As much as I'd love the idea of normalfags giving SJWs the scorn they deserve, I simply don't think this is what happened here. Remember, when Watch dogs was first announced, it was the poster boy on how to announce a game right, by showing pure gameplay. The final product proved extremely underwhelming and shallow, two qualities you'll notice as being shared by nu male's sky. Normalfags don't hate AAA games the way Holla Forums does; as long as there is shit to do at least remotely close to what they expected, they're happy. Watch dogs broke every promise in a very blatant way, not at a nitpicky level.
Knowing this, WD2 came out of left field, it was a sequel nobody wanted. Sure, a black protagonist wasn't going to help matters in current year+1, not to mention the extremely cringeworthy theme, but the heart of the matter is that watch dogs was more a liability than an asset as a brand name.

Titanfall 2 failed for one major reason. I liked that game, but they deliberately sabotaged it by releasing it in close proximity to both Battlefield and CoD with 0 marketing.

It's supposedly an improvement over the first one but still not by much. Plus the first game is widely accepted as a disappointment, not an AC1 kind of way where it at least had its own identiy, but in a low budget GTA-clone way.

Just checked and I'm mistaken about sales/players. But My Summer Car did have more positive reviews than WD 2.

Whilst I agree that the game's looking like it's been casualised a fair bit since the alpha I'm still quite optimistic. They seem to understand the difficulty is one of the selling points and in the feedback they did mention making bosses more aggressive/giving them new moves (as opposed to just throwing in mobs) for Twilight stages, so I'm hoping they've just toned down the campaign for the casuals but kept Twilight as fun as it was.

But maybe that's too optimistic.

Watch_Dogs 2 is actually a massive improvement gameplay-wise over the first in many ways, and it's PC port doesn't suck balls either. It also does a lot of things to spice up the stale Ubisoft open world formula and interactivity so it doesn't feel like a total GTA clone anymore. However, it's still popamole at heart and takes place in San Francisco where everyone is some cringy hacker stereotype, though that might be a good thing depending on how you intend to play the game. It's not like anyone looked past the webms of this game, but to be quite frank this game isn't really worth anyone's time unless you have a hacker itch to scratch.

Instead the endings and scenarios got cut, but we still had the choice system partially in place. "Differ to Ignis" etc, it was to show if the player trusted his friends or not, which is the whole point of the song, stand by me!

And so when HR says that they need to promote gay shit in order to ensure better sales, the company owner simply goes with it thinking that HR has his best interests in mind. This often results in an endless downward spiral as the product gets shittier and shittier to accomodate for the changes made by HR. The SJW-ification doesn't end at the "we totally love gay people, guise" bullshit EA did, it is very common to see HR divisions slowly replace reliable workers one-by-one with either other SJWs or whatever their multi-cult fantasy decides. All those stories about people being fired over extremely basic shit like for expressing support to the wrong presidential candidate or for looking at one of the female employees wrong exist for a reason, they provide the excuse for HR to throw them out and search for another candidate. And so they replace a lot of the reliable workers with people that aren't even qualified for the position. They don't hire these people to cover shit up, HR does that very well on its own due to the fact that they themselves caused most of the issues in question.

The Problem with WD2 is that the gameplay is pretty solid. It's just everything else : writing, theme, motif, location, character design, dialogue, music, pacing. All of this stuff UBISOFT manages to fuck up, but not by accident.

Valve could put the same into cs:go but they didn't want to because then people wouldn't buy their shitty skins. They did the same in dota by the way, people could freely install mods, but Valve patched it out.
