Aqua was sweet and demure, and while she does get a bit more of the spotlight with BBS's secret episode and .2, which is basically a tech demo, she never felt as forced as Lightning.

Lulu was quiet, but she stood out as being ara as fuck in personality.

Payne was more of a biting sarcastic "roll your eyes and check your phone" goth rather then Lulu's quieter mildly depressed yet warm classic goth, the former fits in better in an action girl type group, while the latter is better for a more romantic story.

I'll have to disagree with that stance since it'd be very easy to write her as the "serious mature" who can still have a bit of fun.
The whole reason she would be a stick in the mud during 10 was because she took the pilgrimage and the fate of the world very seriously.

Gotta agree with that one, there were flashes of Lulu being amused or having fun with parts of the pilgrimage, ie the relationship boost and response if you say Lulu's more your type than Yuna around Guadosalam. With a permanent Calm and a general romp around Spira she could probably cut loose a bit.

Speaking of FFX I also want Jecht in Kingdom Hearts as a superboss and for vague allusions of child abuse with the young/teenage Tidus back from the first game.

Yuna and Lulu basically had the same barrier to having fun, which was taking the pilgrimage seriously, but what was different for Yuna that shook her out of that was Tidus, who encouraged her to loosen up.

Lulu's "encouragement" was Wakka, who while fun is a serious Yevon dude who also took the pilgramage seriously to the point of ditching his chances in the blitzball leauge for good after Luca, and he only loosens up at the very end, while Tidus was a rebel from the start.

Is it just me, or does Haley Joel Osment's voice sound kind of off at the end of the new trailer? It kind of reminds me of how Re:CoM was made after KH2, so in the game it sounds like Sora's balls dropped immidiately after the ending of the first game.

The implications behind the Farplane being so unstable that the afterlife is starting to very heavily bleed into the real world are pretty bad when Fayth in general power the world of FFX. Fortunately all that stupidity stopped with Yuna's pilgrimage announcement, I recall the writer was intentionally leaving it open-ended there to leave you wondering how it'd go but really it just accomplished that they stopped before the dead horse was well and truly beaten.

I was pretty fond of how 3D changed up BBS's formula besides the whole Drop mechanic, though BBS in general is pretty damn good.

Kingdom Hearts is a fun series the whole way around and one of the better action-RPGs you'll find. First game is silly Disney fun, after that it starts getting a bit dumber and more complicated while focusing on itself/Final Fantasy rather than Disney. Recently they've started to balance it out again, Dream Drop Distance gave me a lot of the same vibes the first one did, plus the main character shoots down the whole game's premise in the first ten minutes which was a great laugh.

Just make sure to stick to the Final Mixes if possible. If you're emulating, there's translation patches available for the PS2 games, or if you buy your stuff the HD compilations are available on I think it was PS3/PS4. Dream Drop Distance is 3DS-only and can't be emulated worth a damn just yet because of Citra's state.

It is has always been prolific though, Nana Mizuki have sung Vidya theme songs (Including Love Deterrence since i know everyone loves Metal Gear here) for like over a decade and half now and she is basically THE Idol despite her age.

The combat itself is pretty fun, and can be a thrilling challenge on higher difficulties. One of the most satisfying victories I ever had in a game was beating KH2FM's "secret boss" on critical mode.

The story has some genuine moments, but will also be very campy at some times. A lot of the time this line is blurred. It's a game that you can laugh at (not with) and relate to at the same time.
I find this bitter-sweet contradiction sublime.

3D is pretty goddamned good, only time I've ever noticed it suffer the 3DS's usual framerate problems with 3D games was when there were 8-10 big enemies all on-screen at once and even then the framerate chug was quite minor. You'll know what to do from the word "go" since 3D is basically BBS2 (especially since the story concerns a Mark of Mastery exam), Riku plays like a mix of Terra and Aqua with heavier leaning towards Terra and Sora somewhere between Terra and Ventus with heavier leaning on Ventus.

Give the others a go, despite sharing the same general formula all the games are a pretty unique ride for their own reasons.

Pretty good, the Flowmotion (Basically Magic Parkour) stuff is overpowered as hell but is pretty fun, Think BBS with Magic Parkour and Monster Raising and you basically have it.

The main issue people playing had is the character switching since you are basically on a timer and switch character every 5 minutes or so, but there are items to let you refil the meter and basically let you stay as character indefinitly if you choose to, so it is mainly a non-issue.

It is KH so i don't need to talk about PLOT, right?

The worlds are basically stuck in a Groundhog Day style loop of their final day before they were "destroyed" in KH1, and Sora and Riku are going in to kick-start time again. This actually looks pretty good. Better than what I was expecting it to be for a yet another smash games together game. Well, at least the Aqua shit does, I don't know if I care enough about DDD to play it on console when the 3DS version is functional and works well enough. That said, I'm not buying a PS4 just for this. I'll pick it up in a few years when PS4s are going for clearance prices and the game is 20bux or less. The stuff from that Chi spin-off game looks pretty dank too, but it's all going to be cutscenes and disappoint me, because there's always one game that they refuse to modernize and just dump the cutscenes from instead. I'm still mad 358/2 and Re:Coded didn't get a Re:COM treatment.

The thing about the DS games not getting actual ports was that their models were super low-quality compared to the PS2 games. I think it would've been a pain in the ass to swap out every model and all the level geometry for higher quality ones just to make it look presentable on the level of the PS2 games. It's not impossible to do something like that, just look at Yakuza: Kiwami, but the HD remixes were clearly cheap-and-easy projects, so bothering to port the DS games was more effort than they were willing to take.

I think it would've been really easy honestly, since a majority of the models are already in the two collections. It probably has something to do with Nintendo since the two cancelled games were for the DS and by the time they were doing 3d they probably worked remakes into the deal.

The lion's share of assets in 358/2 were shared with KH1 and 2, the real linchpin would've been getting the game up and going again, but honestly, while 358/2 had a lot of good ideas, it would've benefited from using BBS's engine and just reimplementing the good shit in that, rather than trying to reconstruct the original (shitty) gameplay. Re:Coded would've been a double nigger to do on the gameplay front, because it had different gameplay for each level so I've heard, anyway, but it was a really unique game I would've like to have seen remastered.

The lead up to that with goofy "dying" is probably one of the cheesiest, cringiest, and generally most awful segments in this entire series.

Don't take the story seriously and you'll probably enjoy it, the gameplay is simple yet fun and the characters are overall likeable.

Stick with the console games, the handheld games generally are subpar by comparison and are only for once you're a fan of the series and get invested in the plot and want to experience the labyrinth first hand.

This has been the problem with Final Fantasy since 10. What did Tidus add to FF10? Why was he there? Why was it important he was there instead of it just being a story about Yuna and her struggles as a summoner? Same with 12, Vaan and Penelo could be removed from the script entirely and it'd make no difference.

Funny thing about that- the thing about Sora's Japanese voice actor is that back when KH1 happened, Haley's voice was much younger-sounding, but by the time he came back for KH2, it just so happened to match the JP's perfectly, albeit maybe the acting wasn't necessarily something you'd call great. That scene in particular when Merlin and the various final fantasy characters were in the same room, is kind of when it all dawned on me.

Tidus being removed from FFX would necessitate a lot of changes, really; his whole point is that he's an outsider looking in on Spira, a world so wrapped up in religious dogma and false hope that Yevon is seen as the one and only answer. If he hadn't been in the party then chances are Yuna would've gone ahead with the final summoning with Wakka or Lulu as a fayth and gone down as High Summoner Yuna. Vaan and Penelo could certainly be removed from FF12 no problem though especially when they wormed their way into FFTA2 and didn't change anything their despite their involvement either, Penelo was pretty much a hume Green Mage and Vaan was just somewhere between Thief and Warrior/Fighter

Timeless River had no plot, but had a neat aesthetic, Disney Castle wasn't a real world, Atlantica is pure fucking trash that contradicts the last game's canon, Pirates of the Caribean is second worst with it's retarded style and shitty pirate enemies, Halloween Town Part 1 wasn't particularly interesting story wise, and mostly just rehashed the first game except on a smaller scale, which sucks because Halloween Town is easily one of the best worlds in KH1 as for as plot goes, Space Paranoids was okay but then the novelty wears off, it shouldn't have been more than a one visit world like Timeless River but they dragged that shit out and for what? A shitty Light Cycle game that no one can seem to do fucking right, and finally there is the Pride Lands, which is just a bunch of huge areas that are boring to look at, with a shitty and annoying plot and it takes away all your abilities to the point it's easily worse than Atlantica in the first game. Winnie the Pooh is consistently quality.

I have done so. All you do in critical is press []. It's not very deep once you realize your main combo is mash O until you're about to do a ground finisher, then you press [] to launch, then you mash O in the air, press square to do the special air move then you do a finisher. And that's all you do. The same combo over and over again. Or you guard and guard attack.

Only 5% of KH players actually press [] outside of movement because the ability system covered your ass. With abilities on, you get a cleave, guard breaks, teleports, launches, so on so forth, just for pressing attack.

Best I can tell you is if you wanna get into it, the 1.5+2.5 HD collection on PS4 or the two PS3 collections are the best place to start. Play 1.5 first and then 2.5 play on the hardest difficulty, and aim for 100%.

Some anons consider BBS as the ultimate KH, and I understand why even when I don't agree. It have the stiffness and movement of KH1, that they love, with some elements of KH2 without the press triangle to win.

Rushing a game 3 times doesn't make it any more fun to play. It always forces me to grind or its nearly impossible to do some parts of the game. Not like as if it was fun to slog through in the first place. The only worthwhile part of the game i got to was terras final battle, it wasnt even that good. The only criticism I accept is that thanks to the melding mechanism, it's grindy as fuck and it takes a lot of time to unlock everything. For a maximum fun experience I'd say you can ignore most command melding, just meld the ones you mastered into whatever you have and keep going. Taking the game easy without grinding takes about 1 day to finish each route, it's no problem at all, user, don't be a bitch, I'm telling you, I started to play again on the PS3, but I admit filling the reports is less fun than the others.

Like said, Coded and RE:Coded are pretty trash tier, but the HD Remix collection turns it into a cutscene anyway.

The one problem I have with the HD rereleases is 1.5 turning 358/2 days into a cutscene, because that game was genuinely really really good and the cutscenes don't carry the same dramatic weight as if you were experiencing it while playing it but in the end it's minor since the side game isn't really important in the grand scheme.

Totally a missed opportunity. When they were announced I was counting on 358/2 and BBS to have multiplayer online. Instead we got a Cutscene movie and a completely cut multiplayer.

I honestly don't care about the multiplayer in BBS, it was literally just the Colosseum and it didn't really gain anything from a multiplayer aspect.

Meanwhile 358/2 days had a fucking nice multiplayer, with actual tangible competition, a really fucking wide selection of characters, but the whole game got neutered.
