I played this game at a con in Norway. It was mediocre, and I broke the demo in about 5 minutes.

Its a decent game with some bice pixel art.
Dont expect much more than that.

That looks like regular cartoon person nose, and probably represent beaks on the characters in leau of actual beaks. They actually have a reason to be like that, where a tumblr nose is just red/whatever color for no good reason.

Haven't given it a shot yet. Its by those guys that made Savant which was fun but the soundtrack was dubstep garbage. But its selling well it seems so I wouldn't count on it.

It's abut 6-8 hours long, you only get three abilities and every time you die your health is restored, removing all tension from boss fights and no reason to tippytoe around without getting hit.

The pros are fantastic music and really nice set pieces, the final boss is also good fun where you have to use all abilities in unison. If you've played Ori and Blind Forest, they have a lot in common - short metroidvania-like where your new discovered abilities won't give you much at all to explore, just to get to the next area.

All in all worth a play if not buy.

It's shit. I spent two hours with it and it was piss easy and pointless. It might get better later, but as far as i am concerned the game is another hipster "retro art" gallery that doesn't give a shit to entertain the player and only uses the gameplay to wank at itself.

It's from 4cuck's /agdg/, the glowy thing in the background is the agdg logo. There's a good chance the project isn't alive anymore, and an even better chance that it won't be finished if it is. Maybe they'll post a demo in demo day itch.io/jam/agdg-demo-day-11

Like other anons in this thread said, the Tumblr nose immediately made me ignore it. Usually a sign that the dev isn't fully mentally developed. Would be glad to be proven wrong though.

spelunky is pretty awesome and you play as a tomato nosed egghead, i dont know how "mentally developed" the guy behind that is, but its a great game i still pick up now and then

Spelunky and Dustforce are exceptions that prove the rule. 2 outta millions of tumblr nosed games worth something. Owlboy is not such an exception unfortunately.

As I said in another thread it's ok for one or two characters from the entire cast to have big fat red nose, especially if it's justified.
In owlboy EVERY character, bird or not, has huge fucking tumblr nose.

Fenix Rage had infinite jumping and that game was really enjoyable. Owlboy just sucks fuck for not actually making challenging levels around the flight.
