Uh no. Just the aspect of sailing and trading was enough to let me have interest in the game. I don't play MMOs anyway, and the single aspect of Archage was the reason why I even gave a slight damn about it.

Honestly, it was one of the best games I've ever played. If they can bring back the magic, I'll play again.

I loved AA and honestly didn't mind the P2W aspects that came out after the "alpha" was over with because you needed to whale so fucking hard just to get anywhere that I assumed hardly anyone did actually pay to win. What really killed the game is the dead as fuck population after a year or so, everybody eventually moved on to Black Desert which also killed itself with horrible business practices in less than 6 months and now I have no idea where everybody went next. I love these Korean grindfests a lot of the time and AA had some certain magic about it, but it seems like they do this shit on purpose now. Bring game to the west, practice fair business for maybe 3 months or so, see the playerbase start to dwindle as the hype wears off and just start gouging everyone left as much as you can before the ship finally sinks for good.

Paid players get a pool of 5000 LP, but for the sake of the experiment we'll say they spent the same ammount of LP as the free player.
Paid players get 10 points per 5 minutes both online and offline so in order to regain that lost LP you'll basicly need to turn off the game and fap for about 16 hours and 30 minutes.

Free players get 5 points per 5 minutes as long as you're online at all times. Meaning that if you want to get some actual money you'll be banging at the scarecrows an average of 33 hours a day. Yes, Archeage requires you to own some sort of time warping device to be as good as pay players. It is not pay not to grind, it's pay to fucking win.

Good gold TRs range from 64 to 100 gp per run, 100 on a really good day and implying you have a bunch of levels on trading.

1 apex is at the moment 800 GP and you can't even buy it if you don't have access to the AH (IE have paid something already). That said you need 2 of them, so you're going to be banging on the scarecrows for an entire week (considering materials do cost money as well) before you can even begin to make progress.

This game was absolutely butchered on release and I'll never forget these shitty devs for their dirty trick. If you even consider playing this garbage after what they did you are a massive fucking idiot.

Wait what the fuck? When did this become a thing? I remember something about the auction house being pretty gay until I got APEX, but I also very clearly remember getting 2 APEX within the first week from in-game currency alone.

Again, this is the gold inflation and rampant hacking that is the problem, not the labor system. The game was completely fine before it got flooded by botters who would literally teleport back and forth to do trade runs instantly while invisible.

Oh yeah, that and the fact that all the end-game contest was fucked and totally reliant on RNG. That was pretty gay. Especially the bit where you could grind for that equipment set in the eastern continent and it was objectively better than anyone would ever be able to craft even if they had max crafting stats. That was also pretty gay.

But yeah, I played for like a month or two and I had every single stat item from the cash shop without ever paying a dime. I even had a second character chugging labor pots all day every day alongside my main.

So how can LP be over come by new players looking to enter the game??

It can't with prices like that. If you didn't play the game in the first month after release, you missed your opportunity to play the game while it was still enjoyable.

After you reach level 50, the actual game begins. It's very bizarre once you start exploring other continents. You can also go deep sea fishing, battle pirates, find dungeons on the bottom of the ocean, build a house, write a song, battle a kraken, try to escape prison, all sorts of shit.

Probably Black Desert because Daum picked it up and forced them to ship it without any of the defining features Pearl Abyss wanted to include with a gouged as fuck cash shop on launch. Plus the enchant system is physically painful. They're trying to add a naval combat system and underwater exploration, but if you're a new player, I don't think anyone would recommend it.

Can you believe I was actually hyped for this game? I just wanted to be a giant riding my donkey town to town and roleplay comerce, but without player to player trade all of that is useless.

what you don't know is that not only can old, super decked out wealthy whales on the old servers not only just move to the new server and drop 1000$ on the cash shop to instantly be far better than you, they also have the option of liquidating their gold on the older servers into cash shop points which they can use to buy even more shit on the new servers

they'll also have access to all of their daily log in points for even more unbalanced shit as well straight out of the gate

Channeling is when you press a button and you have to sit there without moving and wait for it to charge before it casts. No channeling means you press a button and it happens right away.

Trion fucked the game from the get-go. When the game first launched, it came with "Hasla", an area that, in the korean version, was introduced later as a way for new players to catch up to the old players who had crafted gear. So instead of racing to farm to get gear, everyone just farmed Hasla, and it was cancer. Guild leaders who no-life'd it and ran heavy taxes on mass-recruit scrubs sucked their money away to make themselves the hard-carries of their shit guilds.

The vertical progression was way too Korean. Your shit had a chance to break at upgrading to higher levels, and it was expensive as fuck to upgrade it (months of treating this as a 2nd job farming), so obviously all the p2w'ers could sell cash shop shit -> get good gear faster. Spamming loyalty potions wasn't even as bad.

You want to PvP, but all the time your entire guild is going to be like "well, we're undergeared so I guess we need to farm more"

We quit when Archeum saplings became a thing. The launch was fun, though. We raced and got decent land all together, and ships soon too. My guild also tried Socialism, and that was an economic failure. I should have taken all the damn thunderstruck trees I got.
