Is it out of EA?

fucking hell, when you could freely edit the terrein it ran better.

never ever

Why is Subnautica better than Ark?

Right now I'm trying to find that thing so I can get the recipe for aerogel. Wiki says it's in the starting area but I can't find it.

No, but I think it's almost complete. It's only missing the ending at this point. You can find and go to the final area of the game already, but nothing happens.

Yeah nah, fuck that shit. I'm amazed at how that game manages to slowly shift from maximum comfy to "fucking get me out of here" levels of spook.

Well you don't get ganked by autists with 50000 hours of playtime for one

The new update sure looks weird , looks like it turns into a puzzle game when you deal with the alien tech or something.

Is this a set piece to make it so another ship doesn't get shot out of the sky again?

...

yes

Ya gotta look around the crevices that are near the backend of the big ship, big fungus domes.

It's set up so you can turn off the gun then build your own ship to get off the planet.

I just want to know why can't I fix up some of those wrecks with the tools we have to make them livable. And fuck the devs and their limpwristed dicklessness, I want fucking guns to pop some sandsharks with.

Just dick around in the Aurora to find the blueprints for the submarine so you can get back to comfyness until you have to leave to scan shit. The submarine is 100% invincible, even from Leviathans, unless you go past the maximum depth allowed.

wasn't there a genetic modification planned for the character , after doing that why would you want to leave?

Yeah, there's a gene mod gun in the files that you use to take dna and play with it. Me personally, I'd leave those guns on to keep Alterra from that planet and the virus on it.

sea emperor in next update

Does Holla Forums have servers for either?

Wiki says the Reaper at least can shove the sub down below its maximum structural integrity depth. You ever had this happen? Once it starts pushing, can it be hard to get away, and it just bullies you down to your death?

Sea dragon can damage it. (or it least it can in the next update)

subnautica isnt multiplayer, but the two arent really comparable aside from being the same genre

Here is a torrent for the 1/5/17 build
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:3B66B89DD8B969E38F74D6044AA0554123A44D1A&tr=http%3A%2F%2Fbt.t-ru.org%2Fann%3Fmagnet&dn=%5B%D0%92%20%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B7%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B1%D0%BE%D1%82%D0%BA%D0%B5%5D%20Subnautica%20%5BP%5D%20%5BENG%20%2F%20RUS%5D%20(2014)%20(build%20572%20(42750))

I've sat near the Aurora getting Leviathans to show up and bash the sub and they can barely move it. I can't imagine one actually somehow pushing your sub that low, is there even any sort of chasm like that near the Aurora?

Maybe the ones near the edge of the game world eg dunes, far side of the aurora, north of the mountains.

But yeah the only way I can see them pushing you somewhere you don't want to be is if you're AFK, they can't do shit to a cyclops that's actually moving around and going where it wants.

The game is a neat idea, but its pretty shallow once you get going. Some spoopy deep sea parts, but once you get going the progression is pretty short. I would have liked to see more to be done with scanning creatures, more creatures and better base modules.

I decided to hop in and load my slightly older save after the "laboratory and ancient alien tech" update. I got to the lab, found the slab outside, read the crafting recipe and saw it called for a material that was new to the game. I said "fuck it" and quit.

I've spent enough hours in the game traveling the world and looking at things/surviving, I was not in the mood to fucking search high and low over the whole place again trying to find where this material was (probably somewhere deep but who cares).

A reaper can push the cyclops but it doesn't go far. You get a little nudge, maybe move a few feet, that's it. Seamoth is another story, it locks you in its jaws until your have 1/3 of your hull left and lets go. If it catches you again, or at any time when you're in an appreciably damaged seamoth, it will kill you.

Are the devs still shit?

They're the same libtards they were when they started

bump

ONLY LOVE IS WITH US NOW, SOMETHING WARM AND PURE
FIND THE PEACE WITHIN OURSELVES, NO NEED FOR A CURE

Is it possible to export the Reaper Leviathan's entire AI and mesh model to GTA Online? I want to troll people on one of my favorite servers.

Figures, the game's alright but it could have been so much more

But those first two are cancer. Would be better with something like myth.

Yup.

The noguns thing would be acceptable if his reason behind it wasn't one of the most retarded reasons possible.

"BUT MUH MULTIPLAYUH" fags have ruined too many survival games as it is.

No mods is a really dumb move.

Halfchan really fell after 2014, didn't it? Who the fuck gets triggered over R34 that tame?

I actually enjoyed exploring Vashj'ir zone in WoW. Later I found out that the majority of people just skipped it.

Thinking about getting this game

How viable is subnautica for occasional ironman runs and is it challenging? I need something thats comfy to build around but also still wants to kill me

Mostly people on 4chan try to force stuff they think is good. First time I've seen someone shallow enough to cap his own posts like that though. Kind of sad how easily they get rused.

Yah no modding will hurt the game in the long run for sure, maybe that's why it's an early access game :^) It is fun for what it is though.

There's not a single user on 4cuck who isn't a huge faggot now, anyone worth their salt left a long time ago.

...

whos that grill and where she from

It's not finished. It's not very difficult. Also current build is unstable as fuck and tends to corrupt the save slowly.

Better wait until they churned out the terrain streaming update that should make both stability and performance better.

Rosie from Valkyria Chronicles

Thank you seneor

what the fuck is that

...

My wife's son picked it up and thanks to Steam family sharing, I was able to give it a go. Seemed interesting enough but I'm curious what direction the game will take. I thought it was a comfy explore the ocean game, but my wife's son thought it was minecraft underwater and I guess it is really science fiction?

I might have to give it a more serious go when my gaming queue thins out a little.

...

what the fuck

If you had been slightly less impatient you might have realized:

You are welcome.

lel hes not even getting torn apart by the fkin levi levi is just tittyfuggin him halfchin confirmed fags lemao

...

Was gonna spawn it in the Ocean and have it scare the shit out of the other players.

...

I suspect subnautica won't improve much performance wise. The save corrupts and disappearing items they will fix. Ever since the xbox one got a release they have been tailoring the game to consoles. This isn't like Crysis, where they already have the speed suit in and just removed it for consoles.

/r/ing subnatica porn, specifically leviathan

It took 20 years but it's pretty well made.

They haven't gone through an optimization phase at all yet. First the terrain streaming needs to get finished, then they can go into optimization.

...

Google is your friend m8

Thanks, whatever version I had there were a bunch of terrain errors.

Fucking cunts.

...

Yeah, and that's not Subnautica. It's almost like developers can become progressively worse over time.

bump

Is this good yet? I was thinking of getting it.

Is there a mod for ns2 that adds players to the servers?

Sea Emperor in next update.

If you take your time and explore you will get some time out of it. i like building bases in random places. some of them are pretty comfy.

Those are hot

...

Fucking hell. When is this shit supposed to leave early access?

...

i hope multi-player is in the cards somewhere, i wanna play underwater pulsar with some friends

Multiplayer is off the table as it would require a whole re-do of the engine.

dam it

i still have nightmares

Nope, still fucked.

Remember the Great Bay shit in Majora's Mask with the giant eels? Yeah ya do!

==DEEP SPACE > DEEP SEA==

how embarrassing

...

NO! NO! PLEASE GOD NO!

tbh that takes away from he mystery/fear of the game. i wouldn't mind having an AI partner though. like some survivor your find.

Fuck you. I'm the god of death now. A reaper had to fly into orbit to escape me

Does anyone know why they changed the alien blood color from red to yellow?

Shit's weak.

Something about the violence rating. They would have pushed it up one step just because the blood was red.

This more than makes up for the cuck devs not putting any guns in the game, honestly.

In the next update, Leviathans will be Immune to the stasis rifle.

The developers are no-gun sissies who believe that guns in video games cause people to go postal IRL.

You're a rote responding retard that has no idea what really went down but you read in a thread that no guns is something to post in a subnautica thread.

From some kotaku article that I got by googling "Subnautica no violence"

Knowing that this is the mindset of the developers explains quite well why they'd change the blood color from red to yellow. So I pretty much answered his question.

Show yourself out.

Are you a genuine retard? It was just the first link I found on google. I didn't even post a link in this thread.

meh i wish you could ram shit with the cyclopes for damage

My wife wanted to see the dragon leviathan so I looked it up on the internet how to find him - go down from the tip of the Aurora and enter the inactive lava biome… but looking stuff up always felt wrong to me so it was a disappointment finding him like this.

However, later on I went to research the glowing spherical mushroom things on the south and found an entrance to lost river, which then lead me to the blue ghost-ray-thingy tree which then lead further down to the dragon leviathan, after which I found yet another passage to the active lava biome and another dragon leviathan (or perhaps the first one wandered down? Are there multiple ones?). That shit made up for the earlier "cheating". Exploration in this game is really awesome, if only it wasn't such a technical mess. It reeks of Unity and the developers are amateur programmers at best.

Does this game have mod support? Because I want to see colossal creatures and explore shit like in some Lovecraft stories And shit my pants in the process
Also, it runs better now? I remember it ran like shit like a year ago.

there is two spawns, i'm pretty sure the second one you seen is related to the "story" when it is finished. i really like the atmosphere in this game. the sub sounds really nice even when your just sitting back and listening to the ambient sounds.

Runs somewhat better. There is some microstutter that pops up every now and then.

Can you play as a white guy or a chick yet?

If you like lovecraft lore you should try bloodborne fam.

I won't buy a bloodborne station 4 until piracy.
There are plenty of Lovecraft stories that happen underwater. I mostly want to see temples and weird shit like that. That would be nice.

...

Oh, like insmouth?

no

New thing is the Lava Zone Precursor Base. They also removed terraforming, probably due to the huge fps drop that happens once you start changing the landscape.

Like "The Temple". You third-hand "Lovecraftian" fags should burn.
Oh, that explains it.

What a shitty fucking update wrecked my base

I heard about this. Man so much for getting back to it if I can no longer farm stalker teeth in my man made caves.

You could build a base into the terrain and it would mold around it, but even that is gone now. Holy fuck consoles suck.

Subnautica is on consoles now?
Holy shit, it died before its prime. RIP.

No shit you can. I was depressed as fuck one night and started drilling a 50m wide hole straight down from under my base, dotted with portable lights. I got a klick and a half down before being too tired to continue. Deleted the game shortly after because as with all EA games, there’s not a single fucking thing to do. Should’ve gotten screenshots of it, though.

They chose the laziest solution possible. Obviously the terrain changes the deeper you go. Maybe you can only terraform up to X depth before it gets too dense.

When are the going to put in the Cyclops base dock already? my generic island base is ready for it. Yeah, i know island is actually a pretty bad base spot due the lack of resources and being so close to the edge of the map but MUH LAND, and Safe Shallows is so close to the pod that it always feels like a waste to make a base there.

Anyway, i must say that the NO GUNS thing actually makes me appreciate guns more, so THAT backfired on em.

Honestly i gonna say my biggest issue is more the terrain tearing, even when i do fix it it tends to sneak itself back in every once in a while, especially apparent on Island/Mountains.

Come on, I just want to co-op with my younger brother. I'm not looking for PVP bullshit, that so many other multiplayer fags want.
PVP ruins so many good multiplayer games or just games in general. Because it's just dealing with some autist who has spent hundreds of hours more than you in the game, wrecking your shit and being proud of it. I just like co-oping shit with friends because actual fun shit happens between us in our adventures. I need more of those adventures instead of them playing MOBAs and not enjoying themselves.

Oh hey, I fixed it, I just had to kill myself. lol. Now the Sunbeam event counter won't fucking go away, I think it's because I used the precursorgunaim command so now I can't trigger that event again.

Now that No Man's Sky has base building, what makes Subnautica the better game?

It actually has content

Like? Last I saw, all there is to Subnautica is resource gathering, inventory management and base building. Is there a story, npcs, quests, new fish?

Yes.

Oh. Guess I need to update then, the last version I got was early last year.

why did i ever buy this

Don’t get comfy there (despite it being the safest and comfiest place on the map), because eventually the story will explain why everyone who stays on land dies.

lol, just kidding; they’ll never actually finish the game

...

Would you fug a peeper

I just figured it was due the ANCIENT ALIENS hunting survivors and the fact the island practically screaming "Settle Here" means it gets searched regularly. Most of my base is technically below the island, with my Moonpool as the underwater entrance. but is is pretty uninspired, i basically just built it there because i like parking the Cyclops in between the cliffs there.

Are those stilts new?
Never got them in my game, but I haven't built anything the last few months.

They're in experimental. Part of removing terraforming requires base modules to sit in the environment instead of shaping the land to make it fit.

I am sure they'll fiddle more with how they work. As it is, they make some bases look a bit ridiculous.

How the fuck are you meant to find what you need to progress when aggressive wildlife keep poking their heads out and fucking your shit up? People keep talking about some mythical stasis rifle that I've never found because fucking wildlife keep trying to eat me.

Have more

You pick up a few tricks along the way, Kelp Forest generally have fewer during the day and they are less aggressive, and if you have a Peeper (other Fish may work too) in your hand then any Stalker that would attack will eat that instead and go non-hostile for a while, go in quick for your Rubber/Lubricant needs and get out.

Grassy Plataeus is more annoying in that Bitefish are annoying as hell to deal with, so my recommendation would be to not goof around and not skim along the ground unless there is something to scan/gather since that's generally where the Sandsharks are, but all you really need from it is Seamoth Fragments and Mobile Vehicle Bay Fragments, and the latter is incredibly common in wrecks.

Infact aside from the Creepvine Clusters everything you need for the Seamoth and Vehicle Maker is actually readily available in the Safe Shallows, so honestly you might as well not bother hunting for Silver and the like until you have a Seamoth, just look for Fragments.

Honestly the biggest FUCK YOU early in the game is Crashpowder, not only because it can be difficult to find when playing "Blind", but there is that fucking glitch that prevents it spawning when it should, and the Welder is priority 1 honestly, if only to stop the drifting of the pod.

...

...

New update on Monday? Something on the developer Trello about adding the lava castle precursor base…

Get an upgraded pulse gun, load up on around ten batteries, become unstoppable!
No really you can eventually kill everything if you hit them enough times against the ground, I killed a friggin' Reaper doing that by hopping in and out of my seamoth and slamming it into the ground I tried fighting everything in the game up to the current version with a diamond/fire knife and killed almost everything at least once

The Leviathan's design isn't actually freaky at all.
If they wanted to actually make them terrifying then they should have done what Outer Wilds did with the Anglers on Dark Bramble.

I pirated an EA version a few months ago, it was kinda nice. Whats new?

Depends on what you mean with "A few months", but i will just recount what the latest one added.

Basically that there is a "story" now, you get Radio Messages every couple of days from a Rescue Ship coming to save you, 2 days after the last one it lands on Mountain Island. Or rather tries to, it gets shot down and crashes with no survivors or even new loot/blueprints, meaning it is essentially fucking NOTHING aside from a couple of minutes of voice work and a like 2 minute scripted sequence.

There is some more shit but it is rather minor.

When did Lovecraft start to get popular again?

seriously, is this solely because of Bloodborne? I refuse to believe it because those fags don't play vidya. What was the cause of this?

...

People are stupid cunts. That's all it is.

tbh we just need more base parts eg sloping tube connectors instead of just horizontal, so we can build around the environment better

Vague second-hand awareness of Lovecraft became part of pop culture. Most of these people lose their shit when they find out what Lovecraft thought and wrote about their precious dindus.

"Lovecraft"'s stuff has been mainstream since at least the late 80's.
Most of it isn't even Lovecraft, though, it's the fanfic-tier stories written by other authors long after Lovecraft's death. For some reason "LOVECRAFT FANS" act so fucking shocked if you tell them you've only care about the original stories rather than the Neo-Lovecraft stories.
The new authors are so pissy, as well. I remember seeing one dick around with the lore (although there isn't really any lore anymore considering the different authors never try to remain consistent with each other) to change a few "racist themes".
God forbid a man who died before the civil rights movement happened held unfavorable views on blacks.

Lovecraft was very right-wing by the standards of his time, though.

That's interesting, I never really noticed any kind of influx of "Lovecraftian" authors as of late, and I read a lot.

Do you have any examples of "Neo-Lovecraft" authors fucking with the lore user?

Just looking at that fucking planet reminds me of why I stay the fuck away from it.

Personally I'm more a At The Mountains of Madness, Dream Quest of Unknwon Kadath for Lovecraft's slightly longer works. As for his shorter short stories, The Portrait and Pickman's Model go down as some of my favorites.

Also The Shadow Over Innsmouth is perfectly fine, if somewhat entry level for Lovecraft reading

Quality taste. Funny how obscure it seems to be even though it's the only story that actually evokes the much glamoured thalassophobia. Most of the time the things are spooky when they get on the surface.

Entry level doesn't mean bad.

I love Lovecraft but damn if his prose ain't purple as fuck sometimes. It can be a tough read. Mountains of Madness is particularly bad with the adjectives and superlatives.

I always got the feeling his writing style was just a product of the times.

He was intentionally archaic and made fun of his style all the time.

Lame, but not unexpected from an early access indie.

Also read terraforming was out, that is shit.

How'd you feel about the case of Dextran ward? Probably my favorite. Though I haven't read everything yet.

It's neat, but the structure is weird as the narration goes from going over the "facts" to really wild almost action like story telling. It's an autistic historical fictions that morphs into some sort of pulp adventure (except the main character is an old psychologist).

Oh ok. Thanks user.

Insmouth is related to deepsea creatures impregnating people when travelling from their ocean cities. It's still related to the topic, you autist.

I never liked that one. Felt too coincidental he didnt get grabbed in the beginning like his compatriots. Other than that, insane mole people is kinda cool.
Personally, my favorite is Herbert West-Reanimator. Loved how the story followed Wests deterioration of ethics and humanity over time while he tried to resurrect people until the finale.

I thought they were pretty tame when I expected the monster to be a demon living in lightning bolts.

Oh without a doubt entry level doesn't mean bad, I was more defending it if anything. I mean, shit, it's probably one of his more direct entries and ended up being one of the easiest to translate into a videogame.

I get what you mean honestly, I decided to start rereading some (The Portrait specifically) and holy shit, I forgot it can be a bit much. Didn't know he did the shit on purpose though, in a way it kind of works out quite well.

Fuck me, it's late. Also another favorite of mine is Out of the Aeons. I guess the thought of something being so horrifying that not only merely gazing on it can entomb you in your own body, but the image that is almost permanently stained on the eyes itself is capable of doing the same

I thought it horrofying that the ancient priest was so close to getting healed but then gets euthanized because the scientists refused to acknowledge the obvious conclusion that the guy was still alive. He was propably mad, but at least he would have had chance to relate history of the long gone world.

no multiplayer no buy

Rote responding retard spotted.

...

Goon identified.

Retard identified.

Lemme tell you this, user. Basically any game is fun if it has multiplayer. If you can't enjoy a game on your own then you simply don't enjoy the game, try another one.

Subnautica would not benefit from multiplayer. It could maybe help in autistic base building, but otherwise you'd just divide the finite resources and make the whole thing more miserable for everyone. Even two player coop would be a hard sell, let alone a full server.

If the games selling points are scavenging, crafting, survival and exploration than I personally have no desire in doing it alone.

You make it sound like the resources couldn't be tweaked. I think there are benefits to be had in multiplayer. I'm not asking for a full server. I'm asking to drive around in subs with my mates and build a cool undersea base, followed by hunting a fuckhueg sea monster.
If that's not what the game is about, then the games not for me, hence 'no multiplayer, no buy.'

It's more than tweaking resources. Even assuming you're going freedom mode, to even explore in pairs you'd have to build two submarines. That alone means redesigning a lot of shit. You'd have to make the cyclops accomodate two or more seamoths, for one. Plus you'd need to, revamp the aurora, put all the unique items like rare fragments and alien artifacts in multiples. That sort of shit. This game is built from the ground up to be a step-by-step exploration adventure, not completely unlike a zelda, or metroid.
The only way to include coop that makes sense would be through asymetrical coop, having the second player be just a helper that doesn't need to build his own shit, for instance. Or making MP a separate mode, focused on building, like minecraft creative mode.

Doesn't it run on unity?

base assaults from enemies when. Fucking Devs DO IT. What is even the point of bases and having damage if nothing ever happens

This is why guys like Bobby Kodick are actually needed in the industry. To choke slam cuck game developers through their assholes and get the job done proper. The game would actually be cohesive.

user, I regret to inform you of this, but you must kill your friends. All of them.

My favourite so far is the Hunter in the Darkness. It's plain old Nyarlathotep playing tricks on someone. Tricks that eat your face.
I'll confess it took me some lore reading to figure out why he lost his face though.
There's also one about some sort of fungi-vampire thing in an abandoned house.
Can't recall the name but goddamn, that one is great.
Pickman is meh-tier but he shows up in Dream Quest for Unknown Kadath and that's pretty cool.
What was the name of the one with the workshop with "wax monstrosities" that were nto exactly wax? That one was easily 10/10

Does this have pvp, or only pve?

Since everyone is talking about Lovecraft, where is a good place to read up on hi stuff online?

en.wikisource.org/wiki/On_the_Creation_of_Niggers

Didn't think It would be that easy. Thanks user.

hplovecraft.com/writings/texts/

Pretty much everything the guy wrote and them some more. Some texts have "contributions" by other authors, but they're clearly marked.
One thing you'll notice: Lovecraft talked with a LOT of other writers.

I kind of found that amusing

So supposedly the game's going to be released in may 2017
That game The Forest has also been in development for 2 years and is also in early access still, yet they are different. Both games have a static world, both have hostiles and you have to craft and survive. In Subnautica the story is still being fleshed out with no way to complete the story yet, there are no guns, enemies move right though alot of the terrain and are generally not very bright. In The Forest you can beat the game, rescue the kid, and see the whole story, there's usable pistol (2 if you count the flaregun), the enemies don't pass though the terrain much, and the AI actually maneuvers around to better fight you, calls for backup, and can be made to fear and avoid you.
While The Forest is still being worked on and improved, it's already far ahead of Subnautica in terms of what you can do and how refined it is as well as story completion.

The apple is better than the orange, because you don't have to peel it and you don't risk biting on a seed. In fact, you can even eat all the seeds of an apple if you want, in opposite to the orange, whose seeds are absolutely disgusting.

what a bunch of limp dicked faggots.

Was there ever a fix for the rainbow flashing water glitch? I would like to get into the game but it does that to my AMD

wouldn't that be cp? that reaper is so tiny compared to the fully grown ones.

they definitely aren't friends user, just some fags with shit taste I share an office with.

I think the story you're referring to with the "wax but not really" monsters is Herbert West: Reanimator

I'm hoping your post is in jest, because apple seeds are poisonous.

Unless you chew them, you do not actually get exposed to any toxins. Even if you do chew them, it would take a fuckton of apples worth of seeds to harm you.

OH SHIT

New update out:
unknownworlds.com/subnautica/castles-coffee/

Shota reaper

Well, they cleaned up the vending machine's model, but the coffee machine still looks like hot PS1-era garbage. Also I see they still haven't fixed the bug where you stop being able to grab things and swap out PRAWN suit arms until you quit the game and reload. >.> I-I only wanted some more kyanite devs…

Honestly the biggest deal is that the Seaglide finally got buffed back to a level it is usable.

Seriously, it drained 1% battery every fucking second AND took up a ton of inventory, It was baically only there to let you get the Seamoth Fragments slightly more easily, and even then i had play thorough where i got the Moth and Vehicle Builder blueprints before the Glide one.

Oh and that Auto-terraforming is gone But the Wreck duplication which is more performance draining and gamebreaking is not, Good Job on the priorities Devs.

Shit patch.

It's not a patch. Fixes are not its main purpose.

holy crap that's mozilla tier programing what the fuck.

Oh shit, im sorry.

Shit Update.

I was just pointing out that the Terraforming removal is honestly the most retarded decision they made and it ain't even doing SHIT for what it was supposed to fix so far now that it is out "proper".

Hell, i remember Voxel terraforming actually being a selling point way back.

They haven't removed the voxel terrain yet, so all the performance increases from the bit by bit terraforming removals aren't improving all that much for terrain streaming.

OP, go back to >>>/cuckchan/ and stay there you faggot.

...

Agreed. Need a couple of truly eldrich horrors.

>you can only pick up about 5 before the ground shakes
>computer warns you that "something" is close and you better leave the area NOW
>after warning, if you pick up ONE more item… it appears
>the cave collapses on you and you and your vehicle are dead

>it was never a cave, it was a mouth
>growling sounds were an empty tummy
>you digging up materials cleaned it's teeth a bit but also woke it up and made it remember it's hungry

I just want something fucking titanic in a total no-go zone that can gobble down the cyclopes effortlessly. Something you can never fight because it's god to you.

You can feed peeper fish to stalkers which will make them tame to you and they will then start bringing you titanium scraps. I'd like some other methods of making the sea life friendly, but that's an express ticket to ARK.

As for the quarantine, there IS some sort of device to do just that. I don't know how it works though.

Fuck yeah Wayne Barlowe.

If you buy the game while it's still in early access you will get a fish with hi-five functionality

Can anyone with experience on gamedev tell me if it's likely we'll even see a major performance overhaul this late into development?
The game runs like a complete turd and it's only been getting worse as new updates release. The constant popping in, stuttering and framerate drops make exploration a chore and I'm honestly scared to even continue playing the game because my GPU started showing signs of overheating after playing it for more than 2 hours yesterday, this is the first fucking game I ever played that has done that to my GPU.

The run I made the previous update kept crashing. Has anyone experienced that, and if yes, did this update fix it ?

It's drawn so it's only illegal in the UK.

Performance is one of the last things to be worked on. Got to add everything into the engine before you optimize or some new addition might throw all the performance work out the window and you have to start over again.

Right now they are removing terraforming step by step and once that is done can remove the voxel based terrain, which will improve the terrain streaming. Once that is done they can optimize terrain streaming with the new setup.

This would have been correct
If they weren't using the goddamn Unreal Engine. They even said that the reason for no multiplayer is because they coded it like shit. They are amateur programmers at best and chances are the game will remain with shit performance.

In their defense part of that is Unity itself, because it's a special kind of shit.

If they weren't using the Unity engine*

Brain fart right there.

pls no bully

Is it possible to actually kill a Leviathan?

Yes.

All the players who read the wiki would never go to an area like that.

Just spook my shit right up.

The internet ruined videogames

That sounds like fantastic gameplay and an excellent allocation of development time. Do you have any other amazing ideas? Maybe something like an RPG and there's a city but if you speak with more than 3 NPCs your character dies?

To be honest the game doesn't have that much mystery or fear anyways, besides slipping past reapers at early levels or visiting the really deep areas in a Prawn instead of a Cyclops.

Multiplayer would have been really nice if it was viable, which apparently it isn't.

Subnautica is a narrative-driven survival experience.
ARK is a competitive survival battle arena.

The purpose of Subnautica is to learn how to survive long enough to escape, while also learning important moral lessons about the wrongness of killing even in self defense, and how horrible it is to eat the flesh of other innocent living creatures even for the sake of one's own survival. You also get to play as a brown hipster, one of the rarest minorities, so most players will get to experience what it's like to be adrift, both allegorically as minorities in the sea of modern society and literally as a monkey in an ocean.
ARK's purpose is just hitting each other with rocks.

YOU be the judge.

Is the disease research center unblocked now, or did they literally skip working on a stage of the story to pretty up a latter one?

You can get in, but it's not textured.

Considering none of the bases are incorporated with beacons or event scripts, there isn't really any order they are required to be released.

>Vorefags start buying the game just to do that
>Proceed to carter to degenerates for easy shekels

Oy vey

YOU HAVE A LIVER
IT CAN BREAK DOWN CYANIDE
It takes over 200mg of cyanide to kill the average grown man.
The average apple seed has less than 1/200 of that. Your liver would break it down in a matter of minutes.
You will absolutely never realistically eat enough apples as quickly as you'd need to in order to die from cyanide poisoning.
It would take tens of apples to kill a grown man Assuming you ate these over the course of 12 hours, you'd actually be fine. By the time you've moved on to the next apple all the cyanide in the old one would have been dissipated.

Yeah, it's a lot more interesting if you have a fear of open water. I still don't understand what the big fuss about no multiplayer is.

Lucky there is nothing close to anal vore in the game.

Did the devs finish adding the giant hermit crab living in the wreckage?

I don't understand at all what these fuckers are triggered by.

THE GAME KEEPS FUCKING CRASHING WHENEVER I GO NEAR A CREEPVINE FOREST FUCK

Go to your save game folder and into the cells cache folder there. Look for "baked batch cells" 14 18 15 and 14 18 16. Delete those two files. Now your game should stop crashing.

...

These corrupt little shits need to get thrown into a blender and dumped into the sea.

These people don't even like Lovecraft.
Also, I'd like to remind everybody that this was an actual poem he wrote.

SJW fucking shits are intentionally trying to subvert his work due to what kind of person he was.

Right side of history.

It's funny that they think someone would care about them and that their meta-infested work will leave a lasting mark on literature. Hundred years later, they are getting their panties twisted by a guy who wrote weird stories for quick buck and his own amusement.

They know you're a virgin.

Different game

I disagree with them on no gun but you're a gay retard for not realizing keeping red blood would bump the Teen rating up to M

A hundred years from now, Lovecraft's own stories will still be well known.

These people trying to shit on his legacy? Not only will they not be known a hundred years from now, nobody even reads their shit today.

bump

not true, apple seeds are incredibly poisonous and can kill you very easily, DON'T EVER EAT APPLE SEEDS

Don't almonds have more cyanide than apple seeds?
