5G is dead because it was Dan Didio's idea and no one else wanted it. He's pissed off a lot of writers including Morrison, Tomasi, Johns, and Priest. Nobody wanted it, and frankly some people were pissed about how he tossed Rebirth in to the trash after Johns stepped down, not to mention giving favoritism to guys like Bendis and Snyder. There were a few reasons why Doomsday Clock was mishandled, one of them being Dan.
