I've heard there were problems with optimization for the first one, just how bad is it? I'd prefer to play it on PC but I only have a mid-end rig, and the alternative would be playing it on PS4.

I really don't mind the episodic structure, I just really hate the elusive target system. I want to wait until each season is complete, but I'm going to miss out on content for doing so.

Because most things labeled episodic don't follow what an episodic game is suppose to be. An actual episodic game has a set schedule and has marked improvements from the previous installment because they had time between to listen to feedback and implement them.

In Hitman's case, it's because they couldn't meet their original deadline so instead of delaying the game, they divided the content over the months. It became an accidental episodic game and it suffered for it. Not for its core gameplay but because it became episodic when it really shouldn't have.

except they give out surveys and listen to feedback. there never used to be blood pools in the game at one point. ai had minor tweaks like people getting some suspicion if you bump into them. certain weapons were requested a lot and became an unlock in certain levels

Episodic is acceptable, inferior to releasing the entire game at once, but alright as long as the grand total does not exceed the cost of a normal game.
In this case though, I won't touch this game with a rented dick due to ALWAYS ONLINE requirements that have a shitty ass server that will kick your ass to the curb at least once eery time you really get into playing the fucking thing.

Playing the whole thing is impossible even online as many parts were time limited events that will never happen again. Offline you don't get those either. You also don't get any unlocks, just the most basic version of a level with the most basic equipment.
This game represents the first step into a whole new level of cancer and I hope whoever was responsible for these decisions gets to suffer the slowest and most painful death imaginable.

Have fun not being able to save, or use your save game that is only accessible online. Also you can't do challenges, so even if you wanted to play offline, you couldn't unlock anything. As someone who owns the game, I don't see any reason why people would defend this.
