The problem with the steam achievements for Darksiders 1 was you could only get achievements the first time you launch the game each time you launch steam if you quit the game you have to exit steam and relaunch it.

The Warmastered edition fixed that problem.

Xmedia Recode is crap. It always uses the best quality setting whatever you do, so encoding takes forever. that setting is called "Placebo", because the benefits between it and the second best is so small, while the difference in encode speed is huge.

Learn to use FFMpeg, or maybe even Webm For Retards, as they are both faster when used properly, and the difference in quality is miniscule.

These three clips are each encoded with the same parameters using each of the three main apps, see if you can tell the difference without pausing and checking the macroblocks in the same frames.

Should probably add that the FFmpeg and W4R ones took roughly 20-30 seconds each to encode, while the Xmedia one took 12 minutes, for a 5 second clip.

What are your arguments? Under the "advanced" tab take what is in the "arguments" box and copypaste it here so I can see what you're trying to do. These are the settings where W4R tells FFmpeg how to encode the file.

Off the top of my head you could probably add the "-speed 1" argument for a bit of extra quality at the expense of a slight bit of encoding speed. If you're feeling a bit masochistic you can use "-speed 0" and "-quality Best", then the encode will slow down to Xmedia levels and take several hours for that 3 minute clip.
