It is an okay game. An improvement over the train wreck that gen 6 was. It is okay and certain battles can fuck you up if you are unprepared or under leveled. It is Pokémon so the core gameplay is good. The totem battles and trials are fun. The issues I have with it are mostly technical. Double battles suffer from massive lag and this is in game. The game is super cut scene heavy and very handhold-y. The characters are good, for the most part. The removal of the PSS was a mistake, the plaza makes Player to Player interaction more convoluted and it is less intuitive but the facilities it offers help a lot with training. Ultimately, the game is okay. If you enjoy Pokémon I see nothing particularly wrong with it. I would say it is an 8/10. Not the best Pokémon can offer (that would be Emerald, Platinum and BW2 or PMD in general) but it is good enough. I think you should try pirating it first (if possible) and see for yourself.

So Lyn wants to go see her still alive grandfather and along the way recruit a few people to help her. Hausen though is being poised by his brother Lundgren for the throne, so it's a race against time for Lyn to meet her grandfather.

Lyn's story is short compared to Eliwood or Hector's but it's still touching. She shows up again in those stories as well shortly after the beginning.

Lyn's good just because of how caring she is. She doesn't like to fight if she can avoid it but she will punish people who harm people she cares about.
She also has a habit of looking at the camera and addressing the player when talking to "Mark," So she's essentially talking straight to you.

Not exactly sure what everyone hated it for. It's exactly what you expected really, Skyrim 2277 really. The weird thing is they added this Roguelike type infinite levelling and "Legendary Spawns" that drop loot with random affixes. So its bizarre in that way.

So I just injected HA Feraligatr, Serperior, and Mamoswine because fuck waiting for the bank.

It's the lack of RPG elements for one. No dialogue box, only 4 choices now. Voiced protagonist, levelling boiled down to a simple form.

It may have improved the shooting from Fo3 but it stripped away everything else. It looks like a Fallout game but it doesn't feel like one.

The thing is, there is a lot of work that was put into Fallout 4. The "Minecraft" system, AI - cover, maps, textures, voice acting, and the under the hood engine stuff.

But as you can see, the entire mindset was around attracting the big demographics. They have no interest attempting to please people who might appreciate branching conversation paths and consequences or unscripted AI reactions.

To them, we are the niche audience, because quite frankly, the average video game consumer has no idea and probably doesn't even care about those sorts of things.

In fact the biggest group out of us are probably the modders. And they require the bare minimum to be pleased because they do all the work.

The Best Gamers did a solid review on Fallout 4, pretty much showing all the shit that's wrong with it.

IV isn't very good. Early game is pretty much completely luck based, the overworld isn't laid out very well, it's heavily law biased, the smirk system is retarded, and all in all it just drags on and on. I'm at the endgame but I haven't summoned the will to power through the mountain of side quests to get the ending for the route I'm on, nor do I want to back up to the final decision point to try for another route.
I've heard Apocalypse fixes a lot of the issues, so maybe look into how viable skipping IV and going straight to that game is.

Don't know the last time I've actually watched them, figure I'll get the highlights/cancer moments from the inevitable thread at least.

Saw our good friend Al Gore being super cereal again. He never learns does he? But it's good to see justice brought upon him.

I wasn't anticipating that fight being harder than it actually was. Even with my pokemon being levels higher than most trainers during those trials due to me trying to get my munchlax to evolve, that fight turned out to be the toughest fight I've had so far (didn't help that my starter was Rowlett). I ended up beating lurantis with a long game strategy (well more like being tenacious as hell and not giving up. Having Celtic ancestry helps with that) by using my snorlax to kill the castfoam and after weakening the trumbeak then switched back my dartrix to finish it off.

Gotta say, I'm liking the world, pokemon, and Team Skull shenanigans so far (only made it to route 10 so far), but I hate the handholding and the constant cutscenes, as well as how the game forces you to stay on the proper path. Other than that I like the changes they've made (and I can't get the fucking team skull theme out of my head HELP ME!) and looking forward to seeing what else it has in store.

Love that game. A shitton of fun (though I will admit it does lose it's challenge once you reach a certain level and have good enough gear). I actually tried playing that game with Jack-O as my partner. The only class I could give her that was as close as possible to who she was was sorcerer, so I went with a fire/things that go boom sorcerer build.

As for this part, I went with Strider initially, then assassin, then ended with Magick Archer (while occasionally going warrior to get my Berserk fix in and how fucking awesome it feels cleaving big monsters with one ultra strike), to keep the enemies off of her as she summoned the meteors, earthquakes, and twisters. We kicked so much ass in that game. Though I wished they'd added a hand-to-hand combat class as Yangbro mentioned here

Despite the fuckup there, I completely agree.

It still remains one of the mysteries of life in the pokemon world to this day…

DeSu's pretty good for an SRPG spin off. Assuming you're talking about the first one, it really nails the end of the world survival atmosphere and has a pretty good cast of characters. Even makes the Law side decent for once, not that you wouldn't go full chaos anyway. I would say to go for Overclocked if possible due to updated features+extended scenarios, but the normal DS one should be fine.

SOS battle. And along with it, a Relaxed nature with 31 IV's in all stats but Speed. I've never gotten a competitive in the wild ever. And it's one of the few pokemon that doesn't need egg moves too. It's my MVP pokemon, probably my 2nd favorite gen 7 pokemon.

I tend to find more shinies in romhacks then in the real games for some reason. Hell, back when I was into the modding scene I found a shiny Gastly in a Crystal romhack I was testing.

Yeah, there are hidden sidequests. You'll need to talk to the NPCs to start them. They go towards the chapter grade too. Feels good to have them all S ranked.

It should be noted SOS battles also increase the IV's of helper pokemon, with 4 IV's being max. I just good that extremely good shot in the dark with shiniest and IV's. Plus Araquanid is a defensive and offensive monster that works in trick room as well.

Lucky bastard! Though I did manage to run in (or hook rather) a shiny Magikarp that's fairly OK as a good water pokemon to get me through the story, but not as a competitive one. Knowing my luck, I'll only run into non-good shinies if I even run into another shiny at all. Good on ya though and godspeed on training it and kicking ass with it.

Most likely the reason I have bad luck with shinies is due to getting a good shiny rayquaza in SS. Never going to get that lucky ever again

I've caught quite a few competitive wild pokemon thanks to the SoS battle system. But the Araquanid is the only wild competitive shiny I've caught. Also helps that most of them don't really need anything other than TM's and their move pools.
