Just pick an attribute you like then look for good archetype in said attribute. An example would be DARK attribute and the archetype is burning abyss or LIGHT attribute and the archetype is ABC.

Never copy ANY deck card for card unless you know the card is good. You'd have a better chance by looking up different videos of replays for the deck you want to play on youtube and just take the best cards from each video and make it work.

Shit, this is actually FUN, it's slow as fuck but really rewarding when I can finally pull out the Rainbow Dragon\Malefic and whup some ass with it.
The only tweak I could think of would be letting us use Crystal Tree even if we have some runoff, like we have 3 counters but 2 slots left being able to use the 2 counters instead of having to clear a slot and use all three.

Either way that's all I got to say on that for now, I'm running a purist deck so I'll need to tinker with it for real fun results,

I played Legacy of the Duelist after torrenting it of course and I can tell you to either just stick to Yu-Gi-Oh Pro or if you wanna play for fun with some fun deck idea then stick to Tag Force Special. I mean the AI in Legacy of the Duelist is even more retarded than your partner's AI in Tag Force (dunno how they made that even possible) and the packs they made are the stupidest packs, I couldn't even fucking think of a stupider way to handle packs.
In Tag Force they were either themed as to what you're going to get, like there's a pack centered around Ritual Monsters for example or they're copy/pasted from ACTUAL real life packs, like in Tag Force Special.
In Legacy of the Duelist, they're based on characters, so you're getting cards which that character either used or might have used and in the case of card archetypes which weren't used by any character in the anime, they give it to a character in the anime who might have used it, it's mostly arbitrary though.

I could make something even more retarded if I was paid enough by Konami to bring in the microtransactions on a phone game with exactly that shit.

Synchors were great. XYZ were good in many aspects. Only with Pendulums they truly started getting a little too crazy. Hopefully the new generation is another one that focuses mostly on the new type of monsters. And as hard as people were memeing it, the card games on motorcycles became the favourite series to many of the people that were bitching about how great DM was.

They do good but they brick hard which can be said for most synchro decks now a days. The chance at bricking is worth it for Triple Omega plays or you can play Dark synchro which does the same thing but a little better.

Maybe compared to a normal person, but he's got the most normal hair by far out of any of the protagonists. You can argue that Yusei's hair is a basic gel-up and dye job, but I've got nothing on Mr. Mystic Tomato (Yuya), Plastic Daggers (Yuma), or Yugi.

Compared to YgoPro/Percy AI? Nah, not by a long shot. The only problem with the AI is twofold:

1. It doesn't really go for blood unless you actively fuck yourself over or keep giving the AI opportunities. This is in comparison to (say) 2014 Planeswalkers.

2. It doesn't understand duel context, but that is something that can be very difficult to code in as it would basically have to actually think rather than act towards prepared responses. Depending on the deck you're playing with, this is either negligible or an auto-lose for the AI.

If you wanna play something that isn't Tier 0/.5/1, then I'd look at some solid Tier 2 and lower decks. Inzektors can still sack, and Insect Sanctuary combined with a Howling Cricket crashing into something pretty much means you get Dragonfly and Hornet right there for the popping. Ritual Beasts are still a thing with their "bore your opponent to death" turns. Darklords are a thing, and Nurse Reficule is now officially searchable via their archetype-Rota. Exodia is a little better with Allure at 3 (so Destiny Exodia is currently the best variant) and you can run derpy-ass Xyzs like pic related using a Battle Fader most likely on your board combined with either another one or with a Swift Scarecrow. Dragons.dek is still alive, though only barely and it's closer to BEWD.dek.

Maybe if you wanna take out a loan for those two Saint Minervas. God I miss Dragon Rulers. Degenerate as they were even at 1, they made Lightsworn so reliable as a backup plan in case those Eclipse Wyverns got to grave after the JDs.

My friend's Exodia deck worked in a way where, like burn, he interacted with his opponent as little as possible. No monsters aside from handtraps and things that get him closer to Exodia (Scarecrow, Fader, Shamoji, DARK monsters for Allure, D-HERO monsters for Destiny Draw, etc.), no traps of any kind outside of Waboku or Reckless Greed/Jar of Greed, and spells that basically just say "get closer to Exodia".

I'd give you his decklist, but that was months ago and I forget what it all was. (I'd also suggest padding your extra deck with useless cards so people don't immediately know you're playing Exodia.)

Necrovalley is a no go. It not only fucks over my general playstyle (get bros into the grave to use later and thin the deck as well as get off effects), but I also personally hate the card.

Don't get me wrong, I fully appreciate the support, especially from someone who actually know how to use them, but any other ideas that don't involve shitting on my own deck in the process? Things like Crow just don't sound versatile enough for most decks.

Ah. My apologies. Now, I don't know what exactly you're playing, so I can only give you general anti-Mermail advice, though from what your posts hint at… Zombies? Other than BA, I don't think there's another deck out there who's as sensitive to Graveyard fuckery as those two.

If you're able to Synchro, they can't get rid of cards like Yazi or Beelze with their Atlanteans; in the case of the former, they'd have to make something bigger (either Megalo to crash or Gaios to be fat and annoying), in the case of the latter they'd probably attempt to Big Eye him away. Abyss Dweller is pretty much mandatory against Mermails anyways if you can make R4s. A board of Abyss Dweller + Vanity's Emptiness makes them broil, given that the only normal summon who can even crash with Dweller is Turge (and not everyone runs him), god help them if you actually make Dweller with WATERs.

So I've been tweaking my new favorite deck off and on for a while and am wondering if I should swap out my psychic snails (pay 800 LP to get one monster to attack twice, snail loses its attack) for Power Boosters (pay 600 Lp for all psychic monsters to gain 500 attack for a turn)

And then completely lacking the last season that had easily the best ending in the series. Judai went from a idiot, to an edgelord, to a teenager that is properly fighting his inner problems and trying to find his place in the world. And then in the end, even though he grew up a lot as a person during the series, he left alone on a journey marking that the cycle of learning just continues on..
This bitter sweet adolescence story is probably the most serious YGO ever has been even compared with some of the things that followed in the next series, simple because of the realistic character progression that Juda went through the second half of the series.

It's definitely possible to use older cards, and sometimes newer duelists won't be prepared for older strategies; for instance, Blue-Eyes and Red-Eyes decks have a lot of support, and there are ways to try and win with Exodia; it's what keeps this game interesting. Also, fucking Monarchs don't even need an Extra Deck!
Use spells/traps that permanently prevent extra-deck summoning to really screw your opponents over.

The sexual tension is burning even in the dub. I have no doubt they'll eventually fuck once they can settle down considering you know from that scene he wants to bang her as well.

Rate my casual decklist. The goal of the deck is to summon 3 Flare-Metal as often as possible.

Can't help it. Everything else past the first season isn't worth watching and straight up shit in the dub as far as I'm concerned, but everything from the first decent filler packed weeks of Duel Academy all the way up to the Shadow Riders and then the climax as a friendly but serious duel between the protagonist and Cyber Dragons at least holds too much nostalgic dudebro charm and hilarious added in disrespect for me to hate at this point.

I can enjoy it despite its hamfisted guitar shredding faults.

your other options are kagetokage, which can brick with a low monster count
or some aliens, but most of them rely on A counters
or worms, but they don't really do much unless you're running the whole worm deck
or reptiliannes, which get me killed because naga stays in attack the whole time
also venom cobra is another target for damage = reptile due to it's low attack. otherwise it would have been reptilianne naga, but that usually just gets me killed a turn later

the actual venom deck is useless since all their shit can easily be run over. venom swamp has no protection of it's own. you can try running field barrier, but if your field gets bounced, you can't put any other field spell because of barrier
i tried running monarchs to get venom boa out, but it doesn't matter since it gets run over by any lv 4 beater with it's measly 1600 attack
the whole venom counter idea is kind of pointless in current year anyways, since anyone can easily get rid of their monsters before they die from the counters
literally the only good thing about the deck is vennominaga since she can only be killed by kaijus and the like, but with her crazy summoning condition you can't really use her consistently. A wild monster appears would have been good, but 1) it shuffles vennominaga no matter what 2) even if you killer her in battle to bring her back out, she won't resurrect since she wasn't properly summoned the first time

Konami's making some Ritual archetypes and trying to bring back old-ass mechanics, e.g. Spirits. Just do some research and you'll see the game's not so bad. Until Zoodiacs become a thing in the TCG.

If you hate yourself, you can play Evol. Their newest trap card's pretty dope as a 1-card Solda. But even they're not full-on Reptile.

Paleozoics are kinda weird to disrupt in terms of side cards. But as long as you can keep disrupting their chains so they don't actually summon anything, then you should be fine.

And even before that, they got some damn good cards to play around with before they inevitably got hit.

No, in between the utopia and the lightning. Since Prime (or One.) is a Rank 4 Utopia monster, you can overlay Lightning onto it, and since it overlays onto the utopia you're already using, it's as good as the Utopia Ray you're already using to get another material onto your Utopia the Lightning.

The deck plays on my opponent's turn. So Duality isn't risky and the deck bricks jist as hard as Monarchs. But said bricks can build a house if used right.

In my opinion, they're a great combo for a deck that focuses on Level 7s. Absolute tags in Meteorburst as soon as he goes down for the count along with being a better Utopia that can protect anything you care about until you get one more favor in the form of stopping any monster effects during battle.

Never used this card before. Testing it out in general and also gives my Dragon Buster Blades a purpose if a monster that can't be destroyed period is the way to go.

Giving that a try for a Rank 8 Dragon that I can have Buster Dragon jump into before Cradle finishes if there's a Level 8 I can use and use spare monsters to pop. Maybe Number 62 just for raw power to steamroll all the bigger threats nowadays with.

The point is that Ray and Prime can be used interchangably, so which one you use comes down to which monster you like best. Statwise, Prime has 10 more attack and a slightly more versatile nuke effect if you need to come back from 3000 life lost but can still xyz summon, but you'd be sacrificing the materials on your Lightning to ever use it, so idk.

Monster/Trap and Spell/Trap seems unlikely, as that would be too similar to Pendulum. Though Synchro and Xyz were similar is that they used levels.

As much as I was okay with Synchro and XYZs Pendulum became too much even for me.

Pendulum should be removed from main competitive. They're so easy to abuse summoning fuel, and hard to counter unless you want to add a bunch of cards purely to stop it.

Evolutions would be nice, like the Level Dragon line, and as a form of ritual/fusion, that would be another great reason to have the OG series come back.

The problems is Pendulum have synergy with other random stuff on a completely new level. I played irl with a guy's frog deck against his new magician deck a while ago. Fucking Apex Avian and Kirin in it. This is why I really like the idea of archetypes, it helps prevent stuff like that. If not some rules I really believe we should have more key cards like Kirin would have an effect "it can't be Pendulum summoned only with Majespecter scales" or something, that plus more "you can only Pendulum Summon X monsters" could somewhat fix Pendulums.

With them being able to sit tightly at the top of the extra deck, there is no counter as good as counters for the previous generations. And a good Pendulum deck can always easily make a scale. To be honest flood gates have become worse than ever. People automatically leave on stuff like Anti-Spell Fragrance and Barrier. But neither are per say Pendulum counters, they are counters of everything and especially the statues a lot of people use. Flood gates themselves have become a form of meme deck with popularity bigger than ever, but the funny thing is they lose easily to most good decks.

Because filling up your main deck with silver bullets to stop specific decks to meme all over you is totally good game design. As much as people hated the concept of archetypes, he's right in that limiting certain broken things to certain archetypes did work, and making monster mash decks with pendulums just isn't as fun anymore.

I think it's the nature of Cyber Dragon decks that makes Zane extremely retarded. I bet if you just copy/pasted some championship-winning decks that are a wee bit more complicated to play (so basically all of them) the AI would still find ways to completely screw itself even against decks which are shit-tier. I'll have to test it out to see if it's true, since I've found that the AI is usually the same for all partners, doesn't matter from which arc they are, if you gave Joey a deck which used Synchro, Xyz and Pendulum monsters for example the AI would still know how to play all of them.

Special, but all are fine really. You can play by yourself, but every Tag Force game forces you to play tag duels from time to time.

What the fuck? How? I could have sworn it was virtually flawless with how everything lines up. Ancients can get out a quick essentially free BEWD while thinning the deck if you don't have a Legend and even if you don't, you can still thin the deck by 2 cards by using Foolish Burial on one to also get a BEWD you can use for Trade-In by removing to get it back into the hand later, which doesn't take long to draw with the sheer thinning of this deck. Using either of the Burials helps set up surprisingly quick as soon as a Whelp shows up to really kick things into high gear with just enough backrow destruction that also discards for anything trying to throw a wrench. Even before Ancients I figured this couldn't ever steer wrong with even just enough of the 12 cards appearing in no time.

There has to be an even better way to patch up any deficiency of draw cards. Maybe I need an Alternative.

The problem with the Blue-Eyes engine is the amount of bricks it generates.

I opened it along with a Buster Blader and no method to move either of them. This occured several times throughoit testing since I went ahead an autistically grinded 10 games before taking it out.

I looked at Cradle and realized since the deck now plays the way Dark Magician plays, on the opponent's turn, I could just invest a lot on board set up for future plays rather than board set up for the present.

A thing I also co sidered was Card of Demise in the deck since all you really need is Memories in the grave and Cradle set to explode into an unbreakable boars since hand advantage is very irrelevant in this deck after you have the Fusion out with Buster Dragon.

In short. The deck can win, but is hindered to shit by bricks.

I tried the older Tag Force games for the first time to just get triggered with the lack of voice audio.

The Japanese versions are the only ones with audio, they were too lazy to hire voice actors for the international releases and didn't want to leave the Japanese voice acting in, hence why there's no voices.

I got that. I also tried to search if there is a version with the Japanese audio in the EU version or EU translation in the Japanese version, but it seems like no one that tried succeed in doing it.

Unfortunately, nobody seems to have bothered to do it for any game which had an English release. There might be a way by tinkering with UMDGEN, but I haven't looked into it.

In the 4 season of GX there was a thing about them having to know their kanji or won't be able to read the card's effects. This might be the way to really do it.

It seems like the key element is cardinfo_jpn.ehp, but exactly on trying to change it with something else it crashes the game on trying to star a duel. Fun enough I was able to change things like the names of the cards or "PRESS START BUTTON", but not the text itself.
