General Elder Scrolls Thread

Someone really needs to build a Ghostfence to keep these damn Argonians out.
I also hope spoopy skelington man will keep us updated on his adventures in Glorious Resdayn as well.

Have you?
Will you?
Why haven't you already?

I've got a torrent pending as I wanted to see what it looked like, last time I played skyrim in 2012 I had a gtx 270 and a 1600x900 monitor.

Sorry to bump my own thread, but what does Holla Forums think about the Elder Council? Are they really some Illuminati tier secret society? What about the towers? Will the Thalmor go after Direnni tower next? What does house Sadras actually do and when will they get some lore? Why does ESO have such dogshit lore? Why is Elder Scrolls lore the deepest lore? Exactly how large is Vivec's Muatra? These are the sort of questions I would like anons to answer in this thread. I probably should have put this in the OP.
Dunmer are the best race, btw.

God away Todd

Well user, I have more or less finished my spooky adventures in morrowind, and soon will begin sppoking up skyrim. An user suggested some really cool mods some threads ago, and I have been meaning to test them out for myself.

It's not like you needed a stronger card

It's good to see you back, spoopy skellington user. I look forward to your continued adventures.

Like I wouldn't be here, this is the most time I have spent playing vidyah in awhile. It feels good.

Is this some kind of fan TES game? There's nothing after Morrowind.

I got all the graphical mods at the time so it ran it pretty badly

Bethesda losing TES rights when? We need a proper dev team to make these games and do them right.

Bethesda a shit, but TES clones aren't really a thing. There's nobody else making these kind of games, so who would you want developing it?

Also I remember there was a perks mod that added necromancy perks to the Conjuration constellation, and it required you to have bones and human flesh in your inventory to summon shit. Can't remember the name of it though but I think it was popular, may have gotten updated/replaced

I doubt mods will even take off with the enhanced edition. Why would anyone bother when the original game can be modded to look 1000 times better than the enhanced edition?

Addendum, I seem to have run into a problem with my skyrim game. Does anyone have a torrent for skyrim+dawnguard, all the ones in the share thread are shit.

Definitely SkyRe and possible PerMa (which is the successor to SkyRe)

That will happen on its own for free with OpenMW and Tamriel Rebuilt. Morrowind is the only TES game we will ever need and at some point when every vanilla data file has been replaced the Theseus ship paradox will take place and it arguably won't even be TES3 Morrowind anymore. If every single file of a game is replaced one by one at what point does it stop being the same game? At what point is it legal to distribute the entire thing?

Doesn't matter, with the new trade agreements a company can shut down a product even if it is similar. I fully expect zenimax to turn on the modders very soon.

If trump-kun gets elected can he shut those down? And those trade agreements are referring to those in the TPP right?

There were a lot of trade agreements. I don't know if Trump will be able to do anything though considering he will have a lot on his plate.

At least the TPP will be adressed, have to hope for the best with the other shit. I dont see much changing with those

Mind you, the number one purpose of the Trans-Pacific Partnership is to render national governments subservient to a "corporate tribunal". As one Japanese economist put it, it's first and foremost a threat to national sovereignty. It's a very big deal, and for that reason it definitely will have to be a priority target for Trump.

Nearly the same stuff they did with Arkane and Human Head, but even with the added bonus of 84 on Metacritic they evidently couldn't quite clinch the deal.

Trump has said that the TPP is never ever getting ratified if he's elected. (Hell, he's going to renegotiate NAFTA and that's 20 years old.)

I like the old canard that you as a player achieve CHIM only when you start modding your game so much that it breaks. (I guess that might be zero-sum, though.)

You achieve CHIM when Oblivion and Skyrim stop being canon

I've roleplayed as the great-great-granddaughter of Caius Coscades in Skyrim.

That's a personal C0DA.

But what if I don't personally believe that Skyrim and Oblivion are canon thus creating my own dragon break in line with what is presented and planned in Tamriel Rebuilt + Project Tamriel?

wh-wha

That's not a Dragon Break, that's a personal C0DA.

Oh, wait, nevermind, I thought you were saying precisely the opposite of what you actually were and that Tamriel Rebuilt + Project Tamriel were planning some elaborate plot twist violation to have them better be able to fit into a TES where Oblivion and Skyrim are canon.

Isn't CHIM just coda fanfiction?

It's the same fucking thing as vanilla game with a medium-tier ENB, and most of the good mods don't work since SKSE hasn't been ported yet.

I'm starting Morrowind for the first time and I'm kinda having trouble finding a good build.

What's an interesting/unique build you guys would recommend?

Did they fix the physics or is it all just graphics and no substance?

They already have turned on the modders. Just look at the skyrim remaster. Its a shitty enb, godrays, and a few shaders. Literally nothing. the only big thing is the mods on consoles, and surprise surprise anyone who had all the dlc and the game got the remaster for free modders and people who mod skyrim usually go for all dlc for the biggest and best mods which require all dlc
And to top it all off, they even gave the game a bit earlier from what i've heard so modders could work with it and create mods quickly, most likely to help out console users. Bethesda is now whoring out their modding community to the console community. It's fucking disgusting.

Something that only allows you to use magic to leap great distances as your preferred method of fast travel.

Jump 100 for 1 second.
Slow fall 0 for 30 seconds.

Fast travel ahoy!

Spellsword, bard and battlemage are good classes for beginners. Archer and monk are also nice but not as good for the general exploring and running around you'll find yourself doing.

Nope, still tied to framerate. Audio is also worse now.

And the item placement issues when decorating your home? Tell me they at least fixed their cell caching bugs.

Jump build is fun. Go for Alteration, not Acrobatics, the spell is way more powerful than the skill.

Being now a x64 exe probably helps with that, but I wouldn't know since I don't care for houses. Their entire focus was on graphics though, they didn't even bothered to implement the unofficial patch's fixes on the game.

>Got Special Edition for free.

Decision made, I guess. What sort of combat/weapons does this playstyle support?

I always found it satisfying to push a spear down someone's throat when descending from three stories height. I guess a hammer would work well for that, too. Also don't forget to get a crossbow for those pesky Cliffracers.

Dragoon build it is.

For vanilla gameplay I always recommend Speedwizard (or something like Wind Sage for a cooler name)

Everyone who shits on vanilla Morrowind combat has not tried this build or anything like it. I mean it's still pretty jank but quite entertaining for sure. The marathon knockout strategy even works at level 1, I killed the dark brotherhood assassin quite easily with it and no items.

PS4 can't even have external assets with their mods, so any kind of retexture is off-limits for them.

I hate this, everyone forgets that consolecucks have to pay $50 a year for basic online functionality and if they want to play a bad game they can't get it for free. Even if they want to play a good game it's still quite a bit more expensive than what you'd find on $team/GOG sales.

Plus you don't have to buy new games every 6 years because of infinite backwards compatibility.

...

Do you really have to ask

You don't even need to go that far.

Well if you're jumping around like an idiot ranged attacks are probably the best. Marksman or Destruction. Alchemy is strongly recommended too, unfortunately you can't make poisons in Morrowind but you can make very strong potions, even without exploiting fortify intelligence.

Spear would be cool too.

The jump spell simply multiplies your acrobatics skill so there is an ideal ratio to maintain here. If you want supreme autism you should even be using the fortify acrobatics skill alongside the jump spell to maintain the ratio.

Yeah, I know - that's what I mean. A lot of PS4 people are switching over to the Xbone version for mods. And they're still getting super-fucked because of the Xbox's own arbitrary and technical restrictions.

And fucking watch… a few of these special retards are going to wake up just enough to realize that, and then spend ANOTHER $40 on the PC version… but they'll buy Special Edition and not Legendary - so no SKSE for over a year, and no ENB maybe ever. So that's ANOTHER $20~40 if they want Legendary for all the mods they were originally promised by Bethesda for the PS4.

Some asshole out there is dumb enough, you fucking know it, to actually spend almost $250 on… Skyrim.

To…remove the kalpa? No real way, just to start a new one and hope for the best (i.e. Amaranth). To loop the kalpa? It takes Alduin to eat the world and send it all back to Convention. Think of Tamriel pre-Skyrim as having been living in a Groundhog Day-style loop.
Thalmor will always be faggots regardless of kalpa. Let them bitch and moan about "MUH PERFECT PURE ANCESTORS" and not appreciating mortality for what it is.
The whole point of Skyrim is AKA going mad and punching himself in the face to get his shit together (i.e. LDB killing Alduin who left his job of "World-Eater" to become the "Dominator").
Dragons are all scales from the hide of AKA; Alduin is as much a nephew of Akatosh as he is also an aspect of him and also him, because a facet of a diamond is still part of a diamond, right?
LDB is AKA's voice of reason who goes to realign Alduin's head onto his shoulders. And by that I mean snapping said neck in two.

Point a failure repairs is another big cost-sink for consoles. I have a cousin who bought six brand new Xbox 360's. Five RRODs and one "upgrade" to the "Elite" for the bigger HDD. If my RAM goes bad, I just buy new ram. If my GPU fries, I just buy a new GPU. If my optical media fail, who fucking cares. Just leave it broken.

But if that shit fails in a console… then not only do you have to buy the new component, but all the other components that surround it. New case, new PSU, new ram, new CPU, new CPU, new cables, new mobo, new cooling… etc. You can't even leave your optical media broken, because there's no way to register a physical copy of a game with the online store - allowing you to get the digital version. So you end up having to buy your games all over again digitally to circumvent the optical drive. And it's not exactly like these system are made easy to open up and clean the way a PC is, and half these assholes probably have their consoles in dusty houses full of pet hair and meth residue.

No; it's arguable that he had some kind of fucked up "anti-CHIM", but most people versed in the lore don't call it that, either.
Someone being converted into a part of Dagoth Ur.
I'm pretty sure Dagoth Ur tried and that's how Morrowind happened.

Basically, read both pics related.

Talos/Tiber Septim is an amalgamation of three different people whose powers combined create a relatively Imperial-shaped silhouette of Lorkhan.

I forgot about that too. As an extension of that, with all this hubbub about the nuconsoles like the PS4K and whatever the nubone is called consoletards have to upgrade every 3 years too if they want to stay up to date, and they can't even take those upgrades one at a time (like choosing only to beef up your RAM if it is the limiting factor with some game you're playing).

And these people will probably buy the Switch version too.

So this thread has inspired me- never actually beat the main storyline since I was pretty young when it came out.

Any recommended mods for someone who's only had it for consoles?

There's countless guides on the internet; a quick google search of "essential skyrim mods" should do the trick.

That said, get started with SKSE, ENBoost, and the unofficial patch(es) if you want the game to be playable without it bashing you on the head with CTDs.

I should have specified, my bad Todd.

Save scumming and abusing the console to togglegodmode or spawn items is part of the lore right? where is this mentioned?

Assuming you're talking about Morrowind unlike what the other user assumed, I think the only essential mods are the unofficial patches (assuming you're playing in OpenMW).

You can grab Morroiwnd Watercolored as well for a nice simple visual mod and anything else is either going to be a fuck ton of graphics mods or content mods.

For content I'd say look into city/town expansions, Tomb of the Snow Prince, Trainwiz's stuff, Rise of House Telvanni, and obviously Tamriel Rebuilt.

I'm making a mega graphics/sound/content/gameplay mod compilation for OpenMW though and I'll post it here when done.

Some people will argue that this is explained by CHIM and reinforced by C0DA. I am one of those people

Wow that spacing looks terrible my bad, sorry for the reddit spacing I didn't type that very well.

here is some cool Morrowind art as an apology

Thank you kindly for indulging me despite the errors, will definitely look into those.

SKSESE probably by the years end, ENB already, there's already a DX11 Skyrm Special edition ENB but I couldn't get it to work when testing it.

I don't think anyone is going to buy the Switch anyway.

and calling it a shitty ENB is either a stupid fucking meme or ignorance, ENB is post post process shaders, and is a massive waste of resources.

Shit job though, many textures are just upscaled, they should have opted in for a better skin shader and they should have unlocked engine features so modders can have fun, like soft body and removing animation limitations.

OpenMW can't come soon enough.

OpenMW can't come soon enough.

ES: Where niggers invaded the world of Men because blew up their own home continent with an atomic bomb (a sword technique that could slice atoms) while genociding the Left-Handed Elves and then proceeded to "culturally enrich" the people of Tamriel until nobody was left in Hammerfell but the Redguards.

A single Redguard with a single sword stroke could end the entire Aldmeri Dominion by sinking the Summerset Isles, if they hadn't banned and forgotten how to perform the pankrataosword technique.

no

People are really underestimating what we can do with OpenMW. OpenCS will likely get to the point where shader parameters can be accessed directly with mods meaning hacky inefficient workarounds like ENB will not be necessary.

I'm currently most interested in working on functionality for character customization and concurrent animations (for combat), not because I care about them too much but because it will attract the shitrim audience and once Bethesda's audience abandons them in favor of OpenMW then TR development will skyrocket.

pastebin.com/7gF2VLaf

I think we should work together.

c'mon nigger, y'know that's gonna be the plot for the next game. your character is gonna have the hoonding and learn to sword sing, so you can push the dominion out of hammerfell

That actually sounds like it has potential. Maybe not "atom bomb" - but if the atomos was getting down to tonal architecture, and splitting that could cause a localized un-making of reality. Like the snapping of a string on a guitar in the middle of a solo. Maybe someone who lost everything in the Dominion's attack snapped, went full autist, and rediscovered the techniques - like maybe there's a few places of old knowledge still around on the remnants of Yokuda. Then you'd have study with the Ansei masters to improve your sword-singer techniques and track this guy down and defeat him before he completely fucked reality by destroying the tonal architecture causing a catastrophic cascading souring of the melody.

You just know the next game will come with Denuvo and thus won't be even worth the pirate.

Implying you will even be able to play it without going to there website as a form of copy protection. 15 dollars a month goy.

And then they whine about disappointing sales and frantically search for a scapegoat.

The more Beth fucks up the more OpenMW lives on in the hearts of the people.

Still trying to find a decent torrent of skyrim by the way, most of them seem to have a bunch of tacked on bullshit mods.

Until they kill it with a cease and desist.

They can't it's a generic and open source engine, the only thing they can do is frivolous lawsuits, which could end up hurting Bethesda. the MW part is dropped, the modding community drops Bethesda, a bunch of autists band together and make the game we've all wanted Bethesda to make for decades.

I definitely think that will happen. Which will be the final nail in the coffin of the TeS series.

You know C++? I've only been coding in it for a year and the hardest thing I've done is made a simple 2D engine with collision detection and simple physics.

Anyways I've never implemented anything like this before but it looks like this will either involve fuckery with vertex groups on model data or a skeleton made for character morphs. The latter will probably be easier but I'm not sure if it would be a good idea. What would you do?

Also I have a decent amount of knowledge when it comes to how 3D models, animations, and rigging work but I'm not good enough to make a nice character model. I'm only decent at rigging and animation.

No, I can't code. I'm making new character assets for Morrowind, and I intend on giving them morph targets for both face and body customization,I started redoing all my old work to bring the poly counts down, I think 20k polys is a bit much, so the new models are aimed at being between 6k and 8k polys because I'd rather have large scenes with many actors rather than very detailed actors that you won't spend much time looking at in detail. I'm still learning though but I can model, sculpt, rig, texture and animate.

I've been pretty lax though since OpenMW's osgt/b format can only be used for statics at the moment, and it won't be useful for much else in a very long time at the rate things are going.

not a furry

youtu.be/T6EjcESYIXk?t=135
That's partially why I want more modest poly counts.

I recognize that penis.

Alright well I think moderate poly counts are definitely a good idea. I think an even better solution would be 3 LOD variants for actors, with yours being the middle version, but alternate LOD models could be made much later by someone else.

My ideal character creation system would be a single androgynous base model for all characters, be they children, old, tall, short, elf, or man. Dragon's Dogma does a great job of this even though it isn't androgynous, but if they used the same kind of texture layering they used on the musculature slider on breasts and general physique I think they could have definitely pulled it off.

The reason I want an androgynous single race model is because it is much more modular than having different models and textures for every race and if you want to add a texture morph to one of them it will work on all of them. A side effect would be shit like traps and tomboys and I'm sure that would bring the Loverslab community back over.

So would you be interested in doing that?

And what kind of functionality would you like to see for animation? My plan is to make the system much more modular by grouping animations in a "stance," like for example you would use the "one handed weapon and shield" stance which contains animations for different stance-specific actions like swinging your sword or blocking. This would also go for magic or non combat items like lockpicks. You can switch between available stances when you have your items out (mostly would be normal and crouching) and when you switch your equipped items you'll use different stances with different actions.

This would allow someone to do shit like add crazy DMC style combat animations without them applying to every NPC that uses a sword, since those animations would be a stance you could learn from an NPC. It also lets you have an arbitrary number of user defined action buttons so if you wanted to make the combat super crazy you could add different attacks to all sorts of inputs (including stuff like double tapped buttons/mouse). The concern here is in vastly extending the functionality of the control scheme in a way that won't make Zini mad. Animations don't exactly have to be redone for it, just moved around a little and it would be great if someone wanted to make animations with this in mind (for example, an stance for having a potion equipped that contains an animation of the actor drinking it and one for throwing it). It'd be neat to be able to hold every object in the game which might make decorating your house a lot less tedious.

Also I should note that the uniform model probably wouldn't be a good idea as far as beast races are concerned.

I definitely intend on creating LODs but only once my work is finalized, and I intend on coming back and creating a final high detail model of around 20k polys after OpenMW has matured and graphics have moved forward so that such a thing would be toaster friendly

I had planned on just making a more advanced version of the Skyrim character creator just with better beast races, and Body slide integrated into the character creation, because it sounds easy and it's still poweful enough, but sure if I could achieve the results I wanted with a single humanoid mesh I'd be game, although there are problems here.

I intend on making all characters at a base anatomically correct and I have no intention on working on morphs for naked children.

The character creation system in Dragon's Dogma used a custom animation system that allowed the same animations work at different scales, it sounded really advanced too and you'd need to have that functionality to have Orcs and your shota sex slave use the same base mesh

With naked characters changing a penis into a vagina sounds hard

I'm not really too fussed about an animation system, I'm just going to make new animations for all the ones Morrowind has plus a few more for features I want, like mounted animations, crawling/lying down animations, sitting, first person drinking/eating, just added shit I hate that Beth left out, even in Skyrim/Oblivion

The stances thing sounds pretty cool though.

Yeah, definitely.

If Skyrim is canon at all, the Alduin of Skyrim is just a minor aspect subverted by Elder Council dreamfabric fuckery as part of the same elaborate ruse that had them send brainwashed/soulscrubbed Thalmor plants into the province as the same kind of controlled opposition for the burgeoning, stagnancy-defying Stormcloaks (or for… something behind them) as the province's occupational Simulacrum-Legion. All the other 'dragons' witnessed may or may not just be Simulacra programmed (or possibly piloted by real dragons elsewhere) to play along with 'Alduin' as well.

Needless to say, 'the dragon war' never actually happened, either - at least not anymore. The Empire like to go in-depth with the psy-ops they play on the Et'Ada.

>all of this post particularly the androgynous base model concept's implications for lewdness - but then I'm just being really biased
Awesome.

I didn't exactly have nudity in mind (other than breasts but that's easy and hardly counts) and I think Loverslab would take care of that for us (equippable genitalia? More likely just a copy of the androgynous model with genitalia attached and you can switch between the models).

As for the animation system that would work with it, the only reason Dragon's Dogma needed one so complicated was for stuff like climbing, grabbing, and capcom-tier really good looking character animations. It'll work just fine if the character morph skeleton is applied to the animation skeleton (if that makes sense) but it just won't look good if you try to make animations that involve two actors at once, but again that's pretty much just a concern for loverslab and if those fuckers can put vagina physics in Skyrim then I'm sure they'll figure this shit out just fine.

I am quite surprised more games don't go for it since it really does make things easier from a technical standpoint since you don't have to do everything twice. The obvious concern is "muh breasts" but all you have to do is make a slider for them and overlay an appropriate bump/AO map on top with its strength determined by how far you've taken the slider.

Genitals would require something more difficult though otherwise they'd look strange, and you could either attach the model with the downside being a seam at the base (would only be noticeable on males) or have seperate models that look exactly the same other than the genitalia and some of the sliders in that region.

What Schlongs of Skyrim does for the genitals is that the groin is a separate model from the rest of the body (although I think it still follows the same texturing and UV mapping as the main body) - how about that?

Hmm I can see that working if the added groin model attaches to the rest of the model with overlapping vertices but I wouldn't want or need to implement such a thing myself, I'm sure Loverslab will gladly take care of that for me if they ever become interested in Morrowind again.

Any chance for OpenMW to be done by the end of they year?

It's already feature complete as a recreation of Morrowind - unless you're waiting on the construction set or distant land, then as far as its basic design goals go it's done already. As for actually playing Morrowind, too, that's not to mention things like the quick-save/auto-save corruption that's been present in every Morrowind engine title from Morrowind to Fallout 4 having simply never appeared in OpenMW, and the mountain of workarounds there are like the Morrowind Code Patch, MW FPS Optimizer, the 4GB patch, etc, not being needed for matters besides.

Anyway, though, as far as actual development goes, I think Scrawl is still out of action and his graphics work remains stalled with him gone, but progress on the construction set seems to be going along steadily.

There's still problems with sitting/riding animations and other ones that work in tandem, but I guess that's something you could get around in other ways, my characters aren't barbie dolls and they don't have their underwear welded on. I'm going to start rebuilding my Khajiit Breeds tomorrow, probably rebuild the humans in a week or two, and then rebuild the demo armors I made after that.

Sort of, it's still missing a few minor Morrowind features but nothing that should stand in the way of completing the game, the next release could be 1.0 for OpenMW, but OpenCS is still miles behind.

Scrawl still makes the occasional contribution when his health allows. Also, two other people suddenly showed up and started working on a lot of bugs and missing features when Scrawl began his break.

How far behind is OpenCS?
I haven't been keeping up.

The upcoming release will let you rotate objects.

I couldn't really say anything in detail (note my having had to be corrected by 889a88 on Scrawl) but I could point you to the OpenMW webpage - OpenMW-CS gets coverage on the blog as well as its own release commentary videos, if you're not already aware.

It runs 64bit mode now. So once the mods get over to it, it will be far superior to vanilla.

Stop spreading this sweet little lie Todd and listen to
It is its own engine, technically you don't need any of the original Morrowind assets at all. In it's final state their goal is to be able to make a completely new game out of it.

Well that is just great, now most 32-bit will probably not recognize it. Oh well, it's not the games fault programmers generally suck.

Ohhh in additon to 64bit they need to incorporate stuff like the fps optimizer, and a 4 gig or greater patch for the executable. Right now morrowind has to have them pre-installed because the MPP doesn't recognize the executable after.

I'm pretty sure 4GB is built-in due to the fact that it's 64-bit. I could be wrong though, I haven't fucked around with executable file flags in a while.

Skse took care of that years ago
Yoou cant be serious nigger kek. With 4k mods i have better performance than base shortbus edition
Maybe the only thing going for it, and thats if they even get the best mods remade for x64, which i doubt since most people arent fans of redoing it and dealing with the mod community.
Already the dude who made mcm has opted out.
Like I said, their shitty enb, or shaders if you want to call it that are shit. This was to whore out the console audience. And you conveniantly ignored the big elephant in the room, the fact that they made it for the console audience to use their modding base.

The only reason there was a 4gb patch for Skyrim is because it was 32 bit, the main difference between 32 and 64 bit programs is the amount of memory they can address since 32 bit pointers can't address more than 2^32 bytes (4gb) but 64 bit pointers can address 2^64 bytes (a fuckton)

Now you'll be able to load all 25 gigabytes of Skyrim into your ram.

Tamriel is the land of beasts, landstrider

Im just waiting for openmw to get completed. Maybe play daggerfall too. New skyrim is the same as old skyrim, except without all the good mods. And there was nothing good about old skyrim without mods. Well, maybe hermaeus mora.

In Skyrim regular edition I couldn't get 60fps with ENB and Ambient Occlusion, now with Skyrim Special Edition I can get an easy 60fps with all the bells and whistles that SSE provides, and that includes an increased draw distance, but it performs better in other ways, like this youtube.com/watch?v=T6EjcESYIXk&feature=youtu.be&t=135.

The only way in which SSE is worse is it's lack of mod support for major things like SkyUI, these will be fixed in the future though.

Console users being able to use mods isn't a bad thing, maybe some users will be inspired to get a PC and mod themselves, and maybe some users will want to see what mods were like for older games, I'm fine with it, not the stealing of mods though, and mods that brick consoles are hilarious.

OpenMW can't come soon enough.

cmon now

They don't behave much like niggers. If any race are the niggers it's the khajiit

0/10
Learn some lore. They've got a civilization going.

If anyone it's bosmer. But the real answer is Imga.

niggers
Jews
Americans
Indians (the India kind)
Tribal/aboriginal/natives/etc
Mexicans
Japs

I forgot Bretons because they're so boring, they're obviously Britbongs.

Forgot Orcs too, they're also niggers

that sword looks gamebreakingly strong

Khajiit are gypsies dummy.
Sload
Dunmer cmon it's not hard. Look at all the architecture
Argonians. They are violent, live in a trash heap swamp(deep africa), and savage. But Bosmer are close.
Greeks you fuck
Correct
Are you fucking serious N'wah? They are nordic vikings.

64bit means that now you can have a shitload of npcs on screen without the game crashing, more complex scripts and the like.

I wasn't going off surface elements like architecture, skin color, or names. I was going off the personality of the culture. Nords may have all of their surface elements derived from Nordic cultures but they're retarded dirty Mexicans.

Dunmer may have the architecture of Mayans but the comparison to India is much more relevant because India used to be an intellectual powerhouse full of culture and innovation that stagnated into what it is today, just like what happened to Morrowind.

Imperials have the surface elements of Romans but they're more like Americans where they put everything into their army that they try to use to control every other continent and enforce American/Imperial values but noone gives a shit and they are an incompetent bureaucratic mess.

Also I agree about Khajiits being gypsies but I now move Nords to being niggers because they're dumb, violent, and constantly push their "Nord pride" to the point where they're willing to start a civil war that they can't win for no practical reason just because the Empire offended them.

You're not our friend anymore.

Fighting to the death to keep your identity and nation from being destroyed is nigger tier? At the very least they could have gotten some level of autonomy in the event of losing. Niggers sit around not caring about anything as long as they get gibs.

I got more of a Roman vibe with the Colovian and Nibenese in a sorta Latin and Socii way

Go home pajeet

Redpill me on the Empire. My thought process is that Skyrim separatism is retarded because they'll be under the (((Thalmor)))'s thumb, but the Empire is already there anyway and they don't seem to be too interested in getting out.

They're both under the Thalmor's thumb, but the Empire is directly controlled by them, while the Nords hate them and all Elves, and would never let them, or any other race directly rule over them. Not that the Thalmor really care, they'll just get someone as a puppet, they win either way. That's why the dragonborn needs to do some racial cleansing.

The Empire is now a Thalmor
Cocksleeve that would suck the dick of any high elf that would promise them a bump in diplomatic relations with the southern states of Tamriel. Seriously, they were willing to agree to giving a big chunk of Hammerfell to the Elves, and when the redguards said Fuck You to the Empire, hammerfell was no longer recognized as a legit state.

What the Empire failed to fucking realize is that there is NO FUCKING PEACE WITH THE ALDMERI DOMINION. They are always the first to kick up shit, no matter the case. A fucking war with a daedric god, the melding of planes, and all that shit still wont stop a fucking Altmer from going "muh superiority" and possibly DOOMING TAMRIEL.

Fuck those yellow skinned, sharp chinned, knife eared skeever fuckers, and there short forest woodfuckers that are only good for sex slavery along with those furball scum sucking addicts.

GREAT WAR 2.0 NOW

Y'know those conspiracy theories you hear about every now and then? The 'Demystifying the Occult' stuff, the >>>/gatebreakers/ stuff. That's the Empire Cyrodiil, and the current wargames of Nirn are all just one big con on the Aedra as the Elder Council prepare their bid for a higher Density.

I really, really want to kill some elves

...

...

I'm interested in learning about this. Can someone redpill me on the Elder Council? What do I need to read? Are they the real Jews in the TES universe?

Do you think my HD4600 can run morrowind?

Don't be silly, user. Thalmor has always been and will always be our greatest ally.

KNIFE EARS, TREE SLUTS, AND SAND PUSSIES GO AND STAY GO

The numbers you are using now came from India

...

Why not? The game is from 2002 your phone can run this shit

I'm using a dumbphone tho?

It could probably still run it. I'd bet an ATM could run it.

...

In case anyone didn't know, OpenMW actually has an android build though I haven't tried it out myself.

The devs aren't allowed to show Morrowind running on it though for gay legal reasons but I heard it mostly works.

What?! What's the problem? Something in the original EULA for the game?

They made a deal with Zenimax (which is why everyone talking about Bethesda pursuing legal action against them is a gigantic fucking retard) where they agreed that the project is okay, but Zenimax was uncomfortable with the idea of porting the game to other platforms so they settled not to market it as not to give unreal expectations to legal customers of Bethesda's games or something.

...

I think the Elder Council were planning on conquering Nirn in order to remake reality as they saw fit.

Like a level above CHIM. Complete global CHIM.

Niggers it is philosophically broken, stop it.

So i started this elf arcane_smith last night "inspired by dota2 elder titan " any mods that reinforce and improve this magicalsmithing feel and enchantment mechanics ?

But why

What skills ?

No, they're just a legal body of nobles and rich merchants, like a pre-modern parliament.

They "strengthen" creation since they're imitations of Direnni Tower.

That may be why they were so interested in annexing Hammerfell. But they probably won't succeed; Direnni Tower, unlike all the others, isn't a manmade imitation. The only way to undo it, I think, would be to undo the Convention, and I don't think that's possible–at least not without some Alessian singing-tier dragonbreak nonsense.

Because Kirkbride combined drugs and every religious tradition into one deliciously ambiguous mess that somehow works.

How well do you think some of the deeper lore of TES would mesh with the normalfag audience if it was brought to the forefront of the next game's story?

Alteration, enchant etc

They wouldn't care. However, since it's an already established massively popular series, they would go along with it and ignore it, just like moralfag pussies ignore Skyrim's history is built on genocide since they already have an acceptable opinion on the show. They just won't bring it up and will act like it doesn't interest them, which it doesn't.
A few pretentios redditards will start proclaiming it's the best thing ever which is true since it is deepest lore but for the wrong reasons and will run everything into the ground so we won't be able to have normal talks anymore.

Hey you guys know that giant boulder near Gnaar Mok that the orc apparently suicided off of (you can find his corpse)? There are some scaffolding/platforms on it when you go beyond the game's default draw distance. What is this and why is it here, is it a bug with my install or something? I tried disabling MGE but it's still there. Check out the water reflections in screenshot 11 too.

There are none that do that. The one video of a guy "bricking" an Xbone turned out to be a hoax.

Aren't those for creating the daedric statue? I don't remember a dead orc either. Died on the job in your game?

There is a daedric statue to malacanth under the water somewhere. The rock is for the quest to build him a new shrine statue. The guy you need to talk to to build the statue is in the building with creeper.

Also I am attempting to fix some mod conflicts with my skyrim game, the version I pirated came with all sorts of mods and it doesn't work very well. It probably has something to do with load order, but I will see what I can do. It was made by nos team apparently, frankly it is more than I need.

It was specifically that they can't show Morrowind running on other platforms and if the casuals see Morrowind on Android they'll start to expect other Bethesda games on Android which won't happen but their image will be hurt.

Fortunately they can still make OpenMW for Android they just can't show Morrowind running on it, but they can show other games made in OpenMW that do not use any of Bethesda's assets.

basically this
It would be a cataclysm for lorefags

Ah that would be it, I haven't even started that quest, but it would be something to do with it no doubt. Here are the Orc's bones, there's an orcish pauldron on them. The locals at Gnaar Mok mention him.

Thanks for the info.

Also this mod is cool if you´re gonna play Sotha Sil Expanded:
youtube.com/watch?v=dQfZfGA470c

does anyone have any tips on improving performance with OpenMW, getting weird fps drops in towns.
Running on a Athlon II six core, 8gb DDR3 and a 6870.
also is there a journal mod that makes it more organized and simpler to follow for casuals

These buttons (mouse pointer)

Holy fuck I have been playing skyrim for only ten minutes testing shit, and it's obvious it was made with only consoles in mind.

shit, i feel stupid.
thanks user

The statue is to Boethia but other than that yeah

You lied to me book.

All right, I finally think I have my skyrim sorted out. Now I can start installing the mods user asked me to, and I can begin the spooky adventures in skyrim this time.

Skyrim is such a fucking grind, I can't enjoy it. If you don't grind, you're perpetually weak. If you do grind, the majority of the enemies are reduced trivial fodder and any possibility of death gets thrown out the window. I also can't enjoy using the command console cheats. God mode doesn't provide the same satisfaction that finishing the grind and building your character to be OP brings.

why did this game deserve a special edition?

You can grind to be invincible by level 2, dual bound sword can melt dragons in 20 seconds.

Is there any way of playing Morrowind in currentyear.exe without (((Steam))) or (((GOG)))?

I know the most recent printings of the boxed GOTY edition require Steam, and IGG's download is just the GOG version.

Say I bought pre-Steam copies of the DVDs. Would I still be able to install and play the game like the good old days?

If not, is there a live torrent for such a Steam- and GOG-free version?

It's true though. We use arabic numerals, and if it weren't for the arabs, old-ass western literature like the Odyssey wouldn't have survived the dark ages.

You could probably use the original release, I don't know why you wouldn't. Just grab the files from the GOG version or something and use OpenMW, that's probably the best solution.

I think what he's getting at is that the Khajiit consume a lot of moon sugar and steal all the time so the comparison is apt.

Just pirate it fam, I even own 2 copies of the game but pirating is more convenient since I can get one without looking around for the discs or dealing with $team DRM (I bought the $team version before I grew to hate it).

You should be able to run the DVDs just fine, but you might as well just get it on Steam and run it through OpenMW, no need to even use Steam once you've got the files.

Thanks, anons. I've never used OpenMW, but from reading the FAQ and based on your input it's essentially like the DOOM sourceports, right? Once I have the files, I get to run the game independently in the open-source engine?

Just get the GOG version and run OpenMW, Stallman.

Yes that is correct, but the real purpose of it will be seen after OpenCS hits 1.0 and people work on features that allow for much greater modding capabilities. The normal engine/editor hardcode a lot of properties like skills and attributes that will be dehardcoded by OpenMW in the future once they hit 1.0

Make sure you pirate the GOG version, no reason to give a bunch of poles money.

It wouldn't. At all. Most people buy it as a generic high fantasy, and they like it as a generic high fantasy. Try to tell them about how Pelinal was basically an elf-Terminator cyborg from the future, or that reality is woven from a melody playing in some dreaming god's mind.

Shit, half of them think that ES takes place in a far-distant past Earth - and that ES and Fallout 4 are canonically connected because of fucking Nirnroot easter eggs.

But, to be fair, it's not like Bethesda themselves understand or can clearly draw the line between easter egg and canon either - ala Alyeiums in FO3.

SE added new lore books from TESO?
What kind? The lusty argonian maid meme books or the actual good ones?

But it's when you grind that the level scaling kicks in

That is being pretty kind. To anyone who hasn't played skyrim, let me give you my first impressions. First of all the combat is probably the worst I have ever seen in the TeS series, it's so boring, and when people say it's pointless floaty bullshit. You will not fully understand what they mean until you experience it for yourself. After just running around town I found three things that are immediate red flags. A woman smith, a young girl bullying a young boy, and a fight breaks out in one of the companion guild halls where a girl beats up some guy. This is already pretty awful, but it only gets worse. No colovian fur helms, the world is just varying degrees of brown/grey/white, towns are very tiny, the new character models all look like people have not eaten in months, bugs out the ass(as if anyone is surprised), and worst of all it's not just bad it's SO BOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRING!!! Now believe me when I say that this is no exaggeration, but skyrim is the WORST game I have ever played. Even FF8 was better than this. Skyrim has absolutely not one redeeming quality, not even one.

Alright I give up. Sorry anons, but for now the spooky adventures are on hold. I can't get anything to work right in skyrim, and frankly at this point I don't care to. This game really blows hard, sorry….

Skyrims combat is so fucking retarded for many more reasons than the floatyness of it.
Gee, strategically using cover to close the gap really paid off. Using a shield is basically easy mode because it allows you to actually stun your opponent.

completely understandable, skyrim is near impossible to make fun

...

No way that is like saying we believe in bigfoot, nobody really does.

On the other hand, does anyone have that link to that modified version of oblivion? I would love to mod the hell out of the Shivering Ilses, that place was great. It was really small though, I would be more than happy to go around some expanded Ilses.

It can be enjoyable, with low enough expectations and the right quantity of mods. I played with SkyDie, Monster Mod and Frostfall, among others, and the travels between shit I had to do on the holds and my loot stash in that Falkreath house in the middle of nowhere were adventures by themselves.

Shivering Isles was never a popular mod area, the only ones I remember messing with it were OOO and Stranded Light.

More confirmation the mod scene post morrowind might as well be dead. But I am seeing some cool stuff like an expanded root system.

Besides FCOM I did pretty much forget about Oblivion's modding scene after 2009 or so, so there could be some cool mods for the Isles I don't know about.

Oh I forgot I still have to explore Darknut's ruins, that will be fun. No it wont

Alright niggers I am going to get through Darknut's ruins next. I am feeling really good about the election last night, I am going to do it. I am going to somehow get skyrim to work, and even have fun to.

Oh, God. Please no. That mod is too confusing for me. Level design makes it obvious he's compensating for something and it's not great. Just confusing and complicated. It's also not lore friendly, I think.

You're a braver man than I am.

Yah I hear it is not very popular, especially because of the changes to Dagoth Ur

...

Got a cute weapon out of it so far

IT'S A TARP

Hey I found some teleports, this should make things easy

NYEH-HEH-HEH-HEH-HEH, YOU TRIED TO DROWN ME BUT I AM A SKELETON. I DON'T NREATHE HAHA

DNG has some nice ideas, and I like the concept, as the vanilla final dungeon is just terrible. But, man, it's all just so poorly implemented. Darknut apparently can't design dungeons and traps around abilities like levitation, so he just forbids their use. Tribunal forbid a player gets rewarded for bringing useful potions or scrolls or something. That would be sensible. Many death traps have no indication and are inescapable. There's lots of large rooms and twisting passages, but there doesn't seem to be much point to them besides being complicated. I found a lot of things that might be part of some puzzle or secret, but it's so unclear that I didn't feel like possibly spending hours on a wild goose chase. Also, he ruined the final fight, and the escape sequence at the end was rather dumb.

I've entertained the idea of learning to mod Morrowind to do my own version of expanding the final dungeon, but I've heard horror stories of the original construction kit and want to wait until OpenCS is done.

Bethesda's coding is a horror story in and of itself. They might as well be microsoft.

Encountered a few traps, had to teleport out of one of them.

I assume I need wraithguard to activate some of these machines, but I found a hole in the mesh so I got past this gear thing.

Found the first one niggers. Don't know what this big rock is here for, I could just walk right through it.

If that room in the third picture is the one I think it is, fuck it.

And fuck the thing in the first picture, too. Was that one you were able to teleport out of? I swear it wouldn't let me in the version I was playing.

Greater Dwemer Ruins was nice except for the part where you have to hunt down those glass tubes or whatever. Fuck item hunts.

Yah that was it, I just used recall. I have noticed that sometimes the game will let me use recall, and levitation randomly

Found some new armor, and horray for 100% resist poison on skellies.

Also in that ruin here, , there a bunch of stacked barrels with a door behind them. Don't click em, they explode with about 500+ damage

WE GOT A SELF INSERT

What are some good quality of life Morrowind mods that keep it vanilla-like? I want to play as close to vanilla as possible for my first playthrough that I will hopefully stick with to the end this time.

What do you mean? Like realistic cooking, jobs, and stuff?

...

I made it to Dagoth Ur, but how do you activate these things. They tell me I need to lubricate them with something, but I have been all over this place.

Stuff that makes the user interface better to play with and look at, primarily. Some examples would be the unrestricted menu size and better typography in the Morrowind Code Patch.

Wait… the menu sizes where restricted? You mean like the speech boxes?

According to the code patch;

The official DLC that's not included in the Steam or Retail Versions for one.
uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Official_Add-ons

Welp that is it for dagoth ur. I finally found Keening, but I had to use no clip to get to it because no levitation, and apparently nothing to open these stuck gears. The legitimate way to get it is using whatever you are supposed to already have, and then use Jump spells(because no levitation) to circumvent a blocked passage. It's pretty stupid

So from what I understood of the lore before Todd Howard fucked it up, is that Yokuda is a land of dragons that bomb the shit out of everything on a daily basis?

I am trying to look for an answer to the question of how much damage the traps in Sotha sil's clockwork city do. Are they not instant death?

Is there an animation and combat overhaul that makes everything look less… stiff?

mw.modhistory.com/download-51-6688

I am this guy, I was showing these screenshots to my friend and I realised that Boethiah, among other things, is the Daedric Prince of deceit. It's probably just a visual bug, but I wonder if the reflection changes during/after the quest? Kind of neat, probably overthinking it, I'll check it out tomorrow though.

Anons, I have a major fascination for maps. Not so much a fetish, but more of a mania. Modding the hell out of the games gives me an urge to always want to explore a new area in the world and learn more about it.

I want the most expansive and detailed map of the Elder Scrolls world that you can find me that isn't fan-made.

Like this?

...

Yes yes, I'm loving these.

If you say so.

Out of these, the first one is raw, but the best one. Last one is a bit of a joke.

These how how big things probably are and comapre to Earth.

Akavir shape is obviously just fandom consensus. It is smaller than Tamriel by a lot, though.

Fan made map of Yokuda. Shape is accurate. Features imagined.

Here's a short political history.

This is probably the most accurate geographical map out there.

Other fan made maps. Pretty accurate.

Arena and Oblivion maps.

Ingame maps.

Fan made climate speculations.

Why is modding the Skyrim SE so fucking terrible? It's like they intentionally fucked it up to shit on the modding community. Bethesda can fuck themselves with shit like that.

Situation in 4E201

The last one is about royal families.

I never understand why. Is there really a demographic autistic enough for this but too ADHD ridden to read a book? Or are there people who think that D&D settings aren't nearly shit enough?

This is the map of eastern Hammerfell, near the border with Markarth, Skyrim. Map is looking eastwards. Made for the Shadowkey game nobody played.

Wanna play risk?

These came with Redguard.

Daggerfall maps. Iliac bay.

Shivering Isles

Solstheim maps. Official Morrowind maps and Skyrim ingame map.

Arena, Oblivion and a fan map.

...

...

Last one is a surprisingly good fan map.

...

...

...

We know jack shit about Alinor

Same with Valenwood

Early Morrowind map before Bethesda cut out most of it.
Arena.
Oblivion.

Map that came with GOTY

Great houses in 4E201

...

The first one is the blueprint Tamriel Rebuilt is using.
Second one are the plans for Project Cyrodiil.

There. Have some fucking maps. I'm out.

I made a wallpaper from four of those Rudikov paintings. Hope someone likes it. It's in 4k.

Nice user, it looks great

I still really need to play Oblivion's DLC

Nigger the SI/KotN DLC was the only good thing about oblivion.

Be honest with me, if they made another TeS game, what region would you like to visit.

I would like to go yokuda or elswey?

Not even in the slightest would I want to go there, I know Beth will do a better job than Oblivion in post games considering Skyrim blew it right the fuck away, especially in terms of world design.

I'd rather see the TR/PC regions, hopefully they keep some of the Skyrim features, don't really care about keeping anything seen in Oblivion.

Oblivion wasn't very good user, but skyrim was much worse. Most boring game I ever played, at least oblivion had some fun to it.

I don't care if you enjoyed Oblivion better than Skyrim, Skyrim was better than Oblivion and handled many many things way better than Oblivion, and it's map design was one of them, It's even better than Morrowind's design which is shit, almost as bad as Oblivion but makes up for it with it's unorthodox environments like ashlands seaside swamps and rocky coasts.

Pathetic…

I think I just had a heart attack.
