NoVidya

I don't know guys, but it seems to me that Nvidia might actually be run by Jews.

I wanted to upgrade, now I'm triggered.

so buy a 380 or wait for HMB 2nd gen to come out

I hope they don't plan to release those in 3 years or something. This gen is almost worthless.

You're just realizing this now?

Buying anything less than a 1070 is a waste of money.

Great way of wasting your pennies, poorfag. 1080 or just use integrated.

Building and maintaining a PC is an investment, OP. It's not like walking into an electronics store and buying new headphones for $80.

Videogames have never been a poverty hobby. In fact it was better when poor people couldn' t afford them . I miss the Snes and Nes times when all games had prices equivalent to $100 usd

Is the 1050 Ti a good upgrade from a 660 Ti?

Whats the point of just video game name and fps.
If its shit like w3 with hairworks or dxmd with msaa its meaningless since people will never use those options without a 700$ card.

oh ya dont say. share more of your wisdom with us

I've got a watercooled 1080, actually. I use it for rabi ribi, dwarf fortress, emulating DS games, and shitposting.
I am bad with money.

go make 3d rendered porn

You do realize the r9 380 is a 200-250 dollar card. And the 1050ti is a 150 dollar card right?

That's not apples to apples you faggot.

The 1060 is the apples to apples comparison to the r9 380.

And if you're really going to cry fucking tears like this over a 40-50 dollar price point difference bringing such a big jump in performance then it's clear you're not someone who's built computers before.

The 1050ti is meant to be the most bargain bin kind of card Nvidia offers. (Also, look at those fps counts, and then compare that shit to something like a console, which would cost twice as much. It's about the same fps (30~) at 1080p (which is really just 720p being upscaled half the time)

tl;dr - stop being an ignorant faggot and spend the slight amount of money more to get a 1060. Which is the equivalent of a fucking 980 from just two years ago.

Because of HBM and the die shrink the 1000 series had around a 90% performance jump in a single card gen.

Sort of. In some cases it would be faster. But generally speaking the xx50 series bargain bin gpus. comparing an xx60 card to a xx50 card is usually a bad plan.

Integrated is fine. It's not like there is anything worth playing that doesn't run on a mobile processor these days.

Seriously, what the fuck is even the point of those ultra settings? It's getting even worse now since I have trouble telling medium and ultra apart with some games.

You're all fucking stupid

I'm not one to call people plebs about not giving a shit about having absolute max settings…

But there's a lot of games that if you can't see the difference between medium and ultra settings I'd consider going to an optometrist, user.

If you don't turn shit off like motion blur, post-AA, film grain, chromatic aberration, etc. you won't be able to tell the difference as the grabbix get buried under a mountain of shit.

"Unless you drop 69 gorillion megabux"

I just noticed that line. Mother fucker it's a 40-50 dollar difference between a 1050ti and a 1060.

...

I said 'some' for a reason, user.

I turn all of those off ASAP, especially the abhorrent blur filter they call AA.

To sell graphics cards and that's it. Even funnier considering most games look way better when you turn off all the stupid filters and shit. It's so nice actually being able to tell what the fuck I'm supposed to be looking at for a change.

There's one up on Newegg for $150 right now.

The 380 is a generation old. It compares to the 960.

A console comes with a case, PSU, CPU, mobo, hard drive, and disk drive.

No cards in the 10xx series use HBM. The 1080 was a 30% improvement over the 980ti, not 90%.

If your current setup runs games fine there's no need. Just wait until the cards you want become dirt cheap and upgrade then.
I space my upgrades apart so much that the only thing the upgrade has in common with the original is the case. I'm sure my R9 280X will carry me into the mid 2020's just fine.

What's a good 6pin gpu? Or would a 6pin to 8pin adapter not be horrible? PSU only has a 6pin.

my GTX 560 Ti could probably run all those games better

Supposedly it's fine, it just makes me feel really uneasy.

RX 480 is like 250 smackers. It's pretty reasonable compared to the motherfucking TITAN X. Just whore yourself out on craigslist, someone will pay you for your cock sucking services.

I've recently built a PC for media consumption around an x4 845 and a Windforce rx 460.
Here's an approximation of said build: pcpartpicker.com/list/4MQGxY
I can play contemporary games (The Witcher 3, Shadow Warrior 2) in FHD at high settings with acceptable framerates (~30 for TW3, 40+ for SW2).
If you don't care too much about the versatility the platform offers, and want an "assertion" that your setup can handle new and upcoming titles, I recommend getting a console. The PS4 (slim) is available for 259 bucks currently, though I'd add a markup of 150 bucks over three years - estimate - for using their online services.
Pursuing a hobby is an investment of both time and money. Disregarding dubious conduct on the part of the industry and the pursuit of optimising acquisitions aside, if you are unwilling to spend either for the sake of your hobby, you might want to reconsider your interests.

Eh

buy AMD and support ISIS

...

Pc gamers havent needed to upgrade since 2008 or so, there is nothing pushing hardware other than the 4k meme

I fucking hate technology.

I upgraded to a 760 from a 6950, if you live down under where we lost the emu war I could send it to you.

...

Not bad and I never ended up spending that much money when I think about it. Maybe $2000 altogether since 2012?
Think I have to replace my SATA cables now though. Since every now and then, my computer either freezes, BSODs or has artifacts after a week of use. And then it won't detect the hard drive unless I unplug the cables and plug them back in where they belong.

Kind of frustrating, since I use my computer for a lot of things other than vidya, watching videos and movies.
But I really hope just replacing these SATA cables that keep coming loose, that I'll actually solve the problem finally. Unless my dumbass is overlooking something? I just want to use my computer in peace.

Except for the part where the 1050ti goes toe to toe with the 680/770/960

There's always a catch, isn't there.

How do I update the bios on a gigabyte motherboard without a floppy drive?

I got a new graphics card and it wouldn't run in my machine, but it will run in another machine. Best the internet can figure out is it's a bios issue

reapply the thermal paste, it might help with your temps

I have an old lga775 mobo and even I can update with a thumbdrive and even an sd card, your mobo should have an utility like that

AHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA Fuck off nvidia shill

Just get an r9 390

What? You plop the graphics card in with a decent enough PSU and you are done.

also, if you are looking to buy a gpu you should really consider waiting the first trimester of 2017 for amd to drop the big guns. at best you'll get a better card at worst mr telemetry, forced gfe(coming soon ™ if you want updates), gimpworks, gsync and 3.5gb will be forced to drop their price even if only a little. So you should wait a couple of months.

Go be a retard someplace else.
