Titanfall already below 10,000 players and falling

Titanfall already below 10,000 players and falling

They tried every con they could, even down to "no season pass, surely theres no microtransactions goyim!" and its still bombing.

Is the mainstream dudebro contingent and 13 year old "but mom i need it nooooow!" audience that play these shooters finally moving onto something else?

Source?

No
Is why the game is failing, not the fact that casuals are moving to other genres. There are still people who have been looking forward to Titanfall 2 and don't know the game came out several days ago.

I haven't seen a single Titanfall 2 ad
They're not marketing it nearly as hard as they did with the first one

Wait, when did Titanfall 2 came out?

Honestly the worst part is that it's actually a good game made by a dedicated team with a vision that corporate meddling didn't affect (unlike BF1 which is basically an executive's game)

Hell, the no season pass thing and free DLC for everyone with Titanfall 2 was announced much before release, they're not doing it because it's fucked in sales.

It came out a few days ago. EA really fucked up by deciding not to market it at all, especially since Battlefield Wan overshadowed it.

It's sad in a way

It did and its sold less than the first game did.

Yknow, the exclusive xbone title.

The sad thing is that this is probably the best AAA title all year. Not a great accomplishment for sure, but still.

I actually love the damn thing, but fuck if they didn't mismanage the marketing.

The titans are the worst part of the first game. The shooting and parkour were a lot of fun. The maps were too big though and the titans were pointless from a mechanic standpoint.

Bullshit, they fucked up the Titans and netcode in this one.

I didn't even know there was a titanfall 2

Not enough bonding with the mecha in the campaign. The campaign can be completed as quick as four hours. What you're left with is pretty much the same multiplayer from the last game but with an added grappling hook. Feels like a patched Titanfall than an actual sequel to the first game. Would have been better if they had more customization to the mecha instead of just these set types, trying to be Overwatch.

They did advertise it though, and it's the only reason I know this game exists

EA released it in between the two biggest shooters of the year. They're trying to kill Respawn.

There are some people that don't think that's the case because EA themselves apparently had good expectations, and had to adjust some things with their records or something after it bombed, which means they probably assumed BF1 and Titanfall 2 had different enough audiences, or thought it could compete with Infinite Warfare since the initial reaction for the IW reveal was negative as all fuck.

No customization is bullshit but the gameplay overall is pretty solid. Tried the open multiplayer beta and its pretty decent fast paced shooter. But still, there's so many things they should fix to make it worth $60 dollar. I rather wait for a sale to get it though, just hope the community still alive by the time I get it

That's probably exactly what happened. It's infuriating since from what it seems it seems like actual effort at least went into it, and they basically killed it.

Releasing it between CoD and BF releases was fucking stupid I'm not surprised it's failing as a result. They should've waited till Christmas, early 2017, or summer of 2017.

I've only heard of Titanfall 2 because of that hyper animator guy who was working on it.

I hope he doesn't kill himself out of the shame due to poor receptions.

they are playing battlefield 1 you retard
normalfags will never stop being retarded

It would appear to be the case.

They'll force the guys in Respawn to move to Sweden and become EA Respawn-DICE.

Who?

Wow, they are moving on to the next new thing. Big surprise. That's the whole point.

Publishers want to sell games/subscriptions/DLC, they don't care if you play the fucking game.

This is by far the best AAA shooter and mech game to come out in the last year. I don't mind spending money for non-shit games.

EA being EA as usual

EA didn't owned Respawn studio IIRC, they just published the game

This shouldn't be a cause for celebration.
Let me explain:

There's currently two titles EA shat out, Titanfall 2, and the new Battlefield.
We can discuss the objective value of each of these titles all day, but this is Holla Forums, i don't expect much more than screaming apes and shitflinging, instead let's agree on something simpler.
Between these two titles, Titanfall 2 is the better game, even if you hate both.
Between the two, Titanfall 2 promotes more freedom of movement, and has faster paced action.
So what is happening here is that not only are casuals not leaving the genre, they're actually purchasing even MORE boring and half assed games and deliberately ignoring a better game PUT OUT BY THE SAME COMPANY, because the other game had better marketing and a more recognizable name.

I'm trying to put this into terms Holla Forums can understand and kinda struggling.
Basically two wrongs don't make a right.
Regardless if you hate both games or not, this is bad news for you, and the entire FPS genre in general.

EA is trying to sabotage the game. Battlfield is EA first party product, Titanfall is owned by Respawn

Well yeah, probably.
Honestly they're already sabotaging every single game they're putting out by confining them to Origin on PC.
EA is just kinda dumb in general, they're so greedy it leads them to make dumb decisions that end up in them making LESS money that they would otherwise.

...

no shit, sherlock

Why are people saying this game is good all of a sudden?
I played the beta and it was the same fucking shit. There was no improvement whatsoever.
Unless they changed something overnight, I don't see how it's a better game.

hyper is an animation specialist. He used to be in college studying animation in game design when a year ago after he graduated he was hired by Respawn.

Before he got hired he made reloading animations for Insurgency, and silly reload animations by request. Check out his stuff, he makes good shit.

Am I not allowed to have an opinion? I never played the first one but this one have an open beta so I have a chance to play it. Its a good shooter but by all means not a perfect one. I wouldn't buy or recommend this at full price, even then, this game still better than BF1 or CoD or any shooter release this year.

The campaign is decent, there's lots of new guns, Respawn is pushing out balancing patches, and all the DLC is free. If you didn't like the first one, then chances are you won't like the second.

it was stupid to release it after battlefield black one and only a few weeks before carl on duty

Call it a hunch, but I think EA wants to destroy Respawn due to the devs.

These guys are ex-Infinity Ward, AKA the guys who made CoD 4. They aren't going to just bow down to their EA overlords and lube up like the other EA devs. They push for what they want, hence one of the reasons Activision cut them loose after MW2. In an interview with PC Gamer Respawn said the launch date for Titanfall 2 was out of their control, and they didn't want it out right after Dindufield and IW came out. EA forced this release date so they could destroy Titanfall 2's own success, and therefore use it as an excuse to axe the studio.

They aren't marketing the game at all outside of Doritos and Mountain Dew. Hell, ask any normalfag if they knew the game was out right now. If they say yes, ask them if they knew that all the DLC was gonna be free. Chances are if they didn't say no to the first question, they'll say no to the second one. Literally the only selling point they're pushing for TF2 is "It's now on PS4" and "It has a single player campaign." That's literally it.

tl;dr

EA wanted to sabotage Titanfall 2's sales on purpose so they would have an excuse to get rid of the ex-Infinity Ward guys since they're not giving the EA suits what they want.

They made a deal with the devil, just ask Westwood, Pandemic, and Origins, some of them got intentionally fucked so they can steal their IPs and devs to move to their studios.

Wait, hyper actually worked on Titanfall?

Source?

Can't tell you as we don't know his real name. He does work at Respawn though, and some of the reload animations in Titanfall 2 fit his over the top style.

Go to 1:09 where he mentioned he got hired by Respawn.

Perhaps if they put the game on Steam they would I don't know, get some sales! Origins and EA's obsession with exclusivity with it is doing more to kill that company that us not buying their games.

The last good multiplayer FPS was Bad Company 2. The genre is long dead, and it's not coming back user.

...

Wait Titanfall 2?
There is now 2 of these pieces of shit?

This game is being shilled to fuck on reddit & imgur. every other post is by a no-name / anonymous account saying "Wow. I bought titanfall 2 and it's already awesome", im glad this bullshit bombed

no, ea just sabotaged it because it isnt their ip

Yeah the only reason titanfall is doing bad is that EA does the dumbest fucking thing they could do every time they make a decision. If they put titanfall on steam or not release a directly competing game in the same week it would be doing much better.

they want it to fail, they are not "bad" at marketing

The only thing I care about Titanfall is that the sweet mech designs aren't featured in a proper mech sim, instead they are stuck in a shitty Call of Duty clone made by faggot developers that think mechs being mechs is an outdated notion and the only cool way to implement them is to make them behave exactly like the pilots, only bigger.

I don't give a flying fuck if the game fails and the developers go out of business.

You think if things get real bad they'll just drift to a new studio or something?

youtube.com/watch?v=Uqc3F2zemV8

He also has this video of some dudes at respawn playing some ping pong.

Who'd have thought that letting people who thought mechs suck design a mech game was a bad idea?

The only guy at respawn who thinks mechs suck is the marketing faggot who, by the way, got fired because he made that comment.

...

I don't see a single source in this thread. Why is everyone taking this shit at face value? Is it because it's a triple A game and as long as it's bad news you don't need to prove anything?

...

...

...

Then Respawn must be a bunch of idiots then. Didn't they leave EA after Allied Assault because EA didn't want them to make Russian/British campaigns? I understand that they needed another big company to help them win the lawsuit against Atvi but what were they thinking? At this point, even going to MS or Sony or Ubishit (especially if you think about how they handled the South Park games when THQ died) could have been a better idea. Zenimax and 2K are really terrible so that removes them from the picture.

I'm surprised most people here don't know the history of the developers.

Respawn was formed by members of Infinity Ward after Activision decided 'fuck you guys because legal reasons' while Activision themselves likely did potentially more illegal things.

The part I'm getting at is that Infinity Ward was created from the developers of Medal of Honor games. Yes, the guys who worked on Medal of Honor jumped ship from EA the same way they jumped ship from Activision.

I wouldn't be surprised if that has a lot to do with it.

I hate that loli, she has no right to be so smug after breaking that Teacup.

I always thought the smile was a bitter one of resignation, she's basically thinking "Fuck my life".

Maybe people just don't give a shit about shitty games, have you ever thought about that.

Who is this smug little bitch and where do I find her

I saw absolutely no marketing of the game and it was released at the worst possible time, right between BF2 and CoD. I recall some user said this was due to them pushing for no microtransactions, so EA set them up for failure. Maybe it's far fetched but it honestly wouldn't surprise me.

I had low expectations due to the first game being shit but gave it a try after a friend recommended it to me. It's actually pretty decent.
Inb4 shill.

Why are her hands so white

...

Why aren't yours?

lel

Poo in the loo.

WEW

Only the attrition mode, which was also the main mode of the first game and partly why it was so awful. The rest of the modes are good, especially last titan standing.

Not arguing Denuvo and Origin, though. Origin is causing so many problems with the lobbies it's unreal.

Valve centralizatiom is bad, EA centralization is pure cancer.
It gives you even less freedom than the fat kikes platform.

Like I said, I'm not disagreeing with you.

They gave it gimmick story, CoD roulette gameplay and reduced loadout choices. You could already tell that this game was mediocre back at E3.

what the fuck are you even saying

I think he's saying the three hours that they actually finished is decent. obviously that's not a selling point but it is different than '3 hour campaign that wouldn't be good even if it was finished'

In Google Images after typing "monobeno maid" there.

It's not the original pic, just a modified one with another smug.

I just don't understand this "unfinished" shit. Is it because every single thread and every single enemy isn't wrapped up nicely or dead by the end? And it's pretty fucking good if you can beat the game in 3 hours considering the speedrun record is 2 hours. I suppose if you play on easy and bunnyhop your way through the game it's possible for first playthrough.

They released between BF1 and COD.

Does it still have cartoony graphics?

No. It's on a new engine.

How are the player numbers for niggerfield?

I know cod will be great in terms of player numbers, but maybe 10,000 isn't so bad.

Also the last CoD had so many ideas from titanfall in it, they clearly rummaged through Infinity Wards old idea box to see what they could find.

I feel bad for the respawn guys, they are actually very good devs.

red chaika is lewd

His name is Ranon Sarono, according to his showcase videos.

CoD is actually doing terribly right now. Most people are waiting for Modern Warfare Remastered to be sold separately for they don't like the fact that IW is pretty much a copy of Advanced Warfare.

The player base is also not 10 000 if it wasn't completely clear that OP pulled numbers out of his ass. I was playing earlier today and PC had 9000 people playing. I imagine both Xbox and PS4 have more than that.

Actually your kind of right. Player numbers are lower than normal for an AAA release but they are actually on the increase. According to what a buddy told me; after /r/infinitewarfare who was strong to the idea that IW would be the game to save cod's decline, saw the recently added pay to win mechanics somebody in the thread suggested to "just play titanfall". And now theres a growing division of normalfags moving to populate titanfall 2 and the subreddit for it.

...

None of this matters anyways. No shooter will ever again be as stylish as lost planet 2.

...

I want to wreak vengeance on that ass

Why is she so perfect?

Polite sage for off topic

What exactly were they expecting to happen?

you mean a new publisher? theyll have that reputation for not wanting to kike super hard with dlc and such looming over their head, and theyll have the 'failure' attached to the titanfall ip. its possible and its reasonable but i wouldnt count on it. we dont live in a reasonable time.

I deserved this for buying the hype game, didn't I?

No, the reasons it's failing are:

Take those away and the game would've been a minor success.

Devs were told they needed to delay the game when they first started their beta. Players told them the game mechanics weren't ready, players told them that their release date was right next to other big titles and they were fucking themselves over.

Management went full retard and ignored their customers.

Other than that you just said what the other user said. Origin and denuvo are just the final nail in the coffin.

Origin is really bad.

Originally EA reserved the right to remove games you'd purchased if you hadn't played them for 2 years, this was the text in their EULA:

EA ran damage control after the fact, telling everyone that clause only existed for this reason:

Which translated into real language means: We reserve the right to remove games from your account after 2 years, we've simply re-stating this in slightly different language to point out that the EULA protects us taking games away from you because you agreed to let us take games away from you and we told mainstream media outlets to lie to you about what we actually mean. Fuck you.

If you check Origin customer support you'll hear a plethora of stories about games randomly disappearing from people's accounts. It's hard to tell where it's just incompetence, and where it's actual douchebaggery using incompetence to cover for actually screwing over customers.

I haven't checked Origin's current EULA - as far as I'm aware, they completely dropped the 2 year right to steal your legally purchased games from you, but the fact remains that they're a company who wanted to do something like that in the first place. Anyone buying Origin-only games is screwing themselves over.

You deserved it for buying a game based on what your friends wanted instead of what you wanted. Always look out for number one.

Let's break this down

For the good of us all, you're going to have to gas yourself.

He's the kind of guy that marketing / brainwashing works on; lost cause bud.

I'm betting EA is attempting a hostile takeover of Respawn Bethesda-style by making them release it right alongside BF1 and COD so that when the game fails the company goes under and EA can buy them and all their assets.

Was wondering why it failed. Seems like denuvo has become a curse for games to fail if they come with it. Shit, the only successful game I can think of with denuvo was MGSV, and it went out half finished.

kill yourself my man

Titanfall was part of a psy-op made by EA to saturate the "futuristic FPS" market so Call of Duty wouldn't sell much.

I don't believe the

not if this wakes him up

You know she did it on purpose, she knows what's coming. Something tells me that it's not the first time.

It's still a modified version of Source.

It's honestly insane how they've managed to get Source looking this good and running this well. Why can't Valve utilise Source this well anymore?

It's quite odd to think of a Source game being tied up on Origin, strange days. I assume it's not Source 2, right?

Because I assume it's using as much of Source as CoD is still using id Tech 3. Also Valve doesn't make games anymore, they just make peripherals and try to make up ways to get more and more money around video games without actually making them.

To do what? Like the user said before me, they don't seem to make games anymore.

The first one was running on a heavily modified version of Source. After playing the beta, I think it seems to be the same for Titanfall 2.
I'm quite surprised that they didn't use Frostbite for Titanfall 2. Maybe they aren't really part of EA.

...

Well, they probably just wanted to get the most out of their license for Source, probably a good choice financially.

Source 2 isn't put in anything but Dota 2, and it's also pretty unfinished there.

Turns out even AAA can't make profits with a mech game

Confirmed respawn.com/team

Name: RANON SARONO

His name is in the Titanfall 2 credits for first person animations.

I will cut you.

Source games in general run fairly well, and I'm surprised the minimum requirements seem to be more along the lines of running at 900p 60fps with at least some detail instead of being the bare minimum like most games.

This game would be cared for if not for two things:

THEY DIDN'T RESPECT THE ROBOT

&

EA WITH THEIR DUMB FUCKING ORIGIN SHIT

I would be playing this game if those two things weren't a factor.

But fellow user, I bought titanfall(tm) 2 and it's already awesome. Wow.

But user, that can't be true!

is there a gametype in titanfall 2 where it's just a 3v3 between humans on a small map?

...

I think there is a human v human only mode, but haven't tried it yet. The game is ok but still I kinda regret buying it btw

goddamn I hate this meme nigger

...

YOU ARE A FUCKING FAGGOT NIGGER AND YOU DESERVED TO BE FUCKING LYNCHED LIKE A FUCKING NIGGER, YOU FUCKING NIGGER LOVER

There's a 1v1 duel mode on a small flat map that has a buy-in and a Pilots vs Pilots mode that's 8v8.

Now that's an overreaction if I've ever seen one.

It had to fail.
Release it to GOG and it would have been a glaring success. You chose the wrong publisher, Respawn!

Gay.

well shit
