DAILY REMINDER TO ALL CMDR ANONS THAT WE HAVE A MINOR FACTION IN ED IN THE SYSTEM WHEEMEZ, SO GET YOUR ASS THERE AND BRING JUSTICE TO THE SYSTEM

I'm like 2k lys away and heading back, once the new update goes live I'll be in the system grinding to take over it

Shitty station interior and almost 100 LY away from the nearest pristine ring tbh fam.

No Man's Sky is the best space game, OP. Stop being a huge faggot.

angels fall first is actually a pretty cool idea and is doing a good job of scratching my non-EA battlefront itch, but holy Christ is it ugly

Thank you Admiral user who got the new thread working when I couldn't and I want to thank all of my fellow Captain and Admiral anons who was with us and to remember the other Captains and Admirals who were lost to our cruel mistress the black void we call life. Now enough sappy talk let's have a hopefully happy new year

PROSIT!

I need to find my Freespace webms

...

...

...

...

Been playing Battlefleet Gothic and it's so disappointing because when a bunch of the elements come together it's fun but most of the time it just leaves me scratching my head and wondering what the fuck they were thinking. You have to play so much with shitty light cruisers before you get even normal cruisers which barely feel any different and escorts are completely worthless since they explode on collision with a mild fart.

Game doesn't even run well either, it works fine in battles but it takes a solid 3 minutes of loading to get to the main menu and every loading screen in the campaign or skirmishes takes ages as well. It also keeps resetting my graphics settings which is really annoying.

...

Think that's all the webms I have or can find of Freespace

it's just a straight up reskin of their prior game

Tell a lie, found a few more.

...

What lie and what game user?

user it's literally in the first post I made in this thread. are you drunk?

RIP mandateshill

The poor bastard, I will miss him.

how long have they been dark for?

i'm with you man. in beta it was tight as fuck and the crashing/long loads were to be expected because B-BUT IT'S JUST A BETA. it was wicked fun and i thought it might honestly be one of the best 40k games ever. then they launched and Eldar came out and they just horrifyingly fucked every single thing about the game

technical problems? still there, untouched. awful balance? they keep trying to fix it but instead of hitting the "fix" button they keep hitting the "make immeasurably worse" button. more abilities? nigga they're fucking the balance so bad they're actually removing the abilities because some are too good of a hard counter. balance? the Eldar are unkillable unless they're played by a complete moron. fun missions? no, there's about a 50% chance that that mission you're about to start is going to be one of those retarded convoy escort missions that aren't any fun in the slightest

i haven't played since just after spess marines got added though so who knows, maybe space commie tau balanced the whole thing but really the first month or two after release was such an embarrassing shitshow that i really doubt it

I can tell you haven't played in ages because the Eldar are beyond shit now. They were actually killable before if you weren't a complete mouth breathing moron but usually their one trick pulsar spam would kill you if you locked them down. Now they have absolutely nothing going for them.

It's actually the Imperial Navy who are completely OP as fuck since they introduced a whole set of new abilities. On top of having a 25% chance to take no damage to shields they can and I am shitting you not, trigger a mutiny with every lightning strike.

Though if I were to sum up why the game became so fucked balance wise, is that the devs response to balancing was to just nerf everything into nothingness, completely disregarding that the thing making a certain race "OP" was the only thing making them playable. Chaos was the first to be hit like this when they nerfed Assault Boats.

An incident happened a few months back my toaster died but not me so I couldn't post or visit Holla Forums but I've been lurking, too ashamed to respond to talk about this game. But I must face my shame like a honorable man should.

A few weeks after promising to start communicating better

Unfortunately not just didn't see it sorry user.

afew weeks isn't a thing to worry over, afew months on the other hand…

Fuck, we need to solve that. which actually brings a question, any space games address the issue of drink flying?

Nothing since nov9, people are waiting for an update, odds are they are going to release version 1.0 and run for it just like hello games.

2017 is not THAT shitty

As the holiday sales wrap up, is there any space games worth picking up? Whatever happened to Angels fall first?

I think its still in EA

that's worrying

yeah, i mainly played Orks and whenever i went up against Eldar it was just a nonstop pulsar rave party. you basically had to pick and choose which obscenely fast ships to ignore and which to attempt to traktor and ram, since ork raiding parties were such shit-garbage and boarding torpedoes couldn't get through their super duper shields. infuriating, and the devs' response was to remove Taunt

Surprised you never went with Kannons and just used Da Bad Moon Favor to board ships from across the map?. They could pretty much one shot an Escort and funny enough I found them with their zap gunz to actually have some of the longest range in the game the Orkz could literally hit targets easily at 15k out with 100% hit chance but yeah getting in a situation to lock them down was tricky especially when they took out taunt.

i bought AFF a few days ago and it's pretty good, but man it looks bad. like i'm not even a graffix man but it's just a mess, all brown and grey and the occasional splash of sorta-gold. gunplay wise it feels pretty good - range is a huge deal in this game so if you're trying to snipe a dude from a mile away get ready to have to strive for absolute headshot perfection, or dump a mag into him. ammo is mag-based (think battlefield before 3), and vehicles are granted to players who reach certain score milestones per round. space combat is exciting as fuck; boarding with dropships feels just as good as you remember from battlefront 2

overall it's really fun so far, all the combat feels pretty tight and the customization is awesome fun (i like making grenades with both acid and napalm, so people get slowed and set on fire at the same time) and i really like the UI, but the game itself is ugly as fucking sin. i have faith in it but i am an idiot so bear that in mind

Good to hear that it's picking up. Chatted with one of their devs a while back and they said they'd learned their lesson about early access, and were polishing it a lot.

Eh sounds like I might wait on it then, I think the only other title I was curious about was the new Masters of Orion. I avoided it due to early access but it's out now. Anyone played it?

It's almost insulting how bland most of the upgrades are. Whenever I level shit up I spend like ten minutes pouring over every tooltip not to decide which upgrade I want to have the most but which are the least worthless. At least things looks pretty when they're drifting around shooting lasers and cannons at other shit.

AFF huh? The Space Battles in that shit turned into the Gundam Universe when Holla Forums sided with the Atarean faction Zeon fighting the United League Feddiecucks when it first came out.

Even had a situation where the map bugged and we couldn't respawn but the League players could, so we were outnumbered 10:1 essentially. What was even better is that we won that fight somehow and I don't think we had a single pilot under 30 k/d. Fuck me it was really fun fighting as the Atareans since most maps we never really had Capital Ships in most maps so we had to rely on our Starfighter pilots to turn shit around.

NEVER
EVER

...

2017 will be the year of Space Games.

is this a mod or something?

Endless space 2 lewds?

fuck I should got around to watching this sooner.

I managed to get Elite Dangerous running on a laptop with no dedicated graphics, I had to jam an extra usb into it for more ram but at the very least frontier knows how to optimize their games.

The station is a prison something so maybe we'll get some cool interior for that later. I wrote some deepest lore for the faction if it is listed somewhere ingame.

So wait, did you even check out the earlier episodes or are you just gonna keep on working your way from episode 45 till episode 110?

latter, at some point I'll go back to the start.

Webm #2,3 is of the Blue Planet mod series, of #1 I am not so sure

That's a sexy ship. Post more sexy ships.

...

Real original, don't see that exact same image every thread at all asshole. You gonna post the Gladiator too or let that fag post it for himself?

That's a big bar.

For you,

Or is it a tiny girl?

I can't help it if my shipfu is the best, what's wrong user you got ship inferiority complex or something?

He can post it himself

It wasn't even the best carrier in the clone wars.

But it was best warship

No, not even that, CIS had several better ones.

That got blown to smithereens in almost every engagement.

If you think I'm talking about the Munificent's then you're wrong (but they are sexier ships) and if you're going to claim the Lucrehulks and Providence's got shredded in larger numbers than the Venator's then you're just lying to yourself. The Republic was losing the war before Sheev inside jobbed the CIS, if you recall, and they can't have done that without the CIS Navy dominating.

...

The only thing those munificents could attract was republic turbolasers battery fire and droid ships were built in greater numbers and destroyed in greater and numbers don't mean anything if your dumb droids can't think on how to use them.

All Sheev did was end the war after you guys got beaten in and failed your surprise attack on Corucant and failed our defense of Utapau and by then all your leadership either died or fled the separatists and the Republic army was closing in on your homeworlds. And even then Sheev was more of a hindrance to the republic since he was the one that allowed secrets to be stolen and agents to slip in.

Everything you just said is irrelevant to my point. The rate of construction of and destruction rate of the Munificent is irrelevant to the status of Lucrehulks and Providences and Sheev's planned failure of the CIS at a certain point at the staged end of the war is also irrelevant. The Venator was not the best warship or carrier in the Clone Wars and the Republic was losing and that wouldn't have been possible if the Venator was the best anything.

But user, we already are space!

...

It's a thermal blanket that drifted away.

You're free to love a piece of shit, but that doesn't make it not a piece of shit user. It's just a bland version of a Star Destroyer, isn't even sexy or unique. I mean two bridges, what deviantart tier OC shit is that?

Your assblasted posts are objective evidence of the Venators dominance in psychological warfare. You are too upset to think straight just at the sight of the ship and can't help but fly into a fit of rage upon seeing its aesthetic form. It's alright user, best ship affects us in ways we don't yet fully understand, that's what makes it best.

Ah the Venator, a powerful ship to the uninitiated but we are initiated aren't we, Grand Admiral?

You might as well be comparing a Nimitz to a Kitty Hawk right now. If a ships successor isn't better than what the fuck are you doing.

user the Victory was not the successor to the Venator. It was the competitor and it won in the end.

Are you an egyptian crocodile? Because you're in denial user. Enjoy worst ship of the clone wars then, I'm not wasting any more time on you or your fagship.

One might wonder where they were during the Battle of Coruscant if that were truly the case. Maybe they are hiding behind best ship

You saw for yourself how cowardly those weird things leading your tin cans were. It works, as evidenced by its effect on your own psyche as well.

Not to mention

Someone post best ship.
aka. the Enterprise J

I'm saging because you're a retard and this painful conversation of your denial shouldn't be on the front page.

Is that so?

Fighting the Big Guys. Seriously look up the Bulwark Fleet vs the Victory Fleet, the whole event is literally one big /bane/post

not canon

It got remade canon in the recent novels

And I'm trying to say how was the Republic losing if they beat the CIS back at almost every battle and turn and had them on the ropes and head on the chopping block?no pun intended

The Venator saw the rise and fall of the Empire

I sincerely hope you aren't giving Disney money for nuWars.

It's magic. Done. Also fuck Jarnator.

Your memes=never ending dreams

Posting screenshots i took from neo-master of Orion.

...

...

Is the game fun?

no

To me at least.
Then again, im just happy to be able to lead tons of ships into a battle and watch the fireworks going off.

Anything in particular you would like to know about it?

Are the Terrans any good and how are the land invasions?

We all know who is the best shipfu

No idea because they were a pre-order bonus faction and so im unable to use them.

Land battles are basically just push button fights.
You can drop bombs on enemy which randomly nuke civilians, structures, infantry or tanks/mechs or nothing at all.
Invasion forces are one time use only, so you gotta be careful when using them, so use one ship per planet if possible, otherwise nuke the enemy till they are manageable for one ship or if you don't want to kill off civilians and structures, use multiple ships full of people.
The screen in last picture up here
is all you see of ground warfare sadly.

Did Michael Bay make that?

still best webm.

Fug, thanks for answering user.

I should pick this back, up. It was pretty fun but it didn't have many players at the time.

I disagree!

No problem.
Still, if you just want to play as humans, those can be found in game, also you can make a warlike human faction in race editor.

This is so fucking dumb.

I still can't believe it actually exists.
Are there blue-ray versions?

Yes, but only in Japan, same with everything else logh related.

Well, except for the first three books.

Oh and speaking of the blue-ray, they fixed some of the scenes a bit in the blue-ray version, by re-animating some scenes or cells (or in case of the Iserlohn invasion episode, the entire episode).

This is 100% retarded. Shitty dinky ship was somehow able to overcome the inertia of a ship ~500 more massive than itself.

Luckily I'm one of the guys learning moonrunes right now. Give me another year and I'm good.
Interesting to see that they changed such things from the books. Can't wait to read them myself.

...

...

No need to worry though, the first three books are in English now and apparently they are translating at least 2 or 3 more.

The rebels dug up a fucking 1000-year old cruiser and rammed it against the empire? Fucking hell Disney.

Fantastic. I suppose I know what I'm reading once I'm finished watching.

yeah its pretty fun, the controls for some of the vehicles are kinda buggy, but they aren't too bad. They are better if not as good as Planetside 2. I do wish there was a bit more polish with the graphics. Ai bots are pretty easy to fight with but the ai turrets might as well not even be there. Definitely a neat game, I hope it gets more updates.

It's even worse it's 4,000 years old

Fuck. That's on par with those kebabs running around with STG44's because they're too stupid to sell them off and buy fucking T34's for the money they'd get.

Anybody played pic related? The game is nice but there's a whole bunch of tiny errors on it that are really grating and the story is awful.

What game is that?

I should probably play through Diaspora again and make some webms.

erectile dysfunction

...

To be fair, i don't think that many people are likely to actually deal with the rebels and sell them anything worth that much money. Any legitimate businessmen are in the empire and the rest of the shitt is hutt-tier people who would screw you.

Besides that point, the people with STG44s have had them for ages and have had ample opportunity to sell them, if you dug it up just now and have two star destroyers you need to fuck up right now you probably dont have time for that.

Ive always wondered if liquid armor would actually be effective. Certainly ive always wondered why nobody builds in magnets or tractor beams or whatever into their armor so they can retract any parts that break off to immediately plug hull breaches.

Are you the leaf from /k/?

I don't browse /k/, i don't own any firearms nor am i particularly well studied on em, what would be the point? What's the leaf?

that liquid surface is actually mercury I if I'm remembering right, so it's great for something like a battle station like that since its just a static object and protects against everything but depth charges and torpedoes

first of all you'd have to know where the damages are going to be for it to be useful and that's not counting the whole

why not force fields then

No matter, you probably won't understand the reference. It was in a tank thread where they proposed making a tank out of water

hehehehe

I can't believe I didn't screencap that. One of the best posts ever on /k/.

It's still up
>>>/k/431941

I just have to thank you for linking this episode user, this series is great only on the 3rd ep but the empire is based.

...

I think Pulsar Lost Colony may come close to what you are looking for user

This was all on the easy setting no less. I fucking hate roguelikes, I clearly do not have the right mindset to enjoy them.

The Descent-y flight mechanics are really fun though. I'd love to see it applied to real game.

Pulsar's such a letdown

Its not done yet, I hope they make the systems more complex. It does suck that all you do is jump from place to place, there really isnt much else besides the missions.

...

...

Is this general finally turning into spess vidya and LOGH?

...

I never realized that I wanted such a thing. Now I'm upset.

Too bad endless space was shit.
Nothing had any depth - research, design, battles

Damn, Freespace is the game that fully immersed me into modding. My old love.

But why does almost everyone post BP? There's so much more out there than BP.

The whole ship system is what irritates me the most. Little sense of scale and all ships can mount the same weapons that act the same - no difference between a frigate and a battleship other than the number of weapons.

Don't think of a frigate as a ship with battleships weapons on it, think of it more as a battleship cannon having been given a frigate as an accessory.

Reminder that we'll never get a genuine sequel to Freespace 2.

...

Pellaeon class destroyers are the best SW ships, period. Almost complete arc of fire, with not much blind points; Lots of guns of all kinds, to fight every kind of threat, not just big ass ships; And all of that with a good price.

Empire ships look cool for sure but they are hella easy to outmaneuver.

the lack of players is the real problem

Well they released a MP game on Early Access. What do they think was going to happen?

with AI companions?

that's not all they did
latency was super shit until they worked on the net code, but they lost a lot of players to that before they stabilized it

that's just shit design fam

There was also a lot of gamebreaking bugs I recall that were still around 6 months down the line.

I don't even keep track, I stopped playing months ago because of the lack of new gameplay modes and the dominance of shit ones

Anybody ever fucked in space?

only in mass effect

Did Shepard bang a Reaper?

The same shit happened to me. There's very little cover against the solar flare and even if you find an asteroid to hide behind it only makes it easier for the named npc to shit damage on you. Then I found out that shooting mine clusters at freighters instantly destroys them so you can grind cash easily.

best ship coming through

where did all the stargate games go?

Ask NASA.
They might have tried an experiment.

Absolutely heretical

Oh look it's the Battlestar Reject.

No, that's the Battlestar Reject

Good, I hope NOBODY ELSE picks up the IP because they will rape it hard. We already have fan campaigns that are probably miles better than the tripe modern devs will give us.

...

Star Citizen

...

;_;

...

Daily reminder to take your ship into routine checkups to see that the hyper space brakes work.

Is it just me or does the Alliance in that have the Serbian flag and dress like Space Serbs?

this game?

Serbian flag is a generic hideous slavshit red blue white horizontal tricolour with a gay little symbol slapped on it so that's not very specific.

...

LOGH will always be the greatest imagining of space.

Anyone can explain why the ships get destroyed when they even dare to go off road in space?

fug

Bruhtip:

Get the level 2 or 3 teleporter and become a god.

Anyone played with eddi at all?

You're AFR and IFR are high. Put engineering spaces on your ships or have a bunch of maintenance ships following your fleet.

That or disable overhauls in the opening window.

Is the time to kill fucked or are they same team with FF off???

I was asking about LotGH

They have corridors surrounded by black holes and gravitational anomalies. Unless you want to be flattened line a pancake stick to the corridor.

They also won't be able to operate as a fleet effectively. The individual ships could make it through fine, but they'd have difficulty maintaining formation.

What was the last strategy space game that had singleplayer campaign? HW2?

Oh, it was kind of funny that they only have 2 roads to invade each other IN SPACE.

Oh wow I remember Angels Fall First when it was an Unreal Tournament 2004 mod. Holy fuck it was fun.

Is the multiplayer dead?

They are the shortest distances between two arms of the galaxy

same team, the mode has outlaws rebelling verses UEE soldiers.

Been playing NMS the last two days (pirated, of course)

I do not give a shit about no multiplayer, I fucking hate multiplayer.

But I just wish it had more to do and more variety. I wish the planets were actually round, buildings didn't generate in cliff sides and on open air, there were more alien races, bigger and more varied animals, procedural events that act like mini quests or even full fledged quests, the ability to have dogfights that go from space to the planets back into space again, city planets, actual cantinas, actual roleplaying, space station battles, and so on, and so on.

Is there a game that gives me that No Man's Sky open exploration but that Mass Effect 2 quality? That's NOT an multiplayer game?

The only thing that comes close is Freelancer and Elite Dangerous.

Freelancer is old but fun, and the other is pretty boring but has nice graphics.

I'll check out Freelancer, but I figured it being an older game there would be tiny maps and the loading would be done through an immersion breaking screen rather than seamlessly.

As for Elite Dangerous, if I could play it offline I would.

The two roads thing had to do with their maximum distance of warp, they needed some sorta stable end point like a star to navigate towards.
As for why the ships started exploding as they got to the edges of the iserlohn corridor, well im blaiming a combination of gravitational and radiation anomalies, old ship wreckage, seffle particles and random bursts of energy.

What's wrong with Star Citizen? Alpha gameplay looks fucking awesome.

Devs are promising a lot of gameplay features and modes and many think feature creep will kill it. At this point it's a matter of how much of the promises they'll be able to keep rather then the whole thing collapsing, it's too big to fail like that now.

it is fun until you find a bug and by god there are a lot of fucking bugs. I had a wonderful time in another guys Aurora I was piloting and him and some others where on guns it was pretty neat until the connie glitched into the launchpad after refueling, the game marked me with a wanted level as I "kamikazed" the crew then the whole game crashed. Here's hoping 3.0 when it releases won't be as bad.

Well ships fly in FTL speed, so it might be really hard to find a clear road. But that dont explain why they cant fly in slower than light speed while fighting in these corridors. Probably just because its convenient for the story.
And yes they might use stars to navigate and they can just be unable to warp without them.
But its bullshit that incompetent admirals use fleet as if they fight in 2d space.

Chris Roberts

What's map 1?

I've been playing Star Marine and it's pretty stable. Only crashed out of match a couple times over about 10 of hours of playing. The terrible lag spikes and invisible grenades are the only things that really bother me.

I haven't tried the flight part much lately. Last time I did it was pretty laggy and ran like ass.

I'm also hoping they pull their shit together in the 3.0 patch.

Underrated post.

It's not impossible to make guns work in space, You can just throw in an oxidizing agent in the gunpowder and you won't have to rely on our planet's atmosphere, most ammo companies already put an agent more powerful than our air in their ammunition nowadays. The main issue would be heat, since you'll be shooting in a vacuum there's nothing to transfer heat to and your gun's barrel will overheat extremely quickly

, Elite Dangerous has a solo mode always online though and could have those aspects when the atmospheric landings drop, will probably be dead worlds with atmosphere to begin with since we still can't land on lava planets without atmospheres which was promised for this season.
Honestly I wish that Fdev would just re-make the original Elite in the Elite Dangerous engine as an offline mode to sate all the aged fans that want it who for some reason can't stand to play the orignal.

What is the best space game to explore the universe and dick around on planets? Kind of like Rodina but with more content and maybe multiplayer. Pulsar was fun too but the planets your land on aren't open world. I even pirated numale's sky but it manages to be shittier than Rodina

Mp4 of the encouter, and he wasn't the only one to get interdicted.

youtube.com/watch?v=DzEtlaAUM2k

Was he being attacked by a pirate during that cutscene?

Xbox is always recording footage and can live record pretty easy so if an Xbox player gets it first they're much more likly to record and share it since the tools are there.

BRABEN FIX YOUR DAMN GAME

Yeah, the retarded AI cheats in this game by having mission targets or pirates spawn instantly on you wherever you go. It only even happens to me when they become my mission targets if I were doing some delivery missions, but haven't seen it happen on random npcs spawns.

That's how you know the video is legit since that fucking retarded mechanic is there.

It's fucking hilarious and I'm glad it happened, this should really demonstrate too Braben how fucking broken some of their "game mechanics" are. Clearly the npcs don't get simulated in systems around you, they are literally generated on a whim and spawn around you when convenient to give the illusion they're following the rules.

Shit bruh, I knew there was a snickers wrapper there but it still looked like a bbc

You are clearly all fags

So I posted this last time. What gripes did people have with it? I never checked back to see.

All is see is Loss.

I'd really like to know what people's problem with it is. What is consistently forgotten is, the Star Destroyer had just had Ion bombs dropped on it. Not only is not producing anymore thrust, it's repulsors are no longer online. Gravity is now starting to drag it down.

...

I played ED a little over a year ago. How much better has it gotten? Also, I don't want to spend $30 for a shitty DLC. Is the game good without it?

FUCK
AM I GOING TO HAVE TO PLAY AGAIN NOW? GOD DAMN IT

A small ships shouldn't be able to ram a big ship like that and survive. How is that a difficult thing to understand?

Also don't use real science on Star Wars. It's not hard sci-fi.

I thought the scene looked cool but at the same time I was kinda like wtf. Shouldn't it have just bounced off it, after causing some hull damage in the side?

I wasn't the one raising the issue of science in Star Wars, I was just supplying a possible answer. No one ever said anything about the ship surviving the ramming maneuver, they're all bitching about the corvette pushing it into the other ImpStar.

But to answer your question how did it survive. Shields? Improved Hull Plating? Any number of fucking space magic Star Wars has always been littered with?

It did bounce, then they hit into the corner.

Just play X3.

My biggest issue is the hammerhead doesn't get smashed into tiny bits upon slamming into another ship, in fact it bounces off, but an entire star destroyer is cleanly sliced in half even though one would assume that the space ship that is two or three THOUSAND years newer would be a little bit tougher. I bet the hammerhead survives with nothing more than superficial damage too.

It doesn't really make sense from any angle but it's Star Wars, none of it does so long as it looks cool.

It is the inconsistency, coupled with the fact that the entire purpose of the scenes existence is just so idiots in the theater can go WOW COOL and not feel like they wasted $14. It's a scene made for trailers and showing your friends so they see the movie too.

This, but it still doesn't wave away why the Rebels had a 4000 year old cruiser.

Shitty writers.

It doesn't look cool at fucking all man.

I wouldn't get too excited, knowing how good Fdev is at dropping the ball they could easily have some great ideas to fuck this up, like making the battles all take place in conflict zones with just one side replaced with thargoids and still fighting in empty space instead of around something important LIKE A FUCKING STATION so yeah wait and see. I don't think you'll need engineered ships to fight these things either since that would lock everyone who hadn't bought horizons and spent weeks perfecting their ship.

Wouldn't know, I haven't seen the movie and I've only seen about 20 minutes of a shitty camrip of TFA on release before I was so disgusted that I deleted it.

I agree; but the fags buying tickets see the rebels killing the ebil Empire and start clapping and howling, that's what the execs want.

Pic related, but it's a Hammerhead, specifically designed for ramming other ships with an attack prow, and equipped with engines that can move far larger ships, kind of like a tug boat.

The Corvette does not date back to KOTOR, it's based off the same design. It's a new ship.

At least you're explaining your position better then the cucks who usually complain

The edited together DVR clips from the Xbox that made First Contact

Yeah because not wanting people to grind has stopped them before.

and the other vid

ED will never be good.

No it wasn't.

Is that why the bridge is right on the very tip of the front too? Because it's supposed to ram things? I've never seen them ram anything until now. Also it is a capital ship and using those for ramming is full retard. This isn't the fucking Mediterranean.

Genius. That ship being new has no bearing on the rest of my post.

That doesn't explain why the 2nd SD gets carved up like butter rather than just collecting inertia and drifting along with the first one and some minor hull damage at the point of impact. It's space, the SD isn't fixed to anything. But like I said it's Star Wars; originally it was a space fantasy with knights and magic and even and evil wizard. It's all become so described and explained and unraveled over time that all the magic in the SW universe is gone and it's now just a very patchwork and faulty soft sci-fi full of extremities with no real heart.

I also missed where you said that you thought the Hammerhead survived. It didn't, it was a pure suicide mission.

That is mildly better, but still doesn't explain why the hammerhead doesn't slice through the first star destroyer if they are evidently made of butter, or maybe just the second was made of butter because reasons. We are putting more thought into this scene than the writers did.

BY THE EMPEROR IT IS CHAOS
PURGE THE HERETIC XENO

Getting my anaconda out and heading there hopefully to scan some wakes and teach them some democracy.

Seems like a busy day, from the subreddit a player group is getting ass blasted and another is using the BGS to actually create some "emergent" content.

—–
Hello,

I am a member of the group of operatives responsible for the interesting, ongoing events in Brestla. We'd like to step out of the shadows, very briefly, to make a simple statement:

The assertion, by TIIQ's leaders, that the BGS chaos in Brestla is the result of "one player's exploits" from "20-30 minutes" of gameplay is patently, overwhelmingly false. Instead, it is the result of over a month's worth of coordinated action by an extensive group of dedicated players, representing multiple allegiances.

We suspect the current narrative of "one person exploiting" being pushed by TIIQ is simply an attempt to avoid embarrassment. The simple truth is, they were caught with their pants down. As we continued to degrade TIIQ influence in multiple systems over the past few weeks we were constantly surprised by how oblivious they seemed and how muted their reaction was. Now that things have come to head, they obviously will not garner much sympathy by saying, "We weren't paying attention." Hence the "Save us from an exploit attack" narrative.

Rest assured, the ongoing chaos is the result of our long-term, carefully-planned, months-long work. We invite you to profit from our labors by going to Brestla, stacking BSVN massacre missions, and fighting in CZs.

Our primary motives for this BGS sabotage remain mostly in the shadows with us. We will reveal this much: we were curious what kind of response TIIQ would display to our actions. We were interested in conducting a BGS battle with them, and saving the results for research. Instead, they did "streamable" events at the very same time we were tanking influence in their home systems, and now that the shit has hit the fan, their reaction can be summarized as

1) complaining to FD to get the developers to fix the situation for them

2) trying to gain unwarranted sympathy by falsely claiming to be victims of exploits

We believe this reaction speaks much louder than any of our BGS sabotage.

P.S. We have no idea why the TIIQ faction is not giving out missions; we suspect it may be a side-effect of our Wetworks Wing's efforts to sow discord and chaos in Brestla. Note that famine, outbreak, lockdown, and civil unrest are currently pending: again, no exploits. Just simple knowledge about BGS and coordinated group action. Either way, it works for us.

P.P.S. We too, noted that there were multiple influence ticks yesterday. We, of course, didn't cause that, but it fits within TIIQ's false "we're being exploited" narrative. The double tick appears to have been bubble-wide.

P.P.P.S. Our group loves to think about our actions from both an in-game perspective and an outside "meta-game" perspective. In this second view, we consider our operation to be a smashing success. We've generated an interesting scenario, and have gotten people to participate, choose sides, and talk about it. We've made our own "CG", so to speak, using in-game mechanics. We invite TIIQ's leadership to stop looking for excuses and simply to play and enjoy the game.

Looks like it's all happened so far in Maia, good luck o7

...

Watching a stream, someone in chat says another commander has been interdicted and attempted to fire on the Thargoid and did fuck all damage. The whole thing is probably scripted but.

...

That's actually pretty awesome
No surprise about reddits reaction though, top kek.

I just want to know if the wake has been scanned yet!

...

you can scan the wake but you can't follow it

The subreddit isn't backing behind either and just watching. Honestly the E:D subreddit is pretty good when it comes to this shit they want stuff like this to happen. They did support instant transfer while the forums didn't

I would wait till the next update but I'm sure ship launched fighters and other neat but not necessary features are blocked by the horizons paywall. I'll just wait for the next update or maybe until the upcoming thargoid war I hope.

Unless its for the intent of boarding another ship, thats fucking dumb.

this shit would be more interesting if this all didn't boil down to two groups sitting in solo doing missions and or shooting npcs with no ability for the other side to even attempt to stop them. Now if these two groups are out in open doing this shit that'd be something.

It's not designed for ramming ships. That user is speaking out his ass.

It would make sense for the devs to wait for the PS4 release but I have a feeling something big is gonna happen this update.

This shit is all happening in open user. The major BGS player groups pride themselves in doing stuff in open and shit on groups that don't. Now are these people getting instanced with each other and fighting? Not sure.

yes
no
It's also 4000 years old :^)

Is this the new "where are the bothans" meme?

Then by all means props to them. The best part about elite involves shooting other folks. Next to mining of course.

Here's the one thing that is stopping me from playing ED again. Have they, or said they will, fix mission payouts yet?

Looks like the 8th Imperial Pilot's Syndicate is in civil war. Fuck, I was waiting until the next update so I can easily engineer my FDL so I can do some grinding in Wheemez but I guess I'll have to get on that some time tonight. First I gotta see that thargoid ship first hand.

If you mean delivery missions? nope, they're still fucked and pay shit, the only hot thing right now is massacre or skimmer runs in some backwater systems, not too sure where exactly but I haven't bothered ever since they nerfed the aditi smuggling missions. Passenger missions pay well but they are needy annoying fucks that can possibly just make you waste your time so I'm not bothering with them until fdev adds an option to eject passengers.

atm no missions are supposed to get you some starting cash and affect the bgs. If you want to make real money do cgs and the flavor of the month mad dosh schemes, I think it's stacking massacre and skimmer massacre missions this month.

If you think being able to rack up billions in a few hours of gameplay shooting skimmers is broken, then no. If however mission stacking high payout missions is something you wanted then yes. Honestly missions should never have been a core money maker at least not to the degree that shithauling did.

Never take anything but economy passengers.

Well the Passenger missions where they had you deliver economy passengers between two points paid a fuck ton after the launch of the dlc. Something like…50m an hour. And then they nerfed it into the ground.

This makes me sad. The only CGs that have been worth it were the ones where they payed us way over 10m for the highest tiers

...

So from what I've seen it looks like they're still using old Witchspace. Their jump is much different then a Capital ship's though.

so
can we fuck it?

That's totally an alien vajayjay on the back bro. Get to it.

the ship is organic

I prefer it that way, tho clang is good too

Fuck me, I'm sitting here trying to decide if I want to get the Season Pass.
I almost did before, but I regretted it instantly and got it refunded through steam. This time I have no steam money and only Amazon. There's no refund to save me now.

Is there a better space game than this?

...

All I see is tits.

BEEG AYYLMAO TEETTEES

well that was a waste of time.

Went all the way to the alien ruins to grab some UAs or an Relics only to get there and noticing I did not have my srv on me. Well shit.

If you're in a small ship you can scoop stuff of the ground. Also people pulled over have said you don't need a UA in your hold or anything, many have been interdicted without. It's probably just a random chance just like everything in this game.

Why aren't any of you niggs playing AFF? I need compitant pilots so I can dick around fixing the ships.

I do play AFF on weekends, when the other 12 people that still play are on. But I am shit at space battles in that game.

...

Time to culturally enrich the ayyliums

is endless space 2 good yet

is mandate real yet

...

Yeah, I'm getting nothing. jumping around the place of the first contact and nothing, only have meta alloys in my cargo. Only thing worth of interest I found was a Fed Capital Ship parked near the star in Merope.

nope

First contact has been made with Thargoids in Elite: Dangerous.

It was obviously scripted and staged with streamers and redditors.

Posted like half a dozen times already fag.

Just got a UA and gonna make an economic run to maia, if what you say is true I will fucking drop the game for good. The last fucking thing I can't stand is catering to streamers.

I've seen plenty of threads/posts shitting on Elite: Dangerous but I always had my eye on it as being potentially good.

This sounds interesting, should I be getting into this game now?

Well just got interidicted in 4 jumps after I got my UA from a signal source in HIP 14479, fucking shadowplay borked and couldn't record it but I did get some high def screens. Gonna convert some to jpg for now since I can'y find a good place to upload 4k 300+ mb screenshots.

No, it's a trainwreck wannabe mmo with none of the mechanic and extremely shitty netcode.

Only if you want a space trucker simulator

If you go into it expecting Freespace you'll be disappointed. If you go into it expecting "Euro Truck Sim, but in space" you'll probably have fun. The biggest fucking issue I have is that there's cosmetic stuff you have to pay real cash for.

I don't want an MMO, not in the traditional sense anyway. This is coming from a former EVE player.

I'd go into it expecting almost nothing. I see some space ships and laser beams and it catches my eye a bit.

If I get to shoot a few things along the way I'd say that sounds pretty comfy.

If you buy it get your refund ready, everibody regrets it at some point.

Depends. Usually you'll want to really focus on one thing or another. Just like in real life, every pound of stuff you're carrying that's not cargo is losing you money.

Reminds me of when I played Tibia many years ago. I calculated the gold-per-ounce of loot that would drop from the enemies I would fight and prioritized only the most valuable ones. Viking helmets. Viking helmets everywhere.

It's not AS strict, but, like, carrying more cargo means taking bigger/more jobs at once, and that means more money. So you've got to decide if you want more cargo space or you want that shiny new gun.

You can see it drop out of witchspace in this one.

Just start with base Elite:D when it's on sale and then get horizons if you think it's worth it.

It's like anons can't scroll up or something

This kinda shit is so utterly ruined by the internet nowadays. The very moment its discovered the whole world knows. Mystery in vidya is dead.

I disagree. Again, pulling from my Tibia experience, one of the most awesome events that ever happened in that game was when a Demon Boss written about in the lore and seen only once on a test server randomly spawned on my home server of Pacera for the first time. A massive battle took place to kill it and loot the body and all the fan sites were immediately buzzing with news of the event and what ultra-rare/one of a kind loot it dropped, and who killed it, and who died trying to kill it.

The game has an ingame news system, if there was no internet a report would have been made there. This is also supposed to be a timed event so once this whole plot is done it's done. That shit makes sense in a singleplayer game and in that case get off the internet and stop whining.

That's a one off event that people talked about on the internet after it happened not something that each individual player should get spooked by on their own instead of seeing a shitty stream of it before they log into the game just to check it out though.

An in-universe news report of mysterious happenings and clues of where to check it out would have been awesome though. Not being spoonfed.

It really depends on your taste. It's not arcade action type game, it's a sim. Kinda like Arma but in space, only there's no operating involved, there is if you can find people to do shit with. You can be a bounty hunter but it's more fun hunting players than it is NPC's, if you decided being a trucker then be ready to defend yourself or run away, dropping some cargo always works. Explorers just need to have time and lots of patience, and time as well. Pirating, that's where the fun is at, just look for the nearest hotspot in whatever systems players are trying to make money at and especially at Community Goals and watch the butthurt flow. But you do have to have some serious time invested to do pirating since you will need to pony up for the game + expansion to do engineer upgrades to even try to do PVP. But like I said it really depends on what you're looking for some people find it boring since they don't know that this game is catered to the people who played the original games nearly 20 years ago so no "We want a new audience" type shit. It's both a good and a bad thing but I don't care I enjoy the game.

It's not a traditional MMO though. The issue is that it requires to be always online and from seeing Planet Coaster come out with Denuvo I can see the brits don't like pirates.

Also, I got some screens of my interdiction but my retard ass took 15k screenshots and can' find a good way to convert to lower resolutions without it looking like pixelshit. about to head back out too HIP 14479 and pick up another UA since I dropped mine before it fucked over my modules. Haven't unlocked palin yet. Also got nothing but data from scanning the wake signal and didn't have time to cargo scan it. Gonna see if I can record it this time.

Also, gonna try to take lower res screenshots instead. But yeah, after a few hours trying getting a UA seems to be the best bet, meta alloys were not what they wanted.

Euro Truck at least has some variety in its routes. ED is always the same at every level of play.

Who gives a shit about the events? It's all to clear Braben has no idea where to take his game so this is just stalling.

I don't know if I follow you.

Orshabaal was not a one time event, he later spawned on plenty of other servers, and so did his other Demon Lord pals later down the road.

The event itself is shit I don't care about especially if is right and its just a timed event that means likely little to no new content a new type of ship to shoot doesn't count as new content I just felt like sperging out about mystery in vidya being dead.

Did he spawn on your server once or did he keep coming back? Did people writing articles on the internet happen during the event or after? I'm not sure it's an equivalent example. What I'm getting at here is as soon as any little secret in any video game is discovered its plastered all over the internet with HD screenshots or video, where as back in the day news didn't travel instantly. I also never played tibia myself.

Spawned again on the server several months later I believe, and it's been 10 years since then so I'm sure it's happened many dozens of times by now.

Articles during. Headlines about Orshabaal's first appearance, what server, where in the game world, and how the battle to kill him was still ongoing.

Well that actually has player involvement and isn't a cut scene so I don't think its equivalent. That is something that actually needs to be communicated because its content

I dug up an archive. I had forgotten that we failed to kill him on his first appearance, and he killed 500 people.

web.archive.org/web/20050827122744/http://www.tibianews.net/

God I fucking miss that game. Shame it went to shit.

just convert them to jpegs, the things are saved as lossless bitmaps and a jpeg export in gimp will lose no quality.

new thread when
xeno war now

New thread at Page 10.

I couldn't get a better quality to fit a mp4 to here, and like hell I'm uploading a 1.2gb 4k video to youtube or some shit.My upload is crap.

I'm still not too far into the show so no spoilers please. I do have a question though.
The Phezzanians and the earth cult are basically Jews, aren't they? Am I reading too much into it?

The earth cult aren't jews just your average barbarian at the gates of rome.

Wang has to nuke boston or kill his son at the end

Elite Dangerous is nothing but sorrow for the soul.

I'm only up to episode 30 so far and they're scheming as well as very materialistic. Seems pretty kikey to me.

What ship is that?

Imperial Courier

If you're getting kicked out of the game on jump it's not just you, Fdev or the Thargoids have broken something.

This post is nothing but sorrow for the soul.

Fuck it new thread:
