like to take your time and savor the environment, at that point maybe it would take two weeks? This is assuming you beat it once already and know the layout of the world and don't bother with flavor text.
I love the world so I don't mind going into it over and over. If you don't like the world I can see why it would appear grindy.
Are you fucking retarded? It's shallow as fuck, but it's still an arpg
Does anyone find Grim Dawn remotely challenging? Feels like I'm playing on easy no matter what.
it hurts so much anons
its challenging compared to the baby's first toy that is PoE
You already said that last time.
Is the original Blood Omen any good? It looks like one of these loot based diablo types and I want to get into the series, though I'm a bigger fan of action games.
Yeah, well, it hasn't changed!
Is it really?
I only played portables and PSO2, and while loot system resembles Diablo at first, in the end same weapon or armor always has the same stats, the same level, the same everything.
The only randomized aspects are added abilities and elemental affinity on weapons, but you can directly change those.
So after first few of hours loot-fest impression fades, as system is more like something you have in souls games rather than in diablo.
Is PSO1 any different?
Are you the same poorfag from PSO2 thread? Just play diablo 1, it's still the best one.
No ptw whatsoever guys!
Yeah, it dont have any endgame yet.
Play on hardcore, pussy.
...
you fucking retard OP
it's click and loot games. Shit like diablo is rng infested garbage. same with any of their genre. they're trash.
Enter the gungeon is a roguelite. different genre.
Stupid thread.
...
Stuff from premium tabs updates on poetrade on the go instead of waiting for parser.
...
How was that shilling?
KYS mate
You're either a complete drone or bad shill.
PoE is p2w garbage, the fact that you need 3rd party anything to even try to compete with whales only reinforce that fact.
Being better that a steaming pile of shit is not much of an achievement.
I'm sure you don't know what pay2win even means, but if your enjoyment of a game that about finding shit hinges on your ability to play the fucking market, then you need to go back to fucking up wallstreet you fucking kike.
Selling stash tabs sure is not ptw in a loot game. And ability to adjust the price in real time is also not p2w. You can play just fine with 4 stash tabs! You just need a fucking 4 accounts which trade via shitty forum engine that is parsed every few days! Sure it will take longer and you will spend half of ingame time by sorting inventory and you will need to be online with each account to sell anything, but its not ptw! There is no unfair advantage in ability to sell and store items in game about items. You cant even fucking hold currency without additional tabs.
...
So what exactly do you miss out on by not paying for stash tabs? Not steam rolling through map grinding as fast? A lot of the meta builds don't even require good gear. Not only that, but the challenge leagues reset every couple months so what are exactly are you whining about "losing"? You're upset you aren't winning the top autist pissing contest?
already called you fags out on your bullshit, oh but he's "shilling" because you don't want to put forth the effort of being better than someone else in a game that you see no benefit other than bragging rights because it's not even a pvp game. I hate this new casual Holla Forums.
if it makes you feel any better, the release update to the game wiped my level 74 character and i can't bring myself to play it again
...
You cant hold all the loot from them and waste time on inventory management. Yes you cant. You cant even hold all the fucking maps. You miss fucking loot, you lose fucking time, you cant even fucking hold the fucking currency or gear and you cant fucking trade at the same speed as premium users.
So all you lose out on is map grinding speed.
Maybe you should go and play a game with a single stash and see how much whining you do then faggot. Balancing loot drops to inventory space has always been a part of the game. You can pay to ignore it but it's hardly pay to win when you're playing PvE.
You know what? I kinda identified my problem with these games, it is something preventing me from going back to Diablo 2 which was one of my favourite game for years.
It's the lack of aoe properties on your normal attacks. You click one monster and your dude whacks one monster even if there is an army in front of you.
From games like Devil May Cry or Dark Souls I learned to appreciate your swing actually hitting everything it passes through.
After that going back to one-enemy-per-attack system is just frustrating.
Yes I know that in all diablo clones you have dedicated AOE abilities, magic and attacks but still when your basic attack, something that you use the most in the very beginning, only damages one enemy it just makes me want to not play the game.
One game that does right for me is Blade & Sword, some chink Diablo clone made on D2 engine about kung fu and shit. In there all your regular attacks actually hit everything the visually pass through, it is super satisfying.
Is Grim Dawn any good?
It suffers from the problems and benefits of TitanQuest, which is that you generally end up buffing a single ability to great power to remain effective, while you endeavor to keep everything else passive.
Grim Dawn has this somewhat mitigated by items that grant abilities, constellations, etc, but it's still present - after all, unless there's been some changes, the Aether Ray and the Eye are still at their best when focused on solely, and can carry a character almost entirely.
Save for my autistic issue >>11674276 it is one of the best in the genre gameplay-wise.
Aesthetically it's like the whole game takes place in one single huge act. I guess it's good for consistency, but gets kinda dull if you got used to other diablo clones' themepark standards.
May be you should fucking kill yourself?
It's pretty fun and has enough character variety to get a few runs out of. I like Grim Dawn more overall but the settings in TQ are more varied and have more color to them.
That game looks awesome I gotta try it.
Once you get beyond the first set of skills you're going to be using nothing but skills which do mostly have AoE damage in some form.
Learn to spell Maybe faggot.
Marvel Heroes is pretty good but it's going through some rough times, and it's always-online unfortunately.
A non titan quest thread I see.
Is it still klobberin' time all the time?
I've only played it for a little less than an hour early on because it ran like a one legged leper and entities kept popping in and out, making the game unplayable
yeah, but you have to give it time
I tend to spread my points all over the place because all the skills look cool. My Death-ray/Ice mage is a glass cannon and my summoner plays slow, but rarely has to get his hands dirty because SKELETONS!
Thing got better with his 52 review, if that's what you mean. He might get better with the new update coming soon.
I played as cyclops, I simply hit 1 button and chain lightninged every enemy on the screen to death. It was the easiest game I've played in a long time.
Diablo 1 isn't fun anymore because the movement is too slow.
Blacksmithing + Enchanting readers any loot in the game utterly useless
Just because loot is color coded doesn't mean its useful. There's only 3 real viable guns for Gunzerker at max level, meaning the other 2.7 Trillion weapons are vendor trash
The game takes an insane difficulty jump once you reach Ultimate. You NEED 50%+ resist of everything just to break even and it's common to die a fuckton in Act 1 before you get the proper gear for your build.
I have an 85 warder running a 2h build with health generated on hit. I have to be constantly attacking something or ill die, very fun to play
Not exactly loot intensive like ARPG, but D:OS has the most crafting options out of any game I've played. There are a ton of fun things to loot: candles which can start oil slicks on fire, empty bottles that can be turned I to grenades, even loot chests can be picked up and dropped in town.
You understand its old as fuck feature?

I just want Borderlands 3 to be tolerable. While I'm wishing for the moon, that some other shoot and loot game comes along that's far better and doesn't have spiders like every loot that isn't Borderlands.
Yeah, Nah, your a Cunt
Grim Dawn is shit. It's probably the best ARPG out there, and it's shit.
Crate have no fucking idea what they're doing with balance.
I loathe when developers have to keep trying to "balance" a game, it ends up fucking up with peoples builds and wastes time they could have used making new content
Diablo 2 had shit balance and yet its a fucking great game, Same like HOMM3 and countless others
A balanced game is not necessarily a fun game, in my eyes the only balancing a game needs is nerfing broken op abilities and buffing abilities that are so useless no one spends any time on them
I know, and it's frustrating all I have to choose from are Borderlands, Destiny, and The Division.
It's not "bad" per say, but it's pretty boring, everything looks the same, feels the same, I unistalled after about 3 hours.
Which Crate is constantly fucking doing, and they're not even doing it in a way that leads to more fun being had.
This has already happened multiple times in Grim Dawn. The funny thing is, the absolutely godly builds like Physical-focus Witchblade have emerged from Crate's balance-passes… still absolutely godly. Meanwhile, casters get nerfed to shit.
Try Shadow Warrior 2. Same loot mechanic as HurrDurrland 2.
This looks promising. Thanks.
Due to hard drive crash I actually lost most of my chars in Grim Dawn, including my pet master, got a link or a build for this? I wanted to try a different kind of minion build I mean my chimera/hellhound where wreking shit and all but I dont know if I want to do it again
Started a Warlock on Grim Dawn and I m not sure how I feel about it yet, especially the synergy with the arcanist tree at least for the leveling part.
I intend to go Deathray later on but so far I've just been messing around with Dreeg's Eye but that class really seems to lacks survavibility which makes me question the utility of the talents adding damage to your melee attacks. Might put a few points into the hellhound and try it out.
Still feels really weak compared to the warder I played previously.
You can go fire-Aether and later with Blood orb of Chtone cant convert Fire in to Chaos damage.
I remember them doing things like making bleed do damage to skeletons because one asshole made a pure bleed build and was assmad that he couldn't bleed them out.
What's the deal with 'balancing' solo/coop focused games anyways? Who are you balancing against? The AI doesn't give a shit either way.
its alright
