You have to actually type in the entire command in the terminal/command promp is open.

For example if your terminal is in the same folder as ffmpeg.exe, and assuming the file you want to convert is in there too, and assuming the file name is "readNiggah.mp4", you would type.

ffmpeg -i readNiggah.mp4 -f webm readNiggah.webm

That is the most basic one I can give you.

you should read the ffmpeg documentation but generally my webms are this but with tweaked bitrates so they hit the 12MB file size limit, you should learn what each one of those options do by googling them. don't be one of those retards who don't specify a bitrate and say "that's as good as it gets" because it just makes any encoder pick it's default constant quality value and output really shitty video/audio at tiny file sizes

ackshually i forgot to remove the "-an" on the second part but the rest is still valid. here's some test footage i made when the file size limit was still 8MB
Keep in mind if you use a lossless source your webm will end up better in quality and size and that there have been updates to the vp9 encoder that allow it to output better video at smaller file sizes and to do it all faster after i made this webm

Since FFMPEG VP9 was fixed for BEST quality it should always be used now

here's some more test footage, the source was encoded with nvenc on a gtx 780 at the highest quality setting, it's not lossless but pretty good

Your FFMPEG settings are the exact as XMediarecode other than maybe frame paralllel

And Alt-Ref of 1 is too low, set it to 6, fox those extra reference frames

You can always set QP to 1 and a max of 30 if you're over-anal about quality, but good luck making the bitrate stick without the encoder ignoring you

Setting frame parallel actually works for BEST quality, setting it to 64 vs 1 results in a degrade of like .5%

But considering BEST actually works now and gives better quality over GOOD even with 64 parallel the tradeoff is worth it

Also here's a hidden/unused cutscene from underground 1 i found in the game's files once while trying to make a mod, the video is actually lossless the source just looks that shitty, this was probably EA testing out their encoder and video/audio container while the game was in the making
