When he died in February (on the date the last Peanuts strip ran), the plan was changed to be a tribute of his life. 42 newspaper comics, on May 27th, 2000, forty-two daily comics included references to Peanuts in their stripsI’m gonna fun through them all

>>114931390I didn't see the text at the bottom. Snoopy sleeping on the moon didn't make sense to me. Truthfuly a comic about Christian Cavemen taking place BC knowing about Apollo 10 doesn't make sense to me either, but meh.

fellas, I miss him. I was just a kid when he died but it always held a place in my heart even then. the funny pages haven't been the same since.

All this is telling me is that American comic strips are for the most part painfully unfunny.

>>114933271Sorry for my bad english, I am a not english native speaker
>>114933148>>114933435Mutt isn’t a dog breed, it’s a term for a dog that isn’t a part of any breed, it’s just a mix of a bunch of different breeds and nobody knows its ancestry.People on /int/ call Americans mutts since they’re often a mix of a lot of ethnicities. It’s often used as an insult outside chans too, but more just In the general sense like how “dog” and “bitch” are used as insults
>>114931657It's Garfield. It's all about thriving on the barest minimum of effort.
>>114931657>>114934199I thought it was sweet
Remember the one year when all the newspaper comics switched characters with each other, except Schultz who just went on with Peanuts normally without caring about shallow April Fools jokes?
>>114930936NO, YOU STUPID CASUAL DOG!!!
>>114933148A mutt is a dog with no pedigree. Usually, a dog from the pound is a mutt, compared to getting a pure-bread dog from a breeder.
>>114931516>Truthfuly a comic about Christian Cavemen taking place BC knowing about Apollo 10 doesn't make sense to me either, but meh.B.C. actually had a storyline showing the cavemen lived in the modern day and BC meeting a character named A.D. who explained the entire world to him
>>114930912I know this isn't really related to the thread, but I'm never going to have another chance to mention this. As a kid, I always thought Cathy was supposed to be a vampire, and that's why she was always having trouble finding someone to date.
>>114931453And then she pulls it and turns out to be Lucyfer
>>114934645More info? I know that it's often been joked that Hart's comics, BC and Wizard of ID actually take place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland (hence the anachronisms and modern day references) but as far as I know it's always just been a joke.

>>114931472Well, this sure is off-brand for "Close to Home".
>>114931010Aaron, that was some low-hanging fruit and you know it.
>>114934577The Great Comic Strip SwitcherooOriginally Schulz was going to participate in it and switch with Mutts creator, but backed out last minute. It's sad they haven't done another one since.
