Body and clothing damage

I actually wished more games would do this. Post examples of clothing damage or battle scars in gameplay. This can be from gunshot wounds and bloodstained to characters becoming half naked at low health.

Everybody gets triggered as fuck by the game, but it really nailed things like the character getting progressively more torn up as things went on. It wasn't just clothes – his posture changed, his oneliners during combat changed, and the way he executed enemies changed.

Arkham Asylum had Batman's suit get more torn and damaged as the game went on.

First three that came to mind. I can't remember if Soul Calibur 3 & 5 did it, but I distinctly remember characters' armour being breakable in 4, including custom characters.

The Wonderful 101 even has the Vergil-esque rival character's outfit become more damaged as the game goes on to match the protagonists' outfits doing the same.

Akiba's Trip: Rip off clothes to kill vampires by exposing them to the sun
Prince of Persia: Protagonist's clothes get more torn up as the game progresses
Destructible anything needs to be more prevalent. I'm still waiting for the day to come when theres a game that lets you level every building in the level in a at least believable way. Think Rainbow Six: Siege but you can level the entire building if you happen to blow up all the main support beams.

Art of Fighting 1 and 2

Spec Ops: The Line, right? I still wanna play that game even though I've heard probably everything about it. I think it's interesting not only that the protag gets so worn down by war, but that they marketed it as a typical COD/Battlefield shooter.

So you never played EDF? Go grab 4.1 right now.

That was mostly down to the publisher rather than the developers themselves, I think. iirc, the devs didn't want to put multiplayer into the game at all, but the publishers eventually forced them to.

...

I loved the way the prince got more torn up and covered in wounds as the game went on along with his clothing getting ripped. I like seeing characters get more torn up as fights go on, it helps remind you of your journey so far and how much shit you have been fighting.

Bloodborne didn't have clothing destruction but you would get blood on your clothes and if you fought for long enough without resetting then you could eventually be completely covered in blood from head to toe.

I don't think that has what I'm talking about. I'm talking about aiming a rocket launcher at a house and the area caught in the blast radius collapses but the rest of the building stays up.
If EDF 4.1 actually has that, then I'll finally mount the iso and install it. If not, it can wait until I finish the other games I'm currently playing.

My favorite thing to do in soul calibur is giving my custom character a big as fuck purple afro, and then giving him a helm.
When the helm breaks, the purple surprise pops out.
I know it's dumb but sometimes i do stupid shit like that.

Sakura Dungeon

I don't think Oni had actual clothing damage, though.

Aren't you a special little cookie.

Oh hey, I remember Vindictus.
Did they make it less grindy?

Silent Storm had just that, but it's a turn-based top-down tactics game. It's also slav, which comes with all the bonuses like shit translation.

The original RE 2 demo had clothing damage.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

I wouldn't call it dumb at all, stuff like that is what makes Soul Calibur so memorable to me when compared to other fighting games. 5 was obviously at least a bit rushed, but I loved some of the additions they added to customisation, the little 'profile pictures' you could create to represent yourself in particular.

I created a skeleton, gave him a dark red turban and scarf, then made my online profile picture the skeleton sitting at a table with a teapot on it with his arms wide open, like he was inviting someone to tea. All that coupled with the unique Devil Jin moveset you could give to custom characters made for one of the most fun experiences I've had with any fighting game period, though I still prefer 3.

They changed how you make equipment, so in a way yes, but the enhancement system is still the same. New season is garbage though because there are mmo type mechanics and un-i-framable things.

sorry but no, you couldn't even destroy support beams in BC2. buildings would just play a crumbling animation after X amount of damage. hell most of the chunks you'd blow off buildings were pre-animated and had no physics

I know. Just posted the picture because I thought it looked cool.

...

Red Faction: Guerrilla is what you're lookin' for my bud. Or Armageddon, but I think that one was shittier maybe.

no i-frames
Wait what, did the game go through a massive overhaul gameplay-wise? I remember the game being all about abusing the i-frames in a fun DPS-fest. How do bosses work anymore? Is Evie now only a dedicated healer? Her scythe was fun as hell.

Batman Arkham Asylum and City do this very good. He gets more stubble on his face and his cape and armor get more fucked up the further you are in the game.

Pre-animated destruction is stupid. What's the point of blowing something up if it's going to play out the same way every time?

Red Faction: Guerilla did get it. But I wish destruction physics of that level were more common.

Me too, man. Me too.

No, there are just attacks now that still hit you even if you i-frame it. The only way to evade the damage is just not being where the attack is. Also there's a retarded mechanic in the regular dungeons that reduces your attack and defense by a couple thousand per stack if you don't periodically use a secondary weapon. Other bosses feature raid gimmicks so you don't die. Season 3 doesn't really want you playing like the previous seasons and abusing i-frames.

That's like half the fucking point of Vindictus: play like CUHRAZEY and get rewarded with big damage. Also that new content sounds like literal Hell for Lann players, because i-frames are their one and only defensive measure. Most other classes have a backup to the i-frame dodge, but not motherfuckin' Lann. The slut Vella taking all his dual swords and i-frames was the knife in his back. I guess Season 3 is the deathblow.

3rd Brithday.

How was that game anyway? Is it any good?

i wish more games gave me brain damage

WHY IS SO FUCKING HARD TO FIND GOOD PORN WITH CLOTHING DAMAGE

this

Inferior to the game it came from, from what I hear. Parasite Eve is what it came from.

One Piece does this

Haunting Ground was going to do it, but they scrapped it during development.

Hatred does exactly this.

I guess it wouldn't have been applied to alternate costumes.

Gave us faptastic alternative costumes at least.

Step it up people.

Because clothes usually come off in porn.

It's a good action game but a terrible Parasite Eve.

...

Severance: BoD. Wound textures on you and the enemies.

TW really made the combat feel painful and horrifying compared to other brawlers. When you picked up a brick and smashed it into someones face you felt it.

that's why it's so fucking good my dude.

that Boa/Robin

Fuck Namis new hair.

I always did love that about One Piece. Do they actually keep up with actual powers being counters or logical usage of them or does it devolve into dbz power creeping?

Oda still does alright. Luffy just beat some Biscuit Fruit User cause he kept eating all the fuckers creations.

Anime pacing is complete shit still

...

bullshit
Luffy turned into an even bigger retard than before
he was so afraid of losing his friends, and now he's picking fights left and right getting them all in deep shit
more than half the characters have either become absolutely obsolete or pathetic comic relief that isn't even funny

...

Doesn't this game have actual rape in game overs and an evil lesbian who wants to kill her and make into a servant?

Some DBZ games replicate Recoome's ass showing from the show, hot

Current year.

You just know media would call it rape.

It has implied rape in the game overs.

Bullet Girls let you shoot the clothes off your enemies.

Well one of the Villian's songs during a chase is called "Let me into your womb"
so you decide.

Fuck.
I've not played The third birthday. Is it worth a playthrough?

I've not seen the movie nor played the game.
Are they worth it? Does the game emulate well?

Pretty much. The publishers wanted a by-the-numbers military shooter, which the devs gave in terms of mechanics. The commitment they make to contextualising it, however, is what they had freedom over, and is top tier.
If it sells you on the game more, the moral isn't about calling you a bad person. You sound like a smart guy, so I trust you to figure it out if you play it.

Checked.
Though now that you mention it, there's a severe lack of kawaii and lewd shooters.

You're all tasteless.

As long as the nipples remain hidden. I don't want to steal anyone's agency.

My whole life has become spite for people I hate.

the best thing is that in the manga we go from this guy who's giving Luffy trouble, then to Sanji being held captive, and as soon as it switches back Luffy's eaten all his biscuit soldiers and he's screaming at Luffy to stop.

It's the most effective weapon against the neopuritan menace.

I don't know about emulation but it's definitely worth a try. It's one of my favorite games ever since I played it a long time ago.

The movie is a cult classic, but ultimately unnecessary to play the game.

...

Kamidori was made just for you. Kamidori Alchemy Meister. ARPG (decent-ish at best) with porn, lots and lots and lots of porn.

with clothing damage. try to keep up user

More games need this. Its a really cool mechanic and adds a surprising amount to a game. Seeing Batman all cut up and his suit ruined in the Arkham games really helped bring you into the game more.

Real time wouldn't work though, unless its a bit of a goofy game.

Luffy always gotten everyone in deep shit before. The other characters have their moments and the series itself has always been a little goofy. .

Kamidori has clothing damage. There's a defensive skill called Undress where the girl's clothes get damaged as she loses health up until she's completely naked. Different poses for each set for clothes, too.

The only other one I know of is Paperman.

Gimmick being the characters are paper thin (think Parappa/Um Jammer Lammy), so flanking is actually a bit harder.

Fine too.

Is there some sort of fan edit of the series for it that basically just cuts a lot of the filler bullshit that made it nearly unwatchable? I remember seeing like 5 or 6 character repeat the same shit in a row during Hody Jones. Random bystanders having full conversations about what they just fucking said to each other, while 5 minutes of the episode was actually moving forward. It became unwatchable. I rather have filler episodes then episodes that have shit pacing.

No, that is probably just a 1 to 1 conversion of the manga. I remember when I gave up on it the series were more characters talking about what was happening than things actually happening.

Keep pushing it even harder.

Is it possible to play Paperman these days? I used to play it back when it was free but they've long since put it behind a Nexon tier region lock and cash shop.

But in El Shaddai you could recover your armor, in my opinion it doesnt count user.

Yes, there is. It's called One Pace – as far as I'm aware, they've been at it for about 5 or 6 years. They've managed to do most of the series, barring a couple major arcs (and as far as I recall they're pretty early on when the pacing was a bit better). They also offer streams on their website too, I believe, if you're streaming scum.
t. Animefag that stopped being an animefag during Punk Hazard's shit pacing

The real solution is to just read the manga.

You niggers are gay

Cockteasing is even more gay.

At least Valkyrie Drive has girls you know are actually having gay sex behind the scenes.

...

Apart from characters getting scuff marks on them through fighting, in Guilty Gear xrd, Dizzy gets part of her clothing blown off when she performs her overdrive in certain situations, to reveal some sweet underboob.

I hate this piece of shit so fucking much

wow, what a twist.

When you talk about body damage mechanics I think of this. Look at this demo that uses dynamic tessellation to transform & damage the body of a 3D alien model. God damn, every time they show off these neat tech demonstrations no one ever puts the tech to use. This is from 6 fucking years ago.

The damage demo starts at at 3:41 youtu.be/1c_PVtMIz-A?t=3m41s
It's sad that we're never going to see this tech utilized in anything.

nice meme friend

why did nepU have to take the casual formula of senran and make it more casual though?

It happen when Quantum Computers happen…right?

It's a Jap game. Of course it has rape.

Congrats on being the only person to mention Illbleed.

Why are people on Holla Forums these days such clueless plebs?

Nobody cares why, so let's just leave it at that.

Because it broke and changed everything that made Guilty Gear stand out of the rest of air dashers.
Xturd is just another Blazblue.

Interestingly Vanquish was in a similar situation where Platinum was told to make a by the books third person shooter that is accessible to casuals who just want to sit behind cover and rely on regenerating health, and technically you can play the game that way but noone does because it's way less fun than boosting everywhere and going cuhrayzee.

It's also a great way to tell if someone is casual, if you ask them to describe vanquish and they tell you it's like Gears of War then you know they're a mega casual.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I kind of remember that shitty PS2 brawler with Nina Williams from Tekken had clothing damage, Death by Degrees was the title.
I can't really find any pic that shows the clothing damage, but I'm pretty sure that at the time was quite the novelty. Does anyone else remember it?

it is without exaggerating the worst game i've ever played. don't listen to a single person who says even one positive thing about it.

nothing about it makes sense, in the slightest. i finished it three times not because i enjoyed it but because i wanted to see if there was actually a story. i think there was but i still don't know what happened. the mind-jacking idea isn't terrible but it's executed in such a weird way - why, when you possess a new host body, do you retain your physical damage from your old body? why do your weapons carry over? who designed this game?

let me put it this way: i grew up so unbelievably poor that i've retained a lot of that in my daily life. i don't throw anything away that i could sell, or give to someone who needs it, or trade it in to FUCKING GAMESTOP or whatever. 3rd birthday was the first and only game i've ever just plain thrown away
