i can see why people wouldnt like it before the expansions. each race was very similar for the most part, but at this point i think its my favorite. it feels so varied. its sad that the mechanics from the expansions werent hammered into the campaign for vanilla, which has the most missions by far. i didnt beat the commonwealth campaign when it released and i cant really make myself do it knowing that im being locked off from better game mechanics for seemingly no reason.
so i want to say if youre bored with it skip to the halfling campaign and things start to get really bonkers

theres surely used copies floating around if youre just adverse to giving them money. you might as well get the jap version if you wont miss english, since the bonus content with the big dungeon isnt even voiced in english.
