Pokemon Gen 7: EDUCATE YOSELF NIGGA

Pokemon Sun and Moon has been a very iffy prospect from the get-go. This is an informational thread if you're too lazy or retarded to homebrew. If you're still not well-informed about sun and moon, lurk this thread and learn. If you are, please share if it's good or bad and why.

Please also refrain from posting any spoilers in this thread.
And please, please buy secondhand when possible.

It's the best pokemon game yet, you just have to put your nostalgia aside for a second. It has surpassed being just a pokemon game into being a worthwhile game for anyone, new to the series or old fan.

I am both shocked and appalled.
I remember this, but can't remember who first said it.

UPDATE

APPARENTLY NOBODY GIVES A SHIT SO FUCK EM

It gets better, right?

It's the best 3D Pokemon yet. X/Y and OR/AS squandered the move to 3D, but Sun/Moon has allowed the engine to fully mature and now they're FINALLY using it correctly. That said the rival sucks cocks, Z-Moves are only slightly less stupid than Mega Evolution, the clothing choices are fucking low-energy, and the starters are all disappointing.

Platinum and HG/SS remain the best 2D games and the best overall Pokemon games.

They keep improving the waifus though, this shit is 10/10.

This game has me pretty torn so far. On one hand, I'm glad they threw HM slaves out the window and a couple of other small touches they changed to make the whole thing feel more convenient without impeding you, but on the other, they seem to have taken that as an opportunity to instead impede you with the plot which seems to be only SLIGHTLY different and the amount of times they box you in instead of letting you explore is appalling I know they've done this before, but it feels especially blatant this time around. And I thought we hit tutorial rock bottom with X and Y but holy fucking shit, this game makes that one seem fucking cold in comparison sometimes. It feels everything is handed to you on a silver platter with my only experience close to a challenge so far being the guy on route 3 that gives you the red card, which I thought was neat how you could only fight him when you beat everyone else there.

I've yet to finish, but this just seems like X/Y 2.0 with more text dumps and a tad more convenience.

What does this mean? Hasn't that been their goal since Red and Green?
what did he mean by this?

IF A POKEMON LEVELS UP WHEN NOT IN COMBAT
YOU DON'T SEE WHAT ATRIBUTES LEVELED WITH HIM
AGAIN
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

...

Okay, I have just 2 questions.

1.) Are there any minigames like Super Contests or Pokeathalon?
2.) How many hours of content is there from postgame trainers? Any interesting facility with old faces like PWT?

Is this the best champion theme in the series?

this.

I dunno, is this the best legendary theme?

Not Gary? Not Red? Not Cynthia?

Fuck no.

Is it as void of content as Gen 6 was? I keep hearing how on rails the whole game is and filled with tutorials that never end, so if there is nothing in the game again I'm just gonna play showdown and wait for Pokemon Prism instead.

I'm completely skipping the DP remakes.

Taking that kind of shit and giving it the ORAS treatment? We'll live to see the FFXV of Pokemon.

I have no real interest in the game other team skull. The female grunt is cute. Tell me, is Lillie ub 01, or does she merge with it as some point?

i like Iris' theme

D&P sucked so yeah, I'll probably skip it too unless they some how magically make it not shit.

Ok

blonde bad guy is brother of blonde good girl, and both are suns of blonde ambiguous yet obviously big bad woman

Kukui is the "champion" battle after the elite 4 which recycles 3 hakuna matatas and adds one of flying type

some guy from Black and White is in the game

No, someone else merges with it.

Cynthia is, but Kukui is a solid attempt.

genIV fas need not apply

Most of the first island is handholding, but you get opportunities to do stuff off the main course even then.

Battle royal is a much better gimmick battle mode than anyone ever before.
Removing triples and that other shit was a great move too

Noone's stopping you from playing boring fan attempts at mimicking the old barebones games. Sun & Moon is the toughest vanilla pokemon game yet. If you play on hard mode of course, by not abusing the exp share.

There is no chance of DP remakes since you can simply play them on DS even now.
The next game is confirmed to be called "Stars", so a sequel of 3rd version to Sun and moon, probably with plot from Kalos.
They need the Switch hardware and it shows in S&M.

...

Whow has been your bro so far in this game and from older games? My new bro so far has been Araquanid, but I also have been using eviolite magmar.

There's a reason that Lillie looks like UB-01, but she's not UB-01.

HER MOTHER IS OBSESSED WITH THE ULTRA BEASTS AND DRESSED HER KIDS UP LIKE THEM, EXCEPT THAT'S PARTLY BECAUSE UB-01 INJECTED HER WITH MIND ALTERING TOXINS WHICH ACCELERATED HER MENTAL ILLNESS THAT STEMMED FROM THE LOSS OF HER HUSBAND, WHO IS STILL ALIVE BUT IS WITHOUT MEMORIES, HE HOSTS THE POKE PELAGO MANAGEMENT GAME AND HIS NAME IS MOHN

LUSAMINE FUSES WITH UB-01 ALSO KNOWN AS NIHILIGO, AND FIGHTS YOU WITH A TEAM OF TOTEM POKEMON WITH GREATLY INCREASED STATS

LILLIE AND EDGY KID ARE BROTHER AND SISTER AND ARE THE CHILDREN OF LUSAMINE

YOU CAN ONLY GET ONE TYPE:NULL DURING POST GAME, YOU TALK TO EDGY KID AT THE AETHER FOUNDATION, SO BE SURE TO RESET IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE NATURE OR STATS

BOTTLE CAPS ARE KINDA HARD TO GET SO EH

The only reason I'll ever pay attention to new official pokemon games is for the romhacks, Rutile Ruby/Star Sapphire fixed a fuck load of problems with OR/AS and Blaze Black 2/Volt White 2 turned out to be better than any official game in the series. And if Pokemon Brown was anything to go by, Prism should be bretty good.

nagisa dies at the end of clannad

Is this the coolest pokemon battle theme yet?

...

Can you transfer pokemon from Red/Blue/Yellow Virtual console to sun & moon yet? They did say that was happening right?

Man, you're a total fanboy for these, aren't you?

Pretty cool battle and theme to suit it indeed, but I now that I've seen Sun&Moon I can't understand the appeal of characters being non existent before and after you just fight them for a badge or whatever.
Almost all the characters from S&M appear multiple times and have events specific to them.

Starting at January through the pokemon Bank app for 3ds.

Damn straight

NO.
FUCK YOU.
I WANT TO SEE WHATEVER GROWTH MY SHITTY MON HAD.

I CAN ONLY PLAY NUZLOCKES NOW SINCE THE GAMES ARE SO FUCKING DAMN EASY THAT THERE IS NO POINT IN FUCKING PLAY THEM ALTOGETHER UNLESS YOU HANDICAP YOURSELF, SO YES, SEEING MY SHITMON GROWTH IS PRETTY FUCKING CRUCIAL, AND MOST OF ALL my autism needs to see numbers getting bigger FUCK

I've been using Slowpoke for the first time in any Pokemon game and I really like him. I've also been training a Bagon since I caught one of the 1% ones that shows up on the first island and figured to hell with it. Salamence is my least favorite of the dragons but I guess like Slowpoke I need to use something new.

Everything else on my team right now is Alolan: Edgeowl, Trumpmon.and Sexlizard.

>HOW TO IMPROVE THE LUSAMINE-UB FIGHT:
>FIGHT THE ACTUAL FUCKING NIHILEGO/LUSAMINE MONSTER.
>LUSAMINE'S POKES GET SUMMONED AS ALLY POKEMONS.

Okay?

No Fissure/No Guard Machokes until January

I figured out all of these just by browsing porn on pixiv

...

The new pokemon designs are great. Lurantis and Oricorio are way too cute, and Toucannon is an absolute bro.
New pokemon are made with the sole purpose of fucking up the meta. Mudsdale gets a defense boost every time you hit it. Kommo-o is either immune to Hyper Voice or Moonblast/Shadow Ball. Mimikyuu gets a free substitute. The Tapus make terrain based teams viable. Beast Boost is like a customizable Moxie. There's a lot more to work with from a competitive standpoint.
The writing has a comedic slant compared to the previous games. Team Skull is great because of this
No more HMs. Now you can go through the game with whatever team you want. Also you get to ride a Machamp
The game is more difficult. You actually have to use the stat boost/drop moves now. X items are a great help
Hatching eggs is a lot easier this time around. The person who gives you eggs crosses her arms when there's one ready, you can even see her do it.
The music is great
Z moves are a great idea. There was little reason to not mega your pokemon in XY, but in Sun/Moon you actually have to think about your Z move. Also you can give the same Z crystal to multiple pokemon, and you can't accidentally trade them away.
Pokemon Refresh is a bit more personal than Amie was in gen 6. You can cure your pokemon of status effects outside battle, and they removed that shitty minigame where you make faces at the camera and it doesn't register.

PSS was great. They replaced it with this plaza thing which just makes everything more convoluted. Try playing with someone on your friends list in XY, then try the same in Sun/Moon.
No more triple/hoard battles. In the game where they add a pokemon that can take multiple turns per turn.
GTS doesn't let you write your own messages any more. This is probably due to the extra languages they added. You pick from a list of predefined messages now.
The story is a bigger deal. This in itself isn't a bad thing but you feel railroaded into playing the game the way the devs want. Future playthroughs are going to be a drag.

People are fucking around with the predefined messages. I've had people who just say "*squish* *squish* *squish*, *clap*, *clap*"
The final boss's pokemon look visibly angry. It's a neat touch
Nintendo are actually selling replicas of Lillie's bag on Amazon. It's expensive, but at least you'll be able to store your Cosmog somewhere
Ultra Beasts could possibly tie into gen 1's glitchiness, if Game Freak was smart. Both gen 1 and 7 have people punching holes in the universe and letting unspeakable horrors slip through the cracks, it's just intentional this time.
There's an unreleased mythical pokemon with a Fighting/Ghost typing.

You what
It's a fucking hack of Crystal

==SO I CAN TRANSFER A NO GUARD MACHAMP WITH FISSURE?== This is important.

You know you could have just posted a bunch of spongebob images and saved yourself the time it took to write that out.

bro

Probably won't work

I've used more revives in S/M than any other Pokemon game, which I guess is fine because they keep handing them out like candy.

Pokemon didn't have natures at the time, so I'm sure they're going to jew me then. at least I can transfer a Nidoking with Bubblebeam.

Honestly I have no idea how these broken gimmicks will work, but I guess and hope they won't let something as obvious as a 100% OHKO move work.
Seeing some of the balance changes they made in SM, they have probably started caring for that.

It absolutely is. I was smiling for that whole fight.

Crystal was only disassembled last year, retard.

What are the differences between sun and moon?

The new Alolan Sandshrew is only in Moon and I'm not a fan of Lunala compared to Solgaleo.

It's pretty much the best pokemon game since ever.

Aside from the version exclusive pokemon, Moon is timeshifted 12 hours compared to your DS clock. There isn't a difference in terms of plot since the two legendary pokemon do the same thing.

You get different stores in your Join Avenue but you can buy stores from other players so you can still get the most useful ones.

whoever thought it was a good idea for guzzlord to know thrash is a fucking asshole

Version exclusive pokemon, and some pokemon evolve differently depending on what version they're in. Rockruff becomes smug in Sun and edgy in Moon, for example.
Some of the Totem boss fights are different. Either different pokemon or different tactics.
In Pokemon Moon day is night and vice versa. You can enable/disable this in both versions in the postgame.

Are you gonna make him into slow king or slowbro? I always liked slowbro more due to looks.

So is there good variety online, or do you just see the same teams over and over?

I assume Psychic Terrain is popular.

You'll probably see a lot of UB's on teams, but otherwise it's kinda gen 5 meta with terrain wars instead of weather wars.

The only way they could really jew you is if every pokemon you transfer from gen 1 has its hidden ability, because then you couldn't use an ability capsule to get No Guard.

I can live with that. I assume. I didn't play gen 5

Found some interesting combos- on paper.
Like having Aquaranid and Escavalier in Trick Room doubles, and using Entrainment to give Water Bubble to Escavalier.

Also, Z-Conversion increases all stats 1 stage.
Adaptability Z-Conversion Porygon Z could be devastating (Blizzard Ice Type would need Aurora Veil protection, and Discharge Electric type would need support against Ground types/Lightning Rod)

With Rain getting another good Drizzler and powerful electric types like Topu keko and A-Raichu and Hail getting the best setter it could ever have in A-Ninetales and Aurora veil, this is more than just genV meta.
Z-moves provide opportunities for creativity and things like Z-Porygon-Z have already taken over OU

Effectively a shit ton of pokemon had niches that they could fill compared to the cookie cutter power creep teams of Gen 6.

Well when I say Gen 5 I mean that a lot of the new pokemon have niches they can fill and I really enjoy what Z-moves can do. Of course it may just go back to cookie cutter teams once the post-bank happens.

Of course, until they ban shit like Landorus-I and Aegislash the meta won't open out much

...

Well I got lucky enough to get a Froslass for my in-game spooks team on GTS, even though I never found a Dawn Stone on Isle Aphun. I enjoyed the game just fine after that, but when I really picked up momentum was when I got TM 30 for Shadow Ball and finally got to the Ghost trial. I was excited the whole time, especially when I saw that Mimikyu is actually the totem Pokémon for the trial. Besides one of the previous totems being a OHKO for a quad weakness, the others were all prolonged damage sponge battles, so I went in expecting a similar fight…and I couldn't help but laugh when Mimikyu swept my entire team. Her attack was seriously more than double her ally pokémon. After resorting to some grinding and planning, I managed to scrape a victory and catch a Mimikyu at the ghost trial site afterward. Bred it to get access to Z-Splash, got some lucky Hidden Power type coverage for the rest of my team, and I was good to go. She was even able to learn Leech Life from a TM for a solid coverage move until she got Play Rough. Then she could just use Z-Splash and sweep entire teams solo with Play Rough…until she inevitably missed with 90% accuracy, but even then Mimikyu's Special Defense is surprisingly high.
I was irked when I realized that Sensu-style Oricorio is only available AFTER the credits, but it was a good excuse to have an electric/flying type on my team at any rate.
Now I'm breeding and training a semi-competitive version of my in-game team, then I'll start working on my Pokédex. I think there were a lot of missed opportunities in the adventure/story, but the game is already fucking huge as it is. Besides that, I really dig the new trial format and Z-move progression. I just wish so much of the content wasn't restricted to the endgame/postgame. Acerola is my new favorite girl.

The problem is that the only things banned in smogon are the things that make the big circle jerk e-celebs or the admins/heads really butthurt. Pichu with wonder guard and a balloon is banned just for the reason it made a admin asshurt when he got memed on by fullderp.

...

One's a star and one's a moon

I hope you're pretending to be retarded considering Pichu doesn't get Wonder Guard legally.

Anyone have any regenerator mareanie breejects that I can have? 40+ sos chains are a pain because I can't keep them going after checking the first mareanie.

That sounds amazing. I have been using tsareena with z-spalsh as well since I usually just use leftovers with my mimikyu since it makes him a bit more tanky.

user, there are ways to pass on abilities to other pokemon you silly goose.

it was Minun not pichu

showderp.booru.org/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=28

Sorry, I always mix them up.

That still doesn't explain shit

Summoning Lurantis for Mallow's trial is so lewd.

It's like jerking off and cumming on Mallow and Lurantis is attracted to the smell

So I just went full retard because I can't read. Also Minun does not get Wonder Guard either nor can any pokemon get Wonder Guard by any legal means.

At least Tornadus-I and Thundurus-I get shit on by Weavile now.

I think you're quoting the wrong person, because I never said anything like that.

I'm ironically quoting whoever you replied to

It's the most linear pokemon game to date which can either be a plus or a negative to whoever you're asking. To me, it's a negative. Every time you think, "man, it's time for me to go out and explore" you're greeted by people constantly telling you to fuck off and go get the story done. This never ends until you get access to the "Pokemon League". I hate it about this game and is a huge step back from everything I've loved about the series. You can say the games have always had some form of linearity, and it has, but not to this level.

The entire thing about the Alolans being nice is also a negative for me, not them being nice mind. It's them being nice enough to constantly supply you with items ranging from pokeballs to health items. I went through the entirety of the game not needing to spend my money on the things I should be buying. I never had to worry about my money in any capacity for the entire game because I never needed to buy anything.

The pokemon ride stuff was a nice idea, but in execution it failed. They acted exactly like HMs, but for the most part a few of them could have been substituted for something else or given to a different pokemon. Sharpedo, for example, should have been the only surfable pokemon since it sees more use towards the end since it can break boulders in the water. Stoutland shouldn't have been a thing and could have been replaced by an Item Finder like the past games. Machamp's Push is very underutilized and feels like it was thrown in there at the last second.

The pitiful excuse for a Victory Road.

Even without EXP. Share, the game is far too easy with every trainer having at max 4 pokemon with the grand majority of them only having 1 or 2. The sense of progression over time with these trainers was piss poor, nothing was challenging.

The wasted potential in damn near all of the characters. Plumeria was very underutilized after being shown off as this huge force for Skull only to have her fuck off. Hau is Hau, he's your happy go lucky fuccboi you use to get items from after you stomp him into the ground and as a character he never feels like he learns anything about himself. Gladion from the moment you meet him always has this hint of him not wanting to be part of Skull because of what he knows and his "redemption" was half assed at best. Lillie is the only one who actually had a development arc to her but it was shoved in at the very last minute.

I will say, I enjoyed most of the island challenges from the captains. It gave them a bit more personality than what we've had in the past. You meet gym leader usually in their gym and observe their theme. There, you're done. I appreciated them taking a bit more time to craft these psuedo-gym battles. I really wanted to fight the Steel user, though. Overall, if you enjoy your hand being held and being treated like a retarded child, then yeah, buy it. Learn how to fucking pirate though.

Sun has all the good exclusives.

YES

My whole team is fucking grass type now and I didnt even notice, why are they soo good or so many of them this gen

The tower UB and Oranguru are pretty cool.
But I'd agree.

I assume Alolan Sandslash is useless unless I'm missing something?

Grass, Bug, ghost and (arguably) Ice got some major new contenders.

...

The link to the replay is in the image you fucking retard.

It's decent in hail and being a steel type it resists a bunch of shit. But being an ice type drags it down defensively and being a steel type does nothing for it offensively.
Also oranguru is worthless outside of doubles. At least gay locker room sex monkey can do shit by itself.

What do I need to do to update from the early leak to a retail dump and not get my ass banned?

Delete the game and download a legit version instead.

Show me the porn

Find it yourself, idiot.

Skyrim would be perfect for you I think friend

Transfer your save using JKSV

You don't agree with me that it's linear? I don't see how since it's very obvious it is.

But it's ability is useless in singles, right?

He's been unreasonably sucking this game's dick since the first post, what do you think?

I'm not 100% sure but I think receiver can inherit an ability in singles too, the wording isn't very clear. Either way, he has 120 attack and stab close combat.

HEY
DON'T TALK SHIT ABOUT MAMA GURU
SHE'S THE BEST!

My new bro has also been Araquanid, nigga's been the MVP in almost all of the totem fights after the second.

Old bro is slim pickings since I managed to get all but three of my two team sets filled with new pokemon, and it's difficult to choose just one. I never realized until now how much of a wall Bastiodon is, Muk's been badly poisoning everyone, and Magnemite has somehow dealt more finishing blows than anyone else in the second set.

Fuck off.

Why is Araquanid so based?

Because it has a retarded ability that's literally 3 abilities at once.

LOL WUT

wat

It's my personal belief that the rotom pokedex is fucking with everyone, because the ones in this game are bizarre even by the series standards.

Wait, it's a completely different Pokemon in behavior in another world?

Does that mean a Lunala can be an actual bro in Moon? I just wish parts of its design weren't so fucking stupid.

Toucannon. It wrecked everything until it evolved using Brick Break, then it learned Beak Blast. It gimps every physical attacker dumb enough to strike it, and at the very worst it can burn an enemy before fainting. It makes Golisopod a joke, if the user goes for an attack.

The APE finally found peace in the conforting arms of death.

This shit really makes me wish there as an entry for rotom, just to see what stupid shit it says about itself. The fact that rotom isn't in the pokdex is retarded since it is literally inside the fucking pokedex what the fuck gamefreak

Pretty sure the implication is that it's trying to protect small pokemon but killing them by accident.

Still infinitely prefer Mega Lucario to the regular.

Actually a decent, more natural design if you think about it.

If that's true his own entry would be great
Rotom: The best pokemon ever. All the ladies can't get enough of him. He's got a base stat total of 900 but holds back because he pities everything else.

So basically Mega Evolution is what the Lake of Rage section of Team Rocket was trying to achieve: weaponize pokemon as purely fighting machines?

Then Rotom should be writing all the pokemon lore, because this pokedex is way better than the old one. Nobody cares how many Indian elephants you can zap, we want to hear about the masses of bones from all the people Palossand has killed.

More or less it seems.
Looks like Pokemon hate Mega Evos in universe just as much as some people outside of it. Kind of wish there was a drawback with Mega Evolution, such as it liking you less or something to that affect.

...

Is there a hot Pele themed ara in this game?

Diglett is the pele pokemon

...

What about the other Megas? I want to see all of their descriptions.

Bizzarre and dark. Gengar fucking straight up kills people. Wishwashi is incredibly tasty so people eat it. If a Golbat drinks too much blood it gets too heavy to fly, falls to the ground and becomes food for other pokemon. There's an entry about Toxapex (or was it Mareanie) that says that while it walks on the sea floor it leaves bits of Corsola in its wake. In game, if Mareanie shows up in battle when a Corsola cries for help, there's a huge chance Mareanie will use Bite on Corsola. Araquanid drowns small pokemon with the bubble of water around its head.

Also didn't one of the creators of the game dislike the idea of Megas and that's why they're not prominent in this game?

The game overall is bit "darker". Even Team Skull, while silly, is made up of failed trainers and failed island trial challengers. A lot of them are rejected by society and most are homeless. A grunt even mentions that they don't care about world domination, they just want money to survive. Guzma is even a failed trial captain, it's also hinted at that he was abused physically as a child, so he ran away. Lusamine is an emotionally abusive mother, on top of all the other things she fucking does like freezing pokemon and keeping them as trophies.

Slaking named Snormalfag pls

How does Alolan Dugtrio hold up? I fucking love the hair, and the line has always been Muh Bois ever since they helped me cheese Surge at such a young age.

I can't imagine they'd be much better for the most part, since most of these revolve around the massive surge in power fucking up their brainspace pretty good, I can't imagine Houndoom mellowing out when it goes full edgelord.

That's all?

This immediately came to mind.

I hated how it looked in the leaks, but I used it once on showdown and it's just pure fun.

Vid related. And we'll know if it's true if Rotom's dex entry sings it's praises.

I thought it was more the case it could selectively drown targets. Somehow.
Like heavily oxygenated water for rescue, or even that when underwater the bubble becomes an air bubble (or it just uses the water as cradle and bolts for the surface).

Alolan Dugtrio is Dugtrio with more stats and a secondary Steel type (because his hair is apparently made of steel).

Less speed (by 10 points), more defense (again, by 10 points).

One of it's abilities is dropped for basically gooey.
And it's Ground/Steel. So it makes Iron Head + metal claw hit harder.

It's worse than normal dugtrio in every way. It loses speed for defense (it's still frail as shit) and loses arena trap, which is the only reason to use dugtrio in the first place.

No Arena Trap but every time it's hit the opponent's speed falls. Also the steel type means it resists normal type more and ground type less. Then again it's a Dugtrio so you shouldn't be using it to tank hits.
No idea about competitive but it was amazing for the main game. Totem Mimikyuu never stood a chance against it

Full Derp and Cyber Bully General

Not all the mega stones are in the game, so it's a shame that they kept the more cancerous megas (Salamence, Kangaskhan, Rayquaza) rather than the more balanced and fun ones (Ampharos, Pinsir etc.).

Maybe the plan was to get everyone else to hate megas as much as they do.

I wonder if after the pokemon bank update, if they'll update the game so the national dex is a thing

Disregard that I'm retarded, it's just that there aren't mega stones for pokemon that aren't in the Alola dex. Sadly all the worst ones are.

WHY ARE SUN AND MOON'S DEX ENTRIES SO FUCKING DIFFERENT IN TONE AND CONTENT.

Well, that destroys my headcanon I guess. I thought Gengar was Clefable's Shadow.

...

I'm gonna regret this, but Charizard and Fug?

Mind doing mega gardevoir, mega gallade and hoenn starters?
Mite be gud

Pyukumuku crawls up on beaches just to shrivel up an die.

A Minior that's lost its shell will die in a few minutes if it's not put into a Pokeball.

Jesus. What about Gardevoir?

...

(checked)
And that's why Pyukumuku Chucking is such a pasttime in Alola, to keep those Pokémon from shrivelling up and dying on beaches by picking one up and tossing it into the ocean.

Pyukumuku is a delicate soul and must be cherished.

...

How do they consistently top the semen demons of the previous games every damn time?

These are made up. There is no pokedex entry for these pokemon in sun/moon.

...

I don't know. The newer one looks much more childish compared to Hilda, Rosa or Serena.

But that artwork, fuck.

That's a feature, not a bug.

Depends on the artwork I guess.

No one has topped Cynthia yet. Hilda is still the best female trainer design.

But Olivia is hot, as is Lusamine and Wicke. Kahili and Mallow are nice as well. Acerola and Lillie are pretty cute.

I don't like the design for the female trainer. At least you could change her outfit, though the options aren't much.

Oh, so she's flat.

All this good taste is refreshing.

Or maybe clefable was once a human? Even though I'm pretty sure one of the pokedexes called clefable an alien.
…Unless if humans are aliens in the pokemon world too.

How do I convince myself to save lewds of girls that aren't porn?

plenty of better girls

Day and night

Yeah, no.

I think back to the first gen dex entries they've been saying Clefairy\Clefable were obssessed with the moon, and it was THOUGHT they were from there.
Meanwhle Lunatone and Solrock are 100% confirmed from space, as is Deoxys obviously.

What's a good new grass type for an Ingrain+Giga Drain tank build?

If possible please don't spoil the final evolution and just tell me the first form so I can catch it.

...

its ok for you to have shit taste I guess

I don't like this.
I don't like it one bit.

You're a faggot.

The amount of doujin material is scary.

You really need convincing user?

Goddamn she's so hot.

I didnt say anything about lolis laddie
dont get too upset

what if pokemon added the option in-battle to do nothing or brace for your opponent's next move for one turn??

wouldnt that make bulky pokemon with self regen even more bullshit?

Protect (move)
Protect protects the user from all effects of moves that target it during the turn it is used, including damage.

Using an adrenaline orb wastes a turn but doesn't use up the item if you've already used one. Useful for SOS battles which is basically the only time you'd need a "wait" option outside of the gamecube games.

...

If you mean without having a move slot taken up, that would be kind of dumb because now defensive pokemon get five moves while more aggressive ones are the same.

...

Clearly meant a way to waste a turn without wasting PP

Adrenaline Orb does it, but it's just a work around

This shit has to fucking stop. I'm sick of it.

Any one not trading starter for starter deserves death

...

People have always been greedy as fuck like that.
Just wait for the usual threads here on Holla Forums.
I liked the X\Y situation with any 'mon for a luvdisc (holding a heart scale if you feel generous)

Is that fucking LOSS?

Woooooow

welcome to gts since forever, its why I made up the "diancie egg 4 shiny" scam back on 4cuck /vp/ which I ripped off some ancient scam post

I still have the 98 shinies left over from the 130 something I made from that fucking thing. then I used the shinies to help trade my way to a complete 720 pokedex

Maybe, but the bulky pokemon would likely have some moves like recover that would be more useful than skipping a turn or upping defense for one turn.

That isn't doing nothing or bracing for your opponent's next move and would allow the opponent to use Feint. Learn to read. pic related is along the lines of what I'm thinking.

what is this

Less then a week ago I asked and anons said the GTS was less shit.

If you want something before the postgame I don't think there are any. Formantis and Bounsweet are attack oriented, rather than tanky. You might get away with Trop Kick + Shell Bell bountsweet, but that's stupid. Cottonee is available early on, which might help. And if you didn't know, to fully evolve Bounsweet is has to know Stomp
For postgame Tapu Bulu is great. It automaticaly sets Grassy Terrain when sent out, and learns Horn Leech and Substitute. I'm sure it'll learn Ingrain too.

While the GTS is indeed full of children who want stupid shit in exchange for little, is it really that difficult to use a Ditto and start breeding starters and cosmogs.

>Apart from Eureka they got barely any art
>As far as I know Gen 7 doesn't have a new toddler/near-toddler trainer

Sun/Moon have preschoolers though.

...

Alright, thanks. I've been trying to assemble a decent team entirely out of new Pokes, but I'm having a really hard time finding good tanks, grass or otherwise. Seems like all of them are balanced or sweepers.

Well sure, but I did specify a new one, like a new trainer type. Not to say that the old ones are bad.

You can't breed Cosmog though, can you? It's a legendary/Ultra Beast.

If you need a tank try Mudbray. When catching one hit it once to see what it's ability is. If Stamina kicks in that's the one you want. You'll know why it's such a good tank when you see what Stamina does. If you want it spoiled: it's defense goes up every time it's hit.
Pikipek is pretty neat as well when fully evolved. It gets a reliable way to burn enemies, which helps against physical attackers.

I think I might be retarded then, considering how I'm going off hearsay and never actually tried it.
I maintain that starters can get you almost anything though

You bring Solgeo/Lunala back to the Altar of the Sunne/Moone, and it opens a portal that swaps the day/night around. You go to the "opposite" world (only difference is the day/night cycle), then you go to the Lake of the Sunne/Moone, cutscene, and you get Cosmog.

Also, Nanu was the best character in the game.

So I've never understood the concept of breeding for IVs. People always link me to the Serebii guide, but that's never given me a really good idea of how to go about breeding for them - all it's really done is explain to me what IVs are and what they do, which isn't super helpful when it comes to actually making good mons. Is there a straightforward explanation anywhere of the process for breeding perfect IV mons?

...

Nah nigga, Feebas. Feebas will get you ANYTHING.

Thanks, I'll check those out.

It's not exactly complicated, and I've heard that they've made I've even more trivial in gen 6 and 7.

I'll try and break it down for you.

The important thing to remember is that Destiny knot makes the baby inherit 5 IVs from its parents and Everstone makes it inherit the nature of the parent holding it.

No idea about breeding them but this is how they work:
Base stat: The actual value of the stat. Constant for each species. This is what makes a pokemon like Shuckle have more defense than Aggron.
EV: Effort Value. Can have up to 252 in each stat, with a maximum of 510 over all stats. Every 4 points your pokemon's stat will go up by 1. 252/4 = 63, so maxing out EVs for a stat increases it by 63. You can't max out every EV so you have to think about where you're investing them.
IV: Individuality value. Constant for each specific pokemon. Catch two pokemon of the same species and they'll have the same base stats but different IVs. You don't change them, you can just influence them through breeding. You CAN max out every IV, and there's usually no downside to doing so. Only reasons not to would be Trick Room teams or lowering attack on a special attacker so it doesn't hurt itself in confusion as badly

A pokemon's stat takes those 3 things into account. I don't know the formula exactly but it's something like: base stat + 1/4 EV + IV = real stat.

Gen 6 did because they gave you the safari zone where you were 100% guaranteed to get 3 perfect IV's on every ditto. I don't know if Gen 7 has such a thing. Even if it does, I already did the autism ride in Gen 6 to get a 6IV Lilligant. It's too much autism still. Better to just hack yourself a shiny Japanese 6IV ditto instead.

Not being able to get the other Legendary this way was full retard.

bbbbbBBBBBBEST

I've convinced myself she's like 30 or something too

It's like you dont even eugenics, son.

Okay, that seems to be more or less what I thought the process was; I still feel like I'm missing something though. If Destiny Knot only passes 5 IVs do you just breed repeatedly until the 5 that get passed on are the ones you want? And then what do you do about the sixth stat? I hope to god you don't just need to breed until the sixth stat happens to also be maximum. Is there some other way to improve that the last stat will be 31?

Pokemon ORAS sucked dick, but it had that pokeradar that really helped when trying to find 'mons with better IVs. In pokemon XY you had that fucking pokemon detector thing (it was like a metal detector) to scout pokemons in the tall grass, and by using friend safari (worst thing ever created by gamefreak) you could find pokemons with better IVs.

What about Sun/Moon? Does it have a "tool" to help me find better pokemons or do I have to use that bottle cap bullshit to get maximum IVs?

I just catch the Pokemon I like and have since Yellow.

finetune your favorite pokemon into a ruthless killing machine, sweep noobs with Farfetch'd

The last one will always be random, but it'll normally be an attacking stat that you aren't using. If you do need that, you can level your pokemon up to 100 and use Hyper Training to get that last stat (I haven't tried it yet, but I understand that hyper training boosts aren't inheritable).

Pokemon showing up later in SOS battles have up to four perfect IVs.

That's good to know, even though it seems kind of grind hard to get good pokemons. But what if I want a pokemon that doesn't come on SOS? Or all pokemons have a SOS slot?

Noobs just use a team of legendaries against which your perfect IV fully EV trained smogon moveset Farfetch'd stands zero chance.

>Gredinja

Every fucking online battle in OR/AS.

A pokemon only needs 3 IVs maxed at the most. Fully perfect is nice, but totally unnecessary.

Trick Room, abuse Crits (The stick gives Farfetch'd one boost to crit. 3 = gurentee), use spot-light from the mushroom or follow me, and top it off with Psych Up or any stat-boost copying/sharing abilities (boost on something decent, give it to fetch'd.)

Good luck duck.

Thanks for giving me another reason to hate that amphibious fucker.

Catch a male SOS pokemon (or Ditto) with a bunch of good stats and breed it with a female of what you actually want. Everything catchable in Alola except Komala, Minior and legendaries can show up in SOS.

It gets a lot faster to get 5IV pokemon when you already have a few.

On the second island currently. I had hefty doubts about the game heading in. Thus far, I have to say, my impression of the game is that it gets a lot of little things right, but misses on the big picture.

The atmosphere is excellent, the design of the maps flow nicely, the towns actually feel like people live there and are not a bunch of buildings arranged solely for the character to use. Interface is nice, though the Rotomdex being the default bottom screen takes getting used to.

Overall though, it doesn't feel like a Pokemon game. The amount of handholding at the beginning of the game is ludicrous. "Allow me to heal you before every minimally important battle" is also something I could do without. If I get caught with my hand in my ass, and damaged mons, my fucking problem. The stupid "follow the flag" nonsense that comes with the Rotomdex annoys the fuck out of me. The game also runs weird at times. SOS battles, a couple of scripted battles, I've noticed the game takes extra time between input and launch of attacks. Entering the first big city for the first time, things loaded in at an odd pace.

Overall, my original thoughts on the game seem to still hold up. With the new "story" (the Island Challenge), and gimmick (Different typed mons) Sun and Moon would have been better served to be a side game, along the Colosseum and Gale of Darkness vein. It doesn't feel like Pokemon. Alola is a great overworld, it's a place that feels really lively, but it really doesn't feel like the main series of Pokemon.

and for some reason I left that flag on. wew

She looks cute, but she seems more like a short woman to me.

Don't you hate it when that happens?

It's one of those little things. You just go "Ah god damn it" and it frustrates you more than it should.

...

waaaaah this game is too different

waaaah its more of the same

you cant fucking please people EVER

What a worthless post.

Wish there was more to the Elite 4 theme. It feels like it's building up to something huge only for it to start looping again.

Bullshit. There is no reason whatsoever to not have Def, Sp.Def, HP, and your choice of Atk or Sp.Atk maxed. 99.9% of the time Spd as well.

Basically unless it's a mixed attacker you always want a minimum of 5 maxed.

Fuck Gyms, good riddance that they're possibly finally being done away with when all they do is make things stale and formulaic in the long run.

If you're fighting other competitive players, sure. Otherwise three is plenty.

When a pokemon calls for aid, a chain starts, keep knocking out those and you'll get up to 4 guaranteed ivs.

Poor form, Gamefreak.

bump, I needs some mons for dem programs

I agree. S/M didn't go far enough. It's high time Pokemon games got a new "plot" that isn't

EVERY SINGLE FUCKING GAME. Anything else, any other plot at all, any other adventure at all that isn't the same god damn thing. Throw some video game plots in a hat and pull one out and I guarantee it'll be better than what we've been doing.

I would gladly play a main series game where either mascot just wants to fuck shit up because it's an asshole like Groudon and Kyogre and it's an enemy that the entire game builds up to without being able to throw a Master Ball.

The main reason I enjoyed the trials were for the Totem Pokemon. I don't see how they can reasonably include them in games that take place in another region though. Totem Pokemon exist because of Ultra Space pouring energy into Alola. Not that I don't like the Ultra Beasts but if they keep doing that the trials will become more stale too.

My only non-Grass is Comfey.

While I'm not in favour of squashing the Gym/League format entirely, I do want to be able to have a really good "final" battle like you're describing.

It's cheap as all goddamn fuck that I can awaken a God with a flute nobody's ever seen before, or knows how to play, scale a fucking mountain, play the flute and then huck a metal ball at it like you're something big. It's a fucking GOD. While we're on Legendaries, I never got over the fact that there were two Articunos in Gen 1. Make non-deity Legendaries breedable god damn it. Make it stupidly difficult, like they're prudes or something, and won't mate with anyone but another mon of the same species on top of taking a long time in the Day Care.

And I'm fine with the plots, I'm just sick of the progression.

Beat 4 gyms? The game's halfway over.
Beat 3 more? Time to stop the fancy mon on the cover near the end of your adventure. It all feels so short and small in the grand scheme of things.
Beat the last gym? Time to suffer through Victory Road then take on the Pokemon League as usual.
That's done? Here's a couple small towns and an exclusive postgame mon that's secretly like it and its counterpart.
Now enjoy online battling, faggot. Thanks for the $30 until the next one.

There has to be a better way to lengthen playtime. This is why addicting colorful shit like Pokeathalon matters to me. You won't always feel like going to boring shit like Battle Tower just for some trophy after being 50 opponents straight, but you definitely might be in the mood to take your bros and compete in some fun competition made just for them you didn't have to beat the game just to get.

my man

I would turn on my DSi just to head there and spend hours.

It's the one thing that made me reluctant to give up HeartGold in exchange for my roommate buying me Digimon World Dawn after I got jealous not owning any of the actual RPGs watching him play Cyber Sluts. That kind of expansion of the world and using each Pokemon's individual strengths to compete in massive Olympics style events including racing, breaking shit or playing human bumper cars makes it painful that nothing like it has been seen since. Even just a less impressive clone to accommodate all the new Pokemon after Gen IV.

And before anyone says anything, I've always loved Digimon as well and I made sure to send everyone over to White 2 where they can chill in everything Unova has to offer with everyone else I've ever raised for all eternity.

I like how the MC is a serial bed intruder.

Noped the fuck outta that room .

I want to go balls deep in Ilima's boypussy.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

well fuck

HIDE YO KIDS

All the captains have that line after you have a rematch. Feels like something huge we're missing.

It means you can unlock a new battle style at the guy in Malie City

well thats underwhelming

considering the MC always has that fucking thousand yard stare it doesn't mean much

PLAY TABLETOP

T A B L E T O P
A
B
L
E
T
O
P

It can fix nearly ANY problem you have with this series.

Best trainer class, the male one is an absolute faggot though. Please tell me the sunhat is an available customization option for girls eventually, I took a break from playing after the banwave(s).

by tabletop do you mean the one that /tg/ made?
i wold love to play my hulk hogan character

I traded for a Machamp soon after the second Totem battle, and he's been my Pokenigga throughout the rest of the game. I normally have a habit of gravitating to psychic Pokemon, but it feels nice to drift into new territory.

I… think they did, actually. Pokemon Tabletop United.
You can be Hulk Hogan and fight pokemon with wrestling moves while your abnormally buff Clefairy also wrestles them into submission. I don't wanna say you can do anything, but you can do anything

HO YEAH BROTHER, YOU READY FOR A POKEMON ADVENTURE?!?

Do i have to post the Incineroar pasta now

Hmm… so I'd wager your trainer classes would probably be Athlete and Cheerleader at the minimum for the Hulkster. Maybe Commander if you want to lead your pokemon for sick tag team moves.
sounds fun

actually a martial artist with a focus on grappling

do it

…the Elite Four in the Pokemon League at the Indigo Plateau, Kanto. It's a day that I'm sure my guest at this time will not forget, I'm talking about the FORMER Johto League Champion, Alola Mon IncineRoar

NOTHING MEANS NOTHING

…nothing means nothing??

nothing means nothing, man…

what do you mean by that?

I'm talkin' about all the way to the top, yeah.
I'M JUSTIFIABLY IN A POSITION WHERE I'D RATHER NOT BE IN, BUT THE CREAM, WILL RISE TO THE TOP, oooh yeahh
Alola Madness, yeah has got more to offer, THAN CHAMPION LANCE THINKS THAT I GOT, and yeah, let me tell you something right now, RNG is stacked against the Alola Mon IncineRoar.
And the Elite 4, yeah, and let me say it to ya, let me say it out loud, AND LET ME POINT, TO THE CHAMPION OF THE WORLD POKEMON FEDERATION, the Alola Mon IncineRoar is not happy with your decision, yeah.
I AM THE CREAM in the World Pokemon Federation

wait, wait a minu…

and there is no doubt about it, yeah you, Sly Decidueye, you KNOW THAT I'M THE CREAM OF THE CROP

Wait a minute though IncineRoar, I've got to ask you very seriously, do you BLAME Lance, the Champion of the World Pokemon Federation, for HakaMo-O being the Johto League Champion today?

Yeah i do, yeah. Outside interference, yeah, IN MY MOMENT OF GLORY!
Yeah, and now I'm living in a nightmare. And I am the cream.
And now, not only the Johto League Championship Title must fall, but the KANTO LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE!
Cause BlaziKen yeah, I am, the cream, yeah. The cream of the crop.
AND THERE'S NOONE THAT DOES IT BETTER, THAN THE ALOLA MON INCINEROAR!
On balance, off balance, doesn't matter.. I'm better than you are, yeah, and I'm talkin' everyone in the World Pokemon Federation
AND I'M EVEN TALKIN', to Champion Lance, yeah. I'm on my way and nothing's gonna stop me. Nothing's gonna stop me

You know, just out of curiosity, Incineroar, and I certainly don't want to diminish your tremendous Tajiri given talents, but I'm very curious. I haven't seen Primarina lately.

Yeah. She's on the outside of the battle, does she interfere in battles? Yeah? Nothing, zero. Pure Pokemon, yeah, AND I'VE BEEN uh, YEAH, MALIGNED!
FROM THE TOP to the bottom, and 'cause they can't handle the Alola Mon IncineRoar, THE CREAM OF THE CROP, nobody does it better

Boy do I have good news for you.

WHY DO YOU THINK I DID IT

Better than Black and white 1/2?

how?

...

B/W were worse than D/P though.

PTU Gen7 when

No. Fuck no.

I preferred any pokemon to D/P . Slow, boring, not even the music wanted to exist in that generation

That's the worst gen for me. Followed by XY

I suddenly get the appeal of loli.

What are the teams everyone is using? I kind of picked whatever pokemon I like only to realize how terribly weak it is to water.
Magmar
Tsareena you get from that trade
mimikyu
mudsdale
minior
araquanid.

...

...

I call it "Team Spooky Forest"
Decidueye
Trevenant
Mimikyu
Lycanroc
Gengar (placeholder)
Drifblim (placeholder)

I'm trying to find a couple more pokemon that'd work in the team but preferably aren't ghost types. Maybe Lunatone and something else.

I was thinking of replacing mudsdale with kommo-o. How good is it.

Sudowoodo might fit. Ariados is another one that might work.

Pimarina
Tsareena
Mudsdale
Gumshoos
Toucannon
Dugtrio-A

I got wrecked by Lusamine's Lilligant the first time arround, because Toucannon was down and Tsareena couldn't outdamage it. The story doesn't give a shit if you lose, surprisingly.

This is cruel.

I completely forgot Sudowoodo was a thing that existed. Yeah that'd give me a second tree to work with, and spiders are almost universally creepy.

It's weird. I think it's a mixed attacker of sorts with Clanging Scales, but it also has Dragon Dance and Sky Uppercut.
I thought having one would be a good idea since there are always some dragon types on the Elite 4/Champion, but this time there wasn't.

Two teams, taking advantage of the EXP share while remaining at a constant level expected.

Team A
Incineroar
Mimikyu
Wishiwashi
Lycanroc
Ribombee
Golisopod

Team B
Muk
Magnezone
Bewear
Araquanid
Lurantis
Bastiodon

And when it's time for the Elite four, I intend to pick 3 from each team and end up with
Incineroar
Araquanid
Muk
Ribombee
Mimikyu
Magnezone

No fucking shit. Do you always go out of your way to make already easy games even easier?

What other kind of Pokemon has an aura that ostensibly makes it more powerful? Orre game when?

She's 11, I'd expect her to be flat.

The Alolan form Lass definitely does something for me.

Don't make me post it Hapufag

Acerola is just Hex Maniac and Fairy Tale Girl after doing a fusion dance, right?

Kind of? She's not as crazed or spooky as either of them. From what I've seen so far I'd say she's a ghost enthusiast and total bro.

Dunno, her name is the same even in the japanese versions.

That fruit is so good, my freezer is filled with it. Acerola juice is so fucking good. I think it's the fruit with the higher Vitamin-C quantity per mass. The fruit has nothing to do with the character tough.

I meant more design wise. It definitely fits with Mimikyu being ghost/fairy, at least.

Oh aesthetically she's totally a fusion of the two.

I'll have to try it, then.

I run and lift to Guzma's theme. Holy shit this is hype videogame music if I've ever heard it.

For anyone playing XY&ORAS Meloetta Wifi event is online in the PAL region.

...

...

Hex Maniacs like scaring people for the fun of it, and Fairy Tale Girls have been noted to be older then they look, with at least one in her 30's or 40's, can just acting creepy geniunley instead of for fun.

Acerola is just a perky girl with a deformed lip that makes her look like a cat, who likes ghost pokemon, not much else.

I have to correct you here. I literally just rolled for a good nature special sweeper until I got one, and completely raped the game. I was regularly 10 levels or more above all the other trainers, and even then they have like, 2 pokemon per trainer, if they don't have just 1.

This game is as easy as any other gen, don't kid yourself.

I bet you molested the fuck out of your pokemon and used exp share.

...

I was going monoghost with

But I beat the elite four, so for funziess I'm going to breed myself a new genetically perfect team. So far, I have

unsure of what the other three should be.

Ninetales/marowak/gyarados.

Anime and japanese art surrounding that sort of style is known for prettying up deformities and wounds.

I cannot, for the life of me, understand why people liked D/P.

Because it added the most of any mainline game. The phys/special split alone is a massive deal but it also added online functionality which changed the game entirely.

The split was all I cared about and the only good thing to come out of that generation besides the pokemon following you in HG/SS… which they took out.

It sounds like a knockoff JSRF song.

That's the team I used up til elite four.

The only real players were Salazzle and Crabominable. Ledian fell off after early game because it had a neutral nature. I got completely dissapointed in my starter, it's ok, but it just feels underwhelming. Kommo-o was just for the hell of it because I caught the first evo while grinding a bit just before e4. It actually helped out in the champ fight, but then got rekt after taking out the snorlax.

So basically I only had 3 pokemon on my team that mattered – Salazzle, Crabominable, and Decidueye. Everyone else was just filling space so I didnt have to unload all the pokemon I caught but didnt want to keep in my party.

...

Exp share didnt really matter either way because I never used any pokemon other than Salazzle anyway, but yeah I did molest the shit out of my Salazzle.

Even if I hadn't I'd still have been at least 6 levels above the rest though, I'd bet.

Literally up to the E4 all I did was Nasty Plot, and then Flamethrower/Dragon Pulse/Sludge Wave or whatever else did the trick at the time. Only once I hit the E4 did that not work since they actually had some pokemon that hid hard enough to ohko Salazzle, and were tanky enough I couldnt one hit them without a set up.

It worked pretty well up until around first trip to Aether Paradise. Its last hurrah was some of the double battles there. I used it as sort of a tank/stat passer with high natural special defense and reflect, into swords dance baton pass. After Paradise though, it got completely outclassed. I just kinda hold a special place for it because I really liked it in Gold/Silver way back in the day.

bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Mobile_Stadium

Got gud nigga

My HA Beedrill yes, the non-mega ,Serperior, and Bisharp consistently merc'd bullshit teams like those. Makes me hard when Pokémon like Xerneas get rekt by a single Poison Jab after a Geomancy.

There's more to Pokémon than legendaries.
Learn to overcome.

Got gud nigga

My HA Beedrill yes, the non-mega ,Serperior, and Bisharp consistently merc'd bullshit teams like those. Makes me hard when Pokémon like Xerneas get rekt by a single Poison Jab crit after a Geomancy.

There's more to Pokémon than legendaries.
Learn to overcome.

Have skull been up to no good with their pokes?

or the pokemon like to sleep on the bed like any pet, but whatever

That doesn't count and you damn well know it.

Rolling with decuduieye, gringopod, primerape, magneton, salamancer, and slowbroseph.

Holy shit do I ever love gringopod, best new poke. Favorite bug type.

Gonna make a list of good Alolan pokemon (as in viable, not who's most fuckable)

Salazzle (Fast as fuck and hits harder then your dick is for it)
Kommo-o (for being the resident psudo-legendary)
Crabominable (weird typing and good stats)
Incineroar, Primarina, Decidueye
RIBOMBEE
Lycanroc (either form)
Wishiwashi(Jesus fuck the stats on this bitch)
Toxipex (Instacrit on poison, has unique poison/protect)
Mudsdale (Stamina)
Aranaquid(water bubble + tank)
Lurantis (Sunny Day Solar Blade strat can be useful probably)
Shiinotic (holy shit Strength Sap has uses)
Bewear (Fluffy halves damage of moves that make direct contact aka a lot of them)
Tsareena (Rapid Spin Teeter Dance High Jump Kick, prevents priority attacks)
Oranguru (Instruct is for Doubles, but it has a solid movepool, good bulk stats, a sweet typing that covers a weakness well so it's good for singles)
Passimian (eh speed, but good attack and works well as a dancer for weather teams)
Golisopod (because fuck turn order get wrecked)
Pallosand (Great sandstorm team addition, as his unique move heals him fully in a sandstorm which combined with his good bulk makes him a great stall wall)
Pyukumuku (is going to be banned as fuck like Wobbufet because it's the same, but with an ability that basically kills you if you take it down in one hit)
Silvally (Parting Shot is a dick move, and Multi-Attack is basically a physical version of Judgement. Very customizable as well)
Mimikyu (Disguise gives it a free Swords Dance buff, and it has Shadow Sneak to get at the ones who are too fast to get a shot in.)
Drampa (gets a boost at any attack that leaves it at half health, also gets roost, do the math. Also gets a sweet STAB with Hyper Voice)
Dhelmise (Triple STAB with Steel, Grass and Ghost, unique attack prevents switching out and does loadsa damage. nuff said)

The Tapu legends (all set up their own territory to boost them on entry, good movepools and stats on all, pretty speedy)

Lunala (ability halves all damage if it's at full health)
Solgeleo (stats cannot be lowered by other pokemon)

ULTRA BEASTS
Nihilego (aka UB-O1 aka Jellyfish) (VERY SOLID MOVEPOOL and weird as fuck unique typing. 3 weaknesses, 6 resistances)
Buzzwole (aka THE MOSQUETTA MAN HIMSELF has a fucking great moveset and stats)
Pheremosa (Aka Lusamine looking Ultra Beast is set to LUDICROUS SPEED)
Xurkitree (aka Guzma Wires has XBOXHUEG special attack, 80's everwhere else, which isn't bad.)
Celesteela(aka Evangelion Thing All around good stats and versatile movepool that is geared towards strategic players)
Kartana (aka Paper Man has WOAH NIGGA attack power, but bad defenses and health, and good speed.)
Guzzlord (aka Edgy Mobile House has FUCKING HUGE HEALTH, and can service as a tank who can take most anything.

Not Ultra Beast Maybe
Necrozma (aka Dragon Zord, all around great stats, and has access to Rock Polish to get ahead in speed)

Any additions, subtractions, or comments?

I like the design but it's complete trash in every way. Stop trying to be informative when you don't know shit.

Nah nigger its all about splash now

That's quite the Freudian slip you got there.

Gen II did these

What did Gen 4 add?

In what way? He was given Counter in order to keep neutral attacks from being used. And you can breed Sucker Punch on him to keep him from being last on a bad matchup. He has a niche as a Psychic counter as well as a Flying counter at the very least.

forgot about that z-move shit, need to update my Mimikyu's moves later.

In addition to the radio it also let you register other trainers in a phone which would let you rebattle them later on in the game.

Not even worth explaining why you're dumb since you won't learn.

It's a frail pure rock type with a shit movepool. It can't use counter at all because any SE attack will ohko it.

...

You argued D/P added the most of any mainline game and you assumed they were the first to add online features which you refuse to acknowledge at

If you don't provide a counter argument I win by default as you aren't adding anything to this discussion.

It wasn't the first to add it but it was obviously a far bigger improvement
Thank fuck for this
For the mainline games
Pretty sure this was in the gamecube games.
This feature isn't useful if you like winning
Thank god for that.

Do any of you go out of your way to use a particular type of pokeball? Pokeball classic and Premier/Luxyury balls are absolutely hell to catch shit like legendaries with.

Dream world was perfect for that stuff, shame it's dead now.

I skipped that gen, what did the dream world do?

Shit I just realized, you know what would be a great/awful idea? If someone did Vast Poni Canyon's theme as a midi in the style of canyon.mid.

You could befriend online Pokemon with hidden abilitys or exclusive moves, send them to your game then catch them with a 100% catch rate using a dream ball or any other ball in your inventory and able to soft reset for nature.

I got a luxury ball Arceus and Aerodactyl from this but sadly didn't get the other fossil mons as I though I had already stored them in my game.

pokemon are sexy

classic pokeball looks great and is iconic. if i could just have one style thats the one id pick. i dont like how great ball looks at all. but ultra isnt too bad

It's not that D/P were that good. It's that B/W were THAT BAD.

The only thing severely wrong with BW was how short and small it was.

Why is Primarina's hidden ability just a worse version of Pixillate but for water types?

Was anyone else disappointed that the Aether Foundation didn't turn out to be the Ultra Beasts in disguise? It would've been fucking genius if they were intelligent sentient pokemon who wanted to free their kind by remaking the universe and creating their own Arceus.

But Gamefreak had to drop the ball and squander all that potential. That story would've shaken things up in the Pokemon universe. I would pay for that version of Sun and Moon. And the sooner fan games can be legally created and sold, the sooner we can have that game, or pokemon games with original unique concepts Gamefreak is too creatively bankrupt to think of.

That theory was stupid anyway.

Shell smash
White herb
Fuck you will-o-wisp

bump

How so? It would've been a breath of fresh air for Pokemon.

Bumo

bump

when will we get a solid black/white pokeball
comeon gamefreak

Why?

those two dex entries dont necessarily contradict each other

Sure smells like halfchan in here

Kind of wish they'd give you an opportunity to use all your pokemon during one of these 'ambushes'.

And it goes from mature to overly ripe to decomposing in 2v2 battles :^)

What would you guys say is a good moveset for tsareena? I have the one you get from the trade that sadly does not come with the queenly majesty ability.

So far I am using
Trop kick
HI jump kick
Sunny day
Z-splash

so what should I sump into my lurantis? She isn't for competitive because probably shit iv but I've found her attack to be through the roof and mono type grass is neat while being able to learn bug moves

I've dumped attack training on her and swordsdance and she's fucking up groups with petal dance but what should I buff aswell?

deep inside your heart you know that sun/moon is a steaming pile of horseshit

Get some bottlecaps

Where is a good place to get Dittos with high IVs?

I spent 9 hours trying to catch Necrozma with a Beast Ball.

This is neither a positive or negative.
Good. HM slaves were terrible. The only useful HMs were Waterfall and Surf and Bibarel was the only one that got STAB from it.
I'm not sure what you mean by this. If you're talking about the anime aesthetic, Pokemon has been doing that for years. It isn't something exclusive to SuMo.
Only valid issues you brought up.

Wasn't expecting this bitch to be that goddamn evil.

Considering how soft the game was until that point it really came out of left field.

I don't care how shitty it is I'm taking this little fucker all the way to the elite four.

Repping the Salazzle, Loving the shit out of her. Automatically learns Nasty Plot at some point, for extra nasty damage. Typing makes it so you can take out just about everything in the game with little trouble, and for what you can't, it pretty much starts out with dragon rage, then learns dragon pulse later.

Shit dude, didn't you get how sexual the last part of mallow's trial was?

And then all those pokedex entries where it's fully acknowledged humans and pokemon EAT pokemon? And how if you get stung by a tentacool it's practically death if you dont get to a hospital immediately?

Don't get fooled by its charmy looks, Sun and Moon are they darkest games so far really.

Also as far as I understand it, she's gone wonky because of some sort of venom from UB-01, the jellyfish. I haven't completely gone through post game yet though so I don't know.

So she had a bad trip and never recovered from it.

Her husband has also gone AWOL and despite you meeting him the reason for him abandoning his family is never explained.

He fell through Ultra Space and lost his memory, just like Anabel.

That was pretty funny.

Acerola did not get enough screen time.

I've only just beaten the first island challenge, but do all the fucking opponent trainers only have 1 pokemon? I'd rather the trainers have at least 2 or 3, make it more of a fucking challenge.

Yes, this very much. The waifu action in this game is big league!

They won't start regularly having 2-3 until after the third grand trial.

I'd complain but it'd be a waste of breath.

I hate this very much.

Just how lewd is pixiv with this new pokemon?

You need to fuck off, you stupid faggot. Nothing makes up for the sheer amount of shit plaguing the region itself or the atrocious slowness.
