Type 89 is the Japanese baby of the M16 and AR-18. At the chance you don't know anything of the AR-18 it's a good and interesting gun popularized by the IRA but despite being a gun made entirely out of stamped parts it has more parts than the M16 and is crude. Overrated, overpriced, but still a nice gun if you really wanna spend the money on it (if you find it). Also had a big brother prototype for 7.62 NATO.

The Type 89 is a variant of the AR-180 and not the AR-15 due to the fact that Howa (the manufacturer) already had contracts for the AR-180. Not much is known about it since Japan doesn't get involved in conflicts and they're not allowed to export their firearms.

alright real talk, how would you fix IQ and chanka. ubis idea of making IQ viable seems to just be adding more operators wit gadgets for IQ to detect (valkyrie, echo) and ubi would rather just make memes about chanka than fix him

Get rook for defense and always slap down armor the instant the round starts, it's a real easy way to contribute that doesn't require any skill or knowledge
Get Ash or Sledge on offense because they also have very easy to use tools or get IQ since she'll help you learn where all the cameras are on the maps
Put holographic sights on every gun except the Russian ones where you'll want reflex and shotguns which you don't really need to bother with a sight at all

like the other user said, IQ is good for learning where cameras are, once you know where camera are you can destroy them quickly with twitch during set up phase. mute is another good early pick, throw jammers near reinforce doors and windows fuze might attack to slow down the opposition, plus he has nitro for killing shields

I can't remember the last time I played Ash, Pulse, Bandit or Twitch.

The deploy-able shield guy. No matter how hard I try, I always end up getting C4ed the moment I use his expand shield skill so I just said fuck it to playing him. Also technically my least played are all of the DLC characters, because at 25K per person, it's going to be a while before I get one.

treat it more like an area denial device than a killing device, also since you can traverse the gas unharmed you can use it as a smoke cloud when entering a room. you can also use it to finish off wounded enemies and hurt anyone trying to revive them

Tachanka can't really be buffed without taking him back to the drawing board. The peeker's advantage, how easy it is to gather intel with drones/sound cues and the LMG making for a stationary target that's vulnerable to grenades and how valuable other defenders gadgets are overshadows Lord Tachanka.

I'd count Pulse not screaming at the top of his lungs every time he uses his monitor to be a buff. Also, the dev's did reduce the recoil on Buck's M4 which was nice.

frost is balanced to roam or camp, but i prefer to use her as a roamer since you can use her traps to bait people into saving their teammates and get double kills

also super-90 is a savage shotgun if you can catch a good flank

If you want a new attacker get blackbeard, hes fun to play cause you can usually shit on the enemy team. for a defender, echo is fun but only with the shotgun, the MP5SD doesnt do a lot of damage so its pretty much a headshot only weapon. Also if you use echos drone the entire match people get pissed off unless your actually useful with it. Frost is pretty solid, the Sterling has low recoil and decent damage making it easy to headshot people

i've grown a strong liking to buck over blackbeard, they're both the most "straightforward" dlc attackers but bucks ability to shake up an area between his skeleton key and having frags is excellent, and his guns are fun

i have a hard time controlling the C8 but being able to blast holes everywhere really disorients the enemy

I don't have any gameplay videos, but you can find some easy on youtube. It's a slow paced shooter. Each character has a gadget, an armor value, and a speed value. Armor and speed range from 1-3, so it's pretty simple, and doesn't affect much. Most of the combat is about getting corner shots and being able to peek without getting your brain smeared on a wall, because head shots with any weapon are an instant kill no matter what. The importance of each characters gadget tends to vary, as for some like Pulse is a camera that shows the enemy position in a short range and is an active ability, whereas Mute just deploys a jammer and leaves it. The matches are 5v5 and is displays who's dead and what not with a CS:GO like HUD. The matches have 3 types, territory control where you must secure a small area from the defenders, bomb defusing where there are two bombs which must be defused, and hostage extraction where a hostage must be extracted to anywhere outside. As for content, it's not too grindy until you reach for a DLC op or cosmetics, as those are very expensive, but operators in the base game are fairly cheap, and weapon attachments are as well. Most content is in the online, but ranked is still in beta, and as for offline there are two game modes to choose from, terrorist hunt and situations. Situations are there for more of a tutorial rather than enjoyment, and give some good starting cash. Terrorist hunt is play against AI that are generic terrorists and not ops used in the multiplayer. You play an op, and can either go alone or have a team of five, and you can choose from hostage extraction, bomb defusing, defending an objective, or just killing all the terrorists.I would say get it from a third party site, for anything less than $20.

That's the main thing about Siege that a lot of new players don't get. It's all about information gathering and then breaching.

I feel like if I tried to do that though I'd end up staring at my drone's camera too long before getting lit the fuck up.

Generally I have the opposite problem, where I drone and check every single corner and make sure everything is clear and then the second I move someone roams into a spot I checked and I get shot in the side of the head.

the most SJW thing is probably the fact there are female operators, IQ, Ash, Twitch, Valkyrie, Frost, Caveira, and Hibana. for the most part they wear similar tac-gear to their male counterparts (there are far more male operators than female ones). since there isn't much banter between the operators there isn't any SJW-writing going on, but you could argue that valk is SJW-bait because of her splash art (pic related) but her in game model looks like my ballsack and isn't pretty like her splash art

i do find it annoying that most of the female ops have painted nails you can see from first person, the only character i can excuse for that is IQ since her male gsg-9 counterparts also have casual clothing underneath their gear. and when they gave twitch's character model a facelift they gave her lipstick or just lips that are way too red, since her new splash art doesn't have lipstick

i'd be more worried about ubisoft fucking up balance or throwing way more paid cosmetics in that game than going full SJW to completely honest, i'm willing to chalk up the female ops being in the game just trying to add character/model variety, since the character models are actually unique. characters like sledge and montagne are significantly larger and bulkier than female ops or guys like bandit or mute

I loved the originals, but there isn't another game on the market that has the novelty of destruction that siege has. It may have its flaws, but nothing out there comes close to it.

what do you think about maybe ubisoft adding more of a penalty to defenders running outside then just a little slap on the wrist? in the types of situations in the game wouldnt there be snipers posted all around the building to stop that sort of thing? maybe its just me but i think they should do something that makes defenders not want to go outside

that's a tough call, because there are situations where being able to go outside has been crucial, but the range should probably be limited and maybe make the detection instant instead of 2 seconds

Defenders going outside is already a pretty high risk situation.

Once you get a couple hundred hours and play at the plat+ level you don't see it too much since going outside usually has you getting fucked in the face from range by someone with an ACOG rifle, a claymore waiting under the common jump out windows, or a blackbeard waiting for someone stupid enough to come out that window.

The issue with that would be when you have attackers set up outside windows to defend a defuser, if the punishment for going outside is too harsh it becomes basically impossible to win then.

That's true, but I'd rather the way it is now than have the defenders be forced to turtle in their kill box.

I think the biggest problem is the maps aren't designed to be balanced with defenders being confined to the building.

If the defenders can't come outside without dying, multiple rooms become completely undefendable against attackers just camping outside a window and locking the room down.

You also have to understand that they've been playing so god damn long that they intuitively KNOW when it's safe for them to jump outside.

Combine that with them cutting their gameplay to only the successful stuff for the youtube video means they look even better than they already are.

I actually played a game where we were matched up against serenity and shit on him and his team, and the only part of the match that made it into his next video was him catching a good flank on me and one-tap headshotting me during the one round his team won.

That's because they're really good at the game so they know when its safe to go outside and when it isn't. I've been in plenty of games when someone tries to get a spawnkill and the instant they pop a window they get lit up and either killed or forced to fall back.

yeah, that's why it works well on IQ since their GSG-9 team all have a design like they got called in to a situation on a casual day, so they all have jeans and sneakers and stuff on.

Yeah, like I said on many maps the defenders need to be able to jump out and kill attackers who are outside the building pressuring a room.

In the pro scene it's much more common because on some of the maps, the most defendable bomb sites have exterior windows that can only be flanked from outside, so you'll commonly see those flanks later into the round when there aren't enough team members left alive to watch the flanks or they don't have the drones or intel on the enemies to expect the flank.

It's something that you learn to appreciate and counter as you get more experience with the game.

There's alot of nuance to learn about how the maps work, and lots of lessons to learn about how teams should coordinate, when you need to drone and what common spots to flank or angles to hold on entrances are so you can expect your enemies and counter their moves.

Honestly, one of the most frustrating things for me is playing against new players because they do things that are so stupid that they catch you off-guard and kill you because they're in places that no one would ever be in.

taiko room is the dirtiest hiding spot, if you board one of the doorways into it you can hear anyone coming from your blind spot, and then you have two routes out, on top of being able to shoot people coming into the reception or the little garden room next to it

the real problem is that you and you team can play as tactically as you want, but the enemy team probably wont care and youll get spawn killed or have people roaming all over the place ready to drop on you. but the more friends you have playing it the funner it gets, at least thats how it is for me

Caveira has a SPAS-15 which is the SPAS-12 perfected and an Italian SMG that's accurate with a low rate of fire, the MP5SD looks cool but isn't good.

if you like to roam cav is a better choice, to play echo well you need to have some one watching your ass and be very vocal about what you're seeing and what you're doing with yokai so your teammates can get kills after you hit some suckers with the ultrasound

protect hostage sucks in thunt cuz you get forced into camping and waiting, classic is fun because its a good way to practice weapons though

There's a lot of really fucking stupid assholes in the game for some reason, a few days ago a guy playing Doc tried to votekick me because he missed a dart trying to heal me. All I did was turning around on the spot to look towards someone breaching a wall behind him who then blew his brains out about a second later while he was standing in the open reloading his dart gun.

Holy shit what a win streak, I flawlessed like three games in a row.
