How would Holla Forums make a game famous?

Not what type of game would you make(even though that can apply to this question), but what would you do to make it best selling?

Shock and Awe marketing campaign
If the game actually lives up to the marketing is a different matter

Lots of marketing that pulls attention away from the game's bad qualities and heavily pronounces the good qualities.

You know, like modern AAA marketing.

Just make game characters with potential for sexualization. Something for the weebcucks, something for the furfags, an aryanqt here and there for the main audience and a big fat dike for the special snowflake money.
Then make the marketing based on that.
You get the idea.

Make it good
No DLC
No pre-order campaign shit like Deus Ex
No Collector's editions without the game in them
No day one DLC
PC version launched the same day, if not sooner than console version
PC version exhaustively QA'd to ensure smooth launch without the need for numerous day-one patches
COMPRESS THE FUCKING AUDIO FILES (to save install space)
Hire writers who don't think pop culture references and memes from 5 years ago are the height of wit and humor
Discount all digital versions
Utilize word of mouth advertising, facilitated by producing a regular amount of actual gameplay footage – No cutscene trailers
Answer any and all questions about the game honestly, not allowing mystery and hype to control the public image of the game

And probably some other shit to. Doesn't even matter what kind of game it is, as long as you can do all that shit right.

Controversy

I'm gonna need some explanation on how it's possible to jizz that much.

I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to say it

Jesus Christ what's with the gay porn webms surge lately?
I mean at least keep it cueboyish

Either make the game so good that people will actually play it, or so bad that people will meme on it.

He injected some weird lube thing into his wiener and then when he came, the muscle movements pushed it out, then he pees the rest.
polite sage

What type of famous you want fam? Famous among v? Famous among normalfags? Infamous? What you want fam?

I would advertise a dating simulator as very pro-LGBT with a focus on strong female characters so the shitty game journo sites and progressive "gamers" do all the advertising for me. I would actually deliver a simulator that involves dating and/or fucking lesbian waifus and lolis. If said people complain about the game's content I just call them homophobic or mysogynistic.

Almost as bad as sticking worms up your dick.

Damn. I thought it was part of the holy cum grail or something.

I need the sauce. Please. So bad

So like I said in my first post which nobody read because they were thinking about dicks. It's all about what can satisfy the D of different folks. That's what will sell your game easily. Like Overwatch's marketing. Which is heavily based on the D.

not by being original. tons of often sexy characters with designs inspired by a wide variety of things that might be familiar to potential customers.
essentially, the league of legends approach.

I'm calling bullshit. You could only hold as much fake cum as what fits inside your urethra, which is like a straw and not a balloon. If you injected more than that amount, then it goes into your bladder and won't come out unless you pee. Nobody pees when they cum. Maybe he followed every single one of those advices on /d/ to get more cum, and didn't jerk off for a month or something.

I wonder how good that felt for the bottom horse.

in this day and age you riddle it with meme-bait and streamer-bait rather than just making it good

No he really injected himself, old trick

That can't be real, there is no way a human being can ejaculate that much.

I'd get youtubers to play advertiser versions of the game that offered 1 or 2 parts of the game for them to play.

Have it come with some nice reward shit for it like maybe a poster or promise of the full game when released.

But, I'd do it when the game is in development, and if they sign on keep offering them more promo shits, so as development is going I have these e celebs constantly reminding the goy that this game is being developed.

Then by the time it comes out a minimum of 1,000,000 people at least know about it because they saw their fav youtubers play the promo's of it.

Youtuber gets some content for their channel and their ad money.
I get the games name out there easy.
When it comes out it's not doomed to be ignored since people will buy it to be like their fav youtubers.

More.

With shills everywhere. Battlefield 1 paid them to post 'wow so ready for battlefield 1' all over pornhub

All I know is we need more art of her.

Who is this little lesbian and how tight is her pussy?

New Team girl from the new pokemon game.

Cartel edition.

Go back to marketing school, you fucking dipshit. We’re not doing your job for you.

make it good
shill it on reddit
add some waifus and memes

Why do people buy games?
Games that everyone seems to buy because everyone else is playing them. Slap a fuckton of meaningless awards on it and point to them when someone asks about it. This is also where CoD, Pokemon and other popular iterative franchises would go, because "everyone knows they're good".
Alternatively get everyone talking about it. People bought No Man's Sky because everyone was hyping it up, and they ignored the people saying the game would be shit because they wanted it to be good.
This is where reviews come in. "This guy I trust said the game is good, so it's good" is a reason for someone to buy a game. Doesn't have to be a reviewer either, this is how people get into games recommended by Holla Forums. Which also means that getting people to shill on imageboards or Reddit is a great way of making a game popular, because then marketers can advertise their game under the name of Holla Forums or Reddit
You've played video games before, so you know which ones you like. Perhaps it's a niche game that you don't see marketed often, like Rhythm Heaven.
Note that this is only as informed as the customer. Just because you like a game doesn't mean you'll like something similar. Sequels can be bad, or just different enough that you don't like them. The dev could go into some shitty microtransaction bullshit and ruin the game.
Make characters which are easy to draw. Now you'll have an influx of rabid fans making their own OCs. Alternatively make pornable characters so that they draw lots of porn.
"This is the game the Pcucks don't want you to know about", "This game is way to hard for a casual like you", "Sorry, you're too much of a pussy for this horror game", "You're just too poor to afford this" and so on. Tell someone they can't eat shit and they'll do it to prove you wrong, or at least that's how it works in marketing. Deny a guy something and they'll want it more. It breeds elitism as well, meaning you'll have an army of fags defending you.

Buy advertising on media blogs like IGN, etc to encourage them to cover it. Advertise during demographic-appropriate popular TV broadcasts, whether that be sitcoms or college football. Do it relentlessly for 3 months preceding launch. Pay demographic-appropriate Youtubers to cover it in the month leading up to launch and the week after. Repeat this cycle annually until popular.

Now you know why marketing gets more budget than development.

Marketing
You market the shit out of it.
You get it plastered on popular snackfood.
You get a commercial deal with popular fastfood restaurants where the customers could "win big".

Without that the other rout is to make the game appealing to the dong-gargalers known as video game journalists.
To do this you make the game liberal pleasing and that means LGBTBBQROTFLOL, Race and Gender inclusive while devoid of almost any real challenge in the gameplay to make sure it isn't ableist also.
They will then throw accolade after accolade in an effort to make sure they're not on the wrong side of history.
And also gain good PR with their liberal click-bait biting audience.

I came here to post this.
You don't even need to design the characters a special way. Just draw a lot of porn of them and post it everywhere.

Fill a game with streamer bait and have some set-pieces just elaborate enough to make short-attention span audiences think they're dynamic content even though they're actually scripted as shit.

Astroturf with between 20 and 100 fake twitter, twitch, and youtube accounts PMs, comments, emails, and chat messages about how awesome the game is and how the e-celeb just has to play it. Target the top 3-5 youtube gaming e-celebs with this kind of spam for about a week. They're just as desperate for content as you are to sell the game. When one of them picks it up, countless imitators will follow.

well you have to make the characters attractive enough to make porn out of them, another reason why overwatch crushed battleborn so hard is gearbox can't into even making a generic waifu

Is this guy a Raita protagonist?

I'd just make the main protagonist a skeleton lich

Congratulations, you just ruined your company by appealing to the 1% and created a good game niche on its genre that was bought by few people who gladly gave their money to you

This is completely unrelated to anything, but why can't I post in some threads anymore? It just says "reply thread" at the top of any new ones I open.

And why is it only on Holla Forums?

Make an actual good game. Everything else comes afterwards including marketing. Games are now made based around marketing. It should and used to be the other way around.

I thought there was something wrong with my browser when the quick reply box wouldn't show up. I guess it's not just on my end.

1) make it's own share thread version
2) users must enjoy the game
3) Holla Forums users pioneer the game's first popular memes or create porn
4) bottom feeding scum on Holla Forums post these to both reddit and tumblr
5) it goes full circle when Holla Forums suddenly hates because it stopped being underrated/niche and other people enjoy it
